Miko Grimes Responds To Maurice Jones-Drew Saying Bucs And Brent Grimes Are Done

March 5th, 2018

Miko adds clarity

It sure doesn’t feel like Jason Licht is backing up bags full of Team Glazer loot to the Brent Grimes household — at least not bags bigger than the ones Grimes dragged in the past two seasons.

Earlier today, Joe brought fresh word from Maurice Jones-Drew, a friend of Dirk Koetter and the stud running back who played five seasons for him in Jacksonville.

Speaking on NFL Network live at the NFL Scouting Combine, Jones-Drew said Brent Grimes and the Bucs were done.

Joe typed up the chatter and the inevitable speculation. Well, Joe then got a very quick Twitter response from mercurial NFL superwife Miko Grimes.

You can read here take on the situation below:

https://twitter.com/iHeartMiko/status/970748584437182468

Well said, Miko: “Scared money don’t make no money.”

It sure sounds like the Bucs aren’t putting enough on the table to keep Grimes from testing the free agency market. And that is unfortunate.

For Joe, the Grimes free-agency situation is simple: Pay the man. The Bucs have wasted so much money in recent years on broken down players or guys who brought little to the table beyond their bad attitude. Grimes is not in that crowd and the Bucs are desperate at corner.

Simple stuff. Get the checkbook.

I’m sure the front office is making this a priority, just have a lot going on w the combine, senior bowl. To the best of my knowledge they haven’t re-signed anyone, only let the guys go they didn’t want.

That being said, this should be addressed in the near future. No use in messing around w this.

  2. Steve in Mad Beach Says:

    Grimes 1, Licht 0

  3. NFLNut Says:

Grimes is a fantastic player but he’s OLD, period … let him walk and bring in a younger guy like Kyle Fuller, Malcolm Butler, EJ Gaines, etc … I wish Grimes all the best though as he really is an inspiration

  4. BucswinBucswin Says:

    Licht is too scared !!

  5. MtBucsFan Says:

This is the standard of the franchise. Why keep the ones who work hard and excel when you can get cheap failures. I love my Bucs but dam we do more stupid crap than any other team. Hell even Miko doesn’t hate the Bucs! That means alot! Pay the man!!!!!!!

  6. JA Says:

Let Grimes sniff the senior citizen CB market and, unless he gets something insane, beat it and pay him…he doesn’t appear to hate it here so send him off into the sunset with a few extra dollars.

  7. LakeLand Says:

March 14 is right around the corner, we shall see.

  8. Guzziep Says:

Fortunately this is a deep CB DT draft, need an infusion of youth, these 30+ bridge players are getting hurt too often, MCCOY will be 30 next year time to draft his replacement and let him rotate this year

  9. NFLNut Says:

Talib and Minkah could be nasty … tall ballhawks that can give QBs nightmares … but Malcolm Butler or Kyle Fuller and a kid like Denzel Ward could be dynamic as well … either way, me thinks Grimes has played his last game for the Bucs and that even just for him, it would make more sense for him to finish out his career with the Steelers or Patriots and chase a ring

  10. LakeLand Says:

Josh Sweat ran a 4.53, then came back and ran a 4.51. I don’t know if he’s a 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB. But with some decent coaching, he could be a solid NFL player.

  11. LakeLand Says:

    His time was 4.53

  12. Trumps Stylist Says:

Grimes is 36 and is a stop gap player. If the Bucs want to wait and see if there is a longer term solution out there (draft or free agency) they absolutely should. They would be doing a disservice to us all if they don’t.

  13. Defense Rules Says:

“Scared money don’t make no money.” Love it. Licht will scour the earth for bargains just long enough to blow it.

  14. Buc50 Says:

Pay the man!!! Even if you draft a corner, he will take time.

Fortunately this is a deep CB DT draft,

Please let me know how you plan on replacing Pro Bowl caliber talent like Grimes with rookies, who have never stepped on an NFL field and are most likely not ready for the speed of the game.

You cannot be cheap with vets and bet on college kids.

