Where’s Jason Licht’s “Biscuit?”

March 14th, 2018

Changed philosophy?

Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht has always been a GM fond of risk — big ones.

The guy walked into Tampa and cut a Hall of Fame cornerback in his prime and signed off on Josh McCown to lead the team to the promised land, among other ballsy moves, including trades of Mark Barron and Jonathan Casillas.

The next year, Licht was desperate for offensive linemen and didn’t sign one in free agency. After drafting Jameis Winston and his baggage No. 1 overall when Marcus Mariota was the “safer” pick in the eyes of many, Licht proceeded to nail his desired o-linemen in the draft, including trading up for a Division III left tackle who was targeted to play right guard.

Then Licht traded up into Round 2 the following year to draft a kicker — after jockeying picks in the first round to score an extra selection that helped him make that leap. He also invested in an old cornerback whose outspoken wife was scaring away a lot of teams.

Last year, Licht kept the risk train rolling, gambling that the worst running back in the NFL in 2016, Doug Martin, wouldn’t be the worst running back in the NFL again. He also was willing to move that flourishing Division III right guard to center, and to draft a linebacker coming off ACL surgery and pencil him into the starting lineup.

And there are other risks on Licht’s resume. As Licht likes to quote from his friend and former NFL Coach of the Year Bruce Arians, “no risk-it, no biscuit.”

This morning, with national media talking a lot about the “leftovers” now available in free agency after a flurry of agreements the past two days, the Bucs haven’t been one of the teams in the signing mix.

That could change in a hurry. Or maybe not at all.

Joe can’t believe Licht all of a sudden has abandoned his risk taking, especially with the Bucs entering free agency was an absolute mountain of salary cap room, the most in the NFC.

Or perhaps that itself is the new risk: Go status woe and draft strong for a 5-11 team.

Lol McKinnon to 49ers. Tua 2020!

  2. tmaxcon Says:

    4-12

  3. Easy Says:

I think Suh is on the radar. And all the people freaking out about not signing a running back. This team will draft one early and maybe in the first round of a QB needy trades up to where the Bucs are.

  4. SteveK Says:

Calais Campbell, Robert Quinn, Marcus Peters, Michael Bennett, Aqua Talib could all have been had by Licht and he chose to pass for the likes of Doug Martin, Will Gholston, and Swaggy Baker.

Somethings gotta give, and this team should be better.

The same picks Licht shelled out to trade up for a kicker could’ve been used on the fore mentioned impact defenders.

    Status woe indeed!

  5. Easy Says:

    Tmaxcon-

What if a player refused to sign here because they would have to play with Cancer93?

  6. Glazers Almanac Says:

Im sticking with my theory that Glazers zipped up the wallet this year. They have spent money and most cases over spent in the past 4 years with Licht on players and coaches. IE: mike smith trash ass. They are making Licht win with the coaching staff and team he over sold to them. This is a stagnant year then clean house. Licht can self evauate his team and staff as well as an anorexic chick looking the mirror and seeing a fat chick

  7. Jman Says:

    Easy you mean Canton93?

  8. SCBucsFan Says:

I’m more optimistic about most when it comes to the Bucs but with so many holes I’m shocked at the inactivity. Most free agents aren’t worth what they cost but with all of this teams needs I find it hard they haven’t found anything worth spending money on.

  9. Gobucs Says:

    F this team

  10. tmaxcon Says:

    Easy

I guarantee over the last 8 years players have skipped bucs because of the soft clown cancer93

  11. Bj_863 Says:

Seems like they don’t care about the fans honestly. They don’t care if they win or not

  12. Jman Says:

    Tua 2020

  13. tmaxcon Says:

    Jman

I realize the hall of fame bar was significantly lowered when dungy the clown was enshrined but using a canton reference to a POS career loser and undisputed face of the basement years cancer93 is really, really comical. Cancer93 has not one signature game in his ENTIRE CAREER nor does he have a single meaningful win in his ENTIRE CAREER… he’s closer to Port O Let than Canton. Flush the disease that is cancer93

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Like I said….the plan looks to be save cap space, draft picks, resign young players…..and leave Licht & Koetter to sink or swim.

  15. Tnoles Says:

Do you think Malcom Glazer would be sitting on his hands? NOPE! If they would have hired Gruden do you think he would be sitting on his hands with basically total control of the organization? NOPE! Not saying Gruden would have done anything with the talent but you better believe it would at least be coming here. Licht still thinks the “Patriot way” is how to win by building through the draft and signing top notch players for cheap but no one wants to come play here for peanuts you have to basically overpay to get them here then after you make the playoffs consistently then you have leverage with F/A’s but not a 5-11 team. You are at the mercy of the market. 6-10 next year.

