Flashback: Telling Video Of DJax

December 28th, 2018

Visible signs of discontent.

Some readers here wonder why — and suggest — Joe sometimes may try to make a mountain out of a molehill.

Why? Because that proverbial molehill is a sign of hidden issues.

Back in November, Joe posted video on Instagram of Bucs wide receiver DeSean Jackson racing off the field after a victory against the 49ers. Jackson was in such a hurry to disappear, that he even beat the referees off the field (it’s all in the video below) not to mention his teammates.

Josina Anderson of ESPN noted this week that issues began to “fester” between Jackson and Bucs coach Dirk Koetter after that win; Again, Joe’s video of Jackson high-tailing it off the field rather than celebrate with his teammates came immediately after the 49ers game.

It reminded Joe of when former Bucs running back LeGarrette Blount used to race off the field and into the locker room (and sometimes leave the stadium without showering) when he didn’t get his touches despite the Bucs winning.

Joe later learned Blount was often pouting when he didn’t get the ball enough, win or lose, but if he got his touches, even in a Bucs loss, he was giddy.

(And yes, it was dumb of the Bucs to unload him, which is part of the reason the Bucs are the Bucs.)

Of course, when Joe posted the Jackson video bolting off the field, some Bucs fans came at Joe claiming Joe was stirring the pot. Never mind that it was already established that Jackson was a malcontent (remember, he had previously asked for a trade and also threw America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, under the bus on national television).

So Joe was adding two-plus-two here thinking of what he knew about Blount’s actions and knowing Jackson was an established crybaby and Joe smelled something behind the scenes. That’s why Joe posted the video. Joe smelled smoke but didn’t know specifically where the fire was.

Turns out there was a helluva lot going on behind the scenes with Jackson including him clashing with Koetter that no one at the time outside of One Buc Palace knew about.

    Enough with the bitching and kvetching. Release the guy already. Bucs have enough issues without sheltering malcontents.

    Joe’s pretty confident DeSean Jackson has played his last game as a Bucs receiver.

  3. miken Says:

    We have plenty of wide recievers, not sure why Djax being djax is such a big deal, especialy since its been understood since the begining he’d be here 2 years. However, It was really stupid not to take a 3rd round pick for him at the deadline.

  4. ATrain Says:

    Hey can we see the VIDEOS of GMC Giddy after Losses

    There should be several of them

    If DJax is a problem GET RID OF HIM

    BUT if this is a sign of problems I think there are other PROBLEMS we need to get rid of

    OH can we see the video of GMC standing by himself when Winston was firing
    Up the team

    Please use the SAME MEASURING STICK FOR EVERYONE

  5. Danny Says:

    Koetter shares some of the blame here for not finding consistent ways to get him the ball (jet sweeps, screens, slants, line him up next to Jameis in the shotgun, etc.). With the above said, DJax is a bad guy and needs to go.

  6. Not there yet Says:

    Jason Licht sucks to allow things like this to happen year after year in free agency. The sad part is we won’t ever get a straight answer about the truth behind the drama. There’s just no excuse for not trading a guy of value who clearly doesn’t want to be a part of your organization.

  7. Joe Says:

    Hey can we see the VIDEOS of GMC Giddy after Losses

    If Joe sees GMC racing off the field after wins just like DJax or Blount, Joe will be happy to post the video.

    Personally, have never seen GMC in the locker room yucking it up after a loss.

  8. AlteredEgo Says:

    Another …Look over there !…Look over there !….article….the common thread in all the losses is Jameis…he is not after 4 years anything but inconsistent

  9. Bird Says:

    Hey. I heard Desean Jackson attitude is the reason Jameis can’t throw a deep ball
    A new low here even for obsessed joe.

    Ha Hahahahaha

    Pretty sure terrel Owens was hated by every teammate, especially every qb. He didn’t have trouble catching a deep ball. Constantly got behind defenders.
    He actually credited Fitz with throwing the best deep ball . Teammates nor coaches hated Djax until this week?

    WR and QB do not need to be besties. Who cares.

    Last year it was jameis shoulder.

    Now it’s desean Jackson

    Next year it will be a bad case of hemorrhoids

  10. Bird Says:

    This excuse beats a poster saying the reason Jameis can’t connect on deep ball with Desean Jackson is because DJax is too fast.

    Lamarcus knows what I am talking about.

  11. 813bucboi Says:

    why beat a dead horse?….we know he doesnt want to be here and we know he’ll be gone after the season….i understand informing the fans, but inform us of stuff we dont know….like who really pulled the plug on smitty?…we know its wasnt all dirks call….or has there been more than 1 altercation regarding winston and team mates…

    but as always, great work joe….