  16. BucEmUp Says:

Screw this team they are just as bad as the Rays now never thought I’d say that

  17. Kansas95Buc Says:

God I hope the Bucs have a offseason plan, we need help like last year and there seem to be players that could help us that for whatever reason (Outside of Quinn) we’re not going after, wth gives? Joe can you ask Licht whats going on?

  18. webster Says:

Stupid money dont make sense. Grimes is 36. Why pay him 8 – 10 mil now when his market may be capped at 5 mil when the “dinner bell” rings in a few days. I see some of you guys are drug addicts. You would sell your mother’s brand new 50 inch tv for $2 and a bisquit. Grines is not top priority for any team out there. Let the market settle.

  19. derrickbrooksforGM Says:

Licht is like yo “Joel I want to re-sign Brent, call me back it’s been 2 months buddy. I hope you are getting these messages… ok bye”

  20. tnew Says:

Given the roster, salary cap, Grimes maintaining production and just the need for an off season victory, I see no harm in putting together a nice deal for him for this year. This is a necessary signing given the Bucs situation. I agree deep CB draft, and we could draft two but that doesn’t mitigate the need to sign Grimes.

  21. GhostofSchiano Says:

Just change the Bucs name to MANCHESTER UNITED and the money will flow like a river.

  22. webster Says:

    @ kansas

The new league year has not even started. Only 4 teams have traded players. That leaves what???? 26 teams that have done nothing. Whats with all this panic? You guys are too funny.

  23. tmaxcon Says:

    4-12

  24. Waterboy Says:

    Trumaine Johnson

  25. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

She said they have not spoken? Didn’t Licht say they’ve been in touch????

  26. feelthepewterpower Says:

As much as I hate to say it, I’d let Grimes walk, and bring in younger talent. I would not throw the franchise tag at him, and pay top dollar. Remember, we are not rewarding past production, but rewarding future production. Is he going to be a top 5 corner next year? The odds say no. Like Webster said above, if he wants to come back for less, fine. Otherwise, good luck.

  27. 813bucboi Says:

    LAKELAND

josh sweat would be nice….IF…we had a coaching staff that knew how to develop DE’s(and CB’s)……

I doubt licht is tuned in to him…..he’s waiting to see eddy perino….lol….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!!

  28. WutdaBucisthis Says:

Let him walk. Stop being scared to move on.

  29. 813bucboi Says:

    Webster

fans are pissed because this staff has shown “0” sense of urgency!!!!!…..you would think with everyone’s jobs on the line they would have a sense of urgency but they don’t……

FA is half the battle…..even if we get kony ealy…Malcolm butler…carlos hyde….big mo we still have to worry about the coaching staff and their lack of adjustments and predictable play calling…..playing to players strength offensively and defensively……

I hope you think its still funny come week1…..

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!!

  30. El_Buc941 Says:

From what Miko is saying, sounds like Brent Grimes DOES want to play next year WITH the Bucs. It just seems Tampa doesn’t want to pay Grimes what he’s asking for.

  31. Architek Says:

    I love that woman! Ugh

  32. WutdaBucisthis Says:

Let’s be clear…no matter who they bring in, its up to coaching. That’s a VERY scary situation to be in…given our coaches going full ‘tard during games. They’re not winning the ‘chip this year. Damn as fans this team sucks. But we love em.
FIX THE TRENCHES!! FIX MY HEART

  33. BucEmUp Says:

At least we have one Tampa professional sports team who’s the owner gives a crap about winning and the city itself just go ahead and fire everybody now it’s only a matter of time anyway

  34. webster Says:

    @ 813

Lack of urgency? Again the new league year has not started. 26 other teams have not made any moves. Being pissed is one thing, but making panic moves does not help either. Lets say the bucs sign grimes right now for 9 mil and he only plays 4 games next year. Everybody thats crying about grimes will be here next season saying how stupid licht was for giving 36 year old grimes 9 mil…..under a different name ofcourse. Look how you guys rip mike smith when you praised licht and the glazers for retaining him just last year. And yes, i think all the whinning/wish washy fans are hillarious.