  16. Bird Says:

    Biscuits are good. Hhhmmmhhhhmmm

Well here is to ej Gaines , Jensen and sitton ?

Man. We got to get someone or one buc may get burned to the ground.

  17. BrianBucs Says:

I sense a big, unexpected trade coming on. Maybe draft day, maybe before. Things are just way too quiet at One Buc

  18. tmaxcon Says:

Malcon Glazer made 2 huge mistakes given birth brain dead children and waiting 3 years to long to send dungy the clown packing. It was evident after year 3 dungy was a one dimensional ignorant fool that would never get the job done.

  19. Jman Says:

Levity was the intent I’m glad you were amused. But seriously .. Tua 2020

  20. BetterBuccinBelieveIt Says:

    Bucs fans, Bucs fans….

With Carlos Hyde being signed by the Browns to a 3 year, 15 mill offer, the great Mike Florio (and this Buc fan too) thinks that move will take the Browns out of the SA-QUON sweepstakes at #1 and #4. With Gettleman in NY missing out on Norwell, and [possibly Nate Solder also today, Peter King and Florio think that Gettleman (and his background) will no doubt HAVE to take Nelson, presumably at #2 or maybe just lower. That leaves the Colts at #3.

So with all the Dline and Oline needs of the Colts, and the prospect of all the other teams like the Bills jumping up to get their QB at #2-#4, the TASK of obtaining a mister SA-QUON, say-gone BARKLEY, just got much easier for Jason.

Only 4 premium picks including the #7 overall pick this year, are all that are required to obtain THE TRUE GEM of this year’s draft class…in SA-QUON BARKLEY 🙂 Now, mix in Jason’s background in trading UP, not down–look at the stats in past drafts of Licht’s for the disgruntled—and you get a very good recipe, of just re-establishing something hopeful, something very ENTERTAINING for the loyal Buc paying public on game days, and the NATIONAL MEDIA ATTENTION, that SA-QUON will bring, undeniably.

🙂 Stay hopeful, reasonable, read the tea leaves Buc fans.

Go Bucs! Go BARKLEY! Go Bold! Go Primetime!

  21. Eric Says:

The Glazer’s are always in a state of correction.

Fire Gru for the young coach as it was a league trend.

Fire players coach Raheem for the disciplinarian Schiano

Back to players coach with Lovie.

From defensive to offensive minded coach with Koetter.

Go big in free agency, get burned, then do nothing in free agency.

a blueprint for failure, which is what we got.

  22. thunderchunkyPA Says:

I am tired of some people telling us to be patient. WTF, it’s been OVER a DECADE since this team was worth a damn. At what point can we, the fans, be allowed to be angry, frustrated, and demand better? Licht has now put ALL his eggs in the draft basket, and the corner he painted himself in to, is the size of a Ritz cracker.

  23. Tnoles Says:

Looks like Robinson took Licht’s biscuits to the Titans. He isn’t afraid to spend money look at their past two or three F/A classes and oh yeah they made the playoffs last year right? Hmm……

  24. thunderchunkyPA Says:

IF he is going with the draft, trade GMC. David, D Jax, get rid of Ayers, and go young. Stop this band-aid bull S#!t. Eagles turned it around in 2 years, Rams, Vikings, and now the 49ers, should I go on. Be patient my ass.

  25. Ocala Says:

The Bucs have way too many holes to sit on the sideline

  26. tmaxcon Says:

    BetterBuccinBelieveIt

That all sounds well and good but Barkley most likely will sit out a year than play for the most embarassing organization in all of pro sports

  27. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Licht has had nailed one legit draft pick and that is mike evans and that was a no brainer the rest are all entirely question marks……so the crafty genious label does not really apply because the record of his tenure speaks LOUDLY and carries an abysmal result

  28. Lamarcus Says:

Too many dark days in the basement. I hate to say it but I’m inspired by the Browns

  29. Steve Says:

The Bucs are going to do absolutely nothing in free agency. Why do you think they’re trying to get everyone to renew their season tickets by tomorrow? Because they know when all the fancy zero activity and free agency they’re most likely not going to renew their tickets!

  30. Dewey Selmon Says:

I would draft Nelson if there and grab a RB in rd 2. If Dirk wants to save his job he is going to have to outscore teams in shootouts.

