“We Have To Be Ready To Join That Party”

December 16th, 2018

Donovan Smith, Demar Dotson, Caleb Benenoch, your invitations have arrived.

Bring your big-boy pads and don’t be late.

Offensive coordinator Todd Monken was talking Friday about facing the Ravens and twice he said, “We have to be ready to join that party.”

He was referencing the menacing physicality and aggression delivered consistently by the Ravens defense.

Monken’s point was simple: the Bucs are going to have to want to man up against arguably the NFL’s best defense, allowing just 18.5 points per game. And it’s going to be rainy and about 41 degrees at kickoff on Baltimore.

Joe will make it simpler: if the Bucs’ offensive line doesn’t want any part of a muddy dogfight, then Tampa Bay will get rolled this afternoon.

On his TAMPA TWO show, Derrick Brooks also talked about a key to the game being the Bucs’ willingness to bring their “big-boy pads.”

Man, Joe sure hopes the O-line is feeling ornery and remorseful about hanging America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, out to dry last week.

Everyone is stuck on what this Tampa defense WAS 6-7 games ago. They have come a looong way since and they will not expect the Tampa that they will play today.i expect a clash of defense.this game will come down to the 4th qtr. Jameis do your thing boy!

The Bucs left the Big-Boy Pads in the locker room at halftime in the Saints game. It’s going to be ugly. Be ready

We have no idea what sort of team will show up today…..or any day…..that is the problem. Ryan Jensen will show up but he isn’t enough.

“Its amazing watching other teams rookies and their building blocks for the future…

How the hell can you wiff on the the whole draft!

The odds of that actually to happen is miniscule. Should we be instead congratulating Gump for that difficult task? This team is a mess. 2016 and 2018 totally wiffed drafts. While teams are plugging holes with rookie starters and constantly building, we have to constantly redraft the same position. How can you build and improve a team? You cant.”

I sure hope that Jameis isn’t running for his life for the majority of the game. This offensive line has struggled against 3-4 defenses in the past, so today will be a big test for them. Let’s see if they bounce back. #ProtectMyQB

Has #3 been sacked 5 times yet?

    KobeFaker,

I think we hit on our 4th rounder Jordan Whitehead. He is always hitting somebody and making a play. I wish our LBs and DL tackled more so he didn’t have to come up and make the stop. I agree with SteveJoe, Whitehead is going to be a player.

Helps he is cousins with Revis. Stud genetics can help.

The big boy pants for Smith, Dotson, and last but certainly not least Benenoch have turned into high water pants a LOOONG time ago!

Gonna be a cold nasty day…weather

  10. SOEbuc Says:

O-line hasn’t put their BIG BOY pads on in God knows how long. Doubt our crappy players are gonna step up at the end of another non-playoff year when hopefully their entire coaching squad and front office will be wiped out in a couple of weeks.

  11. John B Says:

Cold, rainy, smash mouth run oriented team – let’s just say I have the adult beverages already pre mixed – probably not even gonna have a beer – right to the full strength pain relief!!!

Hoping for a pre Xmas miracle!!!!

  12. John B Says:

Oh and the Oline, yeah….that’s the miracle wish, they ALL play like men today

  13. GoBuxFla Says:

I would like to think that our O-Line mans up today against the Ravens. Nah, I’m still sober.

  14. AlteredEgo Says:

Hopefully Jameis can get lucky with some of his deep balls and passes to WR’s on the move

  15. Not there yet Says:

If they step up as a unit against a physical defense it will be like second or third time this year but I expect them to go turtle and get rolled. I expect Winston go unravel and throw fits on the sidelines because they are stifled on offense. That’s what I expect so if they are competitive against the ravens and lose I’ll give them credit but doubt Koetter has any clue how to game plan against the racens

Watching the Cowboys and Colts – tired of this trash…
