“This Doesn’t Look Like Something That Was Conveniently Sat Upon For Some Later Use”

November 18th, 2017

Big arrows hitting Jameis

Arguably the most powerful and reasoned voice in NFL media, the guy that has the ear of every owner and general manager, ProFootballTalk.com guru Mike Florio, has weighed in distinctly on the new sexual groping accusation fired at America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston.

Those unaware can click through the link above, but in short, a female Uber driver claims Jameis placed his hand on her crotch without permission while they were in a fast-food, drive-thru line in Scottsdale, Arizona. She didn’t contact police but filed a detailed complaint with Uber quickly.

That latter element was a focus for Florio during his Friday PFT PM podcast, where he said things look very bad for Jameis.

“This doesn’t look like something that was conveniently sat upon for some later use,” Florio said.

“If Winston did this, how stupid is he?” Florio went on to ask rhetorically. He’s already avoided potential prosecution, prison, for an allegation of rape. I don’t know what he paid to settle the case that the accuser brought against him.

“In the first place, why would you ever do it? But if you did anything, or if you just were wrongfully accused, I think being wrongfully accused would make you even more likely to sit there hands in your pockets, looking straight ahead, never do anything, any way, anyhow, that anyone could ever reasonably or unreasonably misinterpret as inappropriate. So the fact that you’re even in this situation facing this accusation, that’s troubling.”

What a mess this is on so many levels for Jameis and the Bucs.

Even if he’s not guilty, the team and Jameis are in a near no-win spot in the court of public opinion. And if he is guilty, well, then Jameis is going to have a new team.

Your crazy joe , either way no way Bucs cut him , and they know gruden is not coming here without a QB in place , Unless they got Kirk C agent on the phone right now , kiss gruden bye
Um, where did Joe say the Bucs would cut Jameis? –Joe

  2. Stav Says:

Whether he did it or not, how do you allow yourself to even be put in that situation? Especially when you already have a past with sexual assault allegations. When Uber called him in 2016, why did Jameis not think “Hey, this could be a story, maybe I should get ahead of this thing and address it with my organization.”? This is not going to end well for anybody, and with a decision on Jameis’ contract coming up in the near future, can you trust giving him the $100+ million dollars that franchise QB’s get nowadays?

Awful, just an awful situation for the Bucs. Welcome to Cleveland South.

  3. jBuc Says:

Not sure why people keep assuming he reached a settlement. My understanding is FSU settled but Winston counter-sued the girl over defamation and they are still battling it out in court
You need to google Jameis Winston and settlement. It’s was done a long time ago. –Joe

  4. Supersam Says:

I person I feel for the most (no pun intended) is Winsnones girlfriend, that poor girl had been humiliated time after time, and cheated on endlessly.

  5. SB Says:

What is sad here is how Jameis doesn’t recognize how his past actions have now shaped how he should act from now on. Due to his past he should Never be alone with a female he doesn’t know and trust. Especially at 2am. I’m not saying it was him in the car but if it was then JW isn’t as smart as he has been made out to be.

  6. Silent_Partner Says:

Uber didn’t sit upon it, but connect the dots with the other story you have here about im seeking a third opinion on his shoulder, looking out for #1, instead of blindly going along with what management wanted and think back to how Josh Freeman’s information was conveniently leaked to the media. Get your heads out of the sand. As far as the allegations, some of you are thick as bricks. The fact that Uber called him and left a voice mail lets you know that he probably wasn’t even aware of this until later once the driver made the complaint but he got blamed because it was his account, something she’s already gotten wrong on how many people were in the car. If someone with him up front even did something like this in a packed, boisterous car at 2:00 AM and she kept quiet while driving them and then going to Uber afterward, this is exactly how it would go. But don’t mind me, I’m just throwing out what logically happened. That doesn’t mean he covered for anyone or even knew it happened until after the fact, had his account suspended over it despite letting them know that he disputed the account, and now 2 years later, somebody wants to bring it up. I’ll let you decide on who that somebody is with Tampa’s track record.

Also, you have to question Uber of any party here for sending a female driver out to pick up a male passenger to begin with at that hour. I actually live in Scottsdale, and in Old Town is where the younger people go to party. I find it strange that a female was dispatched when you hardly ever even see female delivery drivers, let alone Uber or cab drivers that late just for this reason.

  7. Wombat Says:

maybe, just maybe… Jameis isn’t that mature. Obviously he is smart, but he is like a big country kid in a big city.

  8. BUC MAN Says:

IF GRUDEN COME’S TO TAMPA , AND WINSTON IS GONE , HE WILL TALK HIS BROTHER OUT OF KIRK TO BRING HIM TO TAMPA ….

  9. Tackleblockwin Says:

Why is he Ubering around at 2am searching for fast food. He should have been all tucked into bed, dreaming of throwing TD passes against NFCS rivals. 🙂

  10. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Regardless………If it’s true or If it’s not true………this will give the Glazers sense of “pause” whether they want to give their franchise 100 million dollars QB of their money.

The potential for further unheard of accusations or actions is a too high a stakes for this organization……..THE GLAZERS ARE LOOKING AT THE BIGGER PICTURE HERE……and not the now.

