“I’m Tired Of It”

February 18th, 2019

Fed up with America.

As far as Kyle Brandt is concerned, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, is out of rope.

There is no more slack to give, said Brandt, co-host of “Good Morning, Football” seen weekday mornings on NFL Network. It seems Brandt wants to cheer on Jameis and wants Jameis and the Bucs to do well. But Brandt is fried on all the drama, all the talk, all the excuses, the off-field nonsense and the suspensions dating back to his Florida State days.

For Brandt, it’s time this year for Jameis to put up or get lost, in so many words. Last week Brandt pulled no punches when he was asked to comment on the Bucs’ quarterback situation.

“As a fan, I am fatigued as hell with Jameis,” Brandt said. “I’m tired of it. I’ve been watching this guy standing on the sidelines suspended since he was in Tallahassee. I’m over it. This is a make-it or break-it year for Jameis. So just pray that Bruce Arians is as good as we think he is.”

As you will hear later this week on the internationally popular “Ira Kaufman Podcast,” unless Jameis is rotten this year, not only does Joe think Jameis will return for 2020, he might just be franchised for next year to buy Team Glazer time before they possibly sign Jameis to the largest contract in franchise history.

Joe would want to see what the collective bargaining agreement looks like after the current pact expires following the 2020 season before tossing around what could be a nine-figure contract at Jameis.

Joe doesn’t believe Brandt is wrong here. Talk and drama are good for sales but at the end of the day, Jameis and the Bucs need wins. Joe doesn’t think Jameis would argue that point.

    Dwayne Haskins @ 5

  2. Bucsdelight Says:

Probably 90% of fans agree with him as well. Tampa Bay’s Quarterback, Alternate Pro Bowler, Jameis Winston has this year to prove he is worth anything. Has he learned anything? We will see.

  3. DaPostman Says:

Most people don’t care what Kyle B Randt has to say. Another talking head who obviously parrots what he hears from the National media. Winston showed what he is capable of the last 6 1/2 games. Winston has not had an issue in 3 years. Please STFU!

  4. 813bucboi Says:

    i agree….

as much as i believe that dirk and his staff didnt properly develop winston(and others that arent pass catchers) he’s out of excuses(barring a nasty injury)….this is the year he has to show fans he’s the QB for this franchise on and off the field….

i believe in him and think BA will get him over the hump but believing and seeing are 2 different things…..

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  5. DB55 Says:

As a fan, I am fatigued as hell with The Bucs ,” DB55 said. “I’m tired of it. I’ve been watching this team suck since 1978. I’m over it. This is a make-it or break-it year for the Bucs . So just pray that Bruce Arians is as good as we think he is.

As for Jameis I’ll watch him win a ring with another organization.

  6. DB55 Says:

Joe doesn’t believe Brandt is wrong here.
    ————–
Joe went from jameiswatch.com to jameishater.com

Keep up the good work joe.

  7. Robert Says:

talk and drama are good for sales?

Is that why their giving away tickets?

JW, I mean Crabman is the biggest fraud in Bucs history.

He’s divided the fanbase like barack hussein divided the country

He’s a bigger slimeball than smollett

  8. Lamarcus Says:

I disagree. I think JW is fine. We everyone to step up around him.

  9. Ken Says:

One thing is for sure, Jameis Winston has been good to Joe, likely the #1 source of click revenue. It is sad. Just say’n.

(You will delete this, won’t you?)

  10. Pickgrin Says:

Details of the the final new CBA agreement will not likely be available until well into what would have been the start of the 2021 season. After the strike/lockout…

The Super Bowl at Raymond James Stadium on 2/7/21 might just be the last NFL football game that anyone gets to see for awhile that year…

Talk of the new CBA (or more likely the lack of progress towards a new CBA) is likely to dominate the talk during the lead up to our “home” Super Bowl.

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

Brandt is spon on. Jameis cannot be in training forever. Poop or get off the pot. This..is a make or break year for him. If he does not cut the mustard and move up this season? Bush Gardens has a pack of..Nile Crocs that are always hungry!!

  12. Rod Munch Says:

    Who?

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

There will be an extension to the current CBA before that.

And, btw, salaries will go up after a new CBA so it’s better to get a contract done beforehand.

  14. Pryda..sec147 Says:

Please spare me Jameis is here to stay

  15. BucsFIRE Says:

Nothing wrong with what Brandt said…

I think most of us ardent JW supports would agree
that the time is NOW, Jameis, to become all that you can be.

