Koetter Makes Plea For Bucs Fans

September 12th, 2018

Koetter doesn’t want to see this.

Game week officially begins today.

And this particular game week is special. Coming off a thrilling divisional road win to open the season in New Orleans, the Bucs are home to host the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles

And when the Eagles come to town, guess what else shows up? IgglesFan. In droves.

Look for the green menace to try to take over the Den of Depression since they are still drunk from their first Super Bowl victory seven short months ago.

With the thought of IgglesFan invading Tampa Bay, in his weekly in-season sitdown with Dan Lucas of WFLA-TV Channel 8, Bucs coach Dirk Koetter made a plea to Bucs fans to resist the invasion and make Sunday’s experience for both the Eagles and IgglesFan uncomfortable.

Koetter noted how Eagles fans travel well and that the Bucs need their fans to be raucous and to fill the lower bowl with red. Koetter also asked for Bucs fans to be loud when the Bucs are on defense and said the team needed their help. So far this early season, the Bucs have given fans a reason to be rowdy and provided quality entertainment.

Behind a backup quarterback, no less.

Yep, I’ll be there… dealing with Eagles Fan (same as Boston Fan same as NY Fan), who shows up once every three years, starts slam drinking at 8:00am..trashes our city, our stadium and our fans where nothing is as good as (insert Rust Belt city here). This is a symptom. The disease these people carry is not giving a spit about our area, our schools, our police, fire etc. They paid their taxes up north and they aren’t going to contribute squat or assimilate into our community. Not all of them but the vast majority. Pray for the cops this weekend having to deal with these tatted up, toothless unemployed transplants.

But it’s not like I’m bitter about dealing with them or anything..lol

  2. NJBucsFan Says:

Ugh Eagle fans are the worst. I live right outside of Philly and they consider themselves “passionate” but in all reality they are just classless. Please make my Monday morning a happy one and destroy Philly!!!

  3. Buc believer Says:

I have tickets in Sect 134 row A and it pisses me off that every home game I am shouted down and then when I scream louder the cop standing right in front of me comes and warns ME to keep quiet so no trouble starts… well you know what??? SCREW THAT!!!!! The eagles suck their fans SUCK and I’m going to let them know it this week!

  4. thunderchunkyPA Says:

NJBucsfan, I live in..of all places Eagleville, PA , about 25 minutes from center city. You are correct, the worst, not even close. This is my game of the year, I hope our boys bring home that W for us.

  5. '79Defense Says:

They should just keep showing the reply of Ronde’s interception return that closed down the Vet. Couldn’t hurt. That was pretty good at shutting them up in Philly.

  6. Easy Says:

Philly fans in general are a bunch of do***hes. Waaay worse than the Cowboys fans I have to deal with on a regular basis here in Texas.

  7. Easy Says:

Philly fans are nauseating. Waaay worse than Cowboys fans whom I deal with daily.

  8. NJBucsFan Says:

@Thunder – I live in Cherry Hill and work in Center City…last year was painful coming to work.

  9. Ndog Says:

Why does Dirk always act like only the fans in the “lower bowl” are important. I am about sick of that crap.

  10. Bucsfanman Says:

Ndog- $$$ Nobody gives a crap about the working class. If you can’t be reached by the t-shirt cannon, you’re just a $$$.

The best way to shut up Eagles fans is to beat the brakes off ’em!

  11. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

LOL, Make Tampa Great Again, build the Wall

  12. Joe Says:

Why does Dirk always act like only the fans in the “lower bowl” are important. I am about sick of that crap.

Lower bowl in any stadium tends to lean toward the wine-and-cheese crowd who tend the watch the game in a more passive manner. Those are also the sections closer to the players.

  13. BigMacAttack Says:

Pretty easy to quiet them up, 3 quick TDs to start the game. Run up the score and shut the Eagles out. They will all leave their seats, head to the smoking section and drown their sorrows in warm beer while they chain smoke.

  14. BigMacAttack Says:

Do the concessions take EBT? Asking for a friend. 😂

  15. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

After what we did to the Saints, you can BET tape is out on us. Expect them to blitz many times, because the Saint’s didn’t, and look what happened to them.
IF we can protect Fitz, it will be a long day for them, and their rude azz fans.