What makes this so damming….was the rape accusations and also the crab legs incident.

This all points towards a person with STUPID DECISION MAKING….just like he does on the field the past three years.

I agree with Joe on this one and in past posts……these are troubling times for the BUCS and the Glazers have to make a public statement about this organization moving forward.

  11. Stav Says:

    Silent_Partner,

You must not know how Uber works. Drivers accept/decline their own fares.

I would go with the old saying on this one, “Nothing good happens after midnight”

That could go double for Jamies Winston since he already has a past.

  12. Bobby M. Says:

Terrible look for the player….GM that drafted him and obviously the franchise. That being said, this alone won’t get him cut but who knows what’s going on behind the scenes. Remember we didn’t hear much on Freeman until it came new contract time…then it ALL came out.

Here’s the issue I see….Jameis has a history of poor behavior that has likely been covered up or cleaned up for him for years. He never learns….The guy lacks a basic level of awareness. His talent has always trumped his stupidity….he seems to leverage that and it’s a going to bite him and everyone involved with him professionally. How many coaches, GMs, free agents are we going to burn through trying to make it work? That’s how the Glaziers see this. Before his rookie contract is done, we may have gone through 3 coaches, 2 GMs, and $100 million in free agents for nothing more then controversy and inconsistency.

  13. Dave Pear Says:

And if he is guilty, well, then Jameis is going to have a new team.
Um, where did Joe say the Bucs would cut Jameis? –Joe

    Joe,
You didn’t say he would be cut, but you did say he would have a new team.

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

“And if he is guilty, well, then Jameis is going to have a new team.”

I don’t think this will be the case.

Quite frankly…as I said yesterday, if unsolicited groping is sexual assault, then I could accuse dozens of women. While certainly inappropriate, I do not view it as sexual assault.

Now, if he had continued and forced himself on her after she said to stop (which she never states that she told him to stop anyway), then it might be assault.

Seriously. Am I the only dude here that women have felt up? Did you feel assaulted when it happened?

Even if this is true, which I doubt, it’s not a big deal. Especially since it did not go any further.

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Stav Says
“Whether he did it or not, how do you allow yourself to even be put in that situation?”

Um…if not true all he did is use Uber. How is that putting himself into a situation????

Anyone ever use Uber? Let me ask you a question then:

Have the EVER allowed you to ride in the front seat next to them?

    I didn’t think so.

So you have to wonder…did Jameis reach all the way up from the rear seat, or did the driver (Katie) do the unusual and invite him to ride in the front passenger seat? If so…why would she break the normal policy?

    Its fishy.

  16. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Tackleblockwin Says
“Why is he Ubering around at 2am searching for fast food. He should have been all tucked into bed, dreaming of throwing TD passes against NFCS rivals.”

It’s not unusual for Winston to be at One Buc Place after midnight. Not to mention…he’s permitted to have a social life. For all you know he could have been at a benefit before hand.

This was in 2016 (March I think). Just before the draft. He had just finished his rookie year.

    Keep it in perspective.

  17. Defense Rules Says:

Apparently media types like Mike Florio have already determined that Jameis is guilty. They’ll caveat the living daylights out of their remarks, but as a minimum they’ve already found him guilty of very poor judgment, not exactly what you expect to see in a franchise QB.

Some of the FACTS are clear already it seems: That young lady didn’t file a police report, but she did file a written report with Uber that very night. Jameis was one of the guys in the car (by his admission), but she apparently couldn’t identify him as being the one in the front seat who groped her. There was no video in the Uber to substantiate her story … or his. Jameis, his attorney & the Bucs knew of her claim way back in March 2016.

What we DON’T KNOW is who else was in the car, and can they substantiate Jameis’ story … or hers. That’s the missing link at this point IMO. Of course, even if they all rebut her story, many wouldn’t buy it. The other thing we don’t know is why it took so long for this to become public. Jameis & the Bucs were made aware of her claim back in March 2016. Now all of a sudden, a year and a half later, it all surfaces publicly. WHY NOW? Why not back then? I can understand her position (although she should’ve filed a police report IMO), but Uber kept it under wraps, as did Jameis & the Bucs. Bad decision on all their parts IMO.

  18. Buc believer Says:

    Bonzai…. that’s pretty funny!! “It’s fishy” LOL!!!

  19. Dewey Selmon Says:

I feel for you Joe(s). If you support him you are a homer, if you dog him in anyway you are a hater. Touchy subject this is.

  20. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Bonzai

It’s just a demonstration of the PacManJones syndrome. Yeah so he didn’t grab the woman but odds are somebody did!!! What was he doing out at 2AM with the wrong kind of friends.

I’m still keeping an open mind but at minimum it’s hard to believe that this isn’t at minimum a huge error in judgement in terms of friends and times.

Ray Lewis had a horrible incident involving murder largely because he was rolling with a really bad posse. After that event however Lewis had a squeaky clean reputation. Hard to believe that #3 doesn’t realize he used up a lot of benefit of the doubt with his FSU exploits. Again not saying he’s guilty…but he is stooopid.

