The Good Jameis

October 11th, 2018

The recent past holds the future.

People who monitor Joe on Twitter during games know Joe uses to phrases to describe how the Bucs offense is working.

Joe refers to it as either “Good Jameis” or “Bad Jameis.”

The “good” refers to when Jameis is humming and looking every bit the part of the franchise quarterback. The “bad” is when Jameis is struggling and turning the ball over.

Now, ready for his first start of the season at Atlanta Sunday, folks may wonder which Jameis will appear, good or bad?

Jenna Laine of ESPN thinks she has the answer as she explains in the video below.

[You know what’s worse? When you accuse a Bucs player of a felony. Bye! — Joe]

  2. Walter Seidel Says:

…Oh, and lying to his teammates, coaches, and front office.

  3. Lamarcus Says:

    Walter

You must be still a virgin

  4. Grt1 Says:

Don’t get altitude sickness on that high horse Walter

  5. ATrain Says:

JOE PLEASE FIVE MORE ARTICLES ON THIS GUY

Man I hope he has a great game because Sunday will be brutal on here if the
Walking definition of a QB doesn’t

  6. Hawk Says:

This will *not* be a game by which to judge Jameis. The Falcon defense is decimated and almost as pathetic as the Buccaneer defense. At the end of the season, we can look at his body of work. The Buccaneer organization will be doing the same. In the meantime, he’s *our* QB.
    GO BUCS!!

  7. Walter Seidel Says:

If the Bucs don’t score 40 against this putrid defense, then it’s also “on the field bad James” in addition to “Off the field BJ”

  8. Jean Lafitte Says:

    Walter

You mean because of society’s highly celebrated term “Thug Life” that Winston seems to aspire to. In some circles he’s considered a hero because he doesn’t conform to moral ideologies. I really believe Jameis thought he was slick and untouchable. Hopefully he’s grown out of this behavior. You just can’t be a leader of men and act like a “thug”. Maybe you could lighten up a little and see if he has grown as a person, and as a leader since that fateful Uber night. We all have made mistakes and learned from it, hopefully Jameis has as well. He let a lot of people down and he has paid a price. Maybe a New Jameis will emerge through it all and he’ll be a better person going forward.
That’s his off the field behavior, now his on the field needs a lot of work as well. Decision making, ball security, and accuracy needs to improve if he truly does want to be considered in the elite group of todays QB’s.

  9. Reach87 Says:

Hawk, spot on post. This isn’t golf…it’s a team game. Offense, Defense, special teams, coaching. People with zero say in the matter make silly proclamations that if the team doesn’t win, Winston sucks, he should be traded, on and on. Poppycock. Go Bucs!

  10. bucsfanman Says:

Please, please, please be good Jameis! We need wins.

  11. Dapostman Says:

    Walter,

Do you know EVERYTHING your pops did before you were born? Might be some skeletons in the closet. Maybe that’s why you have Winston Derangement Syndrome. Deep down you’re disappointed and taking it out on JW. Misdirected anger. Seek help and take Godeep and BrianBucs with you. Cheers and good luck in your therapy sessions.

  12. Buc1987 Says:

Dapostman….it makes peeps like Walter…. feel good about themselves…

Did you see the thread where Walter was taking about the o-line? No you didn’t cause Jameis Winston was not mentioned in the thread.

I was told during the pre-drafting of our STARTING QB by fans like Walter that if the Bucs drafted Winston there would be women’s rights protesters outside of One Buc for doing so.

Mr. Patrick I think was the idiot who said that….or Chris or some fool. You’d think after uber that would be the final straw for these women’s groups. Surely they would be out at One Buc every day. Nope.

No women protesters…..a few guys on JBF… acting like women though!

Yes that was a canon ball fired at you clowns….here catch.

  13. webster Says:

    Jean

When you say thug you really mean black right? Your idiot @$$ do not even know what the term means. I guess you think you know what it means but im here to inform your ignorant @$$ that it does not mean being black. Look up the word and educate your double wide living @$$.

  14. Buc1987 Says:

And another thing nutjob…..WHERE in Jameis Winston’s personality does one derive the words Thug Life from?

  15. Mikiebucsfan76 Says:

quick question buc fans has Winston been in any trouble since 016
when this uber thing happened one other question why is Winston look at as a thug hell my president grabbed women crouches, call people SOB’s and women dogs on national tv and bullies everybody he can is he considered a thug I like Fitz I think he got the ball to more receivers but remember he was still part of 2 losses

  16. Buccfan37 Says:

Jameis plays well and Walters shtick will be obsolete. Dried up crusty and moldy.

  17. ATrain Says:

Jamies Fans are right I think thug life is over the TOP

Jamies Fans can’t have both sides Calling Jamies the Man
America’s QB. On and on. Well. NO EXCUSES NOW

  18. webster Says:

    Atrain

Jameis fans do not call him americas qb. Joe does and i think he has explained why many times. His reason is because no qb moves the needle for good or bad like jameis due to the hatred and vitriol he receives. For the umpteenth time, americas qb does not mean joe believes he is the greatest, most elite, or best qb in the nfl. It means to joe that he is the most scrutinized/over analyzed qb for even the smallest situation. Joe did i explain that right?