  16. Bucsfanman Says:

BigMac- There’s no more smoking sections in RayJay!

  17. NJBucsFan Says:

Show any visitors what the true red tide is on sundays!

  18. David Mayhew Says:

Firefighter, volunteer, first responder during the 9/11 attacks and die-hard Eagles fan. Nice to see you morons all lump eagles fans into one category. I pay my taxes down here after transplanting, have all my teeth, and I bust my ass off every day in St Petersburg to make sure others are safe.

What the hell has your pathetic fan base shown the past 15 years? Had trouble showing up to the game. I wonder why Eagles fans show up in mass amounts? Oh maybe because you’re transient passive fan base doesn’t jump ok the ticket sales as soon as they open up. Your fan base is sorrowful and doesn’t even show up when they’re winning (not that you guys have seen any semblance of winning in 15 years. 10-6 2010, 9-7 2016)

  19. Steven007 Says:

@Joe, that only tends to be the lower bowl fans between the twenties. Outside the twenties and near the end zone the fans are far more racous.

  20. BringBucsBack Says:

    B.Y.O.B.
Bring your own batteries. (Oh, don’t forget to play defense, either.)

  21. JimBuc2 Says:

Ask Ryan Jensen if he gives a crap about Eagles fans. Why should we?

  22. '79Defense Says:

    David Mayhew,

Great that you’re a first responder and all that, but why don’t you direct your comment to the ONE person who slighted you? You say “you morons.” Hardly any of these posts say anything bad about Philly fans.

  23. Anonymous Says:

David Mayhue, take your sorry ass back to Philly then, we PASSIONATE CLASSY FANS, didn’t ask you to come here, go back to Philly where your sorry ass eagles play, you FINALLY win one Superbowl and you act like yall been winning for years, moron!!!!!!!

  24. Buc believer Says:

    Dave Mayhew,
you get my respect for being a first responder (if in fact you really are since i dont trust anything philly fan says or does) but THIS is Tampa Bay and we dont give a rats arse about you your smelly rat infested city or your fat ugly women or your wussy arsed players or mostly your battery throwing santa clause booing alcholic front running fans! SO TAKE YOUR PHILLY LOVING ARSE AND GET BACK TO YOUR PIG HOLE CITY. thank you.

  25. Bucsfanman Says:

David Mayhew- You’re welcome to climb aboard the wagon any time.
It’s interesting that you are here though, a Buc fan blog. Either you’re a closet Buc fan or just here to stir the pot.
Eagle fans would be just as “sorrowful” if their team stunk out loud for a decade+. You’re not insulting anyone here with that comment. We KNOW! We’re Buc fans!
I wonder if you’ll be back here after losing Sunday?!

BTW, thank you for your service!
    Go Bucs!

  26. Godeep66 Says:

Let’s just call them “green tide”. They will roll into Tampa Bay and the stinch can be smelled 24 hours before that arrive and another 48 hours after they leave.

  27. Godeep66 Says:

@davidmayhew@ I hope the green tide rolls a car in your direction after the loss on Sunday.

  28. 813bucboi Says:

    I cant stand philly fans…..

unfortunately, I cant be there….son has a baseball tourney at 12noon…..this is probably the only time I hope they get 10run ruled….lol….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!…#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  29. BucDan Says:

Gonna be there to represent the team and cheer them to victory!

    Sunday can’t come soon enough!

    Go Bucs!

  30. Billy_43 Says:

    LOL @ David Mayhew

This coming from a guy who rooted for a team that lost in the playoffs 10 times in the 2000s.

Constantly an afterthought in a Division with Cowboys, New York and DC.

Congrats on the 1st Super Bowl in your 500 year existence.

  31. Buccernutter Says:

The only good things about Philly is cheese steak and it’s always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Other than that you don’t have squat on Tampa homie.

  32. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Rob!!!!!!

That absolutely struck a chord with me. The ONLY time I ever came close to an actual fist fight was at a Philly-Lightning game. At that time I had season tickets
to the Lightning and it was literally the one game my wife had to miss. So I sold the ticket to a scalper.

