Vita Vea: Focus On The Negative

October 11th, 2018

The manbeast rookie on the Buccaneers’ defensive line is wired a little differently than most players.

Joe spent some 1-on-1 time with Vita Vea at his locker today and learned that the No. 12 overall pick, even in the wake of his first NFL game action of any kind, is wired to focus on the negative.

On Monday, defensive line coach Brentson Buckner said Vea “realized he’s a special talent” in his first game.

Vea, though, said he wasn’t interested in his few highlights.

“You always got to look at the bad, correct the bad so you can continue to improve,” Vea said. “So, I feel like just keep focusing on the negative and mistakes I made and try to work off that.”

Joe pressed Vea on the play seen here, film of him throwing the Bears center to the ground like he was a stuffed animal.

Vea smiled and admitted his teammates enjoyed that in the film room, but Vea swears he’s focused on every little mistake when he evaluates himself. “That’s me,” Vea said. “Coaches can show me what I’m doing well.”

Buc players must have been very happy with that particular play and the other six examples of good plays on defense from week 4.

Geraldine replacement now if only the coaching staff is smart enough to take Geraldine off the field on obvious run downs, insert vea and Allen. Let McCoy be a pass specialist, keep him fresh for the fourth quarter so we can see if he’ll actually log some kind of stats if he’s fresh

  4. Tc Says:

As long as he throws guys at the Qb and running backs.

    @notthereyet

    You nailed it bro.

Conserve GMC for the 4th quarter.

    O-line vs D-line is a boxing match.

But its 10 guys vs 5

Use all 10 guys to beat the O-lineman diwn for the firsr 3 quartes. Then, blow them away with speed in the 4th.

Also, Noah Spence should be a 4th quarter specialist.

I don’t care about their performance or winning the game….just so long as everyone’s having “fun” out there!

    I mean… Go Bucs!
