Improvement easy

One of the best film-guru looks at the Buccaneers defensive line was churned out last week.

It’s painful and not recommended on a full stomach, but it is well worth the five minutes.

The kudos go to NFL Network and the former offensive lineman with the renowned mangled hand, Brian Baldinger. “Baldy” broke it down (link here) and illustrates the contrast, via film, between what was lacking in the 2017 Bucs edge rush and what stud newcomer DE Jason Pierre-Paul brings to the table.

Ryan Russell, who started seven games for Tampa Bay at defensive end last year, drew lots of Baldinger’s disbelief and ire when it came to pass rushing. Without naming Russell (Joe assumes Baldinger didn’t know his name), Baldinger revealed Russell’s struggles blocking tight ends and getting turned around.

Again, watch the video. There’s more.

Joe has emphasized many times that Tampa Bay’s league-worst pass rush improving to the neighborhood of average this season would drive dramatic improvement across the entire team. Yeah, it was that bad in 2017, hence the complete overhaul.

Going from the 32nd-best pass rush to 20th, for example, is not the goal. But that should be good enough to add significantly to the win column.

Idk Joe all I could see was gmc getting doubled EVERY play, NOT!!!

Two things I didn’t hear jpp say during his pc “excited” and “gmc”. It sounded more like he almost fainted (I had to sit down) then he went to the car to cry for a minute, can’t say I blame him.

One thing I didn’t hear Curry say “gmc”.

    One thing everyone said “changes”.

Leads me to believe that gmc is outta here on draft night. If that’s the case then we should all be excited.

JPP/Curry/Spence/Gholston/Unrein/Clarke is a solid DE corps and Licht may not draft another DE … however if Bradley Chubb is available at #7 or Arden Key is available in the 2nd round, or a guy like Josh Sweat is available in the 4th or Chad Thomas in the 5th, Licht may jump at the opportunity to draft one of those guys.

However … Licht may also focus on other “needs” and just use one of our two 6th rounders to draft a developmental DE.

If we get Saquon at #7, I could see us going RB in the 2nd round, CB in the 4th, SS in the 5th and OG in the 6th, with a developmental DE also in the 6th and a RS/CB like DJ Reed, or just BPA in the 7th.

Might want to watch his presser again. Or his spot Friday on NFL Network.

  4. 813bucboi Says:

I think licht did a great job of getting talent and depth along the dline…….and more talent and depth will be added during the draft……

pressures on dirk and smitty now!!!!…..they’ve had time…..they’ve made mistakes and now its time to see if they’ve grown from them or if they’ll sit back and make a boat load of excuses……

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!!

  5. Easy Says:

    It cant get any worse!!

  6. unbelievable Says:

Scariest thing I saw in that video (besides our non existent pass rush) was Justin Evans alone by himself trying to cover guys…

I really hate the way we roll the safety coverage in M Smith’s scheme.

  7. unbelievable Says:

DB55 you might wanna watch again, cuz he def said both those things.

  8. The Buc Realist Says:

    @unbelievable

You are wrong!!!! It was GMC @ 3:04 in the video getting singled blocked and manhandled!!!!!!!!! I thought we were told he is always double teamed!!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!

  9. NFLNut Says:

If we do trade GMC, we better get a mid 2nd rounder at the very least. I doubt we can get a late 1st, or a 2nd and 4th, but if we could, that would be outstanding. I guess it wouldn’t shock me to see a team that misses out on Suh, such as the Titans, offer their 1st rounder for GMC and maybe our 4th rounder.

I think GMC is a great player, but he’s expensive and aging and may not be in the team’s long-term plans anyways, so if we could get a 2nd and 4th and draft, say Maurice Hurst and RJ McIntosh to replace him, that might be a great trade for the team going forward.

However, if we hold onto GMC, I also think he’ll have a great 2018 if he stays healthy, as with JPP and Curry, and (hopefully) a healthy Noah Spence, defenses will have their hands full with the entire D-Line.

