Alex Cappa Still Can’t Get Dressed

November 18th, 2018

“I’m never going to play.”

Man, when a guard goes on injured reserve and is out for the season and a reserve guard still cannot dress for a game, it’s evident to Joe that something is up.

Guard Alex Cappa, as he has all season, is inactive today. Talk about a waste of a roster spot. When you need the guy for depth, he’s deemed not good enough to even wear a pair of shoulder pads and stand on the sidelines and blow his nose in a sports drink towel.

And this guy was a third round pick? Shameful.

Oh, the conspiracy theorists who claim America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, was benched because the family that owns the Bucs doesn’t want to cut him a check next year have yet another hole punched in their arguments. Jameis once again is the backup quarterback and third-string quarterback Ryan Griffin is inactive.

The full list of inactives are below.

#4 QB Ryan Griffin
#21 S Justin Evans
#27 RB Ronald Jones II
#36 CB M.J. Stewart
#54 LB Lavonte David
#65 OL Alex Cappa
#97 DE Vinny Curry

Waste of a roster spot?! That goes to rayan Griffin the past 3 seasons. He must have nudes of ownership or coaching staff as blackmail.

    WTF ARE WE DOING!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Why in God’s green earth is he not starting over Caleb Benenoch???????

Benenoch’s play is about as bad or worse than Garret Gilkey…..remember how bad Gilkey was???????????

Oh wait, that’s right, the bucs can’t coach or devlop talent and that’s why Ted Larson and Easy money Sweezy and performing well on their current teams after leaving this crappy azz bucs team!!!!!

    I mean, WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

  4. Duthsty Rhothdes Says:

Warhop and secondary coaches have to be in same boat as licht as the WORST in the nfl

  5. Jonathan Lipnicki Says:

Oh that cagey Licht…outsmarting the league again with these trade-up gems ! A quick glance at inactive player list shows both second round draft/flop picks are inactive…and VV won’t show on the stat sheet…so…Licht’s Out already! Enough is enough!

  6. BigMacAttack Says:

And to think, he could have wasted that 3’rd round pick on another kicker. 😂

  7. Dooshlarue Says:

Licht is looking pretty freaking bad right now.

  8. Blogtalkfootball.com Says:

I have never been a Warhop fan. Our Offensive line play has not been as good as the teams who actually have a running game.

If Warhop is on the coaching staff next year, don’t waste your money on a running back.

  9. LakeLand Says:

How many of Jason Licht 2018 draft picks,
    Will actually play today?

As far as Ryan Griffin goes
    Nothing make sense here
The guys takes up a roster spot, year after year
But he has yet to throw an NFL pass

The Yucs takes the meaning of DYSFUNCTIONAL to another level

  10. Kobe Faker Says:

“I hired an imbecile to sign off every move i make. I didnt want to hire an competent personnel evaluator and be second guessed. The dumber the better. I wanted to bring in here an idiot that if he had the chance, be someone so stupid to trade up and draft a kicker in the 2nd round…

Why, why, why do you think Gump would actually be someone else than who he really is?”

    Lovie Smith

  11. LakeLand Says:

    This franchise is so backwards
    They don’t belong in Tampa

    They belongs in Mayberry

  12. WillieG Says:

It’s pretty obvious to me that Licht is the problem. He needs to go and Koetter needs to agree to bring back a whole new defensive staff.

We have a great offense, let’s not screw it up by firing the guy who created it.

  13. Day1BucFan Says:

Now that Mike Smith is gone, Licht is the next who should go. He is like a blind squirrel throwing darts at nuts.

  14. Dooshlarue Says:

    Lakeland

    Do you mean Mulberry?

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Ryan Griffin and Alex Cappa are the only two inactives who are not listed on the injury report.

Cappa has been undergoing training as a center for some ungodly reason.

Here’s the thing…when you sign ALL of your draft picks, there are going to be inactives among them. There is no way around it.

