Let The Coach Shopping Begin

November 11th, 2018

Team Glazer members Bryan and Ed should have a busy planning week

Forget for a minute that the Bucs are 3-6 and nestled in Buccaneers Cove, aka last place in the NFC South.

The Bucs just put up three points at home with an array of offensive weapons, including a healthy starting offensive line. Inexcusable — especially in a do-or-die game like today was.

It’s over now for Dirk Koetter, barring a football miracle of historic proportions. His 2019 Bucs future is a fantasy.

Hey, Koetter gave it his best shot, but the Bucs are on a 9-19 run since their 2016 winning streak. The team, collectively, is getting worse and he’s not getting the most out of his talent.

The defense is horrific and Koetter said Friday that he won’t mandate anything on that side of the ball. As for the special teams, they’re not special and Koetter refused to order the kicker fired weeks ago, which should have happened.

What else is there? Oh yeah, the quarterback situation has been completely bungled and the Bucs are not a physical team on either side of the ball.

Team Glazer needs to start working the phones.

    We have 6-10 talent
    We are on point

  5. Bucs fan #7423 Says:

Dirk “Season is over by Halloween “ Koetter LOL

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Dirk did not cause those turnovers. Dirk is not calling plays. Dirk is not running the defense.

So no…I do not blame him.

Put Winston back in, because Fitz is retiring anyway and Winston needs to break free of the rut he is in.

  7. Kalind Says:

Yea. Just let him go now, let Monken audition

  8. Sharkiebucfan Says:

    yay!!!!!!!!!

  9. Robert G Ernest Says:

480 yards (?) of offense and 3 points. The announcers are trying to see where that ranks on the all time bad performance list.

  10. Vincente Says:

Man. This team really has quit. I wanna quit. What am i still doing here.

  11. Kalind Says:

Winston should take every snap he can this year.

  12. BigMacAttack Says:

Hire a GM first, then coach. Licht sucks more than Koetter. Still can’t understand why he didn’t play Jameis to start the second half. May have had a different outcome. Koetter doesn’t care neither do his players.

  13. Kalind Says:

McCoy, David, Grimes, Gholston, Allen, DSmith, Dotson, Benenoch, Barber, Fitz, DJax, Brate should all be gone at the end of the year.

  14. THETRUTH Says:

How can you not have a interception by now !!!

  15. Pat Says:

DK fits the definition of the Peter principle perfectly: An employee is promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent,

  16. Easy Says:

Glazers should fire themselves. Sell to someone who cares about American football and move the franchise out of Florida.

  17. Curse of Gruden Says:

Fire Koetter before he reaches the locker room.

  18. ATrain Says:

The last pictures says it all

  19. Destinjohnny Says:

    We have 6-10 talent
    Why is Anyone surprised?

  20. BucfaninMi Says:

    FIRE EVERYONE!!!!

  21. DBS Says:

He should be fired tomorrow period. If for nothing else that to make a point and show the owner care.

  22. buddy Says:

Clean out the whole football side of things. Its all of Dirks guys, Equipment staff he hired his buddie who is a snitch that the players don’t trust, Trainers are left-overs from Lovie, Strength staff is left over from Lovie, Dirk fired long time Video guys. The entire football side of the building has a bad culture due to Dirk you have to fire them ALL.

  23. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Since the season is over, they gotta PLAY JAMEIS now to see if he is worth an extension……………..that’s just smart management football

  24. TJ Says:

Turnovers were huge but why did dirk take over play calling

  25. Tom S. Says:

Start with the housecleaning by getting the Glazer Babies to sell the team. When remotely competent ownership takes control then you’ll see decent people running things.

  26. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

    Saban as GM/HC

  27. Arealbucsfan Says:

    Matt lafluer!!

  28. TheBucsAnthem Says:

The Glazers never fire coaches during the season

  29. Frank813 Says:

There’s an old saying.. it’s not always the Xs and Os it’s the Jim’s and Joes….. Jason Licht ..still here. Dirk is a casualty of his personnel…

  30. Mike Johnson Says:

Rumor has it..A Mayflower truck was seem in front of Koetters home this morning.

  31. WalkdaPlank Says:

    There’s no defending him anymore…

  32. Alaskan Abdominal Snowman Says:

That’s what happens Dirk when you hitch your wagon to a journeyman QB instead of having faith in the guy you were supposedly developing for 3 years.
You deserve to be replaced, this is embarrassing.

  33. Sbucs Says:

Embarrassing. Out coached, out played. Clean house.

