Listen To Ira

November 17th, 2017

Discusses why Chucky might coach again.

If you are not listening to the famed “Ira Kaufman Podcast,” what’s the matter with you?

Of course in Ira’s latest pod, presented by Ed Morse Cadillac Tampa and Ed Morse Cadillac Brandon, he went deep on the Chucky rumors after speaking to people with knowledge of the situation. So what Joe is bringing here isn’t breaking news, but Joe thought some readers might enjoy listening to Ira talk with his good friend, the one and only Chris “Mad Dog” Russo of SiriusXM Radio.

Ira explains the reasons why the Chucky rumors have merit. Ira also drops a mini-bombshell about the possible future of the broadcast booth with “Monday Night Football.”

Enjoy!

(Thanks to Mad Dog Unleashed and SiriusXM Radio for the audio.)

What Ira is saying makes sense if all the Monday ight Football things are true.

I would just rather have someone who has, ya know, been in the league the past decade.

  2. Tom Edrington Says:

Chucky again? Crap, would be like watching television re-runs….

  3. Kobe Faker Says:

    Great stuff ira/jbf

    Stars lining up

Bet he cant wait to get his hands on OJ also

  4. Matt Says:

I was always a big fan, they never should have let him go! Gruden Gruden Gruden !

  5. Matt Says:

Gruden was 9&6 with scrubs like Jeff Garcia, yeah I think he can win with our roster!

  6. Hodad Says:

Gruden coming back again would be first on my list. Some fans here have been saying Harbaugh. I posted before I didn’t care for that choice. Let me be clear tho, I’d take him over winning lol Dirk Koetter. Both are proven NFL head coaches unlike Dirk that got ran out of Az St.

  7. Gerald McRuud Says:

9-3 with Garcia and BRIAN FRIGGING GRIESE starting 3 of those games. Both guys out of the league the next year. And we crown Dirk’s azz for going 9-7 with Jameis Winston. If Matt Ryan had fallen off after Dirk’s most recent termination, there might be merit in suggesting he’s the guy to develop the guy. But the opposite happened when they brought in a smart WCO guy like Kyle Shanahan. You know, that kid who was Gruden’s QC assistant on offense in 04-05 when we were winning division title with CHRIS FREAKING SIMMS.

Joe signing IRA as a free agent isn’t quite as good as when the Bucs signed Simeon but its close.

    GO BUCS!!!

  10. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I have been extremely busy trying to complete three novels to release in 2018, so I have very little time these days.

That said, even if I just skim over most of the articles lately, I always bookmark the Ira, Monday Morning Joe and ScuttleBucs podcasts to listen to. I try to never miss one.

I think Joe is onto something with these podcasts. On demand broadcasting is the future.

  11. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The only way I could see Gruden coming here is if the Glazers put it in writing that they could not fire him for 5 years.

Heck, that’s the only way any good coach would come to Tampa.

Stick with Koetter. We’re going the right direction.

  12. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Maybe it’s just me, but I was burnt out on Gruden by the time he was fired. He brought us fans the greatest achievement in football and for that I am thankful. However, unless he has matured and learned from some his mistakes when he was younger, he just has a personality that wears thin eventually. Al Davis said as much when the Bucs traded for him and he turned out to be correct.

  13. unbelievable Says:

He brought us to the promised land in year 1, and then never even came close again. Not a single playoff win the rest of his career. Wouldn’t develop a quarterback (or young players at any position really). And our drafts were crap.

This is the guy who passed on Aaron Rodgers to take a running back.

My, how time makes the heart grow fonder.

  14. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

I’m certainly not averse to bringing Jon back. But it’s contingent upon whether or not he is capable of putting together a dynamite coaching staff. And whether or not Gruden would be willing to stick to coaching the team and largely staying out of or in the background on personnel decisions.

Personally I’d rather have Harbough, because of his track record of developing/ getting the most out of his Quarterbacks, and developing a warrior culture in the locker room. As well as having direct ties to one of the better DC’s in the league, Nick Fangio, and I have the utmost confidence could bring the most out of our current players and any young talent we are sure to bring in.

But if Jim Harbough doesn’t want to leave Ann Arbor, we could do a lot worse than bringing back Jon. Who knows, maybe the only one that can get rid of the Gruden curse, is Jon Gruden himself.