  21. Mike Johnson Says:

Jameis should invite the accuser over to his place for some..wine and….crab legs!!

  22. Buc1987 Says:

I’ve been waiting tables at night part time lately. Nearly every server in the building male and female gropes eachothers asses.

    Just throwing that out there.

  23. NFLNut Says:

    ***********

Apparently, this was in the offseason after his rookie year and according to him and his rep, Jameis was in the backseat with friends and one other unnamed guy was in the front-seat who may or may not have put his hand on the driver.

Apparently she had no idea who touched her, which her first text to a friend shows, but then later says it was Jameis … however according to Jameis’ rep when uber got involved the driver did not I.D. Jameis either and his account was suspended simply because it was the account used to book the uber.

All of the above said, I think it’s likely that the driver was “touched” and is not lying but that Jameis himself was in the back-seat and that it was another passenger in the front-seat that touched her. If that is the case, anyone including Florio, is being very irresponsible in accusing Jameis of any wrong-doing or even of making a bad decision as he did nothing wrong.

If I hail a cab with three friends after partying and one of them sits in the front with the cab driver and acts like a moron, that is not on me by any stretch of the imagination.

I also think that if Jameis did this, he’d want to just admit it to the league immediately and take his 6 week suspension right now, for weeks 10-16, come back play the last game of the year at home against the Saints and go into next year with a clean slate … that he immediately came out and said the accusation is false and gave specific details that he was in the back-seat, make it pretty obvious that he did nothing wrong.

At worst Jameis will get a 6 game suspension but I have a feeling this will blow over, the driver may even come out and say it wasn’t Jameis but a friend of Jameis, the fast food camera may show Jameis wasn’t in the front-seat, etc., and he won’t be suspended a single game … but … we’ll see.

However, Jameis finds himself living in the age of public witch-hunts and he is hated by many, so the young man better buckle up and prepare for a bumpy ride in life, not just this year …

  24. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    DefenseRules

She filed the report with Uber immediately. She did not and does not plan to file a report with the police because she does not wish to release her name and face all the slut shaming from #3’s loyal legions.

Here is the problem. We all start with “the benefit of the doubt” and with a reputation. Sometimes that reputation removes some of the benefit of doubt.

#3 has a long reputation at FSU. He needs to be smart enough to realize he has pretty much burnt through that benefit of doubt. He needs to stay squeaky clean until he retires. He OWES that to the Glazers…coaching staff and fans!!!!

  25. The Buc Realist Says:

Look, We do not have the details and most are already jumping to conclusions!!!!!

Lucky for some, I have obtained a video reenactment from my clandestine informants from those in the know of how it all went down!!!!!!!!!!!

    exclusive video here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Bonzai, Jesus you are a moron. I highly doubt any woman has ever found you so irresistible that they had to grab your crotch. You know what though, if they ever did it would be assault. Say you were on a movie set one and Kevin Spacey decided to grab your junk! Would you be cool with that?

  27. Bucsfan951 Says:

It’s alarming how many posters are willing to sweep this under the rug. It’s Uber’s fault for sending a female driver? “If Unsolicited groping is sexual assault, I could accuse dozens of women. While certainly inappropriate, I do not view that as sexual assault.” And yes, Uber lets riders drive up front. I do it all the time. I’m not saying he’s guilty, because he’s innocent until proven guilty, but this Ian not looking good 🙁

  28. Silent_Partner Says:

As far as people asking why would you be out at 2:00AM. This isn’t shady Tampa. Have some of you been to Scottsdale before? It’s golf courses and manicured lawns. So He wasn’t out in NYC or LA or something. This community is very much a bubble. It’s why a million porn stars live here once they turn the camera off because they know that no one will bother them here and let them live a normal life.

This is just like the thing with the kids, being overblown because of who he is with a automatically guilty mentality to start off. There doesn’t have to be a conspiracy. There doesn’t have to be a cover up. There doesn’t even have to be bad judgement (how you’re responsible for others in the car with you is quite a stretch). I do urge you to realize how this conveniently came out when Winston as I know has been wrangling with management about his shoulder issue behind the scenes despite the public happy talk from all parties and not necessarily letting them call the shots on what he should do next because I mean it’s not like the Bucs have a track record or anything on these very matters with players.

  29. Stav Says:

    Bonzai,

He’s involved in a “he said – she said” ordeal involving sexual misconduct. Why set yourself up for there to be any grey area involving your name when it comes to that kind of situation, especially after going through what he went through in college. He’s got to be smarter. It may not be fair, but he can’t go out and party (assuming) and then be left alone with a female Uber driver. Because he is not going to win in the court of public opinion even if he is innocent.

  30. Silent_Partner Says:

    NFLNut ,

Someone sane in these comments. So now you’re responsible for any party you’re with at all times 24/7 even in public, lol. Mike Florio is going to do what he does because he needs clicks since the league’s product stinks right now, but Buc fans ought to be ashamed of themselves. Get a grip people. The national media has never changed their mind on him and never will. They hate Cam Newton for less still and crowbar it in any time he has a bad game or bad exchange with the press. Up to you to decide on whether you want people to like you or have your QB situation solved for the next 15 years. You choose. Now, fire the clown that never should have been elevated and get him a real coach and GM to fix that defense and that mediocre offensive line.