  34. DislocatedBucsFan Says:

idk about firing Koetter. Licht must go. I wouldnt be upset if it happened. Just idk what the right call is. The D is getting better. DC should stay. Shoot make him HC. IDK, this was a weird game from start to finish. I am not sure what to call it. We all know fitz is fitz and will never be an answer for us. Jameis to me, has proven time and time again that he is inaccurate and a turnover machine. Therefore, he cannot be the answer.

  35. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    I like Koetter

……….but somehow, the message he’s preaching is getting lost somewhere

  36. cmurda Says:

@Bonzai. There’s no choice for Fitz. None of the other 31 teams are dumb enough to have him on their roster let alone actually give him snaps. That’s also true for Benenoch, Quizz, Evan Smith etc. I could go on and on. The talent is on this roster but Dirk is getting nothing out of it and he’s made his own bed. Are you going to tell me that Quizz is a better choice over Wilson? We don’t even know what Wilson would do out there because Dirk has to have his pets instead. I’ve had it with his personnel decisions and his failure to demand accountability. I thoroughly enjoyed Dirk’s answer to the question of D Jax returning punts. He’s got the green light whenever he wants. No, efftard let me tell you how it goes Dirk. Desean get ready for punt returns. You’re going out there.

  37. Sbucs Says:

    Embarrassing

  38. Coburn Says:

When they can move the ball at will but stall in red zone it’s not talent or being outplayed.. it’s just not wanting it that much. Team had quit and no reason to keep people around til end of season

  39. ElioT Says:

The Glaziers need to make a bold move and let Koetter go this evening.

There is ZERO reason to go the rest of the season when everyone knows what’s going to happen on Black Monday.

It’s really in Koetters best interest as well, he’s done all he can do.

Give Dirk a head start on a much needed vacation and turn this team upside down under anyone else to see how many born losers fall out.

This is just madness how innovative this franchise is at finding new lows week after week, year after year.

    #seigetheapathy

  40. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Koetter didn’t drop all them passes

    Koetter didn’t fumble the ball

    Koetter didn’t miss any kicks

    Koetter just coached

  41. YucLife Says:

The offensive and defensive line is a joke ? Yes the coach needs to go, but what about the players because a make shift offensive line stopped the most priciest defensive line. Also Smith, Marpet, and Jensen are pathetic !!

  42. DislocatedBucsFan Says:

Anthem, if you do than and he’s awful he’ll have zero trade value. We have the rights for next year if I am not mistaken and therefore should be able to trade him in the offseason. If goes out there and plays like he normally does his value is a 4th rounder at best.

  43. Bcelephants Says:

If Koetter doesn’t at the very least Fire the Kicker and there is no reason to keep staring Fitzptatrick at this point, Start Winston the rest of the season, he needs to be evaluated for next season. If Koetter won’t at least do that then Move on from him now!

  44. Bucs76 Says:

    GM first and then HC

  45. Capt Kidd Says:

I like Koetter, but he’s too soft. I’d fire him tonight and promote Monken, and put Winston back in. We need to see what we really have

  46. Rod Munch Says:

Dirk put all his eggs in the Fitz wagon, and Fitz got him 3 points.

    Dirk is a dummy.

  47. MadMax Says:

Fire him and put JW back in and let him call the plays….do whatever he wants.

It wont work and we’ll get high draft picks for the new coach!

  48. America’s turnover machine Says:

One thing about this off-season I’ll like is that we’re getting a new QB regardless. Fitz is definitely leaving after this season. Hopefully Jameis too

  49. Alaskan0832 Says:

Absolutely pathetic. Vomit inducing performance. If this doesnt get koetter canned…..nothing will. Truely awful.

  50. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Yeah

I see your point in not playing Jameis……….but that’ll be a Glazer call………..not KOetter or Licht

  51. YucLife Says:

Offensive line and the defensive line are a joke !!

  52. Rod Munch Says:

Gruden’s fake punt is 1000x better than Dirk’s fake punt.

  53. TheBucsAnthem Says:

no one really care about Gruden

  54. Who Knows Says:

This is a poorly put together team you draft a two down defensive tackle , you could have had Derwin James , draft mistake after mistake.

He takes free agent defensive lineman that could not even get by a third team offensive line that the Redskins put out there today and let’s not forget the kicker he drafted in the second round.

  55. Rod Munch Says:

Throw your 24-year old franchise QB under the bus and go all in with Fitz who gives you a 3 point effort.

