Happy New Year!

January 1st, 2019

Happy New Year, everyone!

Joe is bummed this time of the year. Sad a year has gone by; sad that football season is that much closer to an end; sad the best sport in the world is the shortest sports season of all, which is just plain wrong!

But there are good things to look forward to! The Bucs will have a new coach soon which brings us all hope. And the Bucs have the No. 5 pick, within range of swinging a deal for Nick Bosa. Things are looking brighter.

Always remember and never forget: Joe never takes a day off. Even though the offseason is a few short weeks away, Joe will be here for your daily Bucs fix and news and commentary. Each day, every day. Just like always.

Joe always has ideas brewing to make this site better than ever. Hey, you never know.

And Joe hopes all of his readers have a very prosperous and happy 2019!

    Gruden is going to bench Carr at some point this season, book it. Also Martin of course looks good, just like he did last year when he had any blocking at all. Of course the box score watchers think Martin was terrible, but he wasn’t, and as I said all offseason he’ll get at least 700 yards in Oakland and look good doing it.

    ———

    Well, Martin had 723 yards and looked good getting that yardage, on a terrible offense he still averaged 4.2 yards per carry – and added another 116 yards catching.

    As for Carr…. he was benched a number of times this year, but in game. Anywho, wow does Gruden hate Carr. Go back to that mic’d up episode of MNF from a couple of weeks ago and listen to how Gruden talks to Carr like he’s a 5 year old. I’m guessing Gruden does everything possible to dump Carr and his contract this offseason – then again he loves collecting QBs so to give one up would be going against his nature. If I was Gruden, and I hated Carr, I’d be on the phone with Jacksonville seeing what they’d give me for him – and if I was Jacksonville I’d be offering up a good package as I think he can be very productive, just not with the Gruden.

    Happy New Year everyone! Let’s treat each other with kindness and support our team more positively. My hope is that our Bucs will deliver respect and true toughness on the field for us fans. I want to see them be successful and bring us fans something to smile about like the day they won the Super Bowl. What great times it was to be a Buccaneer. Go Bucs!

    Here’s another… Wow, I should be GM.

    This is on Grimes resigning for $7m…

    That is quite the deal, and we know how much Licht LOVES getting a deal.

    Oh and Sherman, he got $3m. I remember the night he signed everyone saying John Lynch got tooled and how happy they were he didn’t sign here. Oh wait, Lynch gave him $3m, that’s all that is at risk, which is less than we gave a kicker and the 4th DE from the Bears. Meanwhile the Bucs have Ryan Smith as their #2 starter.

    On an article about the Bucs going after Bell in 2019… Damn I’m good.

    Bell gets older by the year, if the Bucs really did want him they should make an offer to the Steelers, it wouldn’t be a huge offer, maybe a 2nd and a 4th, the idea would be that the Steelers don’t want to pay him and he doesn’t want to be there, so perhaps they’d take the deal to get rid of the headache. I’m not sure if Steelers would do it or not, if they really are sick of his whinning they might. As for those saying just wait a year and get him for free… Bell isn’t coming to Tampa next year when they will probably fire everyone and start over yet again. Go get the guy if you want him and try to win right now.

    On to 2019! Happy New Year to ALL!

    When Jason Licht became the Bucs’ general manager, Tampa Bay was the worst team in the NFC South. Five years later, the Bucs are still the worst team in the South

    Licht = 27-53
    Winston = 21-33
    Since Malcolm’s Stroke = 77 – 131
    New HC = 0-0 (but he will have to coach Licht’s picks)

  19. Mike Johnson Says:

    Honey..How did I end up on the back porch naked as a jaybird singing with Rex (my dog) at 5am this morning? What did you put in in my coca-cola last night?
    Heres to a New..better,,and improved Bucs team next season guys!!

    Only 4 months to one of my favorite dates. Draft Day. If you have to stomach a rotten team, at least there always draft day. Can’t get Bosa ?; trade back. Hope everyone on this site has a happy & healthy New Year. The health part gets bigger every year as you young studs out there will encounter some day. It’s as sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West.