  10. 813bucboi Says:

    @DB55

I think once he hear the news he was traded he probably did almost faint which was followed by him crying….lol…….but knowing JPP, he most likely sucked it up, got pissed off and motivated…..I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a 2011(16.5sacks) version of JPP…..LOL….

I doubt/hope we don’t trade GMC this year…..lets see what he can do with jpp and curry or at least try and build his value back up…..if GMC gets 10sack and we make the playoffs, his value would be thru the roof……

    #NOEXCUSESIN2018!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!!

  11. Half_sac Says:

I really don’t get that hate for Gerald. You watch one second of tape and he’s one on one and that somehow proves he’s bad? Also why do you wanna trade him???? We’ll be in the same situation on the d-line we where before we got JPP you realize, one proven pass rusher, so why would we purposely put ourselves in the situation and JPP said he can’t wait to play with Gerald . He will finally have a push rush helper for the first time in years. Anyways it proves a lot of you just don’t know football lol

  12. Bucsfanman Says:

Yep, cuz GMC is the ONLY one ever getting beat on this defense!
I can’t figure out how supposed long-term “fans” (5 years or more) can sit there and criticize the one guy on defense who has been nothing but consistent and with NO help. How can you not see that?!
But yea, lets trade GMC! That’s the answer to ALL our problems.
JPP was rumored to have been surprised about being traded. This is not an uncommon reaction. The Giants are in full rebuild mode. There’s even rumors of OBJ being shopped.
I’m cautiously optimistic, but, on paper this is heading in the right direction it seems.

  13. unbelievable Says:

    @Realist,

I think you need to re-read my post.

We can call it a #RealistReread

    😉

  14. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

At 1.40 of this video, us vs the Saints, GMC is clearly doubled, like he is nearly all of the time.
Other teams double, and sometimes triple team him, because they can.
Let’s HOPE teams try that chit this year, because we have several new ways to make them pay for it, besides JPP.
Curry may be the sleeper pick this year. True, he only had 3 sacks last year, but he had 18 QB hurries!
    And, don’t forget Noah Spence!

Our new D Line coach will turn the Dogs loose, instead of those stupid and ineffective stunts our last D Line coach liked so much.

  15. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Can we find any NFL analyst that suggests we trade GMC?…..Maybe they are there but I haven’t heard them….they suggest everything else for us.

How about lets give this new line a chance to play? Are GMC haters fearful it will actually perform?…..I am starting to believe many are rooting for the Bucs to fail simply to validate their predictions.

I am willing to wait and see……If anyone has power to do more than that….have at it!!!

  17. The Buc Realist Says:

    @unbelievable

I was just using you to crowbar in where everyone can watch old gmc get manhandled @ the 3:04 mark on the video!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Bradentonbuc Says:

Yo DB55 that’s what your foot taste like. But what do you know right.
I am happy for the JPP move but I fear we are not getting the JPP we all expect. If he matches his sack total then i think we can consider it a win

  19. Pistol Pete Says:

I wish I could get excited by the defense this offseason.
While the additions are just ok…we still have Mike Smith as a DC, so any good feelings quickly vaporize.

  21. unbelievable Says:

    @realist,

I watched the video and saw that as well. Still not sure what it had to with my comment, or me. He is double teamed on many plays, but not all.

    Again, I think you need a #RealistReread

And please feel free to use as many exclamation points as needed when reading!!!!!!!!!

  22. Alan Says:

We’re not tracking GMC enough already

  23. DB55 Says:

I stand corrected on the PC he did in fact say both excited and gmc however in the nfln spot notice how he pivoted when asked about gmc. “Tbh right now we don’t really know but I know for sure the guys we have on the line and the changes they make it’s a beast.”

I’m just thinking out loud here. “Changes” seems to be the keyword of the offseason.

  24. NFLNut Says:

^ I would be very surprised if GMC was traded, but stranger things have happened … heck, OBJ could be traded, as could Lev Bell … I actually wish the NFL had as many trades as the NBA.