Dirk needs to be fired, immediately.

  56. Fire Goodell Says:

What competent coach would want to take this job?

  57. Coburn Says:

Yeah Fitz made a lot of mistakes but you’re missing the whole point here. The team flag out quit and didn’t have any killer instinct. They just didn’t want it that bad. That’s on the coach. Moment you lose the locker room it’s over. Coaching staff might ad well pwkc their bags. Can scrutinice talent if you want but offense can move the ball when they want to. Light probably should go but lack of Wang to is on the coaches

  58. LifeLongBucsFan Says:

Fire them canno….. oh wait, Fire the Head Coach and GM…. Fire Everyone, including the Owners. At least the 1976 Bucs had an excuse being an expansion team. Current day Bucs just plain s*ck. Once again, another “rebuilding” year. How many days until Pitchers and Catchers meet? Come on Baseball…

  59. BucsFan90 Says:

Klueless gave up on Jameis after 1 loss. Yet FitzTragic is 0-4 in his last 4 starts lol

  60. Knoxville Buc Fan Says:

Joel Ed and family are ordering all the key cards to the Buccaneer Palace to be cut off and a Semi with a flat bed full of PODS is at the gate… time to clean house. Throw their A$$ES out today! Bring in double Nickel to finish off these next 7 games on a trial basis… wtf Ya gonna do Glazers?

  61. Mike Johnson Says:

Show us you got BALLS Glaziers. Fire Koetter before he does his post game conference.

  62. America’s turnover machine Says:

I’m gonna go on a tirade and flat out say our ownership sucks @ss. Literally they do not CARE ABOUT THE PRODUCT ON THE FIELD! In a way they’re literally businessmen who don’t care about the fans. Only their wallets they pocket money from. Ever since 2007 they have not done a single worthy thing to make then decent owners in the slightest. They hire the sloppy scraps from bottle of the barrel teams expecting some magical Sh*t show to happen. It’s a miracle we even won a Super Bowl with these morons. They need to do everyone in the Tampa Bay Area a huge favor and resign from the franchise or sell it to someone who’ll actually give a dam

  63. Troy Says:

The GM needs to be fired now and the search needs to be done before the end of the season. This way, the new GM can hire the new coach

  64. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    I’ll say it again:

Koetter didn’t drop all them passes

    Koetter didn’t fumble the ball

    Koetter didn’t miss any kicks

    Koetter just coached

  65. JabooBuc Says:

Oh look, there’s another great play by Derwin James.

  66. Bucs14 Says:

While we’re at it. Can we change the name to the Tampa Bay Browns?

  67. SOEbuc Says:

Pull a Raiders and bomb the rest of the season. Trade players like DJax, LVD, Brate for picks before the draft. Top LB or CB in the first round. Defensive minded HC with playoff experience. Pay a vet safety or CB or both. Draft a BPA DT in the second round, RG in the third and bring in vets to see who can when the battle. Pretty sure Licht is gone, also.

Might as well put Jameis in now. This is not smart by not giving him more reps. Some might hope he gets injured and we can get outta his 5th year option lol.

    Round and round we go.

  68. Rod Munch Says:

Well Gruden made up for the good fake punt call with a garbage 4th and goal call. You need like 2 feet and you go to shotgun, what an idiot.

  69. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    LOL

Hey, we got Vita Velcro….good ol fat n slow

WHO CARES about a playmaker Derwin James?????

  70. WalkdaPlank Says:

    BucsAnthem

Can you explain the challenge flag blunder for the second week in a row? Or not taking a shot at the end of the half? Or continuing to rely on the kicker when we all know he’s gonna miss?

  71. LakeLand Says:

Well they had 500 yards of offense

These “Stats” happy fans will be SHOUTING

We have the best offense in the NFL

They don’t care about the 3 points
They don’t care about the 3-6 record
All they care about is the passing yards and the offensive stats

  72. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    good idea SOEbuc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  73. PSLBob Says:

Yeah, get rid of Koetter. Let’s let Jameis coach the team.

  74. Patrick in SC (formerly VA) Says:

I was indifferent about the idea of firing him before this week. If it happened then I wouldn’t argue but I wasn’t in the camp of getting rid of him. I changed my mind today. It’s time for him to go. The team has quit. They aren’t playing passionately and they look like they just want to leave

  75. Rod Munch Says:

The Winston bashers who went full in on Fitz are now all talking about how QB play isn’t the issue. LOL!

  76. Bangkok Buc Says:

The Glazers suck at hiring GMs
Should they not look to hire a team president who can then handle that responsibility?