  35. Dre Says:

Grimes has had a great Career, but it is time to move on. Why overpay for a old cornerback who maybe lost a step when we can bring in and overpay for Trumaine Johnson or fuller…let him go thanks grimes you were good but all good things has to come to an end!

  36. Trumps Stylist Says:

    What Dre said…

  37. Rod Munch Says:

Dre – You need more than one corner and the Bucs have the money to keep Grimes AND get another guy. You need more than one corner, and in the Bucs case they need probably 3 more assuming they keep Grimes and VH3.

  38. Marc Says:

    JOE

The Glazers might want to think about buying a pass rush with their checkbook before bringing in yet another DB….. GET THE CHECKBOOK!

    -Pissed off Bucs fan

  39. LakeLand Says:

I’m glad I wasn’t one of the fans that praised Jason Licht for this pathetic coaching staff and roster.

  40. LakeLand Says:

We have a better coaching staff at Lakeland High.

  41. stanglassman Says:

    32-4=28

  42. GhostofSchiano Says:

This has all the makings of a high stakes poker match, Licht is holding his cards close to his chest, Glazers behind him with the loot putting it on the table as the ante rises. What cards is he holding? Will he draw a joker with a busted FA signing (Baker) or will he play an Ace as he did with Grimes? Will he put down a flush with draft picks or only a pair? Love this time of year the possibilities are endless.

Unfortunately most teams are playing texas hold’em while the Bucs are playing old maid.

  43. LakeLand Says:

The Cowboys will tag Demarcus Lawrence and the Steelers will tag Le’Veon Bell.

    Bank on it

  44. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Why the worry……Hey Jude is healthy!!!

  45. stanglassman Says:

Adjei-Barimah won’t be tendered by the Buccaneers and will become a free agent, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

  46. Mike Says:

May be the best and only true professional on the team

  47. Rod Munch Says:

While I’m very annoyed about the lack of effort put forth in getting the Quinn deal done, I’m not too concerned – yet – about resigning of Grimes or anyone else. Those normally happen after the combine and currently the combine is going on. I can’t see the Bucs not getting the deal done with Grimes as there just isn’t anyone else out there that is better than he is right now, and that includes Trumaine, he might be better in 2 years, but for next year, Grimes is the guy. What the Bucs need to do is to get both. Sign Grimes for 2 more years and then when Winston gets his money in 2 years Grimes will be coming off the books. Pretty straight forward stuff. Also if I was the Bucs I’d still try to trade for Talib, again, a guy that has 2 years left on his contract, perfect timing since he’d be coming off his deal as Winston gets his money. The Bucs have a 2 year window where they get an extra $15-20 million because of Winston’s rookie deal, so use that money.

  48. Buc believer Says:

Licht is such a …usy I bet Miko could kick his …ss!

  49. Pawel Says:

I thought we won games when Grimes was out.

  50. Rod Munch Says:

Buc believer – Lets really think about this… Licht vs Miko…

Licht is obviously bigger, heavier and stronger, but Miko would have a huge cardo advantage. Based on the way Licht acts and looks I think he would not being willing to hit a girl, meanwhile Miko would probably immediately go for the balls, the eyes and ripping out his hair. Now if Licht was willing to fight then one punch and she’d be out, women just can’t deal with mens overwhelming power, so she’d have to move and not get hit. However one hit to the balls would put Licht down, so Miko has that in her bag. If Licht did have a meanstreak and wore a cup then he’d easily win, but he doesn’t and he wouldn’t, so I’d give Miko the edge via stoppage about 2 1/2 minutes into the 1st round.

  51. Rod Munch Says:

Pawel – Go watch the Vikings game…

  52. Chris Says:

When the Browns have a better future then you….its time to re evaulate everyone in this organization….although…I believing Tmax more and more, owners are either non caring or incompetent…

  53. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Wake me up when there’s a trade or signing……………

  54. Rod Munch Says:

    NFL All Time Winning %….

