Suspension Benefits Bucs In Season Opener

May 8th, 2018

Stop being so negative!

This fresh news has nothing to do with America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

The Saints will be down a man in four short months when Tampa Bay opens the season at New Orleans.

The folks at NBC Sports are Twittering this afternoon that Saints Pro Bowl running back Mark Ingram, who rushed for 1,124 yards last season and 12 touchdowns, has been suspended for a performance enhancing drug violation.

This is a huge loss for the Saints. Fellow Pro Bowler Alvin Kamara, the dazzling rookie running back most fans overhyped last year, never carried the ball more than 12 times in a game, and he only hit that mark three times.

Joe is pumped up. It’s about time the football gods shine on the Bucs. It’s been a couple of years.

Is it wrong to wish that Marshon Lattimore develops an fierce allergy to artificial turf and has to be traded to a team that plays on grass?

Text “TAKEOVER” to 345345 today. Step 1 for joining Ira, Joe and legions of Bucs fans in New Orleans.

Regarding the title of this article, you can say that again.

  2. Trench War Says:

That’s one head off the two headed monster. We just need to frustrate Kamara and wear him out. Tell Vea when he tackles him to just lay on him a few seconds longer, and take your time getting up.

  3. Steven007 Says:

It’ll be much nicer facing those clowns with one less weapon to key on.

  4. AtlBucs Says:

It would have been nice going against them at full strength so that when we drag them we won’t have to hear”BUT, Engram was out”. But, I know: A win is a win.

  5. AtlBucs Says:

That was the best back field in the league last year and shutting them down would have put everyone on notice the Bucs D is back

  6. Buccaneer scotty Says:

I want the best of everyone and so should you!!! Scared?

  7. Jjones Says:

It’s good news for us right now. Hopefully none of our guys get hit with a suspension, if they do this is just news.

  8. Steven007 Says:

This means that likely Ingram was playing most of last year with an unfair advantage. I’m not crying over the suspension. Every team has injuries and BS like this. Certainly we’ve played short-handed with our share of suspensions recently. Hope that doesn’t continue.

  9. SB Says:

It could have been just weed and we all know that isn’t “performance enhancing”

  10. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

    @SB

Pretty sure that they make it know if someone gets pinched for weed instead of “PED’S”

  11. AKick'nTheBucNuts Says:

To sum it up in a word.

    YEAH!

  12. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Hopefully, Ingram has developed a case of “musclehamsteritus”…..and it will affect him all year.

  13. Kobe Faker Says:

I hope Ingram is out for 4 weeks so…

the world can see the true talents of generational player like Alvin Kamara

he is a bigger and faster Marshal Faulk

“I would of made him 1 hell of a special team gunner”

    Klueless Koetter

  14. Jjones Says:

Apparently Saints knew he was being suspended before the draft per Ian Rappaport. I know the PED suspension is different than Winstons POSSIBLE suspension but, can the NFL get a move on already?

  15. Dewey Selmon Says:

I never wish injury on anyone but a tweaked hammy on Kamara would be nice.

  16. DB55 Says:

    Well that explains a lot.

  17. Bird Says:

    Nice

  18. 813bucboi Says:

    DILLY DILLY!!!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….#PRESSURESONTHECOACHES!!!…GO BUCS!!!!

  19. donuts Says:

    Joe-
I think there is something wrong with the Ira podcast (Wed) and its connection to Apple podcast app/platform. I cannot see the new one when I refresh it. You may want to peek at it since its an odd day release. You may have to hit publish.

    thx

  20. donuts Says:

I think the funnier thing about this whole situation is he asked for a RAISE and told the team that he would not be there for OTAs after the suspension was announced.

This may get real ugly and thats good for the Bucs.

  21. StAugBuc Says:

    Donuts,
    You know today is Tuesday?

  22. SOEbuc Says:

Nice. Okay young DBs. You fikina feel a Brees opening day. Get ready. And D-line you need to be puttin his ass on the floor every play to help them out. Koetter and Smitty, have Kwon and LVD blitzing like no tomorrow.

  23. SOEbuc Says:

But one more reason for Roger Trump and the rest of the NFL hating Bucs to suspend Jameis.