  77. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ WalkdaPlank

Yeah……..that’s a coaches blunder for real…..pretty bad, neva seen a coach do that before

  78. JJV Says:

Let’s stop already with the fantasy of the Glazers fixing anything with changes. They need to sell the franchise to an ownership that has the ability to produce a winning organization. Otherwise we will continue to suffer with dysfunction and losing. The one factor in all the years losing has been the Glazers. But yeah, good plan to continue to change GM, coach, players each cycle. The results are not too difficult to predict. Let’s do it all over again.

  79. lurker Says:

rod munch needs to move on. he is all lost.

  80. LakeLand Says:

You can’t call them the Tampa Bay Browns

The Browns beat the Falcons today

  81. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    the Glazers aren’t selling

  82. Coburn Says:

Pretty sure Derwin James would somehow suck on this team. Probably just give up like everyone else

  83. PSLBob Says:

Lakeland, the old saying that stats are for losers, couldn’t be more true as it applies to the Bucs!

  84. El_Buc941 Says:

Dirk has gone soft on the team, I knew it the minute he said desean has “the greenhouse” to return punts. That true new he’s letting players do what they want. I personally say for everyone, back up the brinks truck to Bill parcels crib and get him for GM and do the same for Jimmy Johnson.

  85. gambelero Says:

Fire Koetter tomorrow. Let’s see what Monken can do. Let’s see what Jameis can do. The Glazers have a huge decision to make on him.

Our offense is still still lights out in every metric that doesn’t have to do with scoring points (pretend the sarcasm font is on scoring fonts). He was the one who showed what can be done. A new coach will have a whole new system offensively. Give Monken the reins. If the offense is doing great, you can bring in a top of the market defensive coordinator or offer him the head coaching job and leave the offensive coaches except for Warhop alone.

Finally, how many times has a team gone over 500 yards and scored only three points? Like never?

  86. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    LOL

    Ok

    The TAMPA BAY DOOKIE BROWNS……….

    There, better?????

  87. lurker Says:

i do hope the raiders and others get more wins so we have a better draft pick for the new staff

    we need a quarterback badly

  88. TJ Says:

Lavonte David did not quit he came back from injury and almost caused a fumble.

  89. MTM Says:

Unfortunately the same idiot owners will once again hire make the same mistake hiring coach and GM. NFL ownership is one of the only products that you can be abysmal year and year without consequences of losing your business. Teams like the Bucs will be the demise of the NFL. The team should seriously be sold effective immediately. Fans should boycott until they’re gone. The Bucs are impossible to watch they are so awful from top to bottom.

  90. SOEbuc Says:

    @TheBucsAnthem

    “Koetter just coached”

    He’s coached a 9-19 since 2016. That’s not good coaching.

  91. Rod Munch Says:

LakeLand – I love stats, all in on stats. Another stat, Winston was getting 29.6 points per game, Fitz got 3 points today. If you compare the last 3 starts of each Winston is still at 29.6 points per game, but Fitz drops to 13.6 points per game, that’s 16 points less per game!

Fitz also didn’t help my daily fantasy team with 3 turnovers and no TDs.

  92. Elita Vita Says:

New York Giants are happy in the sense that they will have 2 very high draft choices in 2019 in the the 3rd round via the JPP trade and the top 6 draft choice the Buccaneers will provide them

  93. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ SOEbuc

Oh, I agree……..im not defending his record

but today alot of it was on the players clearly

    Have they quit??????

  94. Troy Says:

    I’ll say it again:

Koetter didn’t bring in a kicker to replace that thing we currently have.

Koetter doesn’t teach ball protection and basic football.

And before anyone says it’s not his responsibility, I’ll tell you that you’re wrong. He’s responsible as the coach.

  95. Dapostman Says:

Well let’s see if the Koetter experiment with sitting Winston will come to fruition. Let’s see if Winston has learned to protect the ball better and not try to save this train wreck team because they can not be saved! Just do YOUR job Winston and get paid! Do not try to rescue these scrubs. If you lose you lose but throw the ball away. Play QB the right way starting NOW.

  96. Wausa Says:

Maybe the worst handling of a QB situation in NFL history.
Get rid of this guy now
    He’s awful
Let’s see what a good coach can do with Jamies and the rest of the bucs personnel

  97. JJV Says:

    The Glazers are not selling.
*Never say never* Anything is possible. We have a better chance of winning hoping for a miracle than doing the cycle change once again with the owners remaining the same.