  25. Guzziep Says:

NFLNUT…..are you serious a 29 year old $13 million DT isn’t worth a 2nd rounder, DE like Quinn only fetched a 4th, JPP was a 3rd, get real bro, he’s maybe worth a 3rd too, doubtful, he’s better off staying here at least a year or 2

Browns trade #4 to the Bills for #12, #22, #53 and #96 (less than a 40% premium on the #4 picks value, which is fair)

Browns then trade the #22 and #53 (worth the #13 overall pick in value) to the Steelers for Lev Bell and sign him to the long-term extension he wants, namely 4-5 years at $14.5mil per.

Browns then trade the #12 and #56 (worth between the #6 and #7 overall pick to the Giants for Odell Beckham, reuniting him with his BFF and college teammate Jarvis Landy, and immediately sign him to a long-term extension making him the higest paid receiver in history.

If the NFL was the NBA, the above would get done … the Browns could literally not just go from worst to first but from worst to the AFC Title game in one offseason.

I really wish NFL GM’s were more creative – think Darryl Morey or Danny Ainge in the NBA – as it would make the offseason and trade deadlines so much more fun for the fans.

Everyone has heard the old cliche…snatch defeat from the jaws of victory…the kind of play on words Sam Wyche used to love.

This fan base is able to snatch doom and gloom from promise and success.

We’ve just seriously upgraded our DLine. Am I the only one here tired of watching our D get gashed by running backs? We just signed the two best run stoppers in the league…we added another guy who is a good run stopper and a decent pass rusher…then you add JPP…GMC…and Spence and we’re talking a good Dline.

QB’s are the rage in the draft. One more is all we need!!! If four QB’s…a real possibility go in the first six picks…one of our big three will still be on the board and maybe even more. What a choice if say Barkley and Chubb were still available. Then Jason’s job gets tricky.

  34. GhostofSchiano Says:

“Baldinger revealed Russell’s struggles blocking tight ends and getting turned around.”

QUESTION: Why didn’t Smitty or Hayes fix this issue so it would be corrected and not repeated?

Any COMPENTENT coach would have addressed that. To borrow A taxmaconism, Smitty is a Cancer, soft mentality, press box squatting, loser mentality.

  35. Lord Cornelius Says:

    @NFL Nut

I think those players could possibly be had for less even – given the fact that they are due huge paydays that their teams are reluctant to give them.

$35-40 mill on the books for those 2 – which the Browns could do. Would be super intriguing for sure lol.

    QB-Taylor/Darnold
    RB-Bell/Hyde
    WR1-Odell
    WR2-Josh Gordon
    WR3-Jarvis Landry
    TE-Njokue

    My god lol

  36. AlteredEgo Says:

I think players will be part of draft day position trades….just a hunch …

  37. NFLNut Says:

    LORD CORNELIUS,

I agree … and that offense would be one of the best in the history of football “on paper” if Darnold is legit … even with Tyrod it would scare the pants off D-Coordinators.

  38. Red86 Says:

    DB 55

Lol. Telling too much truth about GMC.

We’ve been saying for years. Yes GMac get doubled, but on plays when he’s single blocked, he disappears as well. Yawn… nothing new.

  39. tmaxcon Says:

both cancer93 and the nuthuggers led by Joe have no excuses. produce or go back to your doll house.

  40. tmaxcon Says:

keeping a bad character career loser who is not a driven winner makes no sense unless you are trying to keep the basement streak alive… the only smart thing to do which every sane rational bucs fan will agree with is rid the locker room of the cancer by trade or addition by subtraction.

  41. tmaxcon Says:

cancer93 Must Go or the Team will Not Succeed

  42. Tony from Los Angeles Says:

The GMC debate might be the ultimate litmus test in dividing between knowledgeable Buc fans and… “other”.

But the D-line work isn’t done. Bring in another young DE in the first two rounds and really build depth and a deep rotation.

    Solid work thus far, Licht…

KEEP FIXING THE TRENCHES AND YOU’LL FIX THE BUCS!!

  43. AlteredEgo Says:

Not everyone knows this about tmax….but he is kind of a movie star….remember the Russian roulette scene in the movie ” Deerhunter” ? tmax was the VC officer forcing the game shouting mau !…mau !

