“Don’t Come My Way With The Ball”

March 23rd, 2018

Run defender, too.

Yeah, the Bucs traded for Jason Pierre-Paul specifically to put the friggin’ quarterback on the damned ground.

But it isn’t like JPP is an opposite one-trick pony like Will Gholston, who can defend the run but is fully allergic to quarterbacks. JPP can defend the run, too. In fact, Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht said this afternoon at JPP’s presser at One Buc Palace that JPP had the second-most snaps of any defender in the NFL last year.

Dudes who cannot defend the run don’t play that much.

So after the presser, JPP was doing standups with local TV stations and while speaking to Chris Torello of Spectrum Sports, he was asked about his run defense.

JPP stared right at Torello and said, “Don’t come my way with the ball.”

JPP then began to talk about how he believes defending the run is as important if not more so than snapping a quarterback’s ribs.

The dude has averaged 54 tkls a season. Thats with 3 seasons where he did not play the full 16. Fans who are poopoo ing this move are just crabby old idiots. A tremendous upgrade.

Finally someone with a little swagger at DE!!! Been a long time.

  3. BrianBucs Says:

As I said earlier, with these recent additions, Bucs front 7 can be scary. Didn’t think I would be saying that this year

Thank God we didn’t get Bennett, who was just indicted.

which makes even more BS that the unsubstantiated claims made by the uber skank of the month are still lingering without merit.

  7. Alan Says:

I could not be happier to get a classy guy like JPP to go along with McCoy. Adding Curry to this mix will sure be helpful with the double teams. We will see alot of tight ends in block roles trying to stop this new D line. Which means teams will have less receivers on the field and try to run more to save their QB from ending up facing down in the dirt! This move just made McCoy better and JPP better because teams will have to accept the fact that they can’t block both with one guy. Curry In the mix is the icing on the cake. Now we just need a secondary. Not feeling good about it boys

Sounds like a total set-up to me. Dude is wearing his credential around his neck. Why did they try to stop him in the first place and more importantly why did the nfl think having a paraplegic as a security guard was a good idea?

  9. DB55 Says:

    Tmax

I think you’re wrong! You said McIceCream won’t last till week 4 before he’s on IR. I say he starts crying in camp and probably won’t see the field all season. Maybe this time he’ll have a bloody nose OR better yet his allergies might stop him.

  10. tmaxcon Says:

    DB55

i hear his main problem is a chronic labia tear. those are mutha f***kers especially when you are out of shape

  11. Lamarcus Says:

All GMC wants you do is get doubled so he can have his fans make excuses for him. Now there won’t be excuses that guy literally runs into doubles

  12. Lamarcus Says:

    Alan

GMC will get better at playing pitty pat with oline friends. That’s it all

I don’t underatrand why you guys hate on this man he is one of the very few DTs I’m this league what can play the 3 technique and cover a and b gaps. The guy is a stud who has had no help on that d line since he has been here. Trust me I’m not a happy bucs fan I’m sick of losing but it’s not his fault

  15. Dirty Bucs Says:

    Alan is 100% correct.

So I am going to screenshot this and save this for when the Bucs DL ends up in the top ten of the league next yr now that cancer93 has help?!?
    Done.

  17. tmaxcon Says:

    SB

who gives a RATS ARSE if they end up in the top ten yet do not win a playoff games. Rankings are almost as meaningless as cancer93’s pro bowls. If these transactions need to translate to wins not rankings.

  18. Duke Says:

    DB55

That great idea you knock is civil rights. Lol……we all know that didn’t work.

The problem is not that she’s 108 yr old cripple, but rather who thought that her resume screamed crowd control. She was hired by some fool to work as a security person that’s either a great practical joke or it could be the human resource center is run by graduates of Helen Keller school for incompetence.

Either way, if the facts are as they say, MB’ s actions are indefensible and reprehensible. If you can’t find fault in his actions then I suppose that you would have acted in such a manner. I don’t believe that you would because you appear to lack a sense of entitlement and privilege. I don’t see you stepping on grandma to save yourself the inconvenience of going to the proper entrance.

  19. SB Says:

Yes Dirty Bucs, Alan is 100% correct. Don’t feed the trolls though Alan. They know more than every OC in the league! You can’t tell these guys anything.

  20. tmaxcon Says:

wins are the only stat that matters. 3 win improvement means nothing… if they are not in the playoffs and win a first round game the season was a failure.. one and done in the playoffs just means you did not deserve to be there in the first place.

  21. SB Says:

So going from 32nd ranked D to a top ten now that GMC finally has some help means nothing? Dude! you can’t have it both ways. We know you hate GMC for sleeping with your wife but c’mon.

  22. SB Says:

    Moderation time. I’m out

  23. Alan Says:

    Thanks fellas go bucs!

I feel like there are some posts missing from above

  26. USFBUC Says:

One thing is for sure the addition of JPP is an upgrade on paper for this Dline so there shouldn’t be any excuses.

  27. Duke Says:

    —cover A and B gaps—

    —must not watch film

Or maybe just doesn’t understand the problem with that claim.

  28. Lamarcus Says:

    Alan

They you go with that no help crap. GMC has help. He just doesn’t elevated talent. More like de evelated. I’m so sick and tired of hearing about GMC help( in Joe’s voice)

  29. SB Says:

I guess we add Lamarcus to the “Idiots” list that thinks they know more than Every OC in the League AND Every Player. Carry on Sir! I can now skip over your posts as well.

  30. DB55 Says:

Idiots = let’s draft vh3 in the first round at #11.

    Glass houses and what not.

Lol, bring back the old SB!

