No Rust

October 11th, 2018

After about 3 1/2 weeks of banishment from One Buc Palace, courtesy of NFL strongman Roger Goodell, Jameis Winston, showed a little expected rust in his season debut in Chicago.

It was a tough spot to jump in after halftime of a blowout. America’s Quarterback was rather accurate but he threw one pick and probably could have avoided another if he stepped up in the pocket.

Regardless, the reps were very valuable and if he has any more rust, it’s not showing, offensive coordinator Todd Monken said this morning at One Buc Palace.

Monken was adamant that Jameis has been looking sharp in practice, timing and all.

Of course, Monken did not mention that Jameis now gets to face an awful defense in Atlanta, something that should continue to keep him sharp.

Everything is all set for a big Jameis day on Sunday.

Jameis agreed today that the Bears action set him up for his first start of the season Sunday. “Critical to get my feet wet,” Jameis said.

I was in the Play Fitz camp in Chicago but Jameis is going to light it up Sunday. Falcons D has been terrible and they are down like many starters on D. Its a fast track in the dome. Not saying we win, but Jameis will put up 40 and a ton of yards.

It all boils down to Jameis’s accuracy. If he hits receivers in stride without them having to make miraculous catches then we win. If all he can do is hit stationary targets then that gives Atlanta’s defense a chance to jump routes and produce turnovers. I know if that’s what I notice about Jameis, you can darn sure bet all the opposing DB’s know his tendencies as well.

I hope we win but idk….mr blank has let the nfl world know he aint pleased…..DQ will be coaching as if he’s on the hot seat….he’ll have a few tricks up his sleeve….trick plays, fake kicks…..im pretty sure DQ is telling his staff and players we can not lose this game…..our staff is probably still trying to figure out who will create the game plan since the DC and OC don’t…..

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!

wait, so it was roger who was in the car?

Decision making and ball security are the keys. Which Jameis will show up in ATL? America’s QB or America’s Turnover Machine? Anybody’s guess….

  6. Not there yet Says:

It does not come down to Winston to win or lose, it comes down to bucs defense period. If Winston has to keep pace with Atlanta’s offense he is the type of guy that WILL make a mistake. Yes Atlanta’s defense is bad but

I look at it this way, Atlanta has starters on IR all over the defense, which defense has been blown out more? Who’s allowing more points. All lost a couple of really close games, this coaching staff just has a habit of embarrassing themselves against atl

  7. Robert Says:

he should put 50 points with all these weapons, as long as they don’t start the game with drive killing drops, penalties etc…..

  8. Robert Says:

I think we lose this game. It will be a shootout, closed out with JW throwing an interception on a forced ball to ME.

    write it down.

“Monken was adamant that Jameis has been looking sharp in practice”.
OK, and what defense is he practicing against? 🙂

  10. Jmarkbuc Says:

Just hope Monken is calling the plays…

Otherwise it’s The Hump-Brate show, while hanging ME out to get killed making catches on bad balls, followed by an errant pass to DJax.

  11. Robert Says:

    LOL Hawk. great point

    nice try joe

  14. Jerry Jones Says:

And when JW lights it up then who’s fault will that be?

  15. Robert Says:

if JW lights it up it will be what is expected

    anything less is unacceptable

  16. Eric Says:

    Light it up Jameis.

    You know you can.

Throw it away or take the sack if you have to.

  17. Season Is Over Says:

Mr. Magoo will have most of the WR corp on IR before mid-season anyway.

Jameis turned the corner vs saints last year! Jameis is going to be a real gunslinger with Moenken calling the plays can’t wait to see the damage he inflicts on opposing teams. Imagine we get a run game and he can actually use play action

  19. Frank Says:

    Good bye deep ball

  20. Buc4evr Says:

Hard to say which Jameis will show up on Sunday? I just don’t want him coming out so full of adrenaline that he overthrows his receivers and makes bone headed decisions.