    I believe that is ALOT.

If JW is as successful as he can be, than the critics will climb aboard and have something in #3 to root for.

If not, than yes it will be time to move on.

  16. BucsFIRE Says:

    DB55 Says:
“Joe went from jameiswatch.com to jameishater.com”

    ———

    I don’t agree with that, DB55.
All JOE said was that Brandt is not wrong here.

As I said, even those of the biggest JW fans would agree that the time is NOW.
Time for him to show everyone what he can do.
    He’s got to.

  17. Alstott up the gut Says:

I couldn’t agree more with Brandt. Winston has done absolutely nothing so far in his career. Look at what other young QBs that start right away have done: Mariota, Wentz, Goff, Mahomes, Watson…. all have been to the playoffs already. He had to privately negotiate with the league because I’m sure that Uber situation would be appalling if we heard the truth, his turnovers have cost us games, the world makes fun of us because of his sideline antics, that fight with the NO Saints was 100% his faulty couple of years ago, and on and on. I hope BA can turn it around this year, or I hope he never plays more than 16 more games with the Bucs.

  18. BADMAN Says:

Winston will go down in Buc’s history as another slacker , Like Josh Freeman…….

  19. BADMAN Says:

I knew we should have drafted Mariota and we wouldn’t have been going over this mess…

  20. Pelbuc Says:

JW is a con man and for reasons I’ll never understand, Glazers keep on giving him chances. Yes, us fans are tired of all his crap and bad performances.

  21. Figures Says:

Of the organization believed in Jameis as much as the fans do he would’ve already been signed to a big deal. That fact he hasn’t sure says a lot to me.

The homers believe he is the best QB to ever grace a football field
(The best the Bucs ever had) lmao as if that’s a hard accomplishment. (Low low bar).

I hope he succeeds but right now he’s just meh average. (Above average on a good day).

This is a make it or break it hear for Jamies and I personally don’t believe he will do well under that kind of pressure.
Hope I’m wrong because I’m a Bucs fan since 1986.

  22. Not there yet Says:

A lot of people in this world go to work and do just enough not to get fired, D Jackson and shaggy baker come to mind. Winston can pretty much play like he did his first couple years and get franchised or he can play like he did after his last benching and get a big deal, either way he’ll be here until 2020. Dude has the want to, the drive and passion plus talent so I expect dirk was offensive version of Jeff Fischer only he couldn’t even go 7-9. Everyone will be improve

  23. Buc1987 Says:

    Badman…yes that’s what he’s been so far….a slacker..how perceptive of you….

    Dumbest fans in the NFL…..

  24. sunshine Says:

Winston is rated in the BOTTOM 3rd of qb’s by the nfl .That’s bottom 3rd!! ..So maybe not so worthy of all the admiration ,after all..

  25. Doctor_berto Says:

    BADMAN,

You realize Mariota is much worse statistically than Jameis, right? They also have a badass o line, running back, and defense.

  26. Defense Rules Says:

@Joe … “unless Jameis is rotten this year, not only does Joe think Jameis will return for 2020, might just be franchised for next year to buy Team Glazer time before they may sign Jameis to the largest contract in franchise history.”

Aah yes, Joe, nothing screams ‘give Jameis the biggest contract in franchise history’ like the words “Unless Jameis is rotten this year”. Could we possibly set our sights a tad higher than mediocrity for a team leader? (“Not being rotten” is kinda like saying to your wife “That casserole that you cooked up for dinner wasn’t bad.” Not exactly a ringing endorsement of her culinary skills).

  27. Figures Says:

If anyone else on the team was in the bottom third the homers scream to get them out of here they suck yada yada. But if Winston in the bottom third they blame it on every single thing under the sun. Everyone except Winston lmao
    Bunch of da mn hypocrites

  28. Figures Says:

Winston is better than Mariota. That dude sucks.

  29. unbelievable Says:

well I know I always consult with former soap opera stars when I need some hard hitting insight into the game of football…

    lol

  30. BrianBucs Says:

Brandt is 100% correct on every point.

  31. stpetebucsfan Says:

Right or wrong Brandt is simply reflecting the feelings of NFL fans all around the country.

People like to point out how Buc fans have bailed on JW. Buc fans are the ONLY JW fans. I’m not saying this is how it should be, but it is what it is.

When I talk to my son in Columbus he laughs at us. He pays no attention to JW…and besides as a Browns fan he now has his own QB to cheer.

