“First Take” Gang On Bruce Arians

January 10th, 2019

Offers his two cents on Bucs.

Listening to two of the talking heads on “First Take,” seen only on BSPN, new Bucs coach Bucco Bruce Arians is going to get chewed up and spit out by the Buccaneers’ losing culture.

Look no further than America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, says Max Kellerman. He expects Arians to fail because Kellerman doesn’t believe in Jameis.

Screamin’ Stephen A. Smith seemed to hint that Arians is overrated. Additionally, SAS said it doesn’t matter who is the coach or who is the quarterback, if the defense isn’t fixed it will not matter and bad defense will kill Arians’ days in Tampa Bay.

However, former Jets offensive lineman Damien Woody called the Arians’ hire a “slam dunk.” Woody not only believes Arians is the right coach for Jameis but believes defensive coordinator Todd Bowles will turn around the horrid Bucs defense.

Molly Qerim just looks hot.

Excellent take from those without the pewter glasses and kool aid.

  2. AlteredEgo Says:

So here we are going into the 5th year and the glass is still half full /half empty…..I guess it was right to bring in a new HC for Jameis’s 5th year to really find out !….

  3. Go Bucs 72 Says:

Nobody cares about what Stephen Ahole Smith says, he is a moron.

  4. Wausa Says:

Not to get too political, but Max Kellerman is an extreme leftist and makes no logical sense on pretty much any subject.

If he says it’s sunny outside then I would expect a deluge of epic proportions.

  5. twodog1970 Says:

    Totally agree on Molly Querim!!!!

  6. JWBUCS Says:

What is all the significance of Speculating on Results before action engages…. I can affirm that we will see the Bruce Arians impact of coaching once the 2019 season is underway… AND NOT BEFORE!

  7. Not there yet Says:

Wow just wow but hey glazers you wanted the spotlight here you go, I bet your paying Arians a lot of money to put his reputation on the line. Don’t listen to that show anymore but the sad part is not when they say crazy things like this the worst part is they aren’t doing it for rating these dudes actually believe that crazy talk.

  8. BucEmUp Says:

If arians cant fix the team then just sell it because at that point it will ve hopeless.

  9. BucFamous Says:

Has Smith liked any coaching hires? Or rather, has Smith liked anything EVER? His whole job is to be an a#$hole.

Dude can’t even be bothered to find out who is playing in the games he is supposed to be previewing.

  10. Robert Says:

an old dude with a hard on for crabman
byron friggin leftwich calling plays and eating dubyas pregame with jamyth, lol

I’m quite sure he’ll get a burst in confidence and have a 100lb weight dropped off his back. he should have no worries and ball out like sandlot ball

question still remains if he has it between the ears when teams scheme for the new and improved crabman

    we can hope! GO BUCS!

  11. Thelawsrewq Says:

    Knowledgeable people watch ESPN?

  12. AlteredEgo Says:

Poor mechanics….poor decision making….poor accuracy….have at it Arians…..the first 2 can be coached

  13. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Can we at least agree that the Defense needs to be fixed?

And, can’t we all get along?

  14. 813bucboi Says:

    SAS has a point…..

    GO BUCS!!!!

  15. D-Rome Says:

Everyone had very reasonable opinions on the Bucs, Arians, and Jay-Miss.

  16. MTM Says:

Arians has a very good track record, Boyles is a great DC.on paper it looks promising. Jameis is most questionable player.

  17. Bejesusbelt Says:

When BA said he would only coach in Cleveland, didn’t the Buccaneers have a coach at that time. I don’t think he would say he would go anywhere that has a coach. Cleveland was on “interim” coaching situation. That would be in bad taste, and not to mention what would SAS have to say about someone campaigning for a job that doesn’t have an opening.

  18. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

I cannot stand SAS but the guy is 100% spot on and dudnerbox licht and his ridiculous personnel moves have been horrible and he created the worst defense in NFL history. Unless the defense can add another DT, LB, and 2 guys on the backend, it will not matter. The OL needs players and the bucs need a RB, there is a ton to get done that hiring a coach will not matter. Then of course there is the jameis factor that needs to be seen in 2019

  19. DooshLaRue Says:

Molly is alright, but I’ll take Kay Adams for the win!

  20. Jonzey Says:

I think our offense is good just need a top running back and two lineman. We need CB help bad so get Greedy Williams first please.