  44. Buddy Says:

So #CampJameis is happening in College Station this week in Jimbos watchful eye. Maybe he can getJameis back on track since #KluelessKoeter has been fake coach for him.

  45. Dave Says:

    DB55

Then you weren’t paying attention. JPP did talk about GMC, and he wasn’t the only one. All over the NFL net and espn they were hyping up how good GMC will be with a real edge rusher.
    Since 2012- GMC amongst DTs
    Sacks – 2nd
    Tackles for loss – 4th
    QB hits – 4th

    Stop being ignorant

  46. AlteredEgo Says:

As long as Jameis can throw to Kevin Benjamin against college DB’s that will never play on Sunday he’ll look sharp…

  47. tmaxcon Says:

    Dave

so if we give you those meaningless stats will you accept the following facts also associate with captain blowout

Most Blowouts Led by a Bucs Captain
Most Flat Performances by The Highest Paid Player On Bucs Roster
    No Signature Games
    No Meaningful Wins
    Quit On Coaches
    Soft Approach to game
    No Desire to Be Great
Most Excuses Ever By a Bucs Player
Most Sideline Look At Me Selfish Crying Fests by a Buc Captain

  48. tmaxcon Says:

cancer93 is a fraud… his meaningless stats do not translate to wins nor does he make players around him better. he actually sucks the life and deisre to be great from every front office, coach and player that has arrived during his failed tenure as bucs face of the basement years. results are the only thing that matter and cancer93 is a career failure

  49. Rod Munch Says:

On the first TD it’s a Chris Conte getting over late – on the second play it’s Ryan Smith giving up an easy TD. Those are two starters right now.

  50. Rod Munch Says:

The GMC haters crack me up, it’s such a moronic and useless point of view based literally on nothing other than they don’t think he’s mean enough. LOL! Nevermind everyone else in the NFL, including current players, think he’s a stud – nope, he’s awful because some guy who thinks Chris Conte is a star doesn’t like GMC because he reads comics books. What dopes.

BTW I strongly believe adults that read comic books should be broiled in an industrial microwave – but unlike the GMC haters I get that it’s an irrational hatred on my behalf. You cupcakes need to do the same and just move on already.

  51. NFLRealist Says:

Too many Gmac-haters posting comments here don’t know how the NFL works.

OC’s game plan based on opposing team personnel weakness. Gmac gets neutraiized in many plays, not by double-teams (which still happens some plays) but play direction and rotations. Without any serious threat on the edge, DTs get neutralized easily with a combination of blocking schemes and plays relying more on the tackles.

In 2018, GMac will have one of his best seasons if JPP and Curry can get play half decent on the edge, and especially if Spence gets healthy and can add to edge rotation. Opposing OCs won’t be able to take advantage anymore of our lack of edge personnel.

  52. Eric Says:

Need to put a warning label when showing video from our defense last year.

Nothing like zero pressure and not contesting the pass at all downfield or disrupting the route in any fashion.

    Just horrible.

  53. pick6 Says:

it is alarming how far below NFL starting caliber our DEs were most of last season. there were probably college teams with more talented edge rushers than what the bucs were putting out there by October. This is by far the best group around GMC in the trenches since at least his first year or two in the league

  54. pick6 Says:

    Rod Munch Says:
On the first TD it’s a Chris Conte getting over late – on the second play it’s Ryan Smith giving up an easy TD. Those are two starters right now.

    ——

not making excuses for the secondary but a QB totally unfazed by the rush (Case Keenum in Minneapolis comes to mind) will spot and exploit those mistakes every time. A QB who needs to devote some of his attention to who might take his head off on the next snap might not have the luxury of finding that breakdown before it’s time to release the ball

  55. Alan Says:

Gerald mccoy requires a double team I feel that with the edge rushers around him we should be able to get to the pocket. I think Gerald mccoy will have at least 10 sacks this year and JPP as well

  56. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo is excited at the possibility of the Bucs drafting Will Hernandez by moving down and getting extra picks in round 2……Pablo notes that Will is compared to Richie Incognito….that means that Will is a bully…..put him at left guard next to our new bully Ryan Henson……Pablo loves nasty with Pablo’s Bucs offensive line like Pablo loves nasty wit his womens.”

