Full-Go Gholston

Starters down

It’s never good when the term “neurologically-sound” is used to describe the aftermath of a football injury.

Sure, it could be worse, but that phrase means something nasty happened and it was a close and scary call.

Bucs defensive end Will Gholston went down in New Orleans early this month with a neck injury and was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital.

Tragedy averted, thankfully.

But Gholston surprised Joe a bit by returning full-go to practice yesterday after being “limited” Wednesday. That bodes well for Sunday in Atlanta. Defensive end Robert Ayers hasn’t practiced this week due to concussion issues, so Gholston is desperately needed to help the Bucs’ dynamic trio at DE: Ryan Russell, Will Clarke and Darryl Tapp. (Sarcasm, folks)

Joe’s assuming Gholston’s neck is 100 percent or the team wouldn’t let him return, and certainly he’ll have fresh legs. Maybe the latter can snap Gholston out of his pass rushing funk.

The 26-year-old run-stuffer has just one sack since dropping Matt Ryan on Nov. 3 of last year.

glad he is back. gholston is a classic example of a player who will blow up and flourish once the face of the basement years cancer93 is not infecting the locker room with his losing ways.

  2. Tampabaybucfanr Says:

Great Tmaxcon…..all we need to do is bench GMC and replace him with Gholston and your wet dreams will come through.

Automatic Victory…..don’t see why Koetter & Smith don’t see that.

  3. tmaxcon Says:

no they need to get cancer93 the leader of the losing culture and face of the basement years out of the locker room… you keep routing for smiles and I’ll keep hoping for a winner

  4. Lamarcus Says:

Gholston is an absulote animal. This year teams are doubling and triple teaming Gholston way more than gmc.

Sorry gmc fan boys Tampa has its 34 end player here to build around already here

  5. StPeteBucsFan Says:

I like Gholston but an animal…bwaaahaaahaaaa

So he is a solid not great run stuffing DE.

He is sackless this year…as in NOT ONE FREAKING SACK!!!

Over his entire career he has ten sacks…in his four preceding years…that’s ten sacks up until now!!!

Meanwhile GMC from the interior has 38.5 sacks over that same period…basically four times the number of sacks as one of our “edge rushing” DE’s.

You two need to clean the poop out of your eyes. Which freaking games are you watching? Your posts have become absurd!

  6. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

Yea let’s can the all-pro for a guy that has one sack in two seasons…

  7. tmaxcon Says:

too many buc fans confuse popularity and smiles with greatness.

meanwhile gmc leads the league in loafing, quitting on coaches and being a me first POS dirtbag…

  8. tmaxcon Says:

he also leads all captains in the number of flat performances and blowouts led.

  9. tmaxcon Says:

but hell let’s not discuss facts lets sugarcoat everything while another is wasted in the basement

  10. tmaxcon Says:

i do feel sorry for the fans of a loveable loser. it’s a shame you have spend more time making excuses and celebrating a good game against a bad dolphins team who was using their 4th or 5th quarterback on roster. Captain Blowout is nothing more than a me first career loser and the face of the buccaneer basement years… the record and final standings prove it year in and year out. your excuses to justify time in the basement are tired yet entertaining.

  11. Lamarcus Says:

Q:Why the bucs sign a “sackless” guy to contract he has?

A: Because any one who has a clue about the game of football knows gholston is a beast and elite run stopper.

  12. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    tmax

That’s a true hoot!! Your posts are the most fact free posts on this blog. That’s why 99% think you are a joke.

  13. SB Says:

    99.9 SPBF ! lol

  14. SB Says:

GMC leads the league in QB hits, Tied for the league in TFL, and Third in the league in Sacks.
If he sucks then what does that mean for the other 60 or so DTs?
    Lol
You are completely stupid Tmax but it is fun making fun of you though 🙂

  15. Bradentonbuc Says:

Okay tmax and Lamarcus, i appreciate that you guys hold an opinion valid only in the sense that since GMC has been here, the Bucs haven’t anything note worthy. You also note GMC’s loafing and lack of real drive. Can you name my other DT’s you would rather have, currently in the pros or on the way via the college pipeline?
Truly, at times I too think McCoy makes errors or doesn’t go full bore but who else would you rather have?
I don’t know about you guys, but the commitment level of NFL players as a whole is a question worth asking when compared to older generations; it is a different game now.
Answer the question or don’t, you are not obligated to. But considering that you guys are a very vocal section of Bucs fans who are not happy with the results of GMC, you would at least theoretically have a solution beyond just cutting off the cancer

  16. EasyTheGreat Says:

Gholston will benefit most when this defense switches to a 3-4

  17. Buc'n A Says:

How many playoff wins has JJ watt gotten the Texans?

  18. Reach87 Says:

Tmax, you’re a moron. Only fact you spew is that we haven’t been to the playoffs in 8 years. You then attribute that to arguably our best defensive player (how bout them pro bowls, double teams, stats and game planning by opposition coaches?). You, with zero knowledge of football ( explain the 34 in your own words), no knowledge of team sports (explain again how you expect a DT to take his team to the playoffs), with no knowledge of leadership (explain how you constant crying about McCoy inspires anyone to do anything but roll their eyes and pity the moron)…you know better. Moron. Go Bucs!

  19. Bucsfan951 Says:

Not sure if tmax and lamarcus are the same person or if they have the same mother who got up too early and all the “good seeds” ran down her leg 🤔

  20. SB Says:

    ^^^^^^^ 🙂

  21. SB Says:

    ^^ 🙂

  22. Roy T. Buford Says:

This is good news, for seeing him on the ground I feared his whole career…and perahps quality of life…was over.
