“Voice Message” From Uber To Jameis Surfaces

November 19th, 2017

Has latest on Jameis Winston allegation including reaction from Bucs.

Very interesting development in the saga between an Uber driver and Jameis Winston.

An Uber driver, some 20 months ago in Arizona, alleged Jameis grabbed her in a private area and the NFL recently launched an investigation. Jameis has pleaded his innocence and a fellow passenger, Eagles cornerback Ronald Darby, also claims Jameis has been wrongly accused.

Well, the ultimate NFL insider, Jay Glazer on the FOX NFL pregame show claims he has received a “voice message” in which can be heard a representative from Uber. The message from Uber was an an attempt to contact Jameis as part of an Uber in-house investigation.

Glazer said he received the voice message which was an Uber representative asking for information on “you or somebody else in the car,” Glazer said, quoting the voice message.

The reason this is significant is that the Uber driver initially claimed Jameis was the lone passenger. Darby told Glazer in a statement this morning that there was also an unidentified third rider in the car.

As for the recording Glazer has and the allegation against Jameis, Glazer said, “Right now, the Buccaneers and Winston are confident it will get cleared from this.”

Joe, a TB Times reporter heard this and reported on it on Friday already.

  2. MadMax Says:

A woman as an uber driver is very dangerous (already risky for a man). The malcontents are out there and will reveal themselves more easily if its a female though. I would make sure any female family member of mine was packing heat if she chose that as a job, which is against their rules, but f that….criminals dont follow rules (or laws).

  3. The Buc Realist Says:

also if someone in the party bought 3 meals on a credit card can be traced back to more than just one person in car!!!!!!

What is crazy is if it was Gronk accused of this, the media would have celebrated him!!!!!! it would be ” gronk being gronk”!!!!! He would have picked up sponsors!!!!!! Taco Bell would have a “grab the taco like gronk” campaign!!!! He and the Uber driver would have been on talk shows smiling and yucking it up as a positive situation!!!!!!

    GO Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Defense Rules Says:

Aaaah yes, the plot thickens. `According to Darby, he & Jameis were in the backseat & that a 3rd passenger (as yet unidentified) was in the front. Still more investigating to be done obviously, but this sure does seem to throw cold water on that Uber driver’s account. Perfect example of why today’s media needs to do more investigating the facts before reporting things like this. Their initial accounts do irreparable damage to people’s reputations, even if they’re innocent.

  5. BuccaneEric75 Says:

    Realist! LOL! I needed that

  6. Doctor Stroud Says:

If Jameis Winston had nothing to do with this but wants to be a “leader”, what should a leader have done in this situation? Got ahead of this and contacted the NFL? What did he do? Yes, much more needs to investigated.

  7. MadMax Says:

Na Realist, only a racebaiter would think that.

  8. AlteredEgo Says:

    sick to my stomach

  9. Roy T. Buford Says:

This bodes well for Jameis for a civil or ciminal suit, the former more likely than the latter…and the statute of limitations for a civil suit is two years…so it looks like the driver MAY be contemplating such an action given the timing. HOWEVER, the “you or somebody else” comment is the first time I’ve heard of Uber saying it may not be Jameis, AND that there is more than one person. The two facts still needed and that WILL come out are who was in the front seat. Very odd this is not out…and pity if it’s an NFL player. For those saying Jameis should have avoided this…there is nothing unusual about being in a Uber in the back seat after a night on the town at 23 years old per se. If the other guy was mishaving, AND JAMEIS knew, he should reasonably have intervened (did he?)…BUT MORESO he should have TOLD THE BUCs that there was an inicident. Being a 23 year old dumbazz drunk millionaire is one thing…being all that as the face of an NFL franchise that took a huge risk and gamble on you that impacts the organization’s reputation is another thing altogether.

  10. AlteredEgo Says:

    yeah….car flags….sad….

  11. Wausa Says:

Multiple factors at play including the racist media, but we are seeing a 2017 version of McCarthyism.

  12. Howard Cosell Says:

National media HATES Jameis and the Bucs.
Will stoop to any level to undermine us.
    This is absolute bullsh*t accusation.
Nothing to see here, move along and pray for humanity.

