DeSean Jackson, Jason Pierre-Paul Return (video)

September 13th, 2018

DeSean Jackson on the broiling practice fields of One Buc Palace today.

Happy times, Bucs fans.

Joe’s got all the good news from practice — and some bad.

Walking out from the facility onto the broiling practice fields was Jason Pierre-Paul. See the video below. He threw his helmet right on and got after it in warm-ups.

The smiles of the day — media only gets to watch the first 30 minutes of practice — were on DeSean Jackson. Man, he looked like a happy man. He was back at practice with a bounce in his step. Jackson left Sunday’s game with a concussion and he was seen through the game getting his right shoulder worked on.

Jackson was catching balls and looking ready to roll. JPP looked happy, too.

Of course, this news makes Bucs fans happy. How banged up could JPP be if he’s back out there today? Still, Joe suspects he’ll officially be “limited” in practice when the official report comes out later.

Not seen was Brent Grimes (groin injury). Hey, Joe will take two out of three and be darn happy about it.

    Vita Vea?

  2. Kobe Faker Says:

    Djax vs Ronald Darby

    “Must see TV”

    Kobe Faker

  3. Billy_43 Says:

    God this is good news.
We need both these Studs to not only play, but contribute in BIG ways.

I’m excited to see the rookie corners step up too. I think they can do it.

Nothing helps more in the passing game than Desean taking the top off.

Who cares if his shoulder is banged up. Just run fast!!!

  4. AlteredEgo Says:

Foles is going down ! …pass rush will show up against Philly in the RayJay

  5. Joel Says:

    Who’s Vita Vea?

  6. jmarkbuc Says:

    Joel

Legend has it he’s a monstrous Run Stuffing D lineman from the NW…Wait maybe that’s Bigfoot.. Oh well I’ve never seen either.

  7. Mike in MO Says:

I sometimes wish that Vita Vea would have simply torn his calf or Achilles and been placed on the IR rather than wait every day with bated breath for some good news as to his return.

  8. jmarkbuc Says:

    Mike

Agreed. At the very least they should put him on IR-designated to return. We could use the roster spot…

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Told ya.

Funny how certain people here said JPP blew his.knee out.

  10. Billy_43 Says:

No need to rush Vea back and him have a recurring injury all season.

I’m sure by after the bye week he will play and be very effective.

The D Line will probably need the boost by then at the rate our guys get injured.

  11. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I’m telling you guys, don’t even think about Vita playing until after the bye week. It’s not going to happen, and you are going to worry yourselves sick by thinking of it.

  12. Casual Observer Says:

JPP being back is the best news. Hope he is full go.

  13. Bob in Valrico Says:

Respect for Djax ,for a smaller receiver he is a tough dude. If he had his way
there woulsn’t even have been a visit to the tent.

  14. buddy Says:

Vita Vea??? What is this you speak of? Player? or myth.

  15. BigMacAttack Says:

Vita Vea is in their fat removal heavy conditioning program. When he returns after the bye, looking like the Incredible Hulk, all will be forgotten 😝

  16. Bucsince79 Says:

You know the difference between a canoe & DJAX ? The canoe TIPS!!! Which i can live with if he plays like he did last Sunday

  17. Buchead5588 Says:

I rather have vea comd back when he’s good to go don’t rush it it’s a long seasons get right bro an come back an beast on these haters

  18. Doctor Stroud Says:

An injured player “not seen”?! No floppy hat duty?! Now, that is a step in the right direction!

Let’s hope that DJax is motivated against his old team.

  19. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Change Vita Vera’s name to Bigfoot

…… That way we can always refer to the terms like “Bigfoot sighting”

  20. GhostofSchiano Says:

They must have got some Fitzydust on them from Fitzmagic……

  21. Radsy Says:

DJax was out cold. First thing he worried about was telling his teammates he was good and to keep bombing.

JPP kept saying he wasn’t sure he would play this weekend with a joking tone.

