“Swaggy” Issues Statement

February 20th, 2018

Grateful.

In the wake of having his access card to One Buc Palace deactivated today, former Bucs defender Chris “Swaggy” Baker is not without gratitude.

The former offsides-jumping, belly shirt-wearing, practice-hating, kicker-heckling, tree-grinding , non-contact-football-loving, chicken-wings-grilling, playing-time-squawking, TV-cooking-star, half-sack Bucs defensive tackle thanked several people for expanding his retirement portfolio giving him a chance with the Bucs last season.

Wonder if God advised Swaggy to take his theft earnings from 2017 and invest in Google stock, Amazon stock or Bitcoin?

Lol Joe!!!! Retirement portfolio…dang, ain’t that the truth!

  2. Not there yet Says:

He had to take the high road, his game tape I’m sure looks awful, gonna make it worse by taking shots at a franchise that putup with his sorry effort? If you can’t cut it in Tampa your probably done in the nfl.

  3. Fanalyzer34 Says:

Swaggy is proof positive that FA is not an exact science… When a team is looking at a player in FA they must ask themselves two questions 1) Why is the guy a FA and 2) Why didn’t his previous team fight harder to keep him?

Hopefully, Jason Licht follows suit in the future….

  4. Easy Says:

The Washington organization knew what they were doing letting him walk.

  5. Lord Cornelius Says:

  8. AlteredEgo Says:

He burned his NFL bridge with his play….his words are not going to help….

  9. Buccanoles01 Says:

I’m sure that once Buckner watched a few of his game tapes, he was like hell no I’m not even trying to deal with that dude!

  10. Bird Says:

The guys that only play hard in contract years. One of my biggest pet peeves in sports

Need to Stay away from these inconsistent half a$$ers

  11. BucEmUp Says:

I am a little disappointed. I was really looking forward to Koetter growing a pair and riding Baker into the dirt every day in training camp until he either got in shape or flat out quit.

I used to like Koetter, but this team has no balls. How about a little payback for robbing you last season.

  12. BaldBuc Says:

Chris “Saggy” Baker. … Never met a burger he didn’t like.

  13. darin Says:

Dang he had the energy to issue a statement. Rare. Adios saggy.

  14. Bird Says:

I Blame ayers a little for him. They are boys

  17. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Na Na Na Na. Na Na Na Na. Hey Hey Hey. Goodbye

  18. __TGH__ Says:

    Well… bye.

  19. Bobby M. Says:

Our GM is so good at cutting loose his bad decisions…..if only he avoided them in the first place we might not be in 4th in our division 75% of his GM career.

  20. SOEbuc Says:

Like to the Bucs for paying me so much money to be a fat, lazy, piece of sh!te that humps trees and no one liked.

  21. SB Says:

Last yr at this time I was BEGGING for Calais Campbell! I even called NosBos and was singing Campbell’s praises. Guess that mysterious 17Mil that we supposedly didn’t have laying around came back to bite us in the arse!

  22. Gman Says:

Obviously he did not thank the fans…Swaggy…the feeling is mutual you clown

  23. USFBUC Says:

Hey a quality LG just got released by the Bears, we should be taking a look at Josh Sitton. We need some combo of Sitton, Jensen, and Norwell.

  24. pewterpirate99 Says:

Hit the bricks Tankass you stealing, 320 lbs. piece of sh!t waste of space!!!

  25. SB Says:

    What USFBUC just said!^^^^

  26. Mr. Ed Says:

Swaggy — Worthless as breasts on a boar hog.

  27. SB Says:

Swaggy…..As useful as an elevator in an outhouse!

  28. Lamarcus Says:

    Funny

Why does very talented dline comes to Tampa and look like crap?? Why??

  29. Dooshlarue Says:

    @SB

Whatever happened to my buddy NOSBOS?

  30. Reach87 Says:

Bucs fans once again showing “common decency” Go Bucs!

  31. Warrenfb12 Says:

Haha. Classic joe. Expanding his retirement portfolio.

  32. SB Says:

The last time I talked to him on the phone was a few months ago and he told me he was having a problem with Joe moderating his comments all the time and some of them disappearing he stopped coming so much. Then he got a new GF so I haven’t gotten many texts lately. His last one was talking about us getting rid of JW3, ( Yes a Nole said this) and drafting Baker Mayfield believe it or not.