The timing of this accusation is HIGHLY suspect.
Right after Jameis is out of the lineup and the team is in turmoil this comes out of nowhere…..fishy at best, felony false accusation at worst.

  13. Howard Cosell Says:

I say the Bucs have some huge lawsuits to file over this.

  14. Roy T. Buford Says:

@Defense…as much as I loathe the media overall, they did their job here so far..but it’s just not done. The facts are that it is alleged that Jameis did something. It is a shame that the 24 hour news cycle puts it out to the point the story grows legs before all facts come out. Hopefully the public holds the media to account for reporting the WHOLE story. It does suck for the falsely accused though.

@DoctorStroud…I think you definitely get it.

  15. Lamarcus Says:

I would say this is a shot to the jw haters praying he is guilty tho.

  16. Howard Cosell Says:

    @Roy

    They did their job???
LOL….REALLY? Wow….what job is that? Lynching black people?

    BIG TIME racist media.

  17. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Madmax

Not race baiting at all, to be honest, Been trying to crow bar in the “grab a taco” since they got to-go orders from the drive thru at a mexican restaurant!!!!!!!!!!

  18. LakeLand Says:

Another ploy to bring a Blackman down in AmeriKKKa.

  19. The Buc Realist Says:

We must find the identity of the 3rd passenger so the mystery of the “Taco Bandit” can be solved!!!!!!!!!!!!

  20. webster Says:

    @ joe

I brought this up to you on friday when i told you ian rapaport tweeted he heard the message. Do you not like ian rapaport?

  21. unbelievable Says:

Didn’t we know about this on Friday?

Seemed like BSPN and other outlets were just choosing not to report it…

  22. MadMax Says:

Hahaha, nice one there too Realist. Wasnt meaning you were race baiting, just the thought some of them would think…..came off wrong sorry,.

  23. tval Says:

Where’s st Pete and anamoly?? Rhetorical. The bus already won today..lol

  24. Jbravo Says:

Don’t read to much into uber call asking for info on passeger/passengers…they are seeking info and not wanting to commit to either assumption..she said 1 rider,he said 3..uber playing with open mind .could go either way.basic investigation tactic 101.

  25. Bob in Valrico Says:

This could have all been solved long ago if Jameis had cleared it up from the getgo. Not sure if Uber or Jameis is the problem. But there should be no further delay in identifying the third passenger.

  26. Macklemore Says:

The Uber driver has retained John Clune, the attorney who represented Winston’s first victim. He has already requested the NFL take possession of Darby’s phone for a forensic investigation.

  27. Jbravo Says:

How do you know there is a third rider?..let me guess jw the problem.

  28. Jbravo Says:

Phone call records ..between jw and darby..oh o….it ain’t hard to figure dat scheme out..
    .

  29. Jbravo Says:

Last point being who’s to say there weren’t 3 riders, ? ..2 got out…,left jw in car for solo taco run?

  30. Roy T. Buford Says:

@Cosell…you are too funny. What is racist about reports that a Uber driver alleges Jameis groped her? Think you are a bit too sensitive.

  31. RandomBucFan Says:

Don’t forget that Winston was also accused multiple times of crimes he did not commit. ESPN, for example, reported that Winston was possibly gambling on games and throwing them–their evidence? An ex-con turned bookie lost a ton of money on the Lousville-FSU game and threw Winston’s name out there. Literally, that was the body of their evidence.

In another instance, JW was accused of signing autographs and selling them for money. Again, no evidence, just somebody making something up. Jameis needs to take a page out of Trump’s playbook and start SUING.

  32. BucTrooper Says:

    Reasonable doubt.

  33. Jojo Says:

What makes it more shady is Uber doesn’t have a customer care line or no way to contact them. I know because I have been double charged by Uber. Google Uber phone number. Does not exist.

  34. Mike Johnson Says:

She lied initially. Now says it was more than one passenger in the car after a witness came forward. She’s tryin to get paid. O hope they find Jameis innocent on this one. from now on, Jameis needs to stay home with his old lady and enjoy eatin crab legs.