He of course sold it to Philly fan…who happened to live the past six years in Pasco County but was still a Philly jerk!!!!

That was when the Lightning sucked…the Flyers were good…it was like 3-0 in the 3rd with Philly fan yammering the ENTIRE time. Those of you with season tickets are aware you develop a camaraderie with the other ticket holders around you…especially over a 41 game schedule.

So we had all had enough when I ask the dude where he lives…six years Pasco…why he didn’t root for his HOME teams. Philly would always be his real home he replied.

I had enough…so I said…well I give you scoreboard on the hockey game…your team is better than ours…but of course our city is better than yours we clearly have scoreboard there. “What are you talking about” he asked. I said…well you do not see hundreds of thousands of Floridians migrating to Philly but OTOH there are hundreds of thousands of Philly folks who have migrated to Florida.

Pretty clear which city has scoreboard. We don’t move to Philly and drink your water, crowd your roads, and root for your opponents in sports…because our city is soooo cool we’re all happy to live here unlike you Philly people.

Dude stands up to throw down…as I stood three friends in seats around me stood with me. Philly fan sunk back into his seat and shut his yap.

Buc fans who go to Sunday’s game….You have my respect and good luck with Philly jerk. Boston fan is pretty bad…Yankee fan not much better…but Philly fans is a particular kind of jerk.

  33. John B Says:

philly Fan is a getter done that happened to be born in the NE instead of Kentucky – that is all

  34. Buc believer Says:

Since Philly is called the city of brotherly love does that also make it the K-Y capital of America?

  35. Trench War Says:

Funny, the last time we played Philly @ home I lost my voice for a couple days lol

  36. '79Defense Says:

    Stpetebucsfan… that’s a great story!

  37. BigMacAttack Says:

Why do guys have to throw their resume around? Like it matters or we care? After the way the Eagles played last Thursday, I sure wouldn’t be running my suck if I was from Phili. Sure they won because ATL gave them game and their team as a whole, sucked.

  38. Bucsfan951 Says:

David has that self righteous firefighters attitude. Everybody get down and kiss the ground he walks on because he’s a medic.

  39. Kobe Faker Says:

“Kobe Faker is a lifetime Philly/JW3 fan that happens to QB for the bucs…

Went to school at North Penn High school/Montco (as you can tell from my posts, did not finish) and spend half the year at Chalfont Pa and Lakeland Fl

“Philly fans are the greatest in the world…will be at Ocean Resort casino to watch my birds with my comrades”

    Kobe Faker

  40. Jimmy Says:

Can’t tell in that picture if that’s a really ugly woman or a really buff dude.

  41. SW500CAL Says:

    stpetebucsfan I hear ya.
At Lightning game against Philly back when Bolts were not that great and we won. Walking out and cheering we came up on a Philly fan screaming at a lady with Lightning jersey on and as we got close he punched her in the face like you would a man. He was standing over her yelling and then we grabbed him for security and he took a swing. When security got there he was on the concrete bleeding and moaning. Security took him away. The lady had a cut over her eye and was bleeding pretty bad. So yes some Philly fans are jerks and they better watch their actions in RJS!! We wil support our BUCS and fans. I’m in section 111 and have been since 76 and we all look out for each other.
    GO FITZMAGIC!

    GO BUCS!

  42. unbelievable Says:

I love how Rob thinks someone doesn’t pay their taxes just cuz they used to live somewhere else. Bucs fans are so much classier lol.

  43. NJBucsFan Says:

Can’t defend a fan base that punches police horse not once but twice, eats horse crap off the street, celebrates sever injuries and do what they did to Joe Jerevicius after his personal loss.

@David Mayhew I appreciate your service but your post shows the lack of class and self centered attitude Philly fans are wel-known for. This post has nothing to do with your past job and stating your response with that makes no sense. And don’t act like the stadium wasn’t empty during Andy Reid’s last season and the final two seasons of Chip Kelly. Philly loves to call other fanbases out but forget their acts of fair weather fandom.

Stop reading Buc blogs and go to crossingbroad to read about your birds.