  31. Tampabaybucfan Says:

As I’ve said, Jameis has several problems.

    1. He has a past that is at least questionable.
    2. He is very impulsive….that has shown up on the field and off the field (speaking engagements)
    3. He is a celebrity.
    4. He has money.

Jameis has the money to assure that he is never…never alone with any female…..ever….perhaps not even his girlfriend if they are prone to arguments.

At the very least…if this story is even 10% correct….Jameis is stupid….not book stupid…..street stupid.

  32. Buc1987 Says:

The only thing good that came from this JBF wise was it exposed why JW haters jump all over him when he has a bad game or isn’t playing well.

They exposed themselves as to why they truly bash him and are critical of his play so harshly.

Just like I suspected it never had ANYTHING to do with his play. Look how they pounced on the kid yesterday….

Supersam, AlteredEgo, unbelievable, etc etc you’ve exposed yourselves and your criticism of JW on the field should no longer be considered credible.

  33. The Buc Realist Says:

    As I said yesterday

“A lot has been said about our QB today!!! I think everyone needs to take a step back until the facts and more of the investigation comes to light!!!!!! The only “fact” we definitely know at this point is that clearly our QB is no H0m0!!!!!!!!”

    Go Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. Bird Says:

    Bonzai

Thanks for making men look like pigs. Class act comments there. This is now the Harvey Weinstein era and women are coming out about stuff that happened years ago. Some women were afraid too. It’s there right too after being victimized. Putting this on women is what you are doing is pretty filthy.

  35. Day1BucFan Says:

Would Tom Brady call UBER at 2am? What would Belichick do to a player with this allegation? After watching Hard Knocks, there is no way I want Jameis to be the face of my franchise. He talks about where people piss in the yard, cockroaches, etc. and there is one certainty. Stupid people make stupid decisions over and over.

I guess now that #WeaponsforWinston means a PR firm and a team of attorneys.

  36. Mike n Says:

At buc 87… if you turn the ball over in aprox 6 games, people will rightfully jump all over you.

  37. Stav Says:

As a Buc fan, where do you sit on this meter?

Jameis Apologist: Jameis Winston can do absolutely no wrong. No matter how poorly he plays, how immature he acts on the field, or whatever off the field issue he gets himself into, THATS MY QUARTERBACK, the GOAT, and you are just a racist hater if you think otherwise. The only reason he looks bad sometimes is because the coaches stink and the players around him suck and nobody can block or catch passes. Jaboo for life!

Jameis Realist: Talented guy who makes questionable decisions on and off the field. Hope he figures it out and leads this franchise to sustained success.

Jameis Hater: I knew we shouldn’t have drafted him. He is so overrated and inaccurate. We should have picked Mariota, not this rapist that FSU covered for. Fire everybody….cut Jameis…give $150-million to Kirk Cousins.

I would day you have about 30% JW apologists, 30% JW haters, and the remaining 40% sit in the middle and just get bashed by each end of it.

  38. Bird Says:

    Joe’s

Kudos to you for the reporting on this. I know you guys are huge Jameis lovers. But right and wrong trumps everything. I really hope nothing bad comes of this but if it really was him (or someone in his crew) this looks real bad on the bucs and probably would be on new team

He has to many history of issues (unlike Big Ben and Big Ben super bowl) not to be

  39. Tackleblockwin Says:

Here is the problem. Winston says the driver is confused at who grabbed her crotch. Basically his defense is that it must have been another passenger. The driver says only Winston was in the car with her. So it sounds like if it wasn’t Winston, then it is a mysterious passenger. If in fact it was a mysterious passenger…then who was it? Jameis needs to come forward with who done it. Because it surely does not sound like to me from his “official statement” that nothing occurred when he was in the car. If Jameis is “so against” this type of behavior, and he is claiming someone else did it, then why did he not do anything about it?

  40. jerry Says:

The more troubling fact is that Jameis apparently didn’t learn much from his past legal problems. Jameis is 23. He’s very immature. He’s had a history. He’s got millions of dollars and is a starting NFL QB. Yet, he’s out at 2am partying, and his friends are groping Uber drivers. It doesn’t really matter if he was in the backseat and is innocent. The problem is he put himself in that situation. And the people you keep around you will reflect on you.

This was a hard lesson Roethlisberger learned. You cannot put yourself in bad situations.

That’s Florio’s point. And unless Jameis starts growing up, he will be off the team eventually no matter who the coach is. No coach wants these kinds of problems and immaturity from their starting QB. This guy is supposed to be the leader of your team.

  41. Erik w/ Clean Athletics 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs fans' Says:

    @ Joes,

It was one of the dudes in Jameis’ entourage and he’s being held responsible for his party’s actions bcuz he’s the famous one.

Right or wrong, fair or not, that’s how it is when you’re famous. You have to keep your people in check and make it known that stuff like this can NEVER happen or that person can’t roll around with you any more.