  31. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

LaMarcus….the Browns and the 49ers are gonna be on the brink of the playoffs if not in them this year

  32. Defense Rules Says:

Let me make sure that I understand Licht’s ‘PLAN’ Joe. We signed 34-yr-old Brent Grimes for 1-yr at $10 mil. Houston signed 26-yr-old Colvin for 4-yrs at $8.5 mil per. Carolina signed 26-yr-old Breeland for 3-yrs at $9 mil per. Jacksonville signed 27-yrs-old Hayden for 3-yrs at $6.3 mil per. We won’t talk about Butler, Sherman or Amukamara but they were all in the $10 mil ballpark. Yup, the PLAN is becoming clearer & clearer.

  33. tmaxcon Says:

The browns are going to hang 50 on cancer93 and his girls

    4-12

  34. SteveK Says:

    This is beyond depressing.

If our team finishes in last place in the division, do fans have the right to point to the inactivity this offseason as a major contributing factor?

I love what the Browns are doing. Wheeling and dealing in an effort to turn it around.

I just can’t fathom how a lack of moves will yield winning results. We have the 4th best QB, Pass Rush, Defense, RB, GM, and HC in the division. How do a lack of moves move the needle in favor of the Bucs?

I am hopeful we make a sh!t ton of trades or something. Status woe is depressing.

  35. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I’m starting to agree with others that the Glazers have closed the wallet, and likely told Licht he can’t spend draft capital especially future draft capital. It makes sense if you believe this current regime is a dead man walking. The Glazers need to make sure the team looks good to the next GM and coach prospect. They likely don’t want a team filled with fat contacts made in desperation. Next year the new coach and GM will have Picks and cap $$$ to build the roster they want.

  36. mike10 Says:

I’m starting to embrace the only silver lining of these past 2 days, and couple years: that Licht will most likely be here 1 more year.

I’m sure Koetter is losing his mind right now!

  37. JonBuc Says:

The biscuits are in his belly/boiler….dumb, fat & happy. A winning/losing percentage of .333 is apparently good enough to keep a GM gig. Who knew?

  38. tmaxcon Says:

Resigning your own baserment dwelling talent is not a plan nor a pathway to exit the basement… just means your paying more coin to lose.

  39. Bucn Enough Says:

    This ownership sucks
    This GM sucks
    This coach sucks
This team sucks …perpetually ( except for 5-6 years our of 42 )

  40. QUE 5 Says:

The clock is ticking and the losing culture hasn’t changed yet. Smh

  41. Lamarcus Says:

U better sign JW to his mega deal today. Might as well. Pay him 250 million for 7 years. He is our only hope suspension or not.

  42. SteveK Says:

    Tmaxcon,

Agreed with you there. Hard to improve from last place when you’re only resigning last place finishers. I like the Evans, Brate and Grimes resigning, but they would look a helluva lot better if these moves were made in conjunction with other signings like Carlos Hyde, E.J. Gaines, and Muhammad Wilkerson.

If we fail to sign an outside FA, then we are doomed. This makes zero sense. Last place here we come, again!

Koetter must be pulling his hair out. This is not an ample opportunity to coach a winning team.

Calais Campbell should be a Buc damn it.

  43. Lamarcus Says:

Browns still picking Barkely. Hyde is no number 1

  44. SteveK Says:

    Lamarcus,

I would be open to extending Winston on an affordable deal, but the fact remains if he is suspended next year, then another suspension after that would be a year long one. Can’t win paying top coin to our QB and he’s suspended. See Doug Martin.

  45. Bird Says:

    McKinnon to 49ers

That deal will make him the 4th highest paid running back.

    That is stupid money

  46. Kobe Faker Says:

Like Kobe has said many times…We let the correct GM (Jon Robinson) out of the building instead kicking out Forrest Gump

“Free Agency is like a box of chocolates..you sit on your hands and get nada”

    Jason Gump

  47. tmaxcon Says:

    Bucn Enough

2 good years 1 underr mckay and 1 under gruden. Dungy teams were one dimensional pretenderrs never contenders. Dungy coached a horrible team with a great defense that accomplished nothing. It’s a shame the stubborn and ignorant dungy wasted Whyces defense and hall of famers.

  48. SteveK Says:

Agree, Browns may take Barkley or Chubb at 1, and possibly a QB or Barkley or Chubb if their at 4.

Dorsey is building a squad. I hope we play them this year so we can see how their approach vs. our frustrating approach works. My bet is that they whoop our ass bc this team is no better than the 5-11 sh!t show from last year.