    25 Cincinnati Bengals .457
    26 New York Jets .454
    27 Jacksonville Jaguars .448
    28 New Orleans Saints .447
    29 Atlanta Falcons .443
    30 Houston Texans .430
    31 Arizona Cardinals .429
    32 Tampa Bay Buccaneers .387

That’s remarkable – the Bucs aren’t even close to being in 31st place. They are so bad in fact they would have to go 11-5 for the next 7 years to even move up one spot (that’s a real number assuming I did the math right, that would put them at .430).

  55. JonBuc Says:

One has to wonder if the Bros. Glazer haven’t taken away the corporate cresit card away from Licht’s Out. The Saggy & Doug Martin contracts last year showed he’s financially illiterate.

  56. Not there yet Says:

Too old to be asking fora big payday bro yea your done as in go ahead and retire. You can’t cover Julio Jones anymore you proved that but you’re still a stud however we’re about making the playoffs and your about your money. We can pay a guy younger to do the same thing and You know having you on the roster won’t make or break our season no matter what the Joe’s say. Get over it People a one year stop gap is not worth it when you can get the top free agent corner forwhat he probably wants

  57. webster Says:

    @ rod

Thanks for the post. Your list shows its not easy to win in the nfl. There are teams on that list that fans of this team have been wishing we were them. Thats were tmax come in and laugh at all you guys crying and wanting mediocrity. The bucs are a product of the messed up expansion rules which resulted in 0-26 and the horrible culverhouse regime. Look at the rules for expansion when the jags or texans came into the league. Totally different from 1976. When i was saying 26 teams has not made a move, the truth is 28 teams (thx rod) have not made a move yet buc fans are panicing and pissed about the lack of urgency lol. Unbelievable.

  58. donuts Says:

Glazers spent 321 MILLION US dollars on player salaries to Manchester United players in 2017 alone. Follow the money to find the truth about our Bucs.

  59. gambelero Says:

I just think it’s neat that Miko gave Joe (and us by extension) the heads up. Just plain cool.

On the other hand, our lackadaisical approach to seemingly everything is off-putting. When we heard that the whole coaching staff, including the guys coaching a defense ranked dead last in so many critical categories, would return, I talked about upgrading other infrastructure, scouting, medical, dietary, analytics, anything. Running a football franchise has many elements that impact the product on the field that casual fans don’t know about. With our inattentive, miserly, 바보같은 owners, is it any wonder that your GM channels them?

  60. LakeLand Says:

No salary cap in the EPL

  61. Tony from Los Angeles Says:

Did the Bucs get confused and think they’re the Rays?

Dumping high priced veterans to slash payroll without making ANY additions?

    Oh boy.

  62. Kansas95Buc Says:

    @donuts

man if that’s true tmax is way beyond correct, we need new owners like 10 years ago smfh

  63. Rod Munch Says:

In addition to the Bucs being #32nd in all time winning percentage in the NFL, the Rays are #29th (of 30) in the MLB and even the Lightning are just #27th (of 31).

Look at the following the Lightning as formed by just being competitive for a few years in a row, and look at the following the Bucs got in the SB years. This is a very beaten down sports market that gets excited and buys tickets when teams aren’t losers, well except for the Rays because they’re in an awful stadium and the game is incredibly boring to watch. Fun fact, the Tampa Bay Storm used to draw over 20,000 a game in the Trop, or about 5000 more per game than the Rays did last year in the same stadium.

  64. BigPoppaBuc Says:

Grimes to new England just makes sense. That’s what I forsee.

  65. Gary Says:

Trade Evans for a top 10 pick!

  66. tmaxcon Says:

Nobody attempts to justify failure like a bucfan thanks for the laughs….

