Morning Cup Of Joe

January 28th, 2019

Welcome to your Morning Cup of Joe, an eye-opener to help Joe’s readers ease into their busy workday with a few football links, wacky news and a pleasant distraction.

Distraction of the Day

The team quit on you. [BSPN]

If a nobody backup linebacker wants to get noticed, punch a cop. Two things will happen: People will know who you are and your night will probably be trashed. [PFT]

The inside info on Antonio Brown’s meltdown. [CBS Sports]

It’s hard to argue the Rams didn’t make the smart move by leaving St. Louis for Los Angeles even though they shat all over the town on their way out the door. [USA Today]

If Monday isn’t depressing enough, this story will do it. You will never be able to retire unless you want to live in a miserable hellhole the rest of your life or finish your time on earth in abject poverty. [New York Post]

Bank robber skates on prison sentence because he’s so dumb. [Barstool Sports]

The Newseum will close at the end of the year. Why? Well, in part, just like newspapers, the museum is struggling to stay afloat. On a very serious note, that’s too bad. It is one of Joe’s favorite museums in Washington. Lot of really cool stuff in there from TRS-80 (“Trash-80”) laptops (arguably the best Joe ever used) to newspaper front pages of the Civil War to videos of reporters covering combat in the Vietnam War to a Howard Stern display. [Baltimore Sun]

Does America need Andrew Dice Clay? What the hell kind of question is this? “Hickory, Dickory, Dock… “ [New York Times]

Oh I’m sorry didn’t know England wasn’t a Western society

Antonio Brown should be tested for sleep apnea or other possible sleep disorders. It may be that he’s really not being willfully disrespectful.

The only bank robber I know personally is a white dude who turned himself in, gave all the money back, and still did a year in the county jail.

This is what happens when the wealth gap keeps increasing for 40 years as we constantly shovel more and more money to the top 1%, while squeezing the middle class and eroding social services.

But I’m sure the money will trickle down sooner or later right? That’s what we keep being told. It’s not like it’s a proven lie that has never actually worked or anything…

    @ unbelievable

Go back to Benghazi, Commie lover. T rump Bumps are helping the middle class. More in 2 years than every president combined in the history of mankind.

  8. unbelievable Says:

^ In addition to learning how to spell, you should also learn how to read.

And since you obviously didn’t even take the time to read that short article linked above, I doubt you’ll take the time to read this:

    https://www.oxfamamerica.org/static/media/files/bp-public-good-or-private-wealth-210119-en.pdf

It explains just how disastrous these policies are not just for the US, but the entire world.

But again, this would require you to actually read something with real information and facts, instead of listening to a conman on twitter.

    @ unbelievable

    My reply was sarcasm. Lol

I get it though, Dump supports can be that dense.

    @ Chode

How’s it going, old friend? You still swallowing butterscotch?

  13. Buccfan37 Says:

    Trump derangement syndrome runs deep.

  14. HowToSpellRhonde Says:

    @37

But I’ve taken so many supplements to stave off brain corruption from the deep state. Surely it’s not from liquidating my pension into gold bars that I’ve buried in my back yard. If only I learned more the Bible in public school.

  15. Clodhopper Says:

Sorry BK, I don’t have time for 98 comment arguments (with you understanding nothing I say) any more. This blazing economy has me too busy. Sorry your still bitter and hate the good economy. You must be one of the unlucky ones that got laid off from one of those lame websites filled with soyboys and hairy butterfaces.

  16. HowToSpellRhonde Says:

    @ Chode hop on er

Keep up the good fight, stay off the pipe.

  17. unbelievable Says:

Haha my bad man, it’s hard to tell sometimes!

Don’t mind clod, he can’t himself.

  18. Dave Says:

An idiot bank robber, a bad court system in the UK….
    And you guys
1- turn it in to a “race” issue
2- use it to bash Trump and talk about wealth disparity.

    Holy crap.

Btw, wages are on the rise and the world is wealthier right now and less people are in poverty than at any point in history. This is because of capitalism and trade. At no point did various forms of government ever help improve economics more than a free market. Do you want to see the wealth disparity between the top and the bottom? Look at history when governments are too powerful.

The gap between the super wealthy and middle-class is really irrelevant because money is not finite. Just because someone else has something doesn’t mean you can’t go out and get yours

  19. Dave Says:

    Back to football-

Sounds like Antonio Brown is the bad guy in this. He’s the one who thinks he can show up late and not stay with the team. Called being a diva. Treating some players slightly different than others by a head coach is OK, to a degree. Sounds like Tomlin dropped the ball and let it go too far. The majority of blame rests on Antonio Brown’s shoulders though.
He’s a wide receiver in a passing league, I don’t care how good he is, he’s expendable.

  20. unbelievable Says:

I think Dave read the wrong article lol.

Agreed on AB though. When a diva gets coddled for too long… this is what happens.