  21. tmaxcon Says:

it’s a fair observation all the way around given the fact NO COACH or FRONT OFFICE combination has been able to overcome the glazers for nearly two decades of embarrassing football on and off the field.

  22. SCBucsFan Says:

I’m surprised Smith didn’t think this was racial.

And Kellerman is a boxing analyst.

    Yawn.

  23. Tampabucfan88 Says:

At that table there is only one man who played the game of football so why are u listing to the others three

  24. Knack2Babbyyyy Says:

I thought SAS lost his credibility card when he was naming players that weren’t even on the roster, as keys to the game for the LAC vs KC game earlier this season.

  25. Vincente Says:

    They are right though.

  26. TexBuc Says:

The “coaching code” is thou shalt not covet a coaching job currently occupied.

  27. DBS Says:

Don’t set yourself up for heartbreak. This is a show me team and always has been.

  28. TexBuc Says:

    DBS

As longtime Bucs fans this is what we do this time of the year. Draft season is right around the corner.

  29. Not there yet Says:

    @Alteredego
Poor mechanics….poor decision making….poor accuracy….have at it Arians…..the first 2 can be coached

I’m just curious if mechanics and decision making can be coached why wouldn’t improved mechanics improve accuracy? You must a have a quarterback whisperer book out also!!!!

  30. go for the face30 Says:

“Molly Querim just looks hot.” lol, that’s fantastic. Thank you for all you do Molly…

  31. DBS Says:

    @TexBuc
I use to. Been here from day 1. Just to many bad years and now coach number 12. Also to many failed players. That’s why I am cautious about this team no matter who the coach is.

  32. adam from ny Says:

  34. stpetebucsfan Says:

Stephen A Smith? Really? I have some minimal respect re his NBA knowledge…baseball and football he’s clueless.

    Joe

Props to you if you were the poor guy designated to watch this horrid show. I can’t leave it on past the time it takes to hit the remote. Thankfully the cable is now so loaded with sports offerings that I never have to watch this garbage show. Thanks for doing the dirty work for us.

  35. Mike Johnson Says:

As always, Time will tell. No hiding in this NFl. Thats what I luv about the league.
You truly are..what your record says you are. I do think this team is greatly improved in 2019.

  36. Jmarkbuc Says:

Watched “All or Nothing, The Arizona Cardinals ” on Prime video..

I recommend it for anyone who wants to know more about Arians, and his coaching style ( both good and bad)

More informative than “A Football Life”

And yes, Molly Querim Rose is hot…

  37. SenileSenior Says:

I don’t watch ESPN regularly. I didn’t know who any of the people are.

The look on Damien Woody’s face during SAS’ rant said it all. Who are the “talking heads” and who have something more to contribute with their opinions among these four?

  38. adam from ny Says:

bruce arians spotted in winn dixie this morning grabbing a 12 pack of chek cola and some ring dings…when he went to pay an old man also wearing a kangol (go figure) said he liked dirk much better…bucco bruce slapped the mustard right out of the old man – right there on the line…folks, we have got a no nonsense coach in tampa now!…sean payton better watch out if he pulls sheet in the post game handshake…

    #BuccoBruceIsOnTheLoose #MustardTime

    #MccoyIsPackingAsEyeType

  39. BurgDweller Says:

The First Take Gang does have a valid argument here. The Bucs have been through 4 coaches in the past 10 years with only one winning season. There is definitely a losing culture. Eventually, we will get the right coach to get us out of the losing culture, like Dungy did. Will it be Arians, i’m sure we all hope so but I am pessimistic.

  40. Tim Says:

SAS believes his point is more valid if he yells, but if you go look back at any of his takes very few age well.

  41. Fifty Says:

Screw Molly, she has been dogging Jameis all year. Now Joy Taylor, she’s hot… It’s hard to take any of their opinions seriously in regards to the Bucs because I don’t think they watch a single game all year unless it’s a prime time game.

  42. adam from ny Says:

    kellerman knows boxing…but that’s it…

sas knows how to rant, and knows basketball…but that’s it…

damien woody knows football…is about to climb across that table and yoke up sas…seems like woody ain’t really feelin’ sas no mo

  43. Bucs fan #7423 Says:

    Babysitters for Jamies!!!!!

  44. Fifty Says:

Joe, how come my comments are never posted? I’ve commented a few times over the last year or two and literally not a single one has made it. Is my isp blocked? 🤔 jk well sorta lol

  45. Joe Says:

    Screw Molly

    How can one arrange this?