    Munch

    Becareful posting facts

  67. Kansas95Buc Says:

why not just pay the penalty for going over on the salary cap in the NFL? it apparent their money is long and can buy talent. it just seem like the boys are more interested in Man U than the Bucs. I bet Malcom is turning in his grave big time

  68. LakeLand Says:

The Bucs actually started off better than any expansion team in NFL history. Until Hugh Culverhouse and Phil Krueger decided to get cute and play hardball with Doug Williams. They advanced to the NFC Conference finals in their 4th year of existence. No team had ever done that in the NFL. They also had made the playoffs 3 times during their first 7 years of existence. Again no NFL expansion team had ever done that. The Bucs got what they deserved after Doug Williams left. 14 straight losing seasons, and they have been doomed since…except for a few years.

  69. LakeLand Says:

A salary cap is essentially an agreement between the league and players that places a limit on the amount of money a team can spend on salaries for players. The NFL uses a hard cap, meaning that no team is allowed to exceed the cap limit for any reason.

The NBA has the luxury tax….the NFL don’t

  70. Bobby M. Says:

So let me get this straight….we now need two starters at CB, possibly one Safety, at least 2 Defensive Linemen, at least 1 (possibly 2) offensive linemen, at least 2 quality RBs, a back up QB and possibly a new kicker.

AND….we expect all these new starters to instantly gel and grasp all the intricacies of the playbook in one training camp.

AND….we cant have any injuries or else we’re right back to the talent level we currently have.

AND….we expect Licht to fill all these holes in one offseason even though he hasn’t come close in his first 4.

AND…our starting QB might be suspended for the start of the season.

That’s pretty optimistic….some would say delusional. I’ll just throw this out there….If the Bucs aren’t big players in free agency, that’s a clear sign that the Glaziers are simply riding out the contracts of this staff and will be looking to move on if we under perform/miss the playoffs again. They’ll give the next coach in open check book to hit the ground running but this GM may have got all he’s going to get. Licht will get enough to meet the cap minimum…I would pay close attention to how we spend and what we are passing up.

  71. cmurda Says:

There has been no suggestion that the Buccaneers organization views Grimes as importantly as the fan base does. It makes sense though. The fans wanted Michael Bennett re-signed, they wanted Legarrette Blount re-signed, they wanted Talib re-signed. Clearly the organization is wiser than the fans.

  72. tmaxcon Says:

There is no suggestion any sane person views the buccaneers as a competent organization

  73. webster Says:

    @ kansas

No disrespect but your last comment is why tampa fans are laughed at and why i laugh as well. You believe there is a luxury tax in the nfl. FALSE!!! If there was a luxury tax, then the cowboys would have every high priced free agent because that team is worth more than every proffesional franchise in the world. It does not work that way in the nfl. Educate yourself. If you do, then you would not make comments like that.

  74. Kansas95Buc Says:

    thanks for the insight LakeLand

  75. Kansas95Buc Says:

    @Webster
I apologize for being human and not knowing everything like you do

  76. LakeLand Says:

I meant there is no luxury tax in the NFL

  77. The Anomaly Says:

No reason not to bring him back on a one year deal. He’s better than anyone on the roster and would be a good role model for the younger guys.

  78. LakeLand Says:

    webster

The NBA has the luxury tax….the NFL don’t

Can you read if not, there’s always night school

  79. LakeLand Says:

    webster

Now I feel bad, I thought your comment was directed at me…my apology

  80. cmurda Says:

MLB has a straight luxury tax – No Cap. It is the only major sport that does not have a cap of any sort. The luxury tax balances the high income teams from destroying the competition by buying all the most talented players. I humbly believe it works at least as well, if not better, than the hard caps. Teams do not want to pay a luxury tax when there is no guarantee they will win World Series. Like Lakeland said, the NBA has a soft cap but is leveled out by the luxury tax. Every other major sport has a hard cap and of course, no luxury tax.

  81. webster Says:

    @ lakeland

The bucs did not start off better than any team in history. They were 0-26. Yes, they got to the nfc championship in 4 years but remember the jags got to the afc championship in the 2nd year. The rules were different in 1997. Just like the rules are different for the vegas team than it was for the lightning when they started. The bucs had only beer truck drivers, bar tenders and bouncers in 1976…hence the 0-26 record ie the first team to go winless. You are right in one regard…culverhouse went cheap after 84 and the bucs was all down hill from there.