Can everyone please stop whining about Vea? Wishing he would have done his Achilles? Maybe stop obsessing and trust that they are trying to get him right. It’s not the end of the world to miss a few games

    Who’s Vita Vea?

Lmao – yeah no kidding. 1st and 2nd round pic – Thanks for nothing.

You know who looked really good? Derwin James. You know who else looked good? Mincah Fitzpatrick. In fact there are articles on how he was actually OUTSTANDING his first game. Who the F is Vita Vea indeed

  23. Defense Rules Says:

Agree with Billy_43 … ‘God this is good news’. Our DLine would be really hurting if we don’t have JPP on Sunday. And DJax adds a dimension that the Eagles’ defense HAS TO RESPECT. If Monken calls a similar game to what he called in New Orleans, this Bucs’ offense might be able to lay 25-30 points on the Eagles. And if our defense can stiffen somewhat, we’d have a decent chance of limiting Foles & the Eagles offense to less than 25 points. I still smell a 28-24 Bucs’ victory this Sunday.

Oh and Joe, been dying to hear some good news that the Bucs have signed Breeland. Please text Jason and tell him not to screw around. Our rookies in the Secondary learned some valuable lessons last Sunday I’m sure, but they’re still rookies. Our Secondary NEEDS some experienced, veteran help, and fast.

  24. stpetebucsfan Says:

Agree with you…Vea doesn’t come back till after the bye and neither does Grimes.

We have some intriguing possibilities. Say they don’t bring JW back till the game after the bye as well.

3 more games for Fitz and if he can win just ONE more….it’s all good.

JW starts in Atlanta at the real beginning of our season…2-2. If JW goes 8-4 over the remaining 12 games there’s our ten wins and a probable playoff…especially if we can nail some more NFC South teams.

Vea and Grimes might be healthy…3 rookie defensive backs will have their baptism of fire…the defense will have played together and should be jelling.’

Just ONE more win please Fitz…2-2 heading to Atlanta gives JW every chance to get us in the playoffs.

  25. El_Buc941 Says:

Rest Vea till after week week 4 and bring him in in time for the falcons!

  26. m0j0 Says:

We need those 2 guys bigtime!

  27. Bucamania Says:

I gained much respect for Djax last week. He played through a tough shoulder injury and got knocked out on that key 3rd down reception. Dude was fighting!

  28. Rod Munch Says:

Who many of these dopes who suddenly love D-Jax were the same idiots saying we needed to cut him before the preseason? LOL!

Anywho good to see he’s back, hopefully he plays because the Bucs are going to need all the points they can get.

  29. LakeLand Says:

    Rod Munch

The big difference between Sunday game and the 2017 Bucs.

They wasn’t trying to force the ball to ME or Cam Brate every down

Mike Evans 7 targets, Cam Brate 0 targets

They got the other guys involve like they should have done last season

  30. Dave Says:

They desperately need Brent Grimes back now that VH3 is done for the year.

  31. Tampabaybucfan Says:

All those accusing both Djax & JPP of simply collecting a paycheck should find another team….perhaps another sport.
These two are pros and really love to play and they want to win.

Djax was a monster and looks to be making a bid to stick with the Bucs for another year….will be difficult money-wise…..but possible.

  32. LakeLand Says:

JPP played his heart out Sunday, so did Gholston, Nassib. They posted donuts because they were over matched. The Saints O-Line is one of the best in the NFL.

  33. old time buc Says:

Finally some good news, now how about some more

  34. Owlykat Says:

Stewart will be fine as the Slot Corner—his best position. Licht signed us an adequate veteran CB to play for Grimes, and Davis got his baptism by fire last week and should improve this week. We will also have Playmaker Justin Evans back there too who keeps improving each time he plays. They would all be better but for they have to play in Smitty’s Dumb Scheme. We also have helpful intelligence from Vinny and Adams on Philly too. Our Offense needs to play like they did last week and we will be very competitive Sunday!
