Loutulelei Off The Board

March 13th, 2018

Moving on but not to Tampa

One of the two beasts up the gut of the Panthers’ nasty defense will now go play for his old coach.

Coming of their first playoff game in forever, the Buffalo Bills will sign defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, claims ESPN insider Adam Schefter. So scratch the 2013 first-round pick off the list of guys who might replace last year’s free agent Bucs bust, Chris Baker.

Lotulelei will reunite with Bills head coach Sean McDermott, his former defensive coordinator with the Panthers.

Yes, the Bucs want to replace Baker and likely Clinton McDonald.

Dontari Poe is out there. So are Ndamukong Suh, Sheldon Richardson and Muhammad Wilkerson. And there’s Eagles backup Beau Allen and his two career sacks. Reports say he has the eye of Bucs GM Jason Licht.

Not entirely surprised with no Bucs pursuit here. All reports are mostly run-stuffer…woo! And yes, you neurotic Buc fans on here, I realize that’s part of some scheme’s, yada-yada. All of what Bucs have been doing up front hasn’t been working. Gotta change the ideals.

    Go Bucs!

  2. Pawel Says:

I see Panthers and Falcons a weaker team. We have a hope for next season.

  3. Evolvingbucfan Says:

Pawel , right now so are we. Hope licht has some big plans for our defense, It’s waiting game right now.

  4. Bradinator Says:

looks like the Bills are movin Heaven and Earth to get to the next level. So far we seem to not be doing a lot. Of course, when you stink, it’s much harder to draw in guys that want to play here. I’d settle for at least a “solid” signing on the D, let alone a really good or great signing. I’d take Poe, make a run at Suh (yes he’s a jerk, but him and McCoy in the middle is hard to pass on), Pass on Wilkerson, and “super” pass on Richardson. I get that the DE FA situation is just plain bad, but we do have some other concerns. I’d like to see a bit of that addressed please.

  5. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

LOL….Fowlclowns and the Aints were supposedly a weaker team this time last year too. How did that all work out for them AND us?

  6. 813bucboi Says:

as much as I wanted him I knew it would be a slim chance……he has a comfort level, he knows the system and stability……he knows the coach will be there for a while…..easy decision for him….

licht needs to sign Sheldon richarson and big mo NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!!

  7. 813bucboi Says:

    bradinator

if we keep passing on good players this season will pass us by!!!!!!!…..so what if poe and suh sign somewhere else?…..you want beau allen Adrian clayborn over big mo and Sheldon?…..c’mon man…..beggars cant be choosers…..

licht doesn’t have the luxury to be picky….he needs to get whoever he can in here to produce wins and save their jobs…..

and yall trippin if you think the saints and falcons have gotten weaker….lol….they’re letting players walk because they have their replacements in house already!!!!!……they’ve been developing their replacement for a year or 2…..their defense wont miss a beat….

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  8. Pa Privateer Says:

    POE, RICHARDSON, SUH, and WILKERSON

    sign 2 of them.

  9. Dan Says:

Our season is already over folks. Anyone who thinks we do better than 6 wins is just daydreaming

  10. GhostofSchiano Says:

    @813bucboi,

Agreed, the Panthers, Saints and Falcons are reloading.

    Get busy Licht.

  11. Lord Cornelius Says:

Takes 2 to tango. I doubt he ever wanted to be a Buc after us being rivals this long. Never really thought this was that realistic vs possibly Sheldon Richardson by comparison

  12. sunshine Says:

How do u spend $2500 by the 15th on season tkts when the bucs have NOT shown the desire to improve the team????

  13. The Buc Realist Says:

Great trade by talk show host dominik to trade that 1st that netted these DT for one year of injured revis!!!!

So many like joe and the sheep loved it because it made headlines!!!! no wonder hard knocks was such a hit around here!!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Pawel Says:

    EvolvingBucFan,

I see our offense still better than Panthers and maybe even with Falcons. The defense is still a roll of a dice because we can still maybe find some gems in the draft or free agency, but the main thing ks we have an offense besides a RB now. Still a good hope.

  15. 813bucboi Says:

    PAWEL

I disagree…..our offense cant score over 21 points with all of our weapons…..

panthers may not have an explosive air attack but thats not their identity…..they hang their hat on their smash mouth multi dimensional run game…..their run game is consistent which makes their offense consistent…..

falcons were in transition this past year with a new OC…..they’ll be more consistent and explosive this year…..they made the playoffs with a first year OC and DC…..plus they have a nasty rushing attack as well…..they have an identity

saints found an identity and ran with it…..I think they’ll run the ball even more which will make their play action and screens work more effectively…..they have an identity…..

the bucs an no offensive identity or defensive identity……hopeful licht can change that but I doubt it…..he’s had 4 years to do so……

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  16. JabooBuc Says:

BucRealist is on point. One of the worst moves this organization has ever made and that’s saying something. If you thought Revis was the answer for this team at that time you were completely delusional. Headlines above wins.

  17. Buc4life Says:

    Agreed Sunshine.

The Bucs expect us to spend our hard working thousands on this team that won’t spend to improve. Not looking likely.

  18. RickinFtMyers Says:

I know neither Jason Licht nor Dirk Koetter are under any obligation to share either their free agency or their draft strategies with the fans nor is it a good idea for them to do so publicly. Still, it would be nice to see some kind of movement or some hint of what they’re up to. One idea that hasn’t been floated, to the best of my knowledge, is perhaps the Glazers gave them the go ahead to keep building primarily through the draft along with guaranteeing their jobs for x number of years as long as they keep showing improvement.

  19. The Buc Realist Says:

    @RickinFtMyers

I have heard those whispers!!! Word on the street is that now Coach Gruden is off the board that the Glazers really like this regime and will give a two year pass to fix the roster and are very happy with the development of players!!!

    Go Buds!!!!!!!!!

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    @REALIST & @RICKINFTMYERS

    that’s BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…..lol……

if the glazers guaranteed their jobs for an “x” amount of years they would’ve came out and said it…..one reason why we cant get FA’s is because players know this staff is on the hot seat and will be unlikely to return if we don’t make the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!

glazers have given out all their passes!!!!!!!!!

word on the street is that they are looking to get a younger and more innovative coach in here next year!!!!!!!(MARQUAND MANUEL)…..that’s why they aren’t letting licht spend crazy and that’s why they have put a cap on everything!!!!!!…..word on the street is that the glazers only allowed licht to resign our own players so the next regime can have depth to work with!!!!!!!!!

    makes sense to me!!!!!!!!

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!!

  21. JimmyJack Says:

I was one of the lone fans not jumping ship because we didn’t trade for Quinn but if we don’t come out of FA with a DT I will really be scratching my head.

  22. pick6 Says:

we certainly need an injection of talent, but how has winning the offseason turned out for us the last 5 or 6 years? let’s not get too jealous of the teams collecting big names, we were that team a year ago. and 3 years ago. and 2 years before that

  23. Pryda ...sec147 Says:

No matter what we do I’ll say this we live and die by Jameis if he plays lights out Sky’s the limit! Defense just needs to be average …