  42. gotbbucs Says:

Guilty or innocent doesn’t really seem to matter in the eyes of the NFL. If this gets longer legs and goes nuclear in the media then look for the NFL to find a way to suspend Winston for six games.

If he is quilty, then he is an absolute dipsh!t and whatever happens to him is earned.

  43. LakeLand Says:

I would bet my right arm that 90% of the commenters on this subject has did the exact same thing. So much for ” The Pot Calling The Kettle Black”.

  44. LakeLand Says:

I’m not saying that Jameis Winston is guilty of anything. I’m saying that ” Inappropriate Touching” is common in America. It’s even in the White House, U.S Senate, U.S Congress, Hollywood, Workplace,Schools etc. It’s everywhere in America!

  45. CBELL96825 Says:

Just take a lie detector test not good in court but it sure would ease my mind as a Jameis fan.

  46. Not there yet Says:

This is the crazy world of words we live in now. The very last sentence of the Joe’s article is “And if he is guilty, well, then Jameis is going to have a new team”

Someone calls him out on it and he says to poster “Um, where did Joe say the Bucs would cut Jameis? –Joe

What are you trying to say? Someone in the NFL would trade for some hot garbage like this? You mean like Freeman lol, if you’re not saying he’ll get cut what are you saying

  47. Roy T. Buford Says:

This happens to all franchise QBs. Look at Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Alex Smith, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Matt Stafford. They ALL have sexual assault allegations coming at them every couple years. Oh wait…no they don’t. Should have taken Mariota afterall. He may be more fragile, but Winston’s ineffectivelyinjured and full of controversy anyway.

  48. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Funny how nobody cared about this specific issue (Including both Joe’s) when they voted a guy into the white house who claimed to do the very same thing all the time.

Now the guy who’s accused of doing it is a young Black super star, and every suddenly cares.

[Don’t be stupid. No one in the Tampa Bay media has defended Jameis more than Joe. No one! That doesn’t mean Joe will absolve Jameis for everything. Just because Joe has staunchly defended him doesnt mean Joe has his head in the sand. — Joe]

A nation of hypocrites are we.

  49. The Anomaly Says:

JW was framed. He is a nice mature guy. He is misunderstood. He is 100% class. Everyone needs to leave him alone.

  50. Frank Pillow Says:

Maybe- just maybe this the the breaking point for ownership to consider hitting the reset with Baker Mayfield and go after Harbaugh, Gruden or McDaniels. They should be evaluating whether it’s time to fumigate. In the court of public opinion Jaboo isn’t a sympathetic figure. Never will be…and guilty or not, it’s his own damn fault.

  51. Pelbuc Says:

You guys don’t get it. Regardless of innocence or guilt, the damage is already done and will continue as long as this franchise places all its chips on JW. This will drag on and I wouldn’t be surprised if more unsavory allegations popped as a result of this oncoming investigation. At the end, even if he’s cleared we’re left with an immature QB with a bad shoulder and accuracy issues. Bucs will never learn!

  52. JimmyJack Says:

Pelbuc…….immaturity I can handle. If these allegations are true he is a creep. That’s a big difference to me.

You can condemn the guy for being immature, that’s your prerogative.

The fact of what really happened with this makes a big difference for me though………Honestly I’m not sure how you say it doesn’t.

  53. gotbbucs Says:

    What Pelbuc said….

  54. EA Says:

They need to do whatever it takes to speed the process and if it comes down to it suspend Jameis this year, this year is already lost. Cant really come out next year uncertain with a suspension lingering, it would kill the moral of the team and fans.

  55. Jim Says:

Funny this didn’t come out when they were on Hard Knocks. Seems contrived considering the sudden national spotlight on this topic.

  56. The Anomaly Says:

Are comfortable giving this guy $100 million?

    Yes or no?

  57. Jim Says:

Immature? He is 23. How did you act at 23?

  58. Jim Says:

It is not mine $100 million, nor is it yours.

  59. Joel Says:

She dismissed her civil suit and he dismissed his counter suit.

    That was the “settlement”

  60. The Anomaly Says:

@ Jim – Are the BUCS comfortable giving this poor poor man that somehow trouble seems to find a lot…$100 mill? That better for you. LOL. I swear there’s a bunch of kids on here posting nonsense.

  61. JabooBuc Says:

Can we stop with the comments about “well the President did it”. You sound like a bunch of 3rd graders. End of the day, if he did this then I think they should figure out a way to part ways with Jameis. This franchise took the ultimate chance on this guy and all he had to do is behave himself.

As an FSU grad and someone that has defended him, my patience is running really thin. I’m beginning to think this guy has major problems.

  62. LakeLand Says:

The SAD part isn’t that the President was on tape BRAGGING about groping women. The sad part is that over 65 million AMERICANS supported him. 3rd graders has FAR more sense than those 65 millions IDIOTS.

  63. LakeLand Says:

If you’re one of those 65 Million IDIOTS. May God Have Mercy on your poor, evil soul.

  64. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

    @Lakeland

Exactly. If the majority of the nation had zero issue electing a guy who bragged about doing exactly this kind of thing into office, then those people shouldn’t have any issue with this. Even if Jameis is found to be guilty, which as of today, we really have no way of knowing other than He said she said.