  98. cmurda Says:

@Fire Goodell. Are you kidding me? Any competent coach would want to coach this team. You certainly need a Head Coach that’s defensive minded or a great D Coord because the defense needs attention but the offense is loaded with young weapons.

  99. Bobby M. Says:

Perfect example Winston’s stats are garbage. Fire Licht/Koetter…let next coach decide if they want Monken, Buckner, Winston, etc. Results oriented business, they’ve all failed…time to move on.

  100. gambelero Says:

Since this is the thread of the day, I’m going to rate the “must-read” posts after we get to 200. Make sure to come back later and read those threads. And mine won’t be one of them…

  101. TheBucsAnthem Says:

now now now TROY………….you don’t know what Koetter preaches in meetings

  102. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Rod, I know Winston didn’t get 29.6 against the Browns and Bengals so he must have got at least 50 last year against the Saints.

  103. Gettinthebucs Says:

We’re gonna lose to the Giants 😂😂😂

  104. Doc Says:

The Bucs Are Cursed, the coach Smith curse lives on. These Backstabbing coach’s and G.M. will finish last again. Will not win until the curse is removed, which will happen when this staff is gone.

  105. Sean Says:

Everybody’s favorite quarterback should be Ryan Griffin. Lets see what he can do. We know what we DON’T have in the other guys.

  106. TheBucsAnthem Says:

we probably will lose to the giants

  107. TheBucsAnthem Says:

so what is this curse of Lovie Smith?????????????????

  108. TOM Says:

The hell with Winston start Griffin next week. Forget Saban he was already a bust in the NFL.

  109. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Yeah people forgot about Saban screwing the NFL many moons ago

  110. Rod Munch Says:

People complaining about the Glazers clearly didn’t live through the Culverhouse era. Glazers problem is they’re not football people and they do stuff like ask Bill Belichick about guys like Schiano. Do you really think Belichick is going to give you good advice? Sure, not the same division or anything, but Belichick isn’t going to ever help any other team (and personally I love that, I wish we had coaches that when asked for advice would give bad advice on purpose to tank other teams).

  111. Elita Vita Says:

The team has given up on both sides of the ball.
Dirk Koetter has now completely lost the team.
Even Dirk himself looks like he might rather be digging potatoes in Ireland or at least Idaho.
He May want someone to put him out of his misery.

  112. SilverBuc Says:

Well from his press conference, sounds like Koetter is intentionally trying to get fired….why would you hitch your wagon to Fitz Dirk?

  113. richardtyson Says:

Didn’t get to see the game. Was Alex Smith holding a basket of fried fish cause I saw Vita Vea got a sack.

  114. BucfaninMi Says:

    Right on Tom

  115. Peter FromBklyn Says:

What coach throws a challenge flag with zero timeouts, 2:02 left on the game clock, and costs the team 15 yards?

    …and unemployed coach

  116. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Vita Vea didn’t get a sack……..Nassib got there first before Vita Velcro

  117. DBS Says:

We can get a better draft pick position. But who and how are they going to F that up?

  118. theodore Says:

Koetter just needs to make his 10th game adjustment. The first nine were scripted.

  119. LakeLand Says:

Dirk Koetter will probably the Bengals OC next season

I’m sure he’s tired of this headache in Tampa

  120. JJV Says:

Good ideas. Fire GM, coaches, change players Glazers. The owners have a vision and plan that will eventually work . They believe therefore we need to have faith in them.

  121. Stevbobucsfan Says:

Bucs need to go after Harbaugh weather he’s fired or not Koetter has lost this team and I don’t see any better coaching prospect out than Harbaugh

  122. TheBucsAnthem Says:

We all know Koetter won’t be here in 2019

  123. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Glad I didn’t pay to watch the “game” this week. Can’t wait till next September.

  124. BucsFan90 Says:

Klueless still doesn’t know how challenge flags work. How the fook did this utter moron become a HC?

  125. richardtyson Says:

Ah, NFL stats show he had a sack. I knew it was to good to be true.

  126. Architek Says:

    Go Bucs Go

  127. Rod Munch Says:

Winston last 4 starts: Bucs 2-2
Fitz last 4 starts: Bucs 0-4

  128. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Nassib should be credited with the sack

  129. Ndog Says:

But but but I thought it was all Jameis’s fault?

  130. LakeLand Says:

    FitzTragic

    Has been teasing his followers

  131. T REX Says:

Hey Rod go play in traffic. You are a waste of a human being. Have fun with your Winston blow up doll. Loser.