  49. SCBucsFan Says:

Bird – alot of these deals are stupid, no doubt.

  50. tmaxcon Says:

FEAR LOSING NOT THE SALARY CAP

  51. SteveK Says:

    Love Faker,

Starting to agree with that notion. Robinson won a playoff game with the QB we passed on, and is still wheeling and dealing to make his team better. What is Gump doing besides drinking beer and eating multiple varieties of shrimp?

  52. SCBucsFan Says:

SteveK – that isn’t fair. The Browns have won 1 game in the last 2 years while selling off what little talent they had. They had no choice, despite themselves, to get better. Bucs could easily sell off all their talent, win no games for 2 years then build a better team. Its hard to believe but the mood could actually get worse in here if they did that.

  53. SteveK Says:

Bucs have most cap space in the nfc, and the biggest glaring hole at DE in the entire nfl. Yet we do nothing. Wtf Licht?

Realist, please enlighten me on how this team will be equipped to not finish in last place and make a run to the playoffs next season?

  54. IsrBuc Says:

Nobody knows anything. You all assume this is a do or die season for the reigeme. It might be but it doesn’t have to be.
Basically you all assume the glazer boys are dumb to let this reigeme go all-in for their own sake on the organization’s expense. This is a bit stupid, isn’t it?
If you are a glazer, would you tell your GM to do whatever he wants as a desparate attempt to save his own ass?
Regardless, though, I’ for years, think the glazer boys are not their father. They care more about buisness than football. they like owning a sports team and everything related to that but on the field production is a different story. Them buying a soccer club support this theory. I dont think they care about soccer at all. They still made this big move of buying one of te gratest clubs in the world. Does it make them soccer fans? I dont think so.

  55. The Buc Realist Says:

No panic here!!! Word on the street is that the Bucs will purchase a Guard and CB in FA, and will fill in the rest in the draft!!!!!!

Only when the window is closing or starting over do teams go crazy in FA!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  56. tmaxcon Says:

    SC

Brown’s still have a significantly better winning percentage than the pathetic bucs organization

Bucs have no talent to sell off and have been worse than browns the last decade…. reality sucks sir…

You can’t rewrite history with hope and prayers… there is no defense for glazers sir…

You are welcome any time you’d like to join me in reality. First drink and lap dance is on me.

  57. Lamarcus Says:

    Sc

F that. The Bucs needs to start clucking off their players like GMC, Grimes, Conte give Koetter his bad ass team Licht. Why is that hard? I can pick about 10 ppl on this blog to run the Bucs better than Licht. And yes that includes Tmaxcon was one of them.

  58. SteveK Says:

    Sc bucfan,

I’d prefer the Bucs suck the most in the nfl the next two years if it will lead to a successful rebuild. However, we were supposed to be competitive.

What won’t be fair is when Cleveland wins and goes to the playoffs and we take over as the worst team in the nfl. What isn’t fair is having no defender get 10+’sacks in a season in 12 years and our gm fails to trade for a DE.

What isn’t fair is season ticket prices going up and the product is the same or worse.

What isn’t fair is Buc fans being held hostage by the nfl on the Jameis Winston investigation.

What isn’t fair is that next year looks like a lost year before it even started.

  59. Lamarcus Says:

Licht screwed himself with the fanbase with that public announcement video he made talking about getting a winner here

  60. tmaxcon Says:

Relax guys we are so so very close

  61. Bobby M. Says:

    Our needs:

    LG
    C
    RB(s)
    DT
    DE
    CB
    Possibly Safety
    Possibly Kicker

In 4 drafts (28 picks), we’ve acquired 7 starters….keep in mind they are not all high impact starters. I’m guessing we solidify the offense with draft/FA and its duct tape for the defense.

  62. SCBucsFan Says:

Bucs have no talent to sell off? Now who is unrealistic?

Praying for you TMax. Saying you are a realist doesn’t make is so.

  63. SteveK Says:

    Lamarcus,

You’re right get 10 JBFers in a room and we will do no worse than the current regime or their predecessors.

If it were up to us, Calais Campbell would be here, or at least extended a fatter offer than the Jags. We extended no offer in favor of Gholston, Druggernaut, and Swaggy tree grinder Baker.

  64. jb™ Says:

Looks like this will be our families last season with Bucs season Tickets after 42 years. Add on that the Glazers are hosting Black Tie Campaign Dinners for Donald “I should be president for Life” Trump, they figure they can win with what got ’em to a 5-11 record in 2017. How these people ever accumulated their vast wealth, is somewhat puzzling.