  82. LakeLand Says:

    webster

    This is what I’m saying:

The Buccaneers are the first post-merger expansion team to win a division title, win a playoff game, and to host and play in a conference championship game; all three accomplishments occurred during the 1979 season.

  83. webster Says:

    @ lakeland

All good. But i did repond to you though lol

    @ kansas

I dont know everything, but my opinions are based on facts. All i want to do is make sure when we posters come to a site like the great jbf, we are atleast knowledgeable about what we speak. That just make us all better as a fan base and that keeps other fan bases from thinking we are idiots. All good my brotha

  84. tmaxcon Says:

    Webster

The facts are the bucs are the most embarassing organization in pro sports sndcworrying about the caps on a team with very little talent is laughable

FEAR LOSING NOT THE SALARY CAP

  85. Destinjohnny Says:

Glazers need to sell the team

  86. webster Says:

We have had our debates in the past. Im of the elk that coaching or even the gm is not the problem. I believe we have players that are not mentally tough enough to do what they need to do to win. No gm hits on every pick or free agent signing. When do we hold these players accountable? What say you?

  87. LakeLand Says:

The 1979 Bucs has excellent coaching.

    Abe Gibron- DL coach
    Wayne Fontes- Secondary coach
    Tom Bass LB/DC
    Bill Nelson QB coach
    George Chaump- RB coach
    Bill Johnson- OL coach
    Phil Krueger- Special Team coach
    John McKay- Head Coach

They had 8 total coaches and minimum talent on the roster
And won the NFC Central Division

  88. tmaxcon Says:

    webster

I agree with that 100%…. The losing culture is real and the soft approach the team takes will never result in success.

I am pretty sure holding someone accountable now is a felony.

  89. LakeLand Says:

    ****had excellent coaching****

  90. webster Says:

    Tmax

Salary cap is important. You never hear the patriots crying about cap space. Licht learned that from his time over there. You do not overpay for $hit. You also cut ties with players who suck. The pats do not hang on to mistakes and licht does not either ie collins, verner, both johnsons, jenkins, roberto, bell, carter etc. Remember, the rock star in 5 years only picked 2 players worth resigning…david and your favorite, mccoy. Licht in 4 years have about 11. The glazers want to win and thats why you saw the multiple coaching changes. You sw the upgrades to the stadium. You saw the practice facility built and the in door facility built. I know you saw them spend on vincent jackson, carl nicks, deshaun goldston, revis, djax, ghost johsonson collins etc. The glazers want to win. When do we hold the players accountable?

  91. Debilah Says:

TrumpsStylist, Brent is not 36, nott 35 yet🤬

  92. tmaxcon Says:

    Webster

If they truly wanted to win they would have brought in a real football guy after the raheem mess. Instead they keep making same mistakes year in and year out. They clearly don’t get it. You can’t be this bad for this long yet claim you are trying.

  93. Kansas95Buc Says:

    @Webster
its all good man, I think everybody is just irritated with our squad when we can see clear as day what majority of the team issues are and the owners cant

  94. tmaxcon Says:

    Webster

Cap is important that being said this team has very few people as good as you guys think. Evans and Winston will get paid. Kwon is good not great.Hump is a 4 or 5 specials teams guy. Quality organizations ca n handle far more pressing ca p issues. Steelers have been in cap hell for 20 years yet managed 2 duper bowls

  95. Miko Grimes Says:

LMAO!!! Im sooo high right now reading these comments and some of u guys are hilarious!

  96. webster Says:

    @ kansas

Lovie made majority of the fan base believe we could win instantly. The reality, we were in rebuild mode but the fans did not want to accept that. I believe we really are not that far away. This offseason has to be all defensive

  97. LakeLand Says:

    Miko, yeah they are hilarious!

  98. Kansas95Buc Says:

    @Webster
Seem like we been rebuilding since 2011, in the words of Ed Lover “C’mon Son!!!”

