About Covering Odell Beckham

November 18th, 2018

DC Mark Duffner dances around philosophy question

Will Brent Grimes shadow Odell Beckham today and try to limit his production?

Mike Smith fans, if there are any, know he was against that tactic. See Julio Jones and Michael Thomas — and Tampa liquor sales after that game.

Earlier this week, Joe asked new defensive coordinator whether he believes in having a cornerback track a great receiver all around the field.

Duffner punted on the question and joked, “We’re trying to investigate how we can get 12 on the field.”

Beyond that, he noted that the Bucs would try to “mix it up.”

Former Bucs cornerback Sterling Moore did an excellent job on Beckham in 2015. And the Bucs kept him out of the end zone last season, though he had a solid game.

That will be critical on this 40-degree day eliminating the truly explosive plays by Beckham that could break the will of a fragile Bucs team.

Grimes on OBJ…. hahaha…. grimes cushion gonna be met life to brooklyn

  3. LakeLand Says:

Saquon Barkley will be the biggest problem for the Bucs
His presence will negate the Bucs pass rush
If the Giants throw to him a lot

He’s a 3 down RB that keep the defense guessing
With the Bucs starting linebackers out
He should have a field day

OBJ and Sterling Shepard should get a lot of man coverage

  4. Jeffbuc Says:

Draft kings core 4 today Barkley,Eli, Beckham, and Shepard

  5. Jeffbuc Says:

Draft kings bust list Ryan Fitzpatrick. After his 3rd turnover in the second quarter after going 0-3 in the red zone. He will be replaced by Jameis Winston at halftime. And Koetter will have his miss clause glasses down on his nose scratching his hair the rest of the game. Jameis will have a good second half get us close to winning but Santos misses a 35 year deal to win the game. Koetter press conference will be I told you Jameis Winston is our quarterback that’s why I made the switch. Ryan earned the right to start for us but I think jameis will be our quarterback for the remainder of my 6 more games in the nfl. And as for the kicker I’m not going to say anything to him he made every kick in practice. So Licht and I decided to give him a 3 year 15 million dollar contract fully guaranteed.

Grimes retired at the end of last season. He’s just cashing checks and making avoid contact business decisions at this point.

    Well bucs fans

Get ready watch your team get destroyed by another NFL today.

Barkley is gonna run wild……..probably get close to 160 yards rushing

    and

Beckham will get atleast 140 receiving yards

    and

Eli will look like he found the fountain of youth against this crappy bucs team……..

I swear……….every team in the NFL looks amazing against this crappy bucs team

  8. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Yeah

I agree with the comment on grimes

He’s definitely just a paycheck player now.

He’s not giving it his all because he doesn’t want to hurt himself needlessly for a team that’s headed absolutely and I think alot of players are playing the exact same way now!

    BLOW THIS TEAM UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Buc believer Says:

That is if pops can get his walker on the field!

  10. Owlykat Says:

The true answer is “Of course not; he doesn’t want to.” Not impressed with Duffner’s job today. The Bucs should have elevated Buckner instead.