  24. SOEbuc Says:

    *Bucs hating NFL

  25. Trench War Says:

If you’re a Buc fan this is how it will probably go,

New Orleans Saints RB Mark Ingraham has been suspended 4 games for PED starting the second week of the season. …yep …It’s a Buc’s Life

  26. Greecosuave Says:

It was a spiked Martini at the horse track.

    This means Super Bowl right?

    …and then I woke up.

  27. Howard Cosell Says:

Negative fans don’t pay the bills for sports franchise owners or the local media, but HEY!…..if you made your bed then you have to lie in it, right? Everyone understands that, with the possible exception of entitled, insulated brats.

  28. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Warning: Do NOT expect this to be a major weakness for the Aints. Luckily for them they have months to prepare for this. Don’t be surprised when the 3rd string runs for 75 yards on 5 carries because that is exactly our luck…

  29. SCBucsFan Says:

New Orleans had its fair share of bad luck with Katrina but I don’t consider this bad luck. I consider Ingram being a dope. All NFL teams have them but I’m glad it wasn’t us.

  30. Oxycondoms Says:

Wonder why they are making an example out of Ingram. The majority of the league is on peds

  31. Not there yet Says:

I know we will be tough against the run but their passing game is usually where they win games, corners and the safeties t still have to earn it but oh well nobody cares about our injuries last year so don’t care if a key guy is on the sidelines, a win is a win but if we still lose it probably was because of the secondary and Winston

  32. Rrsrq Says:

I hope the Bucs don’t believe the hype,

    Sincerely,
    Alfred Blue &
    Adrian Peterson

  33. Dave Pear Says:

    Oxycondoms.

That may be true, but the league tells you when they are going to test for illegal substances. And according to Miko Grimes you have to be a fool to fail a test. But once you do then that is a totally different game. Now come the random tests.

  34. AlteredEgo Says:

    Oxycondoms…I think I like you….

  35. Roy T. Buford Says:

So with Winston possbily being out too, it will be a wash. Yeah, Dalvin Cook went down early in MIN, and I thought must maybe….

    Nawwww……definitely nawwwww.

This just means Brees will throw more….

Can’t blame Joe for offering a ray of hope…but I save these for game week.

  36. NFLNut Says:

Kamara is a bad boy but he should never have won R.O.Y.

  37. Tval Says:

never wish injury on an opponent, not even a hammy. best vs best.. this team can do some SERIOUS damage vs anyone. consistency. every damn play of every series.. people, EVEN AROUND HERE, act like the pats are crazy special.. belicheck just keeps it simple while everyone else buckles. thats what i loved when i saw pats vs jameis thurs night..GUARANTEE ole Billy boy is watching jameis contract talks..FITZ!!! LMAO!!!

  38. Lamarcus Says:

It doesn’t matter we make lesser talent look like stars. I’ll bet kamara goes over 100 yards on the ground. Don’t tell there is new players now and it’s gonna change. That’s not proven.

No reason to be excited about 1 player named Ingram is gone and it helps our chances. Now Brees it will be different. I know Ingram impact cuz he was fantasy back. I just don’t see it.

  39. Mike Johnson Says:

i don’t care if Mikey Mouse and Gooffy are playin for us or the Saints. I just don’t want to hear those lame a,..excuses. Get her done Bucs. We are tired of losing and the..sermons on the mount. God helps those who..help themselves.

  40. Eric Says:

Not to burst the bubble of optimism, but Brees will be playing.

  41. Drew aka q Says:

One word joe … “Kamara” nuff said

  42. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    “Stop being so negative!

This fresh news has nothing to do with America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.” – J0E

    LOL…I’m so busted 😉

On topic though…I don’t think stopping the run will be an issue at all this year. Not with the Dline Licht has assembled. Pass rush should be improved too, though I could see it taking half a year to really get going.

  43. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Blake_Bucsfan Says
“Pretty sure that they make it know if someone gets pinched for weed instead of “PED’S””

It is against League and team policy to reveal the exact reasons. Sometimes a player will reveal it, or sometimes a reporter will get the inside scoop (or claim to), but the league usually does not.

  44. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Jjones Says
“Apparently Saints knew he was being suspended before the draft”

Drug testing is in March I think, so all teams are notified before the draft for that type of suspension. It;s the investigations that delay notifying the teams.

  45. Atlbucs Says:

    @Kobe Faker

I refereed Kamara in high school and all I can say is that he was amazing then but more so now.