  99. webster Says:

    @ tmax

Hump is a great #4 reciever. Brate should be on this team next year with howard. Thats why i said it should be all defense this offseason. Remember, part of the gruden and raheem years was all about manU. When shiano got here, the glazers opened up their wallets once again and that is why lovie got 5 mil per. I honestly believe licht is a great evaluator of draft talent and i am happy the glazers are not like jerry jones, the old al davis etc. They want to win. My question is do the players?

  100. LakeLand Says:

    Kansas95Buc,

But they didn’t have to rebuild after 2011.
They won 10 games in 2010 with 10 rookies starting

They were also the first team since the merger to complete a winning season when starting 10 or more rookies, which happened in the 2010 season.

And then the bottom fell out
And the players were traded or released
So they won with other teams

    Buc life suck

  101. Hodad Says:

The fact we want a 35 yr old corner who won’t tackle in run support anymore just shows what a bad job licht has done the last four years. We are doomed.

  102. webster Says:

    @ kansas

Correct but i bet you are the same guy who love what the rams or the jags are doing. Both teams had at least 5 years under the same regime which means the teams were being built under one philosophy. After about 5 years of collecting talent, the owners made a change because they felt they should have been winning more. The reality with these bucs, you are only going into your 3rd year. A new regime right now would come in and change many of the pieces you have in place. Coughlin was smart, he saw 5 years of building under one regime and saw talent. Same thing with the rams. Those teams just under performed. I dont know if the bucs are truly underperforming. I think we need to collect more talent first.

All the fake news salary cap garbage started in 2004 when Gruden falsely claimed that he HAD to get rid Sapp and Lynch because of the cap. If you go back and look at it, and I’ve done the numbers, no, the Bucs did not have to get rid of Sapp and Lynch, Gruden simply wanted to do. The Bucs signed something like 21 FAs that offseason while only resigning 3 of their own – they spent huge money on Joey Galloway, Charlie Garner, Ellis Wyms, Ian Gold and every washed up injured offensive lineman Gruden could fine. To cover for those terrible signings, and Gruden getting McKay fired, the Gruden fake news narrative of the salary cap being an issue was born.

You are wrong and you just want to believe what you want to believe. So be it. The glazers brought manU in 2004 and they spent the least of any team from 2004 to 2012. They gave bruce allen the directive to reign in the salary as the bucs salary cap was a mess in 2004. But you can go ahead and blame gruden. But as i have said many times…educate yourself.

webster – I already did the math and the facts are the facts, and the fact is you’re a gullible dope who actually thinks Gruden tells you the truth. The numbers and free agent signings show the fake news narrative you believe is BS. Don’t get upset with because you have the intelligence of a chicken soft taco.

DO NOT OVERPAY VETERAN PLAYERS!!!!! I like him, he is good, but I wouldn´t pay a lot for a 36 old guy…no way!!!!!thos are the mistakes desperate teams make in order to make somthing happen……..Hard work, no egos, and dicipline…If not take a look at the Boston area…….

Glazers spent 321 MILLION US dollars on player salaries to Manchester United players in 2017 alone. Follow the money to find the truth about our Bucs.

I’ve been banging that drum for awhile now. Wish they would sell this team to an owner who wanted to win. And for Tmaxcon’s sake change the culture of losing.

  114. Nick2 Says:

Well at least Miko can be straight and tell the fans how Licht and the Glazers are once again looking for bargains in FA. When will Jason Licht learn. His damn job is on the line and he is looking for cheap FA’s??????? Wow well you can kiss Trumaine Johnson coming here goodbye. Maybe Jason is sold on Minkah Fitzpattrick who knows. Even still we need two corners not one. Every year at this time all of the good FA’s are gobbled up and we are left with table scraps. Its bad enough we drafted Hargreaves and wouldn’t let him play press coverage which is what he does best. Now we are going to band aid a secondary that has been one of the worst if you take away Grimes with no other help we are going to be very very bad.