  33. yrbndr Says:

Again dismayed how an organiztion can not do proper due diligence with a player that was widely known to dislike practice and was horribly out of shape, obese and had attitude issues! Who in the heck is evaluating these players?

  34. BigHogHaynes Says:

I said during camp last year that Swaggy was at least 30lbs overweight….a Mike Smith kind of guy! CONTINUE TO BUILD THE WALL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BAY….NI GOID WILL CONE FROM THE BACK/STABBING….GM / COACH K BE GONE!!!

  35. Clw JB Says:

FatBaker…possibly the WORST FA signing ever by our Bucs… Burt Emmanuel, Alvin Harper, Ghost Johnson, FatBaker – theBucs FA Hall of Shame

  36. BROCKTACULAR Says:

    Haynesworth…remember?

  37. MadMax Says:

Finally! Buckner getting stuff done!! And we already knew DM22 was gone.

Now to replace them with Big Vita and a 3rd round RB (Penny). Barkley is gone, forget about that pick. D line first 2 picks please….Big V and an edge rush unless Chubb is there @7 (which I doubt).

  38. jjbucfan Says:

Who cares about this Fatty Baker at this point, the Tampa Bay purge continues… Steven Souza traded for a dude with 25 innings pitched and a 17 Earned Runs and a 5.96 ERA, LOL, they also got a 2nd baseman from the Yankees minors and 2 players to be named later. It could be worse for the Bucs… Sternburg could own them. Looking forward to TJ Ward being gone, but only because Mike Smith didn’t know how to use him. Would like for Sweezy to get a look in camp to see if he is stronger now. We rehabbed Revis a year after ACL, I don’t want to rehab this guy a year after Back Surgery and have him go off and be successful

  39. godzilla13 Says:

Chris Baker was not as bad as everyone is making him to be. Everyone is looking past the the biggest point of all. He was willing to play in Tampa.

  40. Gman Says:

Godzilla…for the amount of money he stole, he would have played in Afghanistan

  41. Lamarcus Says:

    Godzilla

Agree. Baker wasn’t a huge bust as hyped. He did pretty good a stretch and took on leadership role

Again these are not 4-3 guys.

  42. Marc Says:

One more big move should be coming soon – Trade Gerald McCoy

  43. NFLNut Says:

He thanked the owners, GM and HC but not his DC … hmmmm ….

  44. ElioT Says:

“Next up after the break, former NFL lineman Chris Baker talks about life after losing a leg to diabetes.”

  45. ElioT Says:

Smitty has some good defenses in Jax under DelRio, using some leftover talent/men from Coughiin.

His defenses in Atlanta were always weak and soft. Spare me the CEO HC excuse.

His defenses have been beyond putrid and embarrassing here.

Maybe the third year will be different?

  46. denjoe Says:

    Thanks for NGAF Swaggy!

  47. DayOnePaul Says:

    His agent wrote it.

  48. FFS Says:

#swaggytime. Lmao I will begin yelling that everytime I sit down to eat chicken wings now

  49. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I think any GM willing to hire him now, after seeing how bad a teammate he is, should be fired.

  50. Bnomo Says:

Gimme the $$$$$ then tell me goooooood bye.
Why should i bust my butt,
when you have me the big bucks.

  51. Bnomo Says:

Gimme the $$$$$ then tell me goooooood bye.
Why should i bust my butt,
when you give me the big bucks.

  52. doolnutts Says:

I love the way Jason drafts… But man his free agent moves really leave me scratching my head lololol…. Idk what else to say.

  53. Brandon Says:

The Swaggy nickname should’ve been a big enough red flag to not sign the dude… then the fact he hated to practice… Redskins couldn’t let him go fast enough…. still can’t believe we signed him…. my faith is gone in Licht’s ability to evaluate and sign FA’s to help the team. His batting average is beyond putrid.

  54. Crabberbill Says:

I agree with MadMax 100% If ChubB is gone we MUST Draft Vita Vea !! Nelson would be a great option too but Vea is a fantastic pick!! A DE in the second, best runningback in the third and DEFENSE with the rest of the draft!!! FIX the DEFENCE NOW!!!
