Four Bucs Out Sunday

December 8th, 2017

Who won’t play?

The final injury report prior to Sunday’s game with the Lions has been released.

Four Bucs will not suit up. The missing will be Clinton McDonald, T.J. Ward, Vernon Hargreaves and Josh Robinson.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, who injured his throwing hand last week and has been limited in practice all week, is listed as questionable.

I guess this is the norm but it seems to me our defensive players are more consistently injured than the offense. I know we have put Dotson & Marpet on IR…..but we had Jack Smith & Noah Spence along with Hey Jude there for a longer period.
It’s getting time to shut these players down…..if their injuries have any chance of reoccurring, send them to IR and let some younger players develop.

Any word on what’s going on with Hargreaves?

This is why I think Koetter has done a worse job than Smith and it isn’t close for me. Both have been bad but I don’t get the media pouncing on Smith so much and giving Koetter more of a pass.

Koetter has had the horses to put up points and fails each week with game plans and in game adjustments. He has no excuses. More talent by far on that side of the ball and it’s been relatively healthy copared to the D.

On the other hand – Smith lost our best pass rusher for the year; our best LBs and core players for like another month+; brent grimes, TJ Ward, & VHIII for multiple games; and has had an additional 1-2 D-lineman out each game it seems on average. Ryan Smith & Justin Evans are the only players who haven’t been hurt at some point. That’s pretty crazy.

Hargreaves has been out the last 4 weeks with a hamstring injury. Not sure why he hasn’t been put on IR yet at this point.

I’m guessing he’s close to being ready to come back and after the bad play early in the year, the Bucs want to give him a chance to redeem himself somewhat in the last few games and put some positive plays on tape heading into what is likely a make or break off season for Vernon.

You kinda get the feeling that..Pressbox Smitty could care less whether he’s here next yr or not. He just..hums right along with his binoculars up there in the pressbox. Why he is not on the sidelines is something many have not asked or don’t care about. But I wonder WHY..he does not roam the sidelines with his troops? And..I get the feeling..won’t matter whether Stafford plays Sunday or not. Some other un-named QB will make his bones against us. Sorry but I can’t help this ‘GET OUT” sinking feeling about my Bucs.

Mike, what are you talking about? I’m all for criticizing M.Smith but him wanting the best possible view of the field is an invalid one.

Is it to much to ask to have sound reasoning behind your complaints?

Too bad Martin is starting. I’m with Joes — Barber has earned the starting role on a performance basis. Dirk may not want to coach the Bucs anymore, he sure is acting like he’s more stubborn than the man who invented stubborn, Lovie Smith.

JimmyMack..You’d think with all the losing the Bucs encounter, Smitty would try anything..Something different perhaps to..motivate his troops? Just once? I mean..your troops are getting their A.se. handed to them every Sunday. And YOu..are a mile away calling the shots? And you say, best possible view of the field? PLEASE! That view has produced 8..soon to be 9 losses man. If I’m a general, I’d try a different view there. But its Ok JimmyMack, his different view is coming shortly. He’s gonna be getting that view you and I have…in front of his TV set with a Brewsky come next year!!!