  65. 813bucboi Says:

    glazer almanac….TBBF….conte piscatelli

we share the same views……it makes sense and its starting to become obvious….

I think the glazers found out toward the end of last year right before or after the saints game that Winston will have to sit 6games so they decided to bring the staff back, save cap space and get a high draft pick for the new regime…..

being this inactive in FA when your 5-11 is cause for concern unless you have plan in place to clean house…..

    no urgency!!!!!!…..no excuses!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!!

  66. Nick2 Says:

Licht has done so poorly in Free Agency he has been handcuffed this year by the Glazers. What else could Miko Grimes have been referring to. The Glazers may be quiet in the media but lets not imagine that this lack of spending to upgrade in a few key areas was directed by a change of Jason Licht philiosphy. No sadly Jason doesn’t have the street cred to convince the Glazers to spend for a team badly in need of it. He needs to do something fast but it looks as if its not at all up to him. He has marching orders from our penny pinching owners.

  67. SteveK Says:

    Realist,

I hope we get a OG and CB. I’d hate to bank on Heargraves and Sweezy to be competent starters moving forward.

What about D-Line? We are thin and soft up front.

  68. TOM Says:

How about signing Suh & trading McCoy to Raiders for #2. Resign McDonald, cut Gholston & keep Ayers.

  69. SCBucsFan Says:

From what I read here I can pick 10 JBFers on here, put them in a room and they couldn’t find the door much less run a NFL franchise.

But, to be fair, they have tremendous hindsight.

  70. SteveK Says:

Glazers drop all kinds of cash on their soccer squad. Why not the Bucs?

They should be more interested in winning than they are. They are rich beyond their wildest dreams and at this point it should be about their father’s winning legacy. Disgraceful and dissatisfied and disappointed are the feelings around here.

  71. SteveK Says:

    Tom,

I’d be all about that. Get a mean DT and. quality pick for gmc. Win-win

  72. Issic Haggins Says:

Lottsa guys so far getting crazy deals that may hurt down the road.

Like Hyde for 5 mil though……… Like Hyde for A lil more actually.

Like Poe for 8 or 9and S Richardson is worth 10 to 12. I think Richardson can actually play some end or bounce McCoy out there in certain situations .

Bucs may have to pay a lil more w Jameis thing hanging over their head. The Glazers should be filing suit against the NFL for not meeting fiduciary obligations to the leagues members in regards to the investigation. No Way possible the league isn’t negligent !! Glazers can and should have Goodells Ass !!!

  73. SteveK Says:

    Sc,

I’ll bite. I bet 10 posters on here could do no worse than the supposed “brain trust”.

    Think about it.

I was clamoring for Campbell last year, no hindsight.

I wanted druggernaut gone, no hindsight.

I would be done with Sweezy and into a competent OG. I’d sign a C and move Marpet back to OG.

Hindsight is much different than calling the shots before hand.

  74. SCBucsFan Says:

Sign Solder, draft Nelson. Give up the year, make the line stronger for the future. Keep sifting thru DEs and try to find a turd you can polish.

  75. SteveK Says:

Putting up the same exact formula and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

  76. SCBucsFan Says:

SteveK people are clamoring the Glazers are closing the pursestrings. I guess you would be able to convince him otherwise?

  77. SteveK Says:

Glazers need to spend 90% of the cap in order to comply with the CBA rule they had a large part in creating with their cheap ways.

Absolutely would do my damnedest to call nvince them otherwise. Sitting back and getting destroyed on sundays is not a way to go. Be the hammer, not the nail.

  78. Shane247 Says:

Hey, remember that time the Bucs had the worst rated defense in the NFL and they stood pat while everyone else bolstered their defenses.

Oh, and what about that time their running game was abysmal and they did nothing to to improve their O-line or improve their stable of running backs.

And I almost forgot about that time they evaluated their coaching staff after a 5-11 season and decided that outside of 1 coaching position everything else was perfect.

This organization reminds me of those theater masks both tragic and comedic!

  79. SteveK Says:

    Sc,

I’d love Solder and Nelson, but doubt Nelson makes it to 7 and solder is being pursued by a few teams. Not sure we have a shot, but yeah he’s a very good player.

  80. SCBucsFan Says:

And you think Licht is just sitting there nodding his head saying I want you and Man U to make all the money you can?

  81. tmaxcon Says:

    Sc

The bucs have given up for the last 16 years why not another. I guess i see your logic just keep giving up until you figure it out. That’s a sound business model LOL

The lengths people go to accept and justify failure with false hope never ceases to amaze me.