  57. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo loves Tmax because Tmax makes Pablo feel superior….Pablo sometimes wishes he had the GMC-Caused ED that Tmax has because Pablo wouldn’t have so many, many, many Childrens.”

  58. Reach87 Says:

Crybaby fans with moronic McCoy posts. Like babies, you think if you cry and cry with baseless nonsense someone will do what you want and release arguably our best defensive player. You make stuff up every day (he doesnt play hurt, he doesnt play hard, he’s a quitter, no one wants to play with him, they don’t mention him in press conferences, his numbers are worse than Suh’s, he has a say in who the Bucs sign…it goes on and on). Its funny. Sad. Bucs will win this year with McCoy. Babies will continue to lie and cry. Go Bucs!

  59. Kung Fu Kenny Says:

LOL at the guy thinking Licht is getting rid of gerald come draft night. Way i see the draft going is either we get barkely/chubb/nelson cause they fall, stay put and pick up minkah who seems to be a lock as a future pro bowler, or trade back with the bills and pick up derwin.

  60. Alan Says:

Reach 87 is pretty dam accurate Gerald mccoy s a hall-of-famer and he will shine this year with some help on this line

  61. AlteredEgo Says:

KFK….I did not say McCoy would be part of draft day trade…SMF’nH….HTF did you come up with that ?….I said player trades will be part of moving up and down ….a general prediction for the NFL….it used to be a common thing..and I think it will return…….as I said…a hunch !

  62. DanBucsFan Says:

    Tmaxon

You can say GMC is a career loser, as he has been part of the failure to reach post season since he has been here. But, you can’t say he is a low character guy. He is known as a high character by all players\ coaches in the NFL. Your opinion is your opinion but I disagree about your character assessment.

  71. Alan Says:

Gerald McCoy is a hall of fame one of the greatest to ever where a bucs uniform I’m going to buy you a fat head if Gerald for your house bro

  72. Alan Says:

God bless GMC 93 may he reign in tampa!

  73. DB55 Says:

You misspelled HOF it’s spelled ring of honor. His only accomplishment having a smile that doesn’t frighten white people. #FACTS

  74. BucEmUp Says:

There is not a prayer in all of hell that this team has a 20th ranked defense UNLESS Smitty changes things up. This team can do very well with it’s talent, but the coaches always seem to be what is lacking with the team

  75. Gambelero Says:

Watch the Brees touchdown again Munch, no way that was on Conte. They were in cover 2 and Conte had Thomas blanketed on his vertical route to his side and peeled off to almost make a great play on the vertical by Ginn on the other side of the field. Smith is beaten so bad, he’s not in the picture. Safety is the hardest position for casual fans to judge, because they only see them at the end of the play. And the safety does a good job on most of the 1200 or so plays, we don’t see him.

Every year we sign Conte for replacement money. Every year guys are drafted and signed to replace him, but every year he gives us 800-1000 plays and usually starts. Smith and his coaches watch all 75 or so plays each week over and over, but Conte always plays better at his position—in their view—than anybody who would potentially replace him. Anybody who is not watching the all-22 and specifically evaluating the safeties has no idea what they’re talking about.

  76. Jimmy T Says:

Buc Realist, I have no idea what video you were watching but McCoy was doubled in every frame. Who cares who the DE was with their back to the play because he will NOT make this roster this year. The BUCS MUST Draft/Develop DE’s in the draft this year because depth is crucial in the heat so Jason needs to Focus on the defense after the first draft pick.

