Enter GMC’s Man Cave

February 4th, 2019

Behold, his realm.

This is a big offseason for stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy. The big question is, will he return to the Bucs for 2019?

The Bucs are feeling a pinch on the salary cap and GMC is on the wrong side of 30. He talked after the 2018 finale as if he might be gone.

Since, GMC has been pumping out cryptic messages on social media. Who knows what to make of them?

In the meantime, the folks at Fanatics.com have a weekly feature called “Man Cave Monday” where they take viewers into the homes of star players. Sort of like the old “Cribs” on MTV.

Today, Fanatics.com enters GMC’s sweet man cave. Or should that be Bat Cave?” Hey, GMC isn’t closed-minded about other superheroes. He even shows off his Superman briefs.

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  2. tmaxcon Says:

I said it 7 years ago and it holds true today. Bucs will never win a meaningful game with cancer93 on the roster. move on….

  3. Bird Says:

Barry Sanders – Good choice . Barry was a pimp

  4. StoutGospel Says:

    No…he won’t be here.

Man we have to get moving on this roster. Are they just gonna kick it all the way to the Combine???!

Technically, the Bucs don’t have to be under the cap until the final-53 roster is set for 2019. Been told the combine is where a lot of preliminary talks are held between GMs and agents about possible cuts, trades and/or restructures. It’s pretty much an NFL winter convention. Everyone (but most owners) are there in the same town at the same time.

i love 93 gerald is a good man great off the field family guy— thats why it pains me even more to say its been great gerald but time to go in a different direction we just need different types of leadership presence on defense and we need d-linemen with nastier attitude along the lines of guys like JPP— i wont be upset if he sticks around as long as he agrees to restructure otherwise im sure he can find a starting lob somewhere…

  7. StoutGospel Says:

    @Joe…

That was all known …lol…but thanks for the edification there chap. We’ve all been doing the Combine thing for many many years in all its’ facets.

My expression was one of, GET THE F*CK going Licht cuz he could use that time to work with GM’s on the more complex, improbable BA-influenced surprise(s).

The routine could be handled till then, in my estimation.

    Go Bucs!

  8. Jameis Almighty! Says:

GMC is and will be a great Buc

  9. AlteredEgo Says:

He’ll go to NE and get a SB next year for the same salary the Bucs will offer…and BTW Edelman just made Hump a lot of money on his next deal and I don’t think he’ll be playing in Tampa

  10. Bucsfanman Says:

He’s a Buc, I’m a Buc fan. I wish we would’ve seen more from him alongside a 10+ sack DE. I’m not sure he’s a “keeper” at $13 mil though.

He’s got some cool collectibles and memorabilia.

  11. Mr Lucky Says:

I remember in 2010 when there was great debate about who was better Suh or McCoy and so many on here applauded drafting McCoy – I was in the minority favoring Suh. Who playing in a SuperBowl and who has sat on their couch?

Collecting basement titles does not make one great it proves what a fraud he is

I guess I do not understand football positions. I thought GMC was a DT…not a team leader. Are we going to boot every player who is not a team leader?

I do not believe Vita Vea will be a team leader…Lavonte does not excel at that…but both are valuable Bucs.

    It’s not GMC’s fault he was not a natural leader..and he’s still a solid DT…not at 13 million…but at some price.

Who is going to replace his 6-8 sacks next year?

  14. Mike Johnson Says:

    Tmaxcon is a McCoy hater!

  15. SOEbuc Says:

GMC should’ve went with Logan. Adamantium skeleton would’ve likely helped him not be so soft lol.

  16. SOEbuc Says:

Lavonte does not excel at being a team leader?

I would say LVD been the leader of this defense if not the team (good or bad) for a long time now. JPP came in and helped out this year.

Who’s gonna come in and replace 6-8 sacks next year? Ed Oliver at #5 playing next to Vea in a hybrid defense.

  17. JimmyJack Says:

How could watch that video and not love Gerald. He is a feast to the eyes on camera with a smile that will brighten your day.

He is so much fun too. Did you see all those toys? God, I would love to play with Gerald’s toys!!

It will be so sad to lose our media darling but I think everything will be just fine for everyone. I think the Giants will claim McCoy and he can go play in Gotham City!!!!! It’s Gerald’s destiny.

The best part of it all will be seeing Gerald in blue. I’m getting gushy just thinking about it.

  18. stpetebucsfan Says:

    SOEbuc

I love LVD but he’s not that vocal…but he doesn’t provide free ice cream and nobody expected him to be the next Derrick Brooks…unlike GMC was compared to the GOAT of our DL..Sapp.

I say GOAT because Selmon was before my time so I get if some older Buc fans wish to argue that point.

I certainly take your point about Oliver replacing GMC but then who replaces that draft pick. That’s pretty much saying GMC is worth a #5.

But I’m certainly with you on Oliver…he would be a great pickup. SB Nation has him going 8th so he should be available.

And after watching the two best pass rushing DT’s get run all over by the Pats adding a 290 lb tackle would be great to go along with Vea.

  19. Bucs 14 Says:

Joe, please quit calling Ice Cream 93 a stud. He is not. Bucs pay this guy big $ to be an impact player. He is not. Go to a 2 gap 3-4 with Vea as NT and JPP and Nassib at DE. Save the team $13 million in cap money. Get rid of DJax and save more money to bring in proven free agents.

  20. stvcl Says:

Let’s move on and let some young blood play in his spot. I know what 93 is and contrary to his unrealistic high opinion of himself, I see a mediocre player at best. I ain’t gonna miss him. Walk the plank.

  21. Buccaneerscotty Says:

    Love McCoy!!!

  22. Kord Says:

If he is gone, any one of the 31 teams will flip if they land him. Just hope it is not a nfc south team… hope he re structures and buys into Bowles and Arians

  23. Kord Says:

And please not Seattle! I’m going to the Seattle game this year, if McCoy is in a hawks uniform I might hurl off a mezzanine!

  24. Rod Munch Says:

GRRRR!!!! He reads comic books and that makes me soooo angry!!!! GRRRR!!!!! CUT HIM!!!!

  25. Crabberbill Says:

I hope McCoy will restructure and stay but i till want Ed Oliver for our pic !! If we can trade back to #7 and still get him that would be awesome !! The game is won on the line, Offensive and defensive line. Go for best offensive lineman in the second. Defense wins championships !!! Go Buc’s, love BA and all the new coaches !!
