Former Bucs TE Fears For O.J.

November 18th, 2018

Injury concern.

John Gilmore was a tight end that logged 10 years in the NFL, three with the Bucs playing for Chucky and Raheem Morris.

When he watched Bucs tight end O.J. Howard have to be helped off the field and heard it was an ankle injury, Gilmore said it sure looks like the Bucs’ stud tight end might be missing some time.

Gilmore, speaking on the Bucs postgame show heard on WXTB-FM 97.9, believes Howard very well could have a high ankle sprain and that means missed games.

“Those things don’t go away,” Gilmore said of a high-ankle sprain. He said he has had his ankle rolled up before and that’s exactly what it looked like happened to Howard. And if it is a high ankle sprain for Howard, “You are going to miss some time.”

Gilmore noted that with a high ankle sprain, it will linger with Howard the rest of the season and it is just a matter of pain tolerance and being medically cleared for him to get back on the field.

If that’s case shut him down for the season. Dude is beast. Bucs are playing for draft positioning anyways

  2. Easy Says:

He should just go on IR. It’s a lost season

  3. Nprbuc Says:

Sit him. No sense in him playing anymore this year.

  4. LakeLand Says:

    The season is over anyway

  15. Rod Munch Says:

Feed him HGH like they’re tic tacs, and he’ll be fine.

It’s really dumb the NFL doesn’t allow for HGH’s, under doctors supervision they really do help with injuries a ton, and there’s no reason to have them banned at this point.

JPP’s injury looked horrible as well. But that dude is a freak of nature. Came back to play and I’m sure he was hurting the rest of the game. Man Beast. OJ is a warrior too.

seems like a good time for ownership to meddle with the decisions of a lame duck coach. let brate earn his $6 mil racking up catches while OJ heals up for the new regime and a less hopeless (by default) new season