I’m with what I perceive as the consensus opinion here. JW is probably better than the rest of the nation believes however this IS the year he needs it to show up consistently on the field.

  32. miken Says:

the problem is BA ain’t going to be around for more than 1 year of Jameis new deal if he gets one.

  33. AlteredEgo Says:

Jameis is as Jameis has done…more tease than please
Dwayne Haskins @ 5 and let the best man win !…the 2020 job

  34. JimmyJack Says:

When alls said and done this team is going to learn how to win with Bruce Arians at the helm.

This 5-11 bulls***, not even being competitive on the field, basement titles every year and never(literally never) having a winning Home record is going to go away.

The Buccaneers are going to find a way to win with or without Winston.

The losing needs to end. The excuses are tired and we are done with them. Nobody’s going to tolerate Winston trotting out there throwing up 6 godawful clunker games no more.

And if Winston still gonna go out there and throw games away then we will get a different QB who can handle the job.

I love Winston a lot & support him 💯. Give me results or get out.

  35. JimmyJack Says:

Anduch like this year’s draft in the year of the Passrusher……Next year’s draft will be the year of the QB.

I think Winston can prove to be our long-term answer but if I’m wrong it will be a easy transition to move on from him.

  36. Stanglassman Says:

Do you think this guy even realizes that for over 3 years JW3 has been a model teammate and citizen. I think half these guys think Jameis Uber issue happened going into the ‘18 season.

It’s possible that Jameis should have told the brass about the Uber night but we really don’t have all the facts regarding who he told and when. Or if he was advised by his agent and or attorney to not say anything.

  37. Ndog Says:

Please anyone name the QB in NFL history that won with a bottom 5 defense, bottom 5 running game and bottom 5 kicking game? I’ll wait….

  38. Wiscobucsfan Says:

    #TrevorLawrence2021

  39. Wiscobucsfan Says:

Ndog, please name any QB in history who has won while being indefinitely suspended.

  40. Wiscobucsfan Says:

Ndog, or the QB who leads the league in turnovers

  41. Wiscobucsfan Says:

I can name QB’s who have won with far worse TE’s and WR’s though

  42. SB Says:

I was a Stout supporter of drafting JW3.
That said he is what he is right now.
Going into his fifth season he has more Turnovers than TDs, a 61% Comp % and a losing record.
I am starting to think we were sold a bill of goods here.
He has done ABSOLUTELY ZERO to make people think he could win a ring. Only FSU homers can even possibly believe that.

  43. Lamarcus Says:

This microwave age is contagious and could be catastrophic. With saying that, JW is right on track and given the circumstances he stood against even his own self inflicted wounds…. he should be not as good as he is now. Most ppl fold.

He has Good given talent. He stands out differently than most QBs has extreme accuracy… He has ackward athletic ability and I think that’s the issue but with mechanic coaches like Arians and sky is the limit. But you can’t win without a team. Brady never don’t that either.

  44. Lamarcus Says:

And I think he can throw about 80 yards with ease. Even djx can’t catch them. Matter of fact djx never had out throw him until he meant JW. Get a guy with 3.9 40 time and we be on 50 game win streak but my preference is to get a complete team including great winning culture

  45. Loyaltotheend Says:

Jameis teases us at the end of seasons with above average to very good games then then following year he looks like a rookie for long stretches

If he doesn’t play consistently well enough to win he’s not signing anything other than a backup deal

  46. BigMacAttack Says:

Defense wins championships. If Todd Bowles can’t fix this mess, no one can. I have little faith in Licht. Hopefully someone with common sense and eyes wide open will oversee his draft. Otherwise Jason Licht will screw it u again.

  47. D1 Says:

    LaMarcus,

    80yds with ease.

    Jameis can’t throw far.

  48. Loyaltotheend Says:

You can have the best d ever but if you don’t have a qb who consistently puts your team in a position to win you will be wasting that d year after year.

Besides it’s not that kind of league anymore you need a offense and a competent d not a dominant one

  49. Bird Says:

    ^^^^

Agree. The league is about offense and scoring. Play calling favors the offense. Having skill players matters. Receiving wise the Bucs have those.

    2 teams In super bowl
Chiefs ranked 31st defense. They have Patrick Mahomes though
Patriots ranked 21st defense. They have Tom Brady though

Those two qbs are not average. Bucs have better set of receivers and tight ends them both.