  16. LakeLand Says:

    Dooshlarue

I mean Mayberry, as in Mayberry R.F.D
And this should be their staff

    GM. Barney Fife
    HC. Otis Campbell
    OC. Opie Taylor
    DC. Goober Pyle

  17. LakeLand Says:

This is how comical the Yucs are

  18. firethecannons Says:

For this team to ever stand a chance Jason Licht has to go! OMG this is pitiful–he lost on every pick this year

    C. Davis may be get better with new scheme

  19. firethecannons Says:

We lose by 3 td today
    we have no secondary

Actually, not that Mike Smith is gone, Licht will have control over the entire defensive staff for the first time. Dirk Koetter had control of who was hired before…and he;s now been removed from that element.

Both are on the last year of their contracts, so that will play a role too.

Personally, I prefer to keep Jason Licht. He built a good offensive roster over the last few years. He can do the same with the defense. This was the first year he was able to truly address the defense in the draft. He made great picks. Some fans may not agree, but he did. By next year, they will prove it. It takes time for rookies to acclimate, even future hall of famers.

Ideally, I would love to keep Koetter, Monken and Licht, fire the RBs coach, OL coach and the entire defensive staff. Bring in a new DC and left him choose his staff (which Mike Smith did not get to do).

But I don’t think that’s the way it will go down.

The way I think things will really play out…

    Three scenarios:
1 – The Glazers fire Dirk and promote Monken to head coach after a brief search.
2 – The Glazers fire Dirk and hire a superstar defensive head coach, but tell him hands off the offense and keep Monken.
3 – The Glazers fire Dirk, hire a superstar Offensive Head Coach and let him and Licht decide who to keep and who to replace (good chance Monken remains as OC).

Of the three, I think number three is the most likely.

  21. Jean Lafitte Says:

For one thing Cappa is not a guard. They may have him listed as such, but he’s not. Time to bring in Liedtke

  22. Jean Lafitte Says:

also it appears Curry is this years Swaggy. I guess someone has to take up the mantle.

  23. catcard202 Says:

Seems like the Bucs Mind Trust is manipulating the inactive list beyond just injuries…Could something else could be afoot behind the scenes??? Kind feels like it, from layman’s an outside perspective…Especially with the whole “Monken’s calling plays today” proclamation.

Frankly, I hope someone in Ownership is looking at the Long-term Big Picture today…I’d have the the war room in full reboot planning mode…Today’s game should be viewed with regard to draft slot ramifications… & the rest of the season should be about identifying/eliminating dead-weight from the bowels of the organization.

  24. Destinjohnny Says:

    Worst draft in Bucs history
I said it the day after draft day and boy did I take the heat
So I’ll say it again…This is the draft that gets Jason fired

  25. Doctor Stroud Says:

Not only a third round pick, but Licht traded two picks (102 and 180) to move up to get him! Let that sink in for a moment. This organization doesn’t have the luxury of a front office drafting “experimental” players for this coaching staff to (fail to) develop over several years. #PaidFloridaVacation

  26. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    No No No

GMs normally aren’t retained after fired HCs……….because they want to clean house

They want a new mentality a new frame of thinking

the glazers will clean house and right now they are closely monitoring potential head coaching canidates

The Glazers need to hire a bonified, legit HC with experience……not some college coach and offensive coordinator

………the Glazers need to hire a HC that will get 100% outta this offense and a GM that can actually hire good Scout because so far Lichts scouts have failed him.

I believe the 2018 draft will be the worst draft in bucs history

  27. JabooBuc Says:

Think about how bad you have to be to not start in front of CB at G. Just whatch some film. A potted plant is just as effective

  28. Mike Johnson Says:

Easy..Money Sweezy left the blueprint for all Injured Bucs to follow. He got his big money for Nothin..and his chicks for free.
    BUCLIFE BABY!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Doctor Stroud Says:

Hasn’t Sweezy been starting for the Seahawks all year? Doesn’t look like a thing is wrong with him. Another Bucs injury “mystery”! #PaidFloridaVacation

  30. Rick Says:

Not watching but it sounds like things are going according to plan! Greedy Williams from LSU with a top five!

  31. Tbbucs3 Says:

Jason Licht should be a healthy scratch.
