Welcome Back, Bernard Reedy!

May 23rd, 2018

Interesting timing

Fresh from the Super Bowl roster of the Belicheats, Bernard Reedy is coming back to his hometown Bucs.

Reedy, the speedy returner/receiver, was signed today after a couple of months on the street.

Through his career, which started as a undrafted free agent in 2014, Reedy has been cut several times and got his first regular-season action with the Bucs last year. The 26-year-old had two catches, three rushes and 14 punt returns before the Bucs cut him and New England picked him up.

Yes, now there’s more competition in the Bucs’ receiving corps. But more interestingly, Reedy was signed within hours of the NFL changing the kickoff rule, a change many believe will yield more returns and be safer for everyone on the kickoff units except the returner.

more oline competition please!!!!!!!…..don’t give benenoch or cappa the job….make them earn it!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  2. DB55 Says:

    1. I’m surprised they did change the rule to include the ball is dead after the 15 yards if picked up by the defense. Seems like pouch kicks would be the play and there more potential for injuries during scrums.

    2. Reedy played very well for the pats eager to see if he can do the same here bc the ST unit has real been abysmal

  3. AlteredEgo Says:

Speedy Reedy…Humps comp…now if only Jameis can hit any eligible WR in stride…..that is kinda what QB’s do…….Vern

  4. OneBucPerson Says:

  6. Dewey Selmon Says:

Webster, mental illness isn’t something to laugh about.

  7. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Reedy? The bucs have a zillion WRs and need OL asap esp on right side that would be a good signing

  8. webster Says:

    @ dewey

Im laughing because many like you were begging the bucs to sign him eventhough he had multiple red flags. So yea thats funny.

  9. Dennis Yauger Says:

U cant say you want more competition for a job and in the next sentence list 2 guys that will be doing just that.

  10. webster Says:

Btw….i stated i would understand if the bucs kicked the tires but my concern was where is his head at? I guess we know the answer to that just as i expected

  11. DB55 Says:

    Yo joe

Forgive me but I have a request. We’ve read our fair share of jw’s potential suspension for off-field actions. I’m curious if your readers are also interested in all the amazing work he does with schools and children in the area? The video he posted yesterday was the epidemy of awesome. That young man will carry that moment for the rest of his life.

  12. DB55 Says:

Just read he was baker acted. Now I want to sign him even more and throw in a bigger signing bonus. Every team needs a Richie Incognito.

  13. 813bucboi Says:

    dennis

ok smart guy….right benenoch will be competing with evan smith for a G spot…..that’s not much competition……cappa will be take the back seat to the injuries Dotson…..not much competition there…..

bring in a vet who can play G or T and have compete…..simple as that!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  14. BucEmUp Says:

Hell yeah Incognito is all screwed up, crazy….we need that up front!

  15. Dewey Selmon Says:

webster, bring up my post where i was begging. If not shut your mouth.

  16. Bucsfan951 Says:

@webby: laugh at mental illness?… wow!

  17. Tampabaybucfan Says:

But, can he sing like Freddie, the Vero Beach Lounge singer?

  18. Reality-is-a-Beotch Says:

Webster your dumb arse makes TMAX look Politically Correct.

  19. Horse Liver Says:

I never understood cutting him. His last game he had his best punt return. Whatever. Welcome back to a great dude.

  20. webster Says:

    @ reality a bucfan951

Obviously you are idiots and thats what you show with every post. I clearly explained what i was laughing at but i forgot, we live in the time of alternative facts. I know you think you can just say anything false enough times the idiots like yourselves will believe it to be true. You guys are an embarrassment to comphrehension skills every where. Go back and read what i found funny you alternative fact idiots

  21. webster Says:

    @ dewey

I dont have to pull up nothing. You jumping on me because you misinterpreted what i was saying lets me know you were all for the signing of incognito. You told on yourself tough guy

  22. Trench War Says:

    welcome back Bernard!