  19. Joe Says:

It means to joe that he is the most scrutinized/over analyzed qb for even the smallest situation. Joe did i explain that right?

Not really but you are on the right track. Joe knows Bucs fans that call Jameis “America’s Quarterback.” Pretty sure Nick Carter did on “Good Morning, Football.”

  20. Defense Rules Says:

Wow, 17 comments & too many seem to put their own twist on the ‘Bad Jameis’ descriptor. Words like ‘thug’ really have no place in the discussion. Joe’s reference to ‘Bad Jameis’ was quite clear: “The “bad” is when Jameis is struggling and turning the ball over.”

What I did find humorous though Joe from Jenna Laine’s video was when she referenced Jameis playing well in last season’s Falcons’ game but we lost because “Winston’s weapons were dropping like flies”. I almost split a gut laughing … TALK ABOUT EXCUSES, WOW!!! If the Bucs’ offense suffers injuries while Jameis is starting QB and the Bucs lose, then they lost BECAUSE of the injuries. But when the Bucs defense suffers far more injuries to critical players to start this season, we lost BECAUSE Smitty sucks. GOT IT! NO CONTRADICTION THERE. RIGHT!

  21. webster Says:

    @ joe

That just means nick carter is a jbf reader because you started that. Hat tip. That makes it joe and nick carter. I would not call that fans. I have been at work, many watering holes, buc games, traveled to different cities etc talking to buc/jameis fans and i have never heard jameis referred to as americas qb. I have heard jaboo, famous jameis, wins a ton, and even the tired crab legs nickname. Never americas qb. Hat tip again for getting your message out there on national tv. But as i stated, i didnt think you gave that name due to his elite qb play. Again am i wrong on that? If so, explain again why you started calling him americas qb.

  22. webster Says:

Also all jameis fans i talk to and on this site seem to say the same thing. He is not perfect, has things to work on but he has shown tremendous promise. The haters act as if he is blaine gabbert or tim couch. We fans say let him develop like you let manning, brees, aikmen etc develop. There are plenty tools to work with. The fact that during the bye, he was still running his mini camp practices with players who had similar skill sets of his buccaneer weapons speaks volumes. Why do we hate on that? That hard work and dedication mirrors the story of jerry rice, manning etc. He puts in the time. It will pay off for the bucs or some other lucky team.

  23. Doctor Stroud Says:

If only Jameis would listen to Coach Jimbo Fisher and calm the F down.

  24. Joe Says:

That just means nick carter is a jbf reader because you started that. Hat tip.

    🙂

  25. Joe Says:

Joe’s reference to ‘Bad Jameis’ was quite clear: “The “bad” is when Jameis is struggling and turning the ball over.

    Thank you Defense.

  26. Joe Says:

. But as i stated, i didnt think you gave that name due to his elite qb play.

Combination of his play, his personality, his history but more importantly he moves the needle. Outside of Tom Brady (and maybe Aaron Rodgers and that’s solely because of his celebrity girlfriends) no quarterback moves the needle like Jameis.

  27. MSGulfCoast Says:

Wow comments! We seemed to have found those elusive female JW protestors! Go Bucs!

  28. ATrain Says:

    I got it Now Joe

To get an answer from you I have to be on the Jamies Train

Also y’all dont deflect because we all know it’s time

Jamies has to show he can win I’d the Bucs are going to pay the dollars and that’s it

    No excuses
    PLAY

  29. SteveK Says:

    ATrain,

Winston was the #1 pick in the PFT Live “Week 6 Show Me Something” draft by Chris Simms. Simms made some good points and it echoes a lot of what of what the labeled “naysayers” are saying. Show us quality decision making and win some games.

  30. webster Says:

Exactly joe. He moves the needle. That was what i was trying to say why you call him americas qb. Atrain was trying to say he was called that soley on his play and that is false. So atrain, if you are expecting 4OO yards and 4 tds every game and if he does not produce that then he is not americas qb, then you are wrong. You are missing the point. Let this man develop.

  31. Jean Lafitte Says:

    webster

look @ss wipe nowhere did I mention race. You did dumb@ss

  32. SteveK Says:

    Webster,

I want “wins” from my QB!

And if the defense lets us down, then the QB better have a good TD:Turnover ratio, as that is the biggest contribution towards winning.

  33. webster Says:

    @ steve k

When will you learn it takes a team to win. Mariota has won games throwing for 126 yards with 1 int while only scoring 9 pts. Jameis has put way better numbers as jenna laine’s video just stated that the bucs still lost. You would be killing jameis if he only threw for 126 yards. Again it takes a team. Let me know when that sinks in

  34. Joe Says:

I want “wins” from my QB!

    A Shaun King fan!

  35. I Bleed Pewter Says:

I think webster is this Joe’s alter ego

  36. Chris BucTown Says:

Who cares how many points we score? All I want is to eat a W, and not in a squeaker… I want to beat down the Dixies!
