Jackson Played Like He Was Sick

December 10th, 2017
DeSean Jackson

Played (like he was) ill.

Bucs fans are sick of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, not connecting with DeSean Jackson.

Today, Jackson was just plain sick. After the game, Bucs coach Dirk Koetter mentioned how Jackson was fighting a bug of some sort and lauded the veteran receiver for gutting it out.

The way he played, maybe he should not have suited up?

Midway through the opening quarter, Jameis tried to hit Jackson deep over the middle. It was a catchable ball, if Jackson made a move on it. Instead, Jackson just ran a straight line and didn’t appear to even attempt to make a play on the pass.

Later, Jameis threw a dangerous pass to Jackson along the right sideline in the second quarter that Jackson didn’t even try to come back to the ball for and it was picked by Darius Slay to set up a Detroit score.

The way Chris Godwin was making plays and Jackson wasn’t, the Bucs should have relied on Godwin much more.

djax is sick of playing for a losing organization with NO heart

  2. AlteredEgo Says:

I did notice early after a DJax catch ,him motioning shoulder pad tap…he was asking out…he played the next snap….curious

  3. MadMax Says:

Yes more Godwin please!! Djax should be traded! ME too if we can find the right trade!

  4. ElioT Says:

    Is this article serious?

    D-Jax looked fine.

D-Jax is sick due to the 5 or 6 touchdowns he doesn’t have this year because “Americas QB” is incapable of hitting him in stride.

    Give me a freaking break.

  5. JimmyJack Says:

If he was sick he should have been pulled after that deep ball over the middle which I also thought was catchable and questioned Djaxs effort.

But this coach has done this all year and keeps half assed efforts on the field. Two stupid pentalties taken but our backup lineman show that the coaching doesn’t have these guys ready to play a winning brand of football.

Pentalties are one things but each penalty by #95&#96 were extremely dumb and something that good teams don’t do.

  6. ElioT Says:

Just look at this Eagles/Rams game.

Two teams that were in shambles two years ago.

Everyone thought Wentz and Goff were so inferior to Jameis and Mariota.

    Now what?

    Joke…

Jaboo was pro ready coming out of the draft…unfortunately, no one told the Bucs he was ready for the Arena League, not the NFL.

  8. BushidoEvans Says:

What’s with this sub group of “bucs fans” asking for a Mike Evans trade…are you stupid?

  9. T Syce Says:

Please stop calling qb America’s qb.3 to,s today. He’s trash and not very smart

  10. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Should have laid out for that extremely catchable deep ball.

Should have fought for the ball at least a little bit on the first pick.

Should have, could have, but didn’t.

  11. Pa Privateer Says:

I can’t speak for the questionable “effort” plays by Jackson today, but Winston has never seemed to be able to connect with him. It seemed like Fitz didn’t have a problem connecting with Jackson, so why is it so difficult for Winston. I do seem to see Winston forcing the ball to Evans a lot.

  12. feelthepewterpower Says:

Let’s not get totally carried away – Wentz and Goff play in two crappy divisions.

  13. 941bucsfan Says:

Yea like the last 2 years where djax only had 4tds in each year from Mr Cousins

Who cares what the fans are sick of? Notice all of Jameis’ troubles started as soon as Jackson started getting thrown to more…after his temper tantrum?

Bucs fans complained he wasn’t connecting, then they complained he was going to him too much, and now that he isn’t connecting again?

Fans don’t know what they want.

We could be undefeated and some of them would still find reasons to hate.

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

And, btw…Winston has been connecting with him.

  16. Roy T. Buford Says:

DJax will be on the roster next year only if there is a new GM, HC, and starting QB. The good thing is Godwin has played well.

Was DJax sick all season? Is this why he hasn’t come back to balls all year? Here’s one. He managed to make a flying leap catch in the game but couldn’t come back for an easier one…or try on the best long ball Jameis threw to him all year?

Maybe he was sick, but that doesn’t explain a thing. Frivolous. Laughable really. I hate to say that because I really had hoped we could salvage something here. But looks like we start over, starting with the GM.

At least we have a kicker. Someone put Secret Service protection on Patrick Murray…he may be the only guy left going into next season!

    WHat a waste of money.

Licht won’t make it if Dirk goes.

  18. SteelStudBuc Says:

Jameis plays like he’s sick every game

    More Godwin please

I don’t hear any of u Jameis haters mentioning how Jackson didn’t even try for a deep ball that he should should have caught. U Jameis haters are either gator fans who got tired of Jameis kicking the gators ass for two years or just not real knowledgeable. Wentz is great, he is like 25 or 26 years old, and he plays for a team that understands how to build a d line and an o line. This team has no defense!!! NONE!!! Joe Montana couldnt win here. Jameis is 23 and he was hurt this year. His accuracy for all u haters has been fine since he came back from injury, almost 70% completion rate last two games. Should have won last week, yes he turned the ball over but what if KOETTER would have started Barber today? We probably win the game because we would have had a running game so next year if we get a running game and upgrade the defense if Jameis is a turnover magnet and they still lose than fine but Jameis is way too young to give up on at this point.

  21. SteelStudBuc Says:

    I’m not a Jameis hater… I’m a Jameis truther.
    He stinks… big time

  22. MadMax Says:

Jimmy T….um, you missed my posts i guess….ready to move on from JW#3, Jackson and ME#13….and yeah im hated for saying that by some here, eh whatever

  23. nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

    Preach Buccaneer Bonzai!

  24. cmurda Says:

The JW haters are hilarious. Not only is he the best QB we’ve had in our history but yet again when he needs to make the plays, he does. Yet again, the defense fails with the game in the balance. Against the Bills, up by a TD our defense gives up a 3 play drive in less than a minute and then Hump fumbles, which of course, was Jameis’s fault. Last week, the offense didn’t get a chance to possess the ball because our defense gives up an easy TD in OT. That’s 3 games that a decent defense wins for this team. The difference between 4-9 and 7-6 was this pitiful defense. You could add in the Cards game with the embarrassing defense and pretty much any road game. The problem isn’t Winston, D Jax or Evans. It’s the offensive and defensive lines. Our upcoming draft should be mostly linemen.

  25. mp813 Says:

    cmurda

Thank you! Yes Jameis makes mistakes and tries to do to much but the defense has lost us several games when Jameis got us the lead. Also the pass rush has been non existent.

  26. lambchop Says:

DJax will never lay out for a catch. He just might jump up for one or might come back for one if he’s giddy. But, he will NEVER layout for one. He’s a one trick pony and if you don’t have accuracy, you won’t ever get to stroke that pony.