  35. satchseven Says:

mike nothing to stop shakedown artists from placing bs charges.amazing how many men do think women will not screw you over when big money is involved. i learned at 20 yrs old in the air force that all women are not nice, the crap i saw around the base

  36. Chris Says:

My cousin was an uber driver, trying to earn some money on the side. One night a guy exposed himself to her. You just can’t put women in a car with a strange man and not expect things like this to happen.

  37. Capt.Tim Says:

Realist and Lakeland- enjoy your victimitize.
The media isnt the court system. They are not accountable for their statements.
Anyone who has watched fake news CNN knows that.

There will be investigations. If any illegal actions are proven, then charges may be filed.
Jameis has been thru this already, and knows the system
And he was proven innocent, by the way.
His reputation suffered more, from standing on a table, Chanting” Grab her the the pu**y”. This was recordrd on tape, and while he was still being investigated!
It excessive coverage wasnt because he was black.
Its because he acted stupidly!! While being investigated for Rape- dont get recorded chanting Sexually inappropriate chants!!

Police arrest correspond to the amount of reported crimes. This stat proves true irreguardless of Race, Gender, etc.
the number of crimes reported, corresponds to the number of arrest.
In other words- for every 100 crimes reported, an average of 20 arrest are made- reguardless of all other factors

But better to be a victim , than to be accountable.

Is it just me- or is it always the same for this team.
Lose enough games to miss out on the playoffs. Then winnenough games to miss out on a decent draft pick!

We need a high pick. I think we may be drafting a QB. I really like Jameis- but I am questioning if his decision makng will ever be good enough to be a playoff QB. And my opinion has nothing to do with the new controversy

  38. Roy T. Buford Says:

I stated yesterday given the two year statute of limitations in AZ for filing a civil suit, and the timing of the complaint to the NFL was going, that it was likely she had retatined legal counsel. And here we are, with John Clune her attorney, who states of his client “Her sole purpose is to put other women on notice of this unacceptable behavior as so many other women have recently done.” The same guy who wants the NFL to break down Ron Darby’s phone for the GPS records because Clune says indeed Jameis was the only person in the car. Good luck with that one, Mr. Clune. BUT….what I see coming is Clune trying to use the NFL investigation to do his work for him. And with such investigation completed by the NFL, either way in say, four months, then Clune can drop a civil suit before the time expires and subpoena the NFL records of the investigation. Ultimately, I expect his goal is to get the client to settle out of court….again. Never did like the ambulance chaser type of lawyers…

And I sure hope Jameis is telling the truth. If he is, and I expect he is, I give it three days until the third guy’s name comes out, and he may be in a heap of trouble instead. In which case, Clune can simply express gratitude clearing up the number of people, and then go after the other guy. But no, Jameis will still be in hot water if he didn’t tell his team of it all.

I’d also like to ask the Uber driver if the alleged touching on the crotch was related to the person in the passenger seat leaning over to order to food OR talk to the person in the drive-through window. Prove it wasn’t incidental contact…

  39. Roy T. Buford Says:

Add to the above…perhaps any contact was incidental to ordering food from the drive-thru window, no matter who it was. And if the person admits to being pretty drunk, easy enough to be sloppy as he11 in leaning over. What else was said, Ms. Uber driver? Any harrassing talk, suggestive nature before or after? And of course, eventually, if she is attempting to get anything out of it, name, age, other characteristics will come out.

  40. lurker Says:

    silly tim

cnn is more honest and trustful than faux news or the liar-in-chief
    smh

  41. horse sense Says:

This is one of the hundreds of examples for Uber to insist on having cctv security in every one of its cars. The job of being a driver is just so dangerous and Uber places all their drivers in a vulnerable position without this form of security.

  42. Capt.Tim Says:

Lurker- I guess thats why CNN has had to print 11 retractions so far this year
    And Fox-0
But feast on lies if you wanna

  43. lurker Says:

lol, where do you get your info? infowars?
shows me that cnn has the honesty and integrity to admit mistakes, not fox. and fox has retracted. smh

    silly little man

can’t believe you mention fox news on a thread about sexual assault. much less the lack of truth.