  132. lurker Says:

“People complaining about the Glazers clearly didn’t live through the Culverhouse era. Glazers problem is they’re not football people and they do stuff like ask Bill Belichick about guys like Schiano. Do you really think Belichick is going to give you good advice? Sure, not the same division or anything, but Belichick isn’t going to ever help any other team (and personally I love that, I wish we had coaches that when asked for advice would give bad advice on purpose to tank other teams).”
    —————————————————-

i actually agree with rod munch. the culverhouse era was… (shudder)
malcolm actually paid and gave up a lot for gruden and to get over the hump for the superbowl. they still spend a lot and let their football people operate mostly freely. they want to win. culverhouse was always counting pennies.

  133. JJV Says:

The question is how can we continue to lose for so long with such strong ownership. A team is only as good as their leadership. Something just doesn’t add up.

  134. theodore Says:

Koetter just needs to make his 10th game adjustments.

  135. King C Says:

    From @gregauman
Dirk Koetter says he handled playcalling today for first time this season.

  136. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    IT IS ALL JAMEIS FAULT

YOUR FORMER #1 OVERALL PICK IS AN NFL BUST

…..and he just set this franchise back 6 to 8 years

  137. denjoe Says:

Take Jason Licht with you dirk!

  138. lurker Says:

    greg auman also said:

“Dirk Koetter said he’ll consider starting Jameis Winston next week at Giants but won’t decide today, nor will he decide today on Catanzaro’s future.”

  139. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Rod, what about points? Oh yea, that didn’t hold up. I really don’t care about Winston or Fitz anymore. Alex Smith would have scored 40 with our weapons. We need a new GM, coaching staff and QB. It would help if we could hold onto the ball and make kicks too.

  140. LakeLand Says:

Derwin James has 7 tackles in the 1st quarter

    5 Solo Tackles

  141. adam from ny Says:

since conte got mushed and punked on mnf we are basically
0-7…the season ended when conte got freight trained on mnf….i do not consider the browns game a victory…it was so weird…and most fans didn’t feel like it was a win at the end of the game…we are basically 0-7 since the first 2 games when we caught teams sleeping early in the season…

    attention glazers:

let catanzarro and koetter go tomorrow – so the fans still know you care about this team…no need to hang onto him any longer…let monken take over for a bit – it’s best for the moment

  142. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    kicker should be fired period

  143. Dre Says:

    Dork koetter

  144. Rod Munch Says:

When Pittsburgh loses again in the 1st round of the playoffs the Bucs need to make a hard run at Tomlin – make a legit effort to get him. Homegrown talent, the one the Glazers are obsessed that they let get away, so bring him back.

Short of a major play like that the Bucs need to build some good will with the city, so figure out how you can bring Dungy back in some capacity. Also talk with Brooks and Barber about being GM, give them a serious interview.

Finally figure out some way to get Warren Sapp involved with things, personally I’d make him the team overlord, so he could just walk around the building and do and say anything he wanted to, to anyone, including the GM, with no fear of being fired. I’d want him going into meetings telling guys they suck, going to the GM telling him he sucks, telling the young guys how the coaches are full of garbage and this is what you do, etc. Give Sapp full power to fire people as well. I love that idea. Sure the words hurt crowd would get their panties in a bunch and the millennial players wouldn’t know what to do when someone talked trash to them instead of giving them a trophy, but man, it would be awesome. Also film everything, 24/7, everything, with live cameras everywhere.

  145. TheBucsAnthem Says:

nah who would want derwin james

when we got fat slow vita velcro

  146. Doc Says:

look at the team record and disray this team is in, that is the curse of Coach Smith.

  147. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Lurker, Malcolm is gone, and just because the Culverhouse era was worse, doesn’t mean the the current Glazers era is good.

  148. tmaxcon Says:

Glazers have no intention of fielding a respectable product. what makes you think any coach with half a brain would even consider this franchise based on nearly 2 decades of dysfunctional failure. There are high school coaching jobs in texas that are far more prestigious than coaching the worst professional sports franchise on planet earth. Glazers simply don’t care. 4 or 5 bad years is a slump nearly two decades of dysfunctional embarrassing football is not even trying. It hardly makes Tampa bay Buccaneers an attractive job for anyone much less a winner with choices.

  149. DBS Says:

Your problem with your Glazer theory is Daddy. He had the brains. The rest of us see Culverhouse all over again. A garbage , laughing stock franchise. The kids do Not have the brains to run this team.