    #REALISTKNOWSNOTHING!!!…#ADIOSDIRK!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  12. ATrain Says:

    Really

    Wish ATrain had access to videos because I don’t think I have seen a game that GMC wasn’t smiling and slapping hand with everyone after a game

    Oh and Please checkyour archieves because Joe is the one who posted the video of GMC standing off to the side when Jamies was firing up the team

    GMC is nice so he gets a pass

    ONE MORE QUESTION: Why did Jamies have a closed door meeting with GMC a few years ago

  13. dmatt Says:

    That’s just plain selfish!! He was a cancer last year along with his pot roast eating buddy Chris Baker. This is what happens when u don’t hold certain players accountable…mutiny sinks in.Watch out for MEvans, thanks to DJax, he’s showing signs of rebelling against his coach also. Be gone DJax, Koetter n Litch because this team is outta control. Yes Jameis has his issues but never doubt his work ethics n respect for his coaches. On the Cowboys stripped fumble recover td, not one time did Winston give up running after the defender. I mean he was adamant to catch that guy. Had MEvans or DJax been stripped, I can’t c neither making the effort that Winston made. The culture of our team is soft n petty, n starts with the GM n coaches.

  14. AlteredEgo Says:

    Joebrothers
    If there’s something strange in you neighborhood
    Who you gonna blame? (DJax)
    If there’s something weird
    And it don’t look good
    Who you gonna blame? (DJax)

  15. Eric Says:

    Djax is the sort that will end up working along Leon Spinks on a work crew.

  16. SteelStudBuc Says:

    Dude dmatt… last year there were reports of Winston and Koetter had a grudge. This team has an identity crisis.

  17. Waterboy Says:

    Trade him to Jacksonville for a 7th rd pick.

  18. LakeLand Says:

    So, Jason Licht brought in Josh “puff puff pass” Huff to Tampa in 2016

    So Huff the Puffer didn’t work out

    So he brought in DeSean “meme” Jackson the following year in 2017

    So DeSean “give me the dam ball” Jackson is out in 2018

    Hmmm Interesting

  19. Bucsfan3 Says:

    DJ = TO but without the ability to dominate a Corner.

    DJ = TO but without the QB to dominate a Corner.

  21. Cgmaster27 Says:

    Alter ego, just stop praising a one trick pony. Mesean cant catch anything but wide open bombs. Gutless to go over the middle and gives zero effort to catch anything that isnt right to him. But fans like you praise a crappy teammate. Tampa fan base is an pathetic as the organization

  22. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    All of the sudden we have this avalanche of Djax attention…..At least to me, it’s been a forgone conclusion that he is gone……no matter what.

  23. AlteredEgo Says:

    Loadmaster…I am not “praising ” DJax…merely pointing out the Jamyth is HORRIBLE hitting WR’s in stride , on time, and throwing WR’s open…watch on Sunday….Jamyth throws after the WR is open and standing waiting for the ball…he is often late on timing passes and has horrible ball placement that would allow YAC but only goes down as a completion …see if you can watch Jameis objectively…because there is a massive decision the franchise needs to make and the warm and fuzzy wishful thinking days are over…

  24. Buccfan37 Says:

    So now he will go around trashing the Bucs organization as incompetent. Tell us something we didn’t already know. Another Licht swing and miss above the fray.

  25. AlteredEgo Says:

    Why ???
    No articles about the Elephant in the room ?
    Jameis’s 5th year option…..
    WHY ????

  26. BigMacAttack Says:

    Maybe DJax had to take a dump. I’m not trying to defend him but it’s quite possible. The Bucs new they were getting a diva when they signed him. This is just another one of Licht’s many FA mistakes in trying to make up for bad drafts. Jameis is Jameis too. Everyone knew his history before being drafted #1, but the Bucs again gambled and lost. You can say Jameis is great but he’s not and keeps getting worse. The results don’t show up in the win column for any of these clowns. The Bucs are a joke and the laughing stock of the NFL.

  27. Bobby M. Says:

    It all sounds like “Trade Me 101”….He wanted out, that’s usually par for the course. If we’re going to complain about professionalism….Winston blind sided the entire organization with his Uber nonsense, then lied…lied some more…before once again reaching a settlement.

  28. Tampa Bay Demon Says:

    Bird: “a bad case of hemorrhoids”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  29. cobraboy Says:
    Losing is what causes dissention in lockerrooms, not one player.
    I appreciate a player who gets pissed at losing.
    I am not giving Jackson a pass, but he is not why the team is losing.
  30. Bucsfan Says:
    How he didn’t throw your pride and joy under the bus…. He simply said ride the hot hand of Fitz who was the first qb ever to throw for 400 yards in 3 straight games…. Your way to defensive of Winston sometimes!
  31. Chris Cotten Says:
    Trade him to the Toronto Argonauts for a 6 pack of Labatts
  32. calbucsfan Says:
    Yep, remember this video very well Joe, it didn’t sit well with me either, but who knew, other than DJ…
  33. Bob in Valrico Says:
    Milken says: We have plenty of wide receivers. Amen to that. Not sure if Reedy is still on the practice squad. There’s probably eight wide receivers on the both the regular roster and practice squad. Thats probably why we don’t any depth at
    LB,corner or safety. Fill in the roster and practice squad with some DB’s and
    LB’s. This should improve our special teams and give us more depth in the back 7.
    Jason Licht loves his receivers and has left the cupboard bare on defense.
  34. Pierce Says:
    It’s interesting to think that Licht made a mistake getting this guy. I thought it was a solid pick up, but Jackson never fit in. I wonder if Licht didn’t do his homework and picked the flashy FA rather than someone who’d been a better fit in Dirk’s system and coaching philosophy.