  50. Jeagan1999 Says:

Agreed. Put up or shut up time for JW! If he gets his TD/INT ratio up over 2-1, cuts down on the mistakes, and keeps his nose clean off the field….then I’ll believe that he was worth the high pick we paid for him. Right now….based on the body of work I’ve seen so far, I’m dubious to say the least.

  51. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

I am shocked to find out that Robert is a Trumpian! Who would have thought this guy hated a black QB and a black president. Yeah dude Barack was so divisive. Well now we have your boy in office and he is such a uniter!

  52. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Who would have thought that Robert is a Trumpian. Yeah, Obama was so divisive and Trump is a uniter. You have to just be troll right because you can’t possibly be so transparently racist and dumb can you?

  53. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Robert doesn’t like Obama! I am shocked!

  54. BringBucsBack Says:

I’m almost positive that #3 will play well enough in 2019 to earn a NINE! (9!?) figure salary and placate us & the Bucs enough to forego drafting his quality replacement from the rich QB draft of 2020! I’m all but positive!…Bucs life! Yes, we will regret it.

    JoFro- five year flush
    #3- 7yr. Flush

#3 should ONLY get signed IF he lights it up (& turns off the ATM)!

  55. Bird Says:

    Sorry. Rams ranked 19 defense.

  56. cmurda Says:

This is a make or break year for Jameis. Not rocket science. Even the casual Bucs fan knows that. Riveting speculation there Mr Brandt. However, Jameis doesn’t need to set the world on fire. He just needs to show improvement taking care of the ball and let the talent of his offense do more work. Wouldn’t it be nice to give #3 a defense and some semblance of a running game. Peyton Barber is the guy everyone loves to defend, but come on. Let’s be honest. Average at best speed, okay vision, and above average toughness. That’s fine for a backup. We need a number 1 guy after solidifying the O Line. 1 or 2 solid starters on defense and a running Bell, oops I mean back, in free agency. Address O Line and rest of defense in draft.

  57. 1sparkybuc Says:

Tom Brady wouldn’t make the playoffs behind our OL and with this defense. The same could be said for Steve Young or Brad Johnson. It’s a team game. Jameis has had ONE season with a decent ground attack. One dimensional teams rarely have winning seasons, forget about making the playoffs. I respected Koetter as a person and as an OC, but lost confidence in him as a HC. I believe this new coaching staff will build a contender with Jameis as our QB. There is obviously a division among the fan base on our QB. That is not the case where it counts, among his teammates, with the exception of DJax. Jameis is loved and respected. I find it odd that a hater of Jameis would attack Barack as a great “divider” while the greatest divider of them all posts his hatred on Twitter seven days a week. Jameis will unify this team. BA will build that team around him.

  58. BADMAN Says:

WE’LL SEE HOW FAR WINSTON GOE’S …….BUCS1987SAY:: AND O-REALLY DOCTOR REBERTO…….WE WILL SEE WHO COME’S OUT ON TOP….MARIOTA OR WINSTON…

  59. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Sometimes I just don’t get Bucs fans.

Is the goal here to be right? Or is it to have a winning franchise quarterback for the next 15 years?

All true Bucs fans should hope Jameis becomes all that he can be, that he explodes this year under Arians. That he earns a record breaking contract.

After all, for him to earn a ‘record breaking’ contract, he would have to at least get us to the NFC Championship game, I would think. Maybe even the Superbowl. However unlikely, shouldn’t that be the hope?

Rather than have to draft a new QB and wait another 4-5 year for him to develop?

    To me, fans like this:

    BADMAN Says
“Winston will go down in Buc’s history as another slacker , Like Josh Freeman…”
“I knew we should have drafted Mariota and we wouldn’t have been going over this mess…”

    Are complete dimwits.

Look, Originally, I did not want Winston either. Heck, I was the only one who predicted when he was drafted that he would get in trouble in his SECOND off season, so the Uber thing was not unexpected…I was just happy the nature of it was not as bad as peoples reactions to it were.

But Jameis is getting a bum deal so far as how people are talking about him. The Uber thing (if he even did it and it was NEVER PROVEN), happened over three years ago. If he was going to continue to have off the field issues, he would have gotten into more trouble by now. Instead, he has been doing charity work, visiting schools to read and speak to children, getting engaged and having a child.

And yet the haters like BADMAN continue to pretend he still has off the field issues, or that he doesn’t try hard enough on the field.

The truth is this…Jameis works hard. Really hard. Too hard at times, which leads to his mistakes on the field. But there are underlying reasons his picks and fumbles were high:

    • Until this past season, the offensive line allowed more sacks and quarterback hits with each consecutive year. It got so bad in 2017 that the result was a shoulder injury in the second game of the season that lasted almost all year.

