Report: DJax To Play

September 15th, 2018

Should be available.

[Update: 12:08 a.m.] In the final injury report of the week before tomorrow’s showdown with the Super Bowl champion Eagles, DeSean Jackson was listed as a full participant in Friday practice and “questionable for” Sunday’s game.

A BSPN report today suggests he will play. NFL reporter Jeremy Fowler states it is all but certain Jackson will suit up.

Joe hopes this is correct. With the stingy Eagles defense and the Bucs without their starting quarterback, it is an all-hands-on-deck type of game.

[Update: 12:08 a.m.] Per good guy Peter Schrager of the NFL Network and FOX Sports said Jackson cleared his concussion protocol test Saturday evening and is expected to start.

“Without their starting quarterback.” So suddenly Fitzpatrick is a liability? Man this guy gets no respect. If I remember correctly it was Winston who couldn’t connect on the deep ball last yearr. I’m much more concerned that the team being down a starting corner.

  2. ATLBuc Says:

TonyC. #3 looked really good on the long ball during the preseason. Hopefully it will continue when he gets back

  3. The Real Malloy Says:

Agreed TonyC. Against that defense, I want the smarter QB whose safer with the ball. That QB is Fitzy.

    FEAR THE BEARD!!!!!!!!!

  4. i like gunslingers Says:

    just win baby, just win

  5. Calbucsfan Says:

Bucs have a starting QB, he’s known as FitzMagic.

  6. Mike Johnson Says:

Fitz will uphold his end. He won’t lose the game. Iits our Defense I’m worried about. They have the honorable distinction of…. losing games time after time.

  7. feelthepewterpower Says:

That is good news. There was the word from Jay Glazer right after the game that he was “fine” and going to try and play this Sunday. It looked to me that he had sensation traveling up his arm and that to me seemed iffy. As long as he and doctors feel it is safe, all that matters!

  8. Rod Munch Says:

Wow, nice. I hope they can figure out how to get him involved as I’m guessing the Bucs WRs are going to be running wide open this week against a very very good Philly defense, plus Fitz’s nemesis, the wind, could be at play as currently tomorrow’s Eurotrash model forecast calls for steady 11 mph wind with gusts into the 20 during the game.

  9. AlteredEgo Says:

    Excellent!!!

  10. Jason Says:

When Bucs fans think Fitzpatrick all of sudden is a starter after being in the league 14 seasons.

  11. Wausa Says:

Sometimes it’s tough to see a concussion but from the view I saw it didn’t look like much of a hit by the defender or the ground.

  12. AlteredEgo Says:

Wausa… his head smacked the ground hard…. certainly a Tylenol headache # something

  13. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Wausa he did a face plant into the turf. I don’t know what the hell you were watching but I am personally shocked that he has cleared protocol.

  14. Destinjohnny Says:

    What’s going on with VV???
Joe what’s the real story ???

  15. AlteredEgo Says:

Thinking back I’ve probably had 3 concussions/ momentary loss of consciousness… all before 15 …. and I turned out just fine:-)

  16. Destinjohnny Says:

D jack is the real deal between the ears
We all know he has talent but his mental makeup is stating to shine

  17. BigMacAttack Says:

Last week it wasn’t just the O line that blocked well, it was TE’s, receivers and the backs were picking up stragglers in the pass game. I haven’t seen our RBs do a better job. This is the key to Winning tomorrow, blocking blocking blocking

  18. Eezy Says:

Everybody on here always talking about Winston an last year. Let’s get it straight fitz cannot handle a 16 game season. Winston had the best preseason ever with every throw. I like Fitz but his body will not hold up a 16 week season I don’t care what he says. The way he plays and take hits it’s just not sustainable. I like him for the eagles game because the team has something to prove.

I loved his attitude this offseason…It all started with the Instagram post in January saying they’d be back (with vengeance). And he has come in….kept quiet despite things not going this way and taken teammates under his wing. He’s been a quiet leader for our offense and special things are going to come for this unit.

    I’ve go Evans

  23. AlteredEgo Says:

    Fzzz~Djaxz. tm

  24. SB Says:

I don’t have Evans Buc…….I took Antonio Brown. I got DJax in the 5th round in two leagues tho so I took it.

  25. Ed Says:

Jim Schwartz is a great defensive coordinator and will make it very difficult for the Bucs to put up points. But how can an Eagle secondary cover Howard, Evans, Jackson and Godwin when they are all on the field at once. Evans is a proven#1 and Godwin on a less talented team could become a #1. Jackson is a burner and will run by any CB especially when Evans and Godwin are getting open in intermediate routes. Plus Howard can outrun all the linebackers.

If the Bucs offensive line can give Fitz time he will pick them apart, not because he’s Ryan Fitzpatrick but because all he needs to do is put the ball in the vicinity of these 4 guys and good things will happen.

  26. DB55 Says:

Eagles front 7 is tough. I’m watching the Dotson vs Bennett match-up. Also curious how Caleb or Evans plan to block Fletcher Cox. It would be great if McIceCream could out play Cox but that’s unlikely.

Last week I said if we played like we did in the 3rd ps game we could win the game. I’m not so sure about this week but wtfdik

Don’t be surprised if we see Ryan Griffin play, hopefully bc of a blow out but more realistically bc Fitzmagic get pummeled unmercifully.

  27. XpfcWintergreen2 Says:

We still have Hump and Brate also!

  29. firethecannons Says:

Good–now Eagles can give extra attn to covering DJAX thereby freeing up the other players
    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Don’t expect him to do much. When Jackson plays good defenses his fear of being hit overwhelms his ability to catch.

  31. Dooshlarue Says:

Wow, I’m watching Bucs all access right now and just saw the replay of the Justin Evans fumble return.
What stands out to me is a DT loafing down the line before the tackle/fumble happens…… I mean he’s not even trying.

    The defensive lineman’s #?
    93.
    Sickening.

Then I had to see his stupid wreak havoc promo telling me not to make him laugh.

Gummy needs to shut up and actually do something.

  32. Jason Says:

    @Buccaneer Bonzai
That may be true I wouldn’t know. But Jackson has always played hard against his former team. I think his record is 4 – 1 against them and according to Bucsnation he has caught 20 passes for 440 yards and 2 touchdowns.

  33. JimmyJack Says:

This is huge!! Just like all of us Jim Schwartz saw what DeSean did last week. You better believe he had his fingers crossed Jackson would be out.

Guaranteed we are taking a shot tomorrow. And there might not be anything Schwartz can do about it!!!

    GOO BUCS!!!!!

Hmmmmm. I think he started last week and I’m pretty sure he’ll start against the Eagles. I think that makes him a starter. What is it you don’t seem to understand?