The thing that seems the most fishy to me, is that she apparently had trouble identifying the perpetrator. When later on she said that he was allegedly alone with her in the car, where Jameis claims to have had company with him. To which I would say, Jameis has a pretty distinct face, and a distinct voice. If he was the only one in the car, it should be cut and dry.

That’s why at this point, the whole story smells to me.

If he didn’t do it – he knows who did and needs to throw that person under the bus, then back it up and run him over again… and again… and again.

  69. JimmyJack Says:

Oh Lakeland get off your high horse. This story isn’t an opening for you to voice your displeasure with politics. And you can open your narrow mind and look at all the rubbish that came out against your precious candidate.

Do that then go take your evil soul speech and cram it.

  70. LakeLand Says:

You must be one of those 65 million IDIOTS. Your name isn’t worth mention.

  71. JimmyJack Says:

Well unlike you Lakeland I saw more to that election then just that one issue. I would say the true idiot would be the one who couldn’t see that

  72. JabooBuc Says:

Joe, was there something wrong with my comment?

  73. Ken G Says:

Was there something wrong with my comment too?

  74. I Bleed Red Says:

I need absolute proof before rendering a decision. Anyone can make an accusation. It’s sad how accusations true or not can ruin a career. More has to be done to people who make false accusations like prison time. We see this in politics way to often where a candidate can be destroyed with lies but when the accuser is found out to be a liar there is no serious legal action against them.

  75. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

I don’t think Joe followed you there Blake. He doesn’t seem to grasp that your criticising the fact that they voted for the guy who was accused of sexual harassment by 12 women. If one ignores that from and voted for a guy that was running for president. Once you do that your opinion regarding sexual assault has no merit. I followed you Blake

  76. LakeLand Says:

If Jameis Winston committed this act. Then he should be punish for it. I have no respect for scumbags. I don’t care who they are, I have no use for them.

  77. LakeLand Says:

If I hear Jameis Winston on tape bragging about groping women. Then he is the lowest type of scumbag on Earth This is how I feel about the situation.

  78. scott gilrane Says:

When the evidence contradicting Kinsman before the trial, she dismissed her lawsuit. She would’ve lost that one, and been taken to the cleaners on the counter suit by Jameis. The “Settlement” was Jameis dismissed his counter after she dismissed hers. Yet, because it’s not what the media and most posters on this site wanted, it only gets reported as a settlement. She was responsible for all court cost she incurred as well. No money changed hands. They held out as long as they could, hoping Jameis would crack and offer money for something he didn’t do. Good for him. Maybe ya’ll should give him the benefit of the doubt. I am.

  79. unbelievable Says:

Bonzai I’m sorry but you’re take on this is fk’n stupid as all hell. What you are trying to compare it to is not the same, at all.

Go get in an uber driver with a female and grab her crotch, see what happens.

No idea if this situation w/ Jameis is true or not, but your “opinion” you’ve been repeatedly posting on here since yesterday is about as dumb as it gets.

And for the record, you are one of the posters on here I like.

  80. cmurda Says:

I hear a lot how this sexual assault allegation might give the Glazers pause in a contract extension with JW. Umm, how about his play. I would be thinking this over if I were the Glazers even before this embarrassing predicament. It’s highly possible that what you have seen with Winston is what you get. He seemed to peak in his rookie year, shot his load and now can’t get to the next level. I am a big Winston fan, but reality is reality. JW’s play this year has been subpar. Average at best. He is inconsistent, cannot throw a deep ball to save his life, and is still lacking on going through his progressions. It’s getting scary in Tampa where many of us thought we had a no doubt franchise QB. JW may end up being a franchise QB after all, but there is definitely doubt now.

  81. JimmyJack Says:

Unfortunately cmurda Winstons play on the field is the least of our worries……or his or the teams for that matter.

  82. Doctor Stroud Says:

I just hope that there is nothing to this. If so, Goodell will come down hard on “America”, who might then become “Canada” very soon.

  83. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Funny how the “other” guys in the car have spoken up…hmm..probably because it was Jameis up front..

This woman HAD NOTHING to gain by her story…ZILCHO! She didn’t press charges and she just reported the incident to Uber..which is what we are suppose to do…

Get rid of Jameis…I too have supported him through thick and the very thin..this is way too much smoke..not to be a fire somewhere..

Better now than after we get him that big fat contract..

Draft a QB or get Cousins who wants to play for a team that would appreciate him..lol..

  84. The Anomaly Says:

@ Blake – She doesn’t want a dime. She’s not a golddigger. This has already been established. It blows you victim blamers out of the water.

She’s not suing you him. Will the victim blamers please get that through your neanderthal skulls please?

    Thank you.

  85. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Meant to say they have not spoken up..No other player or friend have come forward and said Jameis wasn’t up front..

We all deep inside know Jameis is probably guilty as hell..

  86. cmurda Says:

@JimmyJack. It is the least of our worries as it relates to this assault allegation perhaps, but has a lot to do with the decision of whether or not to extend him. Regarding the case, the scary part is how this was reported when it happened and the fact that the woman is not seeking financial compensation. I really hope there isn’t anything to this in the end, but JW’s character was already on thin ice. If JW did anything wrong or dimwitted, I think JW and Licht will be elsewhere.