  77. BucEmUp Says:

Every sack jpp has , he’ll ANY dline man is not when the corners are playing 12 yards deep. I watched all.of.jops highlights from last season. Corners playing at the line. It doesn’t need to be all the time, but when.yoy line up 12 yards off 90%of the time the qbs are going to have an all you can eat slant route selection with the occational.bomb when the safeties have 4 different wrs to cover going deep and the corners (except Grimes) all assume the safeties are assuming coverage responsibility. I don’t even care.keep playing what they are playing but at least be more.aggresive at the line for phucks sake

  78. Lamarcus Says:

  82. Alan Says:

OMG!!!! That is the FUNNIEST f…ing thing I have EVER heard GMC ain’t the HOF!! Dude knock it off your killing me!! Martin Grammatica will be going in with him I suppose!

  86. Alan Says:

La Marcus and D855 love them some GMC

  87. BigMacAttack Says:

DB55, I hope your right about GMC on Draft Night. That could really fill some holes and get up to pick Chubb. I wonder if Licht already had that conversation with the Giants during JPP talks. Hmmm. Gerald needs to go. Always hurt, low numbers, blown out 7 our of 10 plays. Adios fatboy

  88. Reach87 Says:

You fans talk about McCoy as if he plays for the Panthers or Saints. Same with the GM, head coach, defensive coordinator…fact is you go out of your way to hijack posts to criticize them. They need to produce…got it. On the way. They are in fact Bucs and they are not on another team. Justify it however crybabies do, but you’re words indicate you are not fans. At some point you have to ride with your team or at least not make up BS about them in the negative. Sad. Queue the “we have a right”crowd. Go Bucs!

  89. Scott Legere Says:

After reading Joe Bucs Fan for nearly a decade. And working within the Buccaneers Organization for 7 years as a radio host. I’ve come to realize two things. The first one, is that all of you use some type of internet monicure instead of your real names. #Icantbeheldaccountabeintherealworld The second one is you bit#@ like a bunch of whiny 80 year olds with dried up productive gear. Don’t get me wrong I understand the frustration of losing franchise. I love Joe’s takes and I love the content that you’ll provides. But I’m starting to think half of you and your whiny bitching moments are nothing more than a computer algorithm set on repeat. Fandom isn’t about perfection, it’s about passion. So let’s all just keep using euro fake names and typing in our computers to bit$h and bore the hell out of people like me. I don’t post here often and now I’m starting to realize why I don’t. And by the way the boards on Pewter Report aren’t any better then you’re being here. We all want a winning franchise, but a lot of you are pathetic. And no I won’t get into a pissing match with you after this post.k

  90. Tampabaybucfan Says:

This is the second worst time of the year for me as a Buc fan…..the worst is right after the decisions have been made on coaches/GM….and we are waiting for FA…..now is after the first wave of FA waiting on the draft…..

We have 10 percent of our posts on what we should do in the draft and 90 percent trashing or untrashing GMC……how exciting!!!

I think the worst time for Tmax is right before opening day….fearful that the Bucs may have a winning season.

(I know Tmax, you never fear that)

  91. Lamarcus Says:

    Alan

He used to be my favorite player. Not any more

  92. SteveK Says:

    Scott Legere,

Great post! I use my real name and have since finding this outstanding website sometime in 2010.

    Go Bucs!

We do suck out loud and need to get back to the playoffs ASAP!

A lot of great fans come here and I enjoy reading their posts. With that said, some change their monikers as they are disproven in their illogical posting.

I am in the middle on GMC. Helluva man, and talented, and he’s also the face of the losing years post Gruden. Not his fault. Just the way it is.

  93. Alan Says:

    Maxi pad?

  94. SCBucsFan Says:

It’s kind of obvious some posters here are happier when the Bucs are losing. Unfortunately business is good for them. Until we start winning they will continue to crow.

  95. Lamarcus Says:

Maybe this isn’t the place for hardcore cutthroat fans?

  96. DB55 Says:

Interesting so let me get this straight, we can critique and promptly dismiss countless players like well shot the entire dline and a respected coach in Jay Hayes not to mention countless posts ripping Ayers, Baker, Gholston, Martin, Barron, Talib, ASJ, Blount, Clayborn and a host of others but if you critique McIceCream you’re not a fan, uhm okay!