  150. Heavye Says:

How many TO’s did #14, have today? but He makes everyone better on this team!!! Lol…. better come up with a new nickname for him. Suckers!!!!

  151. Jonathan Lipnicki Says:

With Licht’s Out, Dirk all but done…time to see if Winston can be salvaged.

  152. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Doc, we’ve been cursed long before Smith was fired. Call it the Kiffen curse. Our D has been trash since the day he announced he was leaving. 9-3 to 9-7 says it all. All downhill after that.

  153. JJV Says:

Successful winning franchises have strong ownership. Sorry fans, we don’t have either.

  154. BucEmUp Says:

    Bruce Arians, DERICK brooks

  155. Rod Munch Says:

BuccaneEric75 – I’ve literally covered points per game many times, but since you asked I’ll update the numbers to include this game…

Winston average this year, 29.6 points per game.
Fitz average this year, 23.8 points per game.

Points against when Winston starts, 31.3 points per game
Points against when Fitz starts, 32.8 points per game (including today)

So the Bucs, for the year, score more under Winston and give up less points under Winston.

On average the Bucs lose by 1.7 points per game if Winston starts, and under Fitz they lose by an average of 9 points per game.

  156. stvcl Says:

That performance right there cost Coach Koetter his job. Sorry dude…when your team lays an egg like that there’s no other choice. Walk the plank.

  157. lurker Says:

the glazers spend money on players and coaches. they are generally hands off and they let their football people operate. we could do worse. they need a football person in between them and the gm.

  158. DBS Says:

And all our FAMOUS QUITERS that quit when Monte said he was leaving.

  159. Heavye Says:

    It’s the Doug Williams curse…..

  160. JJV Says:

We could do worse. Sorry, we could do better. Until we do, nothing will change. Only another cycle with the same ownership.

  161. bucanation Says:

Dbs u should knock that dik out of your mouth and u support the team on your own 3 years dude and its worse

  162. cgmaster Says:

Rod you can put up all the numbers and the anti jameis crowd will just ignore them. Their fitztragic savior turned into what those of us who have watched any football in the last 10 years knew he was.

  163. Ndog Says:

    IT IS ALL JAMEIS FAULT

YOUR FORMER #1 OVERALL PICK IS AN NFL BUST

…..and he just set this franchise back 6 to 8 years

This is priceless the guy doesn’t play and you blame him. Classic clueless fan, I love how unbelievably dumb you are.

  164. SkBucsFan Says:

We’re now playing for draft picks. Typical November Buc football

  165. Season Is Over Says:

No one is talking about Dirk “We were done before Halloween” Koetter admitting he took over play calling today. Who knows how long that has really been going on. It showed. That much is sure.

  166. aj Says:

Nassib did get credited with the sack.

Vea got credited one later in the game when Alex Smith fell down. He was the first to touch him.

  167. lurker Says:

install dungy as president of football ops between ownership and the gm. have him in charge of hiring or firing the gm. bring in brooks and barber if he wants.

no to sapp. too many off field issues too.

  168. Bucs14 Says:

Koetter’s press conference after the game….ooofa. He sounds like he is expecting to be fired and is actually looking forward to it to relieve his agony. Man he sounded like he has given up.

  169. T REX Says:

    Griffin before Winston

    Winston sucks donkey d.

I hope all these Winston losers leave next year with him. He sucks out loud.

  170. GhostofSchiano Says:

Just heard at the presser that Dork took over play calling from Monken! WHY???

  171. JJV Says:

He was the first to touch him. Actually, he got lucky that the QB stuck to him like velcro.

  172. Season Is Over Says:

People are still harping over Winston? Yes, Fitz missed opportunities galore. Are we acting like Winston didn’t embarrass the whole organization forcing his own benching with the inane amount of interceptions he was throwing?

  173. BigMacAttack Says:

Donovan Smith is a horrible left tackle. Watching him late let guys go right around him to Fitz. This O line is complete joke just like the majority of the team.

  174. DBS Says:

Hiding behind a keyboard bucnation? I have supported the team from the beginning. And other than a few years it has sucked in every way you can think of!!!!

  175. GhostofSchiano Says:

If the Glazers gave just half a crap about this organization koetter would be fired tomorrow at the latest. Catanzo also.

  176. NPRSageBoy Says:

Koetter said he had his reasons for taking over the play calling from Monken. It’s called his arse is on fire from the hot seat.
Either way, this season is over. Play JayMiss and surrender

  177. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

    Season is Over

Well, now that the season is actually over, we need to see what we have in Winston. These final 7 games will indicate whether Jameis Winston will carry over into the new coaching staff and management.