  87. JimmyJack Says:

@Anomaly @LifeOfBucfan…….The accuser says Winston was only passenger Winston claims otherwise. Doesn’t that tell you that somebody was lying? Whoever is lying loses a lot of credibility, don’t they?

I’m trying to be impartial here, not victim blaming. At this point it is hard to believe Winston is innocence based on his history surrounding this type of accusation. But I still think it’s fair to reserve judgement til more facts come out and hopefully they do. Could you guys really stand by your comments if next week a recording from the drive trough where this incident happened reveals that Winston was not in the passenger seat and somebody else was?
I dont see how you could.

All I’m saying is that Winston deserves the same benefit of doubt that we all should get, including the victim.

  88. JimmyJack Says:

Cmurda…..I guess. I just feel numb towards the team at this point. I have been trying to find a way to continue caring each week as a fan but now I just don’t know.

As bad as this season has been it was hard to imagine it getting any worse and now this. The whole organization is an absolute disgrace right now in the worst way imaginable………All I can say is that I truely hope hard evidence comes to light out of this so the franchise can move on one way or the other. It will be very hard to care about this team if they have dark clouds over their heads………they are surrounded by dark clouds tomorrow and quite frankly I’m not sure I care how we play tomorrow. This incident has just sucked the life out of my rooting interest.

  89. LifeOfABucFan Says:

    @JimmyJack..

She didn’t have any reason to make up this story..so, let’s say it was another passenger..well why hasn’t this other person spoken up and defended Jameis? Why didn’t Jameis call out the person? After all this is HIS career.

This Uber driver has wanted nothing from day one…she reported it to Uber, which is what we are instructed to do..same for Lyft..I am going to bet that Uber probably told her “we will take care of it” and she thought this was the end of it..but Bizzfeed got wind of it and chased her for the story..

When I first came to America with my green card, actually a light purple one..lol..I worked at one of the highest end hotels here in Tampa..the sh!t I saw as a bartender and room service worker would blow your mine..

This hotel kept the visiting team through the year..I can tell you all stories that would make your beer go flat in two seconds..

I was harassed by a Cincinnati Reds player to no end..once he had some booze in him he was a different person…he was from Tampa, attended HS here and was a darling to his fans..My tip was on the line every night with him..so I took so much verbal crap as I could..

I did end up cutting him off, or “86’ing” him and all hell broke loose..so I learned to just keep my mouth shut from these start athletes..even my boss told me not to lose his business…

  90. JimmyJack Says:

I see your point Life that Winston has much more to gain from lying about the situation then the victim but my point is that factor alone should not be the determining factor here………After all, it should not be too difficult for this investigation to determine if there was just one passenger or multiple.

I’m willing to let that part come to the surface and I think it will be difficult to believe either side that is not being honest.

  91. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

^Both of you just showed how naive you are.

She doesn’t have a reason to lie? Are you kidding? Hello, the last person who falsely accused Jameis walked away $950,000 richer.

Sorry, but If you don’t think that 50 grand shy of a million is enough of a reason for some one to lie about another person, then you are just flat out ignorant.

  92. JimmyJack Says:

Sorry Blake, maybe you know more about how this works but last time I checked the victim wasn’t pressing charges or even going public with her identity about the matter….So exactly how does she expect to profit from this?

  93. NFLNut Says:

    ************

If I had to guess at what happened, I’d say someone riding with Jameis that night and sitting in the front seat did what the driver said … but there’s no way Jameis should be punished for that.

To those who are saying, “why didn’t Jameis do anything about it” … even the driver says the passenger removed his hand as soon as she said, “What’s up with that” and that “there was no further incident” the rest of the ride.

If Jameis was in the back seat with another person or even two other people and talking, etc., it is highly probable he didn’t even know anything happened at all, and had no idea there was an issue until the next day when uber suspended his account as it was his account that was used to reserve the cab …

To those who are saying, “why doesn’t Jameis name the actual front-seat passenger” … I doubt Jameis would snich on his friend, especially when there is no PROOF whatsoever that anything actually happened. If YOU were in Jameis situation and a driver was claiming you touched her but you knew it was your friend in the front passenger seat and your friend says, “bro, she’s lying and just trying to get money from you, I didn’t lay a finger on her”, would YOU drop your friend’s name in the media and put him through hell? I wouldn’t! If the driver has an actual case, then let her file a civil case against the actual passenger!

Now, I would urge Jameis to tell his friend to speak to the NFL and sign a legal affidavit attesting to the fact that he and not Jameis was the front-seat passenger, but I wouldn’t tell Jameis to just publicly blast his friend, when for all Jameis knows, this driver really could just be seeking a pay-day …

Again, if the driver has an actual case, then let her file a civil case against the actual passenger!

    ****************

  94. cmurda Says:

    @NFLNUT

Trust me, I hope it’s not but there has been nothing to lead anyone to believe that Jameis wasn’t in the passenger seat. In fairness, nothing suggests he was. The point is what if everything you said was true except JW was in the passenger seat. Unless you hear one of the passengers own it and apologize, we have to be real that this could have happened and it could have been Jameis.