  44. Rob in Land O Lakes Says:

David, thank you for your service. My post said “most” and I will stand by opinion that 75%-80% of the northeastern transplants the show up for their “old” team are only here because “most” are not smart enough, educated enough or motivated enough to get a job in their old city so they move here where it’s cheap. If our fan base is pathetic, it’s in great part because of fans who refuse to buy into this area and make this area home in their heart. Just my opinion based on 40+ years of following sports here.

  45. MotherBUCer Says:

    David Mayhew,

Sincerely, thank you for what you do (Firefighter, volunteer, first responder).

Also (more tongue in cheek) congrats on having your teeth, keep up the good work!

Now down the rabbit hole we go….You appear salty due to these people lumping all eagles fans together, yet you did the same thing lumping all Bucs fans together as “passive” and “sorrowful”. I personally don’t typically lump them together myself (mainly because my fiance and all future in-laws are eagles fans), however since we are all lumping whole groups together:

Yes I would say Bucs fans are more passive but then again not all of us can handle dry humping lubed up poles trying to get to the top (but it is funny to watch you people get confused not knowing what to do once at the top), throwing and eating horse sh!t, and just being d-bags and obnoxious in general.

Sorrowful huh? The eagles fanbase is the definition of it for the past 60 years, only problem with them is they never got past the anger stage of the grief process. Even now after the SB, “No one likes us and we don’t care” WAAAAA

I don’t live in Tampa but would be there this weekend if I did wearing my Ronde Barber jersey the same way I do every time I go to the linc when the Bucs are there (while just laughing at the trolls).

  46. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Jimmy too funny!!! Can’t really tell can you? Seen trailer park chicks looking like that!!!😂🤣😂🤣 Funny thing they were already booing in the 2nd quarter of the Atlanta game, now kinda wish Atlanta won even hope the Aints and Stankin Panthers beat them as well! Philly is a filthy place surprised they still got a city.

  47. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

wish they had blow up Energizer batteries so Bucs fans can give them to throw if the Beagles are getting curb stomped!

  48. orlbucfan Says:

David Mayhew: how much you getting paid to troll on here? Cushy $$gig$$–wish I could land one. BTW, Bucs won the SB 16 years ago. Eaglets FINALLY won one last year. Big whoop!

  49. Kobe Faker Says:

“Im a Jameis fan over Wentz all day every day(reason Kobe is here) however

the present brash cockiness of Phiily is that the next 10-15 years (Wentz years as QB)…,

with Wentz, HC Pederson, GM Harry Rosen and Jeff Lurie as Owner,

No team since the Salary cap years are better setup to be a Dynasty as the Philly Eagles

They see minimum 3 more superbowls during the rest of Wentz career in Philly

  50. Buc1987 Says:

“Buc fans who go to Sunday’s game….You have my respect and good luck with Philly jerk. Boston fan is pretty bad”

lol…spbf what about us die hard Bucs-Red Sox fans like me? 🙂

I use my Mass-hole attitude and apply it to being a Bucs fan. How the hell else do I stay a fan for the last 30 years?

    Philly fans are scum.

Great that Rob is at the top to remind everyone that drops in here. The fromundacheese Eagles fans, that my wife and I had to deal with at RJS a few years back, confirmed what I was always told about them.

I’m Bahston and that’s who I am. I cherish my Bucs though more than the Sox….just a little a bit more. I don’t expect anyone to get that ….but they should.

The team you take on as your team when you’re the youngest, should remain your team unless you give up on them early in your fandom. I’ve never wavered from the Bucs and Red Sox. Celts and Bruins? If I lived there, perhaps, but NBA is garbage these days like I’ve stated on these pages numerous times. Hockey in Florida? Still can’t get there and it’s been decades….

    Go Bucs btw

  51. SOEbuc Says:

    SIGN RONDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  52. NJBucsFan Says:

Kobe – your projections have the team staying intact. Their offensive line is getting up there in age. Lane Johnson is the only piece that will remain for the next 3 years. They have limited cap space. Zach Errz will most likely be gone after this season due to salary. Jason Peters will retire and Malcom Jenkins will do the same or be threatened with being cut to restructure. Pretty sure Bennet is there one year. Darby will be gone after this year. They payed Alshon so he’ll get fat and not care again. Their window is this year. After that they need to pay Wentz.
