Solving The Identity Crisis This Season

December 6th, 2017

A real opportunity now

So what are the 2017 Bucs good at?

No, don’t be a wiseass and say “losing.”

It’s not an easy answer. That’s why Jameis Winston himself recently talked about how the team was searching for its identity. Of course, America’s Quarterback was thinking about a positive identity.

The Bucs have forced a lot of turnovers. That’s good. But is there anything else that’s been a consistent positive?

Yes. The Bucs have played pretty well at home, where the defense has been decent and the team is sporting a 3-2 record, which should be 4-1 if they had a reasonable field goal kicker.

Raheem Morris Greg Schiano and Lovie Smith never recorded in winning home record in a season. That’s right, even when the Bucs went 10-6 in 2010, they were 4-4 in Tampa.

But Dirk Koetter was 4-4 at home last year. And if the Bucs can win two of their final three home games this year, then you know what, the Bucs will have a real identity under Koetter. They’ll be a team that plays tough, solid football at home.

That would be something. A common thread among good organizations is defending the home turf and making that home game truly meaningful.

So Koetter and the Bucs, go out there and find two wins against the Lions, Falcons and Saints. Detroit isn’t a good team, and the Bucs just showed they can compete with the Falcons.

Man up at home.

The identity crisis is the Glazers. They are the only thing that is the same since 2007.

  2. Lamarcus Says:

We are good at passing. Which we are still top 5!!! So we can build on that. Start w a run game.

The bucs identity seems to be that bubble screen to humphrey instead of Djax which i have no clue why that is

  4. C eh N eh D eh Says:

Receivers are good at getting open…but the passer misses mostly…that’s about it

Offensively or personnel is a passing team, unfortunately, out game plan wants to be a power running team. See round hole square peg.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I looked at the final score this season and wandered how we managed to lose that game. Can Ya buy a half a beer at the stadium?????

@Joe … “A common thread among good organizations is defending the home turf and making that home game truly meaningful.” Now if we could just play the Bears, Giants, Jets & Dolphins at home TWICE every season.

  11. Evolvingbucfan Says:

Hogwash, the Bucs ARE good at losing, they have gone 32/76 since the 2010 10-6 season!!! so 108 game since then and we have lost 72 of them!

so i guess i’ll be the Wise Ass as say “losing”. I wish they could figure out how to win consistently.

  14. Evolvingbucfan Says:

You on a roll bruh. I like it!

  16. Greg Says:

Is “not good at winning” considered the same as “good at losing”? Just curious before I give my final answer so I’m not called out for being an “assbag”.

  17. UnderMeBucinHat Says:

I’ve noticed we seem to be a lot less of a penalty machine than under the last 2 regimes. We still have big ones at key times sure but I’m talking on average like number of penalties per game. Anyone got time to look that up?

New ways to loose and disappoint fans each week

Don’t give two sharts what our record at home is when our overall record is 4-8 and get to finish off with the Falcons, Panthers, and Saints.

The Bucs lead the league in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

If the Bucs can win two of their final three home games this year? Joe, are you eating those mushrooms, or smoking them?