Are you sure you’re buc fans or Glazer and McIceCream fans? Without the glazers you don’t have a team to cover or work for and without McIceCream you don’t have a cheerful interview after a heart-breaking loss. Right, Ira? You said most of the guys just sneak out after a brutal loss but good ol McIceCream is always there for the media? Did I get that right?

Question is when is the last time you spent money you didn’t have to roast in the mid day fl sun to get embarrassed go home and get chastised on social media and national tv for the rest of the night? Prob never.

I think all of us just want to feel the stadium shaking again, we want to go up against the best team in football and win again. That’s what I want and I’m positive through 8 years of watching McIceCream that it will never happen as long as he’s on the roster. Don’t matter if Reggie White and Leroy Selmon (rip) lined up next to tutti frutti ice cream sprinkle pop.

That’s one heck of an algorithm, lol.

KFK….I did not say McCoy would be part of draft day trade…SMF’nH….HTF did you come up with that ?….I said player trades will be part of moving up and down ….a general prediction for the NFL….it used to be a common thing..and I think it will return…….as I said…a hunch !
    ————————————
Not you. DB55 said that in the very first comment in the thread.

  98. SCBucsFan Says:

DB55 I’m a fan not a player. I don’t get embarrassed. Disappointed yes, mad yes, embarrassed no.

  99. Lamarcus Says:

I think Peyton barber will do nicely or at least average with an elevated oline. So in the draft u gotta go Davenport at 7 (reach). I’m out of Quentin Nelson thing cuz that just absurd to take a guard there. We are not the team talent wise to make a guard move. A trade down for more picks means u have more inexperience and gamble. This regime is on it’s final. Then u take the best available player at 2nd.

  100. DB55 Says:

    Sc

The slacking we took at the hands of the falcons on TNF the 56-14 loss didn’t embarrass you? Well that speaks volumes sir.

  101. DB55 Says:

Oh yea Donald penn, like I said countless. But McIceCream though where’s that gotten you?

  102. SCBucsFan Says:

Yeah DB55 it does, it says I have a life

Embarrassed or not embarrassed that is the question? Lol

  104. lambchop Says:

    @NFLNut,

“If we get Saquon at #7, I could see us going RB in the 2nd round, CB in the 4th, SS in the 5th and OG in the 6th, with a developmental DE also in the 6th and a RS/CB like DJ Reed….”

I’d we get Saquon at 7, you really think the Bucs are going RB again in the 2nd Rd?

    You really are Nuts.

  105. NCMike Says:

    Embarrassed

  106. lambchop Says:

In what world does anyone think Donovan Smithis a good LT? He sucks! That Week 9 Saints game highlights just shows his inability to handle a bull rush or to keep the pocket from collapsing from the left side. We need an elite LT to handle the premier edge rushers of the game. Donovan Smith is a failure at the position and to not acknowledge that is a crime of stupidity and hubris. I get that it’s a highlight reel, but he has no positive highlights to his name.

  107. NFLNut Says:

    *************

GMC “might” get into the HOF … wins and losses mean next to nothing with HOF voting … Browns LT Joe Thomas will be a 1st ballot HOF’er and he NEVER played in a playoff game.

However, someone yesterday said GMC is the Dwight Howard of the NFL … and that’s actually an insult to Dwight as he is basically guaranteed to be a 1st ballot HOF’er thanks to his multiple DPOY’s and being “the man” on a team that won the East by beating a LeBron led team.

    *************

  108. Greecosuave Says:

Former Buccaneer, Ian Beckles, thinks GMC is overrated. He said he doesn’t make enough big plays and doesn’t take over the game. He has an interesting podcast (In The Trenches with Ian Beckles). I don’t have game tape but I would hope you guys watch and see for yourselves. Let’s see whar GMC can do with a pass rush before we trade him away.

If Licht decides to trade GMC, LOOK NO FURTHER THAN INDY @ #6. I’m sure they would entertain the thought. Even the Browns at 4. Just a thought.

  109. adam from ny Says:

sign suh and trade mccoy to get a third rounder back…get the 3rd rounder back for draft day…you’re not getting a 2nd rounder for mccoy unless he throws in his own personal near mint copy of batman number one with the trade…