  23. BucHead5588 Says:

WEll it’s nice to know we have a solid return man in camp an hopfully makes the team he did good when he had his shots last year An he got some speed nice slot man as well GoBUCS

  24. BucEmUp Says:

Why isn’t Desean Jackson doing returns? It’s not like he’s a solid number 1 guy. If he takes one to the house and gets long returns that’s better than polishing his finger nails in between offensive possesion s. Him or Ronald Jones should be handling them if ready doesn’t make the cut

  25. SCBucsFan Says:

Webster you wondered where his head was? Boy you are a X Man diagnosing people over the internet.

  26. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

    Speedy Reedy

  27. Not there yet Says:

Yeah ok I like Reedy but sorry he’s not more competition or a threat to beat out anyone on this roster. Get while we’re talking a trip down memory lane let’s go ahead and being back donteea dye and Robert aguayo. Guys who wouldn’t make the roster with a new head coach.

What other guys can we can that can’t get signed in the off-season by anyone

  28. unbelievable Says:

I mean it can only be a good thing if Reedy has competition and can’t make our team.

Not too long ago he would have been our #3 or #4 receiver…

  29. Trench War Says:

It would be nice if Licht is in the ear of Cowboys Jerry Jones for G Zach Martin, who is in a contract dispute. Martin in his last year is due to make 9 million this season and is asking for a new contract which Jones has been waffling on. Maybe a 7th round pick and assume his contract might do the trick. Licht can rework a new contract and we’ll get a pro bowler RG

“more oline competition please!!!!!!!…..don’t give benenoch or cappa the job….make them earn it!!!!!”

Considering they are both backups, they are being given nothing.

  31. Mark2001 Says:

Lightning just weren’t good enough. End of story.

  32. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    BucEmUp Says:
“Why isn’t Desean Jackson doing returns? ”

Because he would drop too many kicks.

  33. cmurda Says:

There go the Bolts per usual. Lets go Bucs.

  34. Bucsfan951 Says:

Lol webbie you’re the queen at drawing lines between the dots. I’m just trying to be like you, baby girl.

  35. __TGH__ Says:

Incognito has been Baker Acted twice before… once for smashing up his own Ferrari with a bat!

No, he’s not a normal human being, but that’s ok. We embrace diversity now. SIGN HIM IMMEDIATELY!!!! (once the doctor says he’s competent enough for the contract to be legally binding).

  36. THEonlyohibucsfan up Says:

Been following this site for a few yearss, I’ll be 27 in june. My family were always Pittsburgh fans and Michigan for college and I became a Bucsfan when I was about 10 years old. Was flipping through the channels one day on the couch after the Steelers beat the Brown’s. Went to Fox and the Buccaneers were on. It was late in the game, Brad Johnson handed off to THE A TRAIN, MIKE ALSOTT. I’ll never forget that play, he dove over the line, was hit by multiple linebackers, was bounced back, stayed on his feet (remarkably, bounced it to the outside, ran over yet another wouod be defender and proceeded to plow through 2 more defenders for a touchdown. I believe it was a game against Minnesota. Right then and there I became a loyal Buccaneer fan. This is my first post, I read this page every day with my coffee soon as my 3 and 1 year old wake up. Much love Joe and all you loyal posters and fans!!! Ready is a kid from a local college, Toledo I believe. About an hour from me. Looking forward to posting more and a great season. Much love, boys! And thanks for your work Joe, definitely glad I stumbled upon this site a few years ago, can’t believe it took me this long to post. I personally thing Reedy is our best option for returns of our current players. Unless whitehead can be productive if he doesn’t earn a significant role on defense this year.

  42. webster Says:

And you are an idiot. I clearly stated that i was not laughing at incognito. Again please go back and read who i was laughing at

  43. Vince C Says:

Bernard can contribute. At Toledo was all MAC 1st team punt, kickoff and WR. Led BUCS in 2017 in punt returns. Had longest kickoff and punt returns for 2017 in spite of being cut after 9 games. Godspeed Bernard!