  46. Jsmalls Says:

The only commentator that made any sense played in the league

  47. john Says:

    SAS is overrated

  48. SOEbuc Says:

Nothing personal coming just from this topic, but Stephen Arse Smith very likely is one of the national media analyst that knows jack sh!te about the Bucs except that we lose games and this other guy sounds like a JBF Jameis hater thinking every loss is Jameis’ fault. Stephen A Smith is never correct with me cus he starts yapping stupid BS and I end up changing the channel within 5 minutes.

  49. DB55 Says:

that’s a little of the old joe that was fun…. i want on that list too…

  51. Bucsace Says:

As usual BSPN and SAS suck…….his last big Bucs rant was about the unwarranted firing of Lovie Smith. LOL!!!!!

  52. tnew Says:

TRUTH is…. if the Bucs had a middle of the league Kicker (29th), a middle of the road defense (31st/points) and a middle of the road rushing attack (29th), the 8th ranked (total QBR) QB would be being interviewed about his chances for the upcoming playoff game.

  53. Tony LA Says:

    Such a dumb comment, man.
Someone’s opinion on sports has nothing to do with their political beliefs. And in no way shape or form is Kellerman an extreme leftist. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him a few times and he’s a normal, intelligent dude who gets to do what he loves every day.

I disagree with him here. But don’t need to bring up falsehoods on his politics to do so. Good luck with that wall BTW.

    🙂
    Sorry, had to.

  54. SOEbuc Says:

Plllleeeeaase stop with the Joe Maddon BS!

  55. TexBuc Says:

    Ditto what tnew said

  56. SOEbuc Says:

Molly Qerim thought the Bucs were going to win the SB before last year. And oh yeah Joe…she fine.

  57. Buc1987 Says:

    Fix the D.

  58. Sac Says:

SAS always stretching. Trying to say we had to convince him to come here even though he texted out that he was interested in the job when the season ended, before we reached out to him.

  59. Joe Says:

Trying to say we had to convince him to come here even though he texted out that he was interested in the job when the season ended, before we reached out to him.

Joe is willing to bet if you injected Licht and Arians with truth serum, these guys were talking long before the season was finished. Arians said he was only interested in the Browns job because that was the only job that was open at the time. The vast majority of coaches will not talk publicly about jobs not open.

  60. Cb13 Says:

Have to draft an OT @5 . No exceptions

  61. Cb13 Says:

Nobody listens to SAS . He just likes to hear hisself talk he’s FOS

  62. Cb13 Says:

    Jonah Williams please !!!!

  63. Cb13 Says:

Just look what Quenton Nelson has done for Marlon Mack and Andrew Luck and made All-Pro as a Rookie

    You so nasty.

  69. Old School Athlete Says:

Notice how BSPN ignores Tampa Bay sports until they find reason to insult us? Their ratings have been in steady decline for years. If you’re not an NBA fan from Boston or LA, they don’t have much to offer.

  70. JabooBuc Says:

i was for getting rid of JW based on his risky off field “activities”. However, when i hear these clowns talk about him and this team I want to go all in on him.

Do these guys know anything about anything?

  71. Coder Says:

How does this d.bag SAS keep his job? He is such an a-hole and so annoying! Loved when he told us the saints would blow out the cowboys with his blowhard dialogue.

  72. JabooBuc Says:

“The Buccaneers are another team that will have to think about a new quarterback, as they’ll have to replace their crotch-grabbing interception machine soon.”

    Walter Football Mock Draft

  73. TOM Says:

SAS is nothing more than a big mouth blow hard who thinks he’ll get his point across by yelling. ESPN is a waste of time. As far as the draft goes Jonah Williams LT should be the pick at #5. Big drop off after that.

  74. Denny Gay Says:

didn’t ESPN was still on TV….

  75. Stanglassman Says:

Suddenly the Jameis haters come out to praise the wisdom of Espn. The national media’s ignorance on the Bucs is typical. It’s obvious none of these people watch Jameis actually play the game. Once again ESPN is leader of the Jameis bashing fan club. I guess they know more than BA about QBs. BA did choose to come coach Jameis over Rogers, Baker and Darnold.

  76. macout247 Says:

    ______________

More typical LEftists comments by you.
    Kellerman is an extreme liberal.

He throws veiled racist comments towards independent thinking black men.

Kellerman blasted Woods’ remarks, saying it was a “thoughtless statement dressed up as a thoughtful statement.”

His comments are meant to construe a lack of intelligence by Tiger.