    • That shoulder injury was to his throwing arm, which caused issues with his grip on the ball, resulting in more fumbles and bad throwing. Yes, he’s a warrior and he wanted to keep on playing through it…but Koetter should have forced him to heal up.

    • In 2017, Kicking cost the Bucs TWO GAMES…that is a given. And they were in the first quarter of the season.

    • Throughout the rest of the 2017 season, even with his injury, Jameis led the team from behind to take the lead in the final minutes of FOUR GAMES…only to have the defense lose it again.

    • We had 5 WINS in 2017. Add the two games from the kicker and the 4 games the defense lost, and that is 11 WINS. With Jameis playing injured.

    • In 2018, Jameis spent his entire suspension preparing for the 4th game of the season…only to have Koetter start Fitz instead. Many fans agreed with the choice. I didn’t. Fitz lost the game anyway. I think Jameis, having prepared more, would have won that game. And then what happened? We went into the bye week and Koetter completely gave up on Winston. That was the beginning of the end for Koetter, I believe, in the Glazer’s eyes.

  60. Robert Says:

wow,m so I support my president. does that makes me evil????

I voted for obama 1st time around BTW. He had my support until he said “you didn’t build that”……then supporting cop killing etc.

so , yeah call me a Trumpian

  61. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Buc Bonzai

What if the best hope is finding another QB to be the “franchise” for 15 years??????? Why do we have to wait to see all these issues and “if’s” fixed????? Would it not just be easier to start with someone else???????

The 2019 season will reveal answers to the sheep, That the “real” fans already know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  62. D-Rome Says:

Jay-Miss was rotten last year. If he has a similar year he should not be on the team in 2020.

  63. D-Rome Says:

After all, for him to earn a ‘record breaking’ contract, he would have to at least get us to the NFC Championship game, I would think. Maybe even the Superbowl. However unlikely, shouldn’t that be the hope?

    Bonzai,
I don’t think the team needs to do that well for him to be signed to a long term deal. Sure, we all hope the Bucs go to the NFC championship game or Super Bowl but that is not realistic. I don’t care about close games, defense giving up games, kicking, ect… Jay-Miss’s evaluation shouldn’t be on wins. No one thinks Aaron Rodgers is below average because the Packers were below average. His evaluation should be on how he performs. He lead the NFL in throwing into tight windows. He still has too many turnovers. His receivers still have to jump out of their shoes far too often to catch his high passes. He isn’t a real deep ball threat. He has better receiving targets than Tom Brady but far too often he looks like a younger Ryan Fitzpatrick.

We’re all waiting for him to take that “next step” but it hasn’t happened. I’m not optimistic that it will.

  64. BucsFIRE Says:

    BADMAN Says:
“Winston will go down in Buc’s history as another slacker”

    —-

Sorry man, but that is really a dumb comment.
Jameis can be criticized for several things, but being a “slacker” is not one of them, and even most of his harshest critics would agree.

  65. Not there yet Says:

Same dude just picked the bucs to go from worst to first a couple days ago, make up your mind brah

  66. T REX Says:

All the same excuses…over and over.

I have excuse fatigue. Playoffs or bust.

  67. Bucsdelight Says:

LMAO, Tom Brady couldn’t make it to the playoffs with our OL? Really? Winston and Fitz were sacked a combined 41 times. There were 9 other QBs that were sacked more than that.

-Deshaun Watson (62) – Made Playoffs
-Dak Prescott (56) – Made Playoffs
    -Derek Carr (51)
-Russell Wilson (51) – Made Playoffs
    -Aaron Rodgers (49)
    -Eli Manning (47)
    -Josh Rosen (45)
    -Marcus Mariota (42)
    -Matt Ryan (42)

So Three QBs who had a more worse OL made the playoffs. I guess you don’t believe in Jameis like you think you do.

  68. Pittsshore Says:

He said the same thing last year.

  69. LargoBuc Says:

Brandt is kind of off base here. Jameis has been suspended for what, four games total in six seasons, two collegiate and four pro. Acting like Jameis has been constantly suspended is misleading.
But I get it. Its time for Jameis to do the damn thing.

  70. quickdrw21 Says:

Only a Bucs quarterback could be awful for 4 years and fans say ok one more year but that’s all. Lol we are a sad team. .383 all time winning average worst in nfl history. This is why.
