Incredible Vinny Curry Video; Nasty Is Back!

July 29th, 2018

GM Jason Licht is loving this film

Joe has fielded many questions about what it looked like in the trenches at One Buc Palace today, the first practice in full pads of the 2018 season.

It’s not a quick and easy answer. That’s why Joe shoots a lot of rolling video with a camera that’s much better than what’s found on a phone. It allows Joe to go back and study film.

Joe found a couple of gems today in the film and it’s extra nice that they’re on consecutive plays. And it’s all Vinny Curry, the Bucs’ big-money, free-agent DE from the Eagles.

You just have to watch below, and you’re going to need to rewind a few times. Curry and O.J. Howard is an instant classic. Look at Curry’s willingness to stick his head in for the tackle without a helmet. And 10 seconds later, Curry is after it again.

Enjoy!

I agree, that’s some damn good footage.

Not a Vinny Curry take, but I’m more optimistic about our run D than our pass rush. The pass rush should be better, but if you look at the guys we brought in and drafted, I think our run D improved way more than the pass rush. If that plays out and we can force teams into 3rd and 7 or 8, instead of 3rd and 2, our pass rush will be able to go all out and make some plays. A run stopping DLine and fast LBs should force a lot of 3rd and long’s this year. With the additions to the secondary, that should increase the opportunity’s for INTs. Maybe we finally have a D that can compliment our offense and close the game out after Winston drives us to a potential game winning score, unlike last season.

1st Play – Got helmet knocked the F off and RB got by for gain.

2nd Play – Made tackle about 10 yds down field.

Hope these goose-bumps go away eventually.

Peyton Barber is looking very solid from the clips i’ve seen of him.

    BobBuc you muppet,

1st snap- Take another look. He keeps his gap responsibility despite the illegal hands to his face, and then tosses Howard aside and forces the run inside. The linebacker comes to clean up a 1 or 2 yard gain but pulls up because it’s practice.

2nd play- he’s a left end and makes a tackle on the other side of the field. Excellent hustle and quickness shown.

I think Barber will surprise folks this year.

^^^^^ Barber was Gone on that play!

  12. Kobe Faker Says:

“Peyton barber is the x factor of the 2018 Bucs season. He is the man that can make Klueless offense actually look competent…

Vinny Curry is a nice player but he was expendable to Philly because of the next NFL phenom to arise….

    Derek Barnett”

This is so great to see the Bucs playing in pads in full scrimmishes. Had Koetter done this last year we would have won a lot more games. I love Curry’s heart, fire, and passion! He is a great addition to the Bucs! Peyton Barber can carry the running game while Rondo adapts to the NFL and our Offense, and we need both a rugged back and a take it to the house on any play back and we now have them both, in addition to a dependable third down back too so we have all the backs we need. However, I think we need the Duke rookie in reserve too if there are injuries this year.

Peyton Barber is fighting for his mama!

    Like Beast Mode Marshawn Lynch!

Barber got a reason to fight!

VHIII on the other hand is the son of a rich daddy.

Thats why he doesnt hit anybody.

OJ can also be the third OT on the field for us.