  82. SCBucsFan Says:

SteveK, if you are going to overpay in FA – and you are going to – then get an important player like Solder. Hyde? McKinnon? They are all over the league. Spend money on players who can take you to the next level. Most of these FAs signing I couldn’t care less they went somewhere else. People are whining they aren’t coming here because they like to whine. Better then kicking the dog I guess.

  83. Phil Says:

It’s nice to see we have done nothing to improve our roster so far. Should be another fun season.

  84. Charles Stevens Says:

Maybe the reason the glazers are quiet in free agency because they are tired of throwing good money after bad IE revis and ass load Baker. The Bucs could have saved a ton of money bye just going up in the stands and finding a 300 pound dude who loves football and gotten more production .How embarrassing .
And forget Saquon Barkley until they get the o line problems fixed, otherwise he’s wore out bye mid season or injured.
    Fix the lines first …….!!!!!

  85. tmaxcon Says:

    Charles Stevens

Glazer love wasting cash… they flushed a 100 million dollars down the toilet on cancer93 and received absolutely nothing in return but excuses and failure

  86. BetterBuccinBelieveIt Says:

Most folks on here think that Dorsey, Gettleman, Beane, Elway are GM minds that will just be willfully defiant and take a player at #1-#5. They are all old-school, smart as hell frachise-building minds, that are open to OFFERS that they CAN’T REFUSE.

THIS is where I make a hell of a lot more sense, than the imbeciles on here, that profess such determination that no GM in the top 5 will answer Licht’s call while on the clock. They will look at what is best for THEIR more prosperous franchises, and accept the trade from Licht, while still driving a hard bargain.

Saquon Barkley. This Bucs fan believes, Licht will go TAKE HIM from other franchises. Take what you want, don’t ask for it. He’ll go take him.

As for those who feel (somehow with absolutely no first-hand knowledge whatsoever or actions identifiable to prove it) that the Glazers will tie Jason’s hands in the draft on any picks in any draft years, you’re DEAD WRONG. Dead effing wrong. Think about it fools, are they going to be in on every decision that hasn’t yet presented itself, when unexpected things go down within 10 minutes on the clock that NO ONE foresees yet?!? Or if Jason can unload bloated contracts and move up for PLAYERS WHO FILL THE STANDS, PUT US ON NFL NETWORK WITH BARKELY?!? Shift the NFL scheduling landscape. YEAH….Glazers don’t any FREE publicity, no! 🙂 Glazers won’t and can’t possibly ascertain what the scenarios will be.

I grant that they may certainly have had input with Licht on no massive FA spending spree, that makes some sense, and has everything to do with the bottom line of the net operating income of the franchise, and their displeasure in the 5-11 2017 seasons.

NOT the free (low cost 5 year-optioned) college kid gonna change the TV and season tix holders landscape….imbeciles.

Remember, Jason will go TAKE HIS, not ask. A world of difference.

    Go Bucs!

  87. JonBuc Says:

Licht’s corporate credit card for free agency may have been revolked:

    Anthony Saprano-Collins
    Michael Ghostrider Johnson
    Chris Pastry Baker
    JR Sweezey Swindle
    Nick Folk-Song
Ghost Gholston ( re-up while bidding against himself )
    TJ Ward-Turd

I suppose I would “take a knee” on free agency and the 2018 season as well if I were a lucky member of the good-looking Glazer clan.

I have a question. Joe you point to moving Ali Marpat from G to C as a risk taken by Jason Licht. At what point do the coaches get the final say? Of course, Licht has final say on who to sign in free agency and for how much as well as in the draft. But, who has final say as to how to employ the men Licht signs? It would seem to me the coaches with Drik Koetter as the decider in chief would have final say about on field decision like who plays what position. Of course, Licht would be involved in the discussions, but it would seem if Koetter and the O-line coach want to move Marpat from G to C it would be their call.

    Stop defending Licht.
Playoff drought is a decade long.
Team has not won a playoff game in over 15 years.

They deserve zero benefit of the doubt.
There is no plan where a 5-11 team with a ton of cap room decides to sit out free agency and only sign its own players.

Look at how active the winning Rams, Eagles, etc are – you know, the teams that turned it around quickly. But the losing Bucs have a better plan?

They missed out on a historic crop of young Pro bowl available talent.

IF HE HAD FIXED THE TRENCHES, HE WOULD HAVE FIXED THE BUCS!!