  178. Bosch Says:

Koetter and Licht are equally ineffective in their respective roles. But the Glazers will replace them with an equally ineffective HC and GM. Finally, I am seeing posts on this site where fans are recognizing that the Glazers are the origin of this long sordid history of Buccaneer failure. Historically bad defense. Scoring points at a rate of .006 per yard. The Gazer are EMBARRASSING this community. The only solution is to force them to sell the team. How is that done? MASSIVE BOYCOTT!!! Everyone cancels their season tickets. Do not buy Bucs merchandise. Then and only then will they realize they have no choice but to sell.

BTW – you can continue to visit Joes site. The Glazers receive no benefit from that.

  179. GhostofSchiano Says:

Our QBs are good for 2-4 picks a game and our kicker is good for at least 2 misses a game. So sick of this$#!*. Redskins fans behind me got giddy every time our kicker took the field. Frustrated

  180. Heavye Says:

Keep #14 in so we can go 3-13!!!!

  181. Season Is Over Says:

This seeing what Winston is in the last seven games argument is ridiculous. What the hell have you been watching for the last four years? Yes, we know what Winston is going to do. He could come out like he did the past few games or light it up. It is a 50/50 shot. I want QB that gives you a 75/25 shot. Is that too much to ask?

  182. gambelero Says:

Bonzai, Pat, buddy, captn kidd, jjv, coeburn, dapostman, ndog, ghost of schiano are the winners through 200 posts. Those are the must-reads. Several usually good posters off their game on this thread.

  183. orlbucfan Says:

There’s your problem right there: inbred ownership. How do you fix it?

  184. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Rod, Winston is not averaging 29 points per game this season. Where are you getting your numbers from? We scored less than 29 in each Winston start except for the Bengals game when Fitz was putting up the points. What am I missing here?

  185. JimmyJack Says:

If we can’t get a real NFL coach in here I suggest moving to London.

Just put us fans out of our misery.

  186. PaulW Says:

    Koetter’s failings as coach:

    1) Overseeing a horrific Red Zone offensive gameplan, we went 0 FOR 5 in scoring range. And he was playcalling on offense today, so THAT is on him.

I have to ask, were we able to key onto OJ or Evans in that zone, as our clutch receivers in those situations we should have schemes to work that way. But we don’t.

Do we even have a running gameplan for anything inside the 5-yard-line?! We have just ONE rushing TD out of our RBs right now. Most other short-yard TDs were QB scrambles.

    2) The inability to understand how challenge flags work. Today’s faux pas wasn’t the first time he’s done that.

    3) The overall intensity and focus of players. I know it’s a long game and a long season, but from what I see onscreen I’m just seeing a couple plays here and there where guys are phoning it in.

  187. PaulW Says:

For anybody complaining about Fitz’s poor performance today – even with the 400 yards – I dare you to explain how Jameis “Lemme Force Another Bad Throw Into Coverage For Ya OOPS INT PICK 6” Winston could have done better.

Our QB options tonight is currently worse than the Jets’. /cries

  188. Dapostman Says:

    Thank You Gambelero!

  189. Kansas95Buc Says:

    @Rod Munch
The comment about Sapp being the overlord is hilarious af🤣. At this point what do we have to lose?

  190. AKickInTheBucNuts Says:

    See the Suck.

    Feel the Suck.

    Embrace the Suck.

    It’s a Sucks Life!

  191. Buccaneerscotty Says:

Put in Winston so we can cut him and fire everyone lmao

  192. Nate Says:

Glazers never fire a coach in season……well no wonder you never get the right coach and fire one every 3 years

You always get the last of the bunch

What’s the definition of doing something over and over again and getting a different result????

    Insanity….yupp

  193. Nate Says:

    expecting a different result *

  194. Irish Buc Says:

Start with GM. Someone who would bring resistivity to the position….. Enter Mr. D Brooks

  195. Jsmalls Says:

Licht still jumping in his pool?

  196. charles Stevens Says:

Dirk Knows offense ,just not personnel .Kicker issues can be blamed for at least two losses.
On the d-line with the exception of G.M.C ,J.P.P and Nassib in my opinion I dont see anyone earning the big money Licht handed out over the off season.
Never mind, Im so disgusted,What a crappy season. This makes for about the 36th crappy season. Too much to bare.Walking the plank!!!