  31. Alan Says:

Seriously Sapp was at his best when he has simieon rice. Rice was at his best when he had Sapp. Tell me who has McCoy had that’s been a pro bowl defensive end or DT since he was drafted??? Nobody! M cCoy will be better with JPP and vice versa. You McCoy haters are unbelievable there may be 3 o 4 if that DTs in the league that can do what he can. Two of the 4 I can think of can’t seem to stay with one team because the teams don’t want them and the other two short the white stuff

  32. Alan Says:

    Damn spell check short =snort

  33. Lamarcus Says:

    SB

I can be an idoit any day than to think GMC is a top 5 dt. I’ll believe my eyes before I believe what I’m told.

GMC is overrated dumpster do do

  34. Lamarcus Says:

    Alan

What does GMC do anyway?? Please show me I don’t need co signers I watch the games and he is overrated

  35. Alan Says:

    6× Pro Bowl (2012–2017)
    3× First-team All-Pro (2012–2014)
    Second-team All-Pro (2016)
    2× First-team All-American (2008, 2009)
    2× First-team All-Big 12 (2008, 2009)
Defensive Player of the Year (2005)

  36. Alan Says:

Hmm… can’t think of anything… how many defensive tackles with no help and no edge rusher for 10 plus years can do this?

  37. Alan Says:

Gerald McCoy has broad shoulders and a thick lower half, with his weight primarily distributed through his backside and legs. The 6’4″, 300-pound defender shows elite athleticism and snap quickness. Playing like he’s shot out of a cannon at the snap, McCoy is used heavily as a run-blitzer as he has outstanding ability to penetrate gaps and blow up plays in the backfield.

The Oklahoma product shows good play strength and pad level at the point of attack, and he has solid hand usage to stack and shed. The eight-year veteran uses incredible quickness to win the edge as a pass-rusher, with a cross-chop to pin his opponent’s outside shoulder, showing good ankle bend to turn the corner in tight spaces and finish. McCoy’s got a good spin move to counter inside and can put opponents on skates when he converts speed to power. His closing speed in pursuit is good, and he’s a sure tackler. Currently ranked 3rd in the NFL behind Geno Atkins and Aaron Donald,

    —NFL1000 DT Scout, Brandon Thorn

  38. Alan Says:

    Yeah… I still can’t find anything for my case…

  39. Alan Says:

La Marcus? Is that French? If your from I forgive you bud. Not the sharpest tools in the shed or the brightest bulbs in the closet. I gotcha bro my bad

  40. Issic Haggins Says:

Alan , All very accurate but you left out the part of no secondary moves, fading after initial burst, over hyping injuries, chasing cameras, no real fight after initial get off, called out by peers at pro bowl for all of the above!!!

Please Alan name any pro bowler in the last 10 years that got called out by their peers at the Pro Bowl for all of the above.

See Alan ; Other players know when another playa ain’t cracka Lackin and the fact is GMC got loud laughed ( by the player) for his whole ultra ego that gets in the way of his exceptional talent not performing to near the level it could. The players not the fans clowned him down , so stop it already he may be the first and last to get clowned down at the pro bowl by his peers !!! First Series Heart / effort rating is an 8, 4 quarter heart rating is a 3 !!! Only Gerald can change that !!! Gerald your mouth doesn’t help !!

  41. Alan Says:

Wow Issic.. that was good stuff bro. You must be from France too

  42. Alan Says:

Please stop being a fan of this team find another one to root for because if Gerald McCoy is not good enough to start for your team than nobody will be why do you go follow new England or Philly. It’s embarrassing that I root for the same team as these two clowns from France

  43. DB55 Says:

    Alan

    Yes sir you right.

  44. DB55 Says:

his exceptional talent not performing to near the level it could.

  45. Alan Says:

DB55 I feel ashamed to be a human right now if these two fellas are my equal my brain can process how dumb this entire thread is and I can’t believe I’m still typing in this box and clicking submit I just hope that Wil be able to reach these two morons and help Improve their thinking. Guide them in the right direct I mean my man issic actually made the pro bowl game itself sound like it was competitive! Like these million dollar investments are really going to risk getting hurt when under contract with one of 32 organizations that sign game checks asking them not to try hard. They make it sound like McCoy was playing for a good medal in the Olympics or a super bowl

    JOE, WHAT’S THE DEAL?

Jameis gets “accused” of something where there is no proof, no police report, no arrest, no indictment, no nothing and only one eye witness and that eye witness corroborates Jameis’ side of events … and you have talked about it many times as if it’s some huge deal.

However, Michael Bennett is indicted, has a warrant out for his arrest, faces up to 10 years in prison and you say it’s no big deal and will go away quickly … um … WHAT????????????????????????????

I’m guessing that you simply think Bennett will pay the 67 year old woman to “make this go away”, but, THAT WON’T MATTER as this is a criminal investigation by the Police who don’t care one iota if Bennett pays the lady hush money; they don’t need her to go after him!

  48. Alan Says:

Great advice steelstud. I just with bucs fans would stop hating on him we are are better with him then without him

  49. Mike Johnson Says:

As a harsh Buc critic..(Yes I am) It feels good to see..to hear a DE of ours speak with confidence. In his press conference, Pierre said, Buc fans will not be disappointed in me. I will get to the opposing QB and make plays. I have a..high motor. WOW!!! Even Mike Johnson is impressed. The mans got Swag..No not humpin palm trees. But he actually looks and speaks his role with confidence. I do believe his play will energize the rest of our Defense just like Mr. Sapp’s play use to do. I like Pierre’s attitude already.