  95. LakeLand Says:

People should just let this play out and quit rushing to pass judgement. There’s a lot of people hoping and praying that’s it’s true. They have been waiting 3 years for this moment. It’s pathetic for someone to waste their life away, while waiting for someone else to fall.

Your crazy joe , either way no way Bucs cut him , and they know gruden is not coming here without a QB in place , Unless they got Kirk C agent on the phone right now , kiss gruden bye

Um, where did Joe say the Bucs would cut Jameis? –Joe

The last line and if he is guilty well he will be on a new team

  97. Sunny Says:

“And if he is guilty, well, then Jameis is going to have a new team.”

Does that not mean he is cut ????

  98. Dylan Says:

lol or Jaboo is gonna have a new team. @joe no way lol he was drafted 1st overall. He will get suspended 4-6 games forsure regardless. Bucs invested way to much and he has done way more good then bad so far, keep in mind he is 23. He is always with kids etc. work ethics you name it. I mean sh*t thank god your not the GM cause whatever team gets him is set. I’d bet money the patriots would slide right in and Swoooooooop
Him up then we will be reading post about Jaboo holding up
Trophies in New England once tom retires cause Tampa cut a 23 year old kid who got in trouble once. That FSU case is bullsh*t I went there. Everyone in town knows she got her $ just like planned.

  99. Dave Says:

Jameis is going to get suspended for like 6 games. So any coach that comes here will be without a QB for the first half of the season.

Plus apparently he’s got something really wrong with his shoulder if he’s now gone for 3 opinions.

  100. JimmyJack Says:

I’m with Joe. If the story we have heard from the victim is truth get Winston off my team. I could care less what a creep does in another city.

  101. Sunny Says:

Jimmy jack , so Ben R should have been cut ?? Favre ?? Can go on but I think u get the point this is football it’s about winning , not a moral compass , more than half the league won’t be gone if we take out everyone who got it trouble.

Dave , off the team and 6 game suspension are different things, and we don’t know he will get suspended, did he last time ? He was playing when it was settled. If , Shoulder injury was that bad he would not have been in there the following weeks before been pulled out , he has a long time to heal , can sit him rest of season and off season , plus for example if gruden comes in JW won’t be throwing all those deep balls like now

  102. Sunny Says:

TouchDownTampaBay Yeah woman have grabbed my junk in a club , it’s not that unusual , of course now a days things have changed , with that thinking going on a date and trying to get second base would be assault

ALso she can say she doesn’t want money , but i bet she settles for a million

@joe , as Blake said about trump , can you seriously say u never felt a woman a$$ or b00bs in a club before

  103. Sunny Says:

ONE THIng we are overlooking is , although it was JW account , could he not have done it for someone else ? Like reedy who wasn’t just cut averaging better than humps last yr in returns ? I am not sure who else was there with him but he could be covering for someone or it could be one of his friends if he was there. Either way , a fall guy will be coming out soon , who will have the next couple yrs set money wise , he agent has got to be already making a cover up

  104. JimmyJack Says:

Sunny……..I can’t answer your questions cause I never followed those stories and don’t know the details. I don’t follow many off field issues outside of TB but all I can tell you is that I was glad Ben Rothlisbergers situation was not part of my team. Not sure what Brett Favre did that compares to this.

It’s just two sides of the fence when it comes to moral issues in sports man. Some folks put winning ahead of all else and some care about the players that represent their town on top of winning, especially concerning their team leader……..No matter what, I think it’s safe to say that the Bucs have left all of their fans disappointed no matter which side of the fence they’re on.

  105. Joe Says:

@joe , as Blake said about trump , can you seriously say u never felt a woman a$$ or b00bs in a club before

  106. Pawel Says:

Glazers paid this accuser so they have a reason to dump Winston.
    #ConspiracySaturday

  107. CalBucsFan Says:

Jameis’ past indescretions and immature incidents have left him margin for error moving from the college ranks to the pros. The Bucs, desperate for a generational type QB, convinced themselves there was only smoke, and no fire when it came to Jameis and now, well, here we are.

Regardless of how things turn out, there is nothing good that will come out of this, the damage has already been done. I imagine there’s a morality clause in Jameis’ contract that may yet become relevant, depending on the investigation results. Whether there is or not, I tend to think the Glazers will want to move past this, permanently. The Bucs brand will ALWAYS come first, they will not and should not ever compromise.

Sadly, I too believe enough is enough. I’ve thought long and hard about this for a few weeks now, and this latest “allegation” just seals it for me. I’ve been a Bucs fan since the day the team joined the league, and have learned in 60+ years of life that where there is smoke, there pretty much always is a fire. There has just been way too much smoke trails in Jameis’ story for my liken, and I really don’t want to listen to the excuses anymore. I want to hear how hard my Bucs QB and team leader is honing his craft to turn this team into a perrenial contender, not listen to he-said-she-said stories, time after time.

JW is just one more QB in the long line of Buccaneer QBs, yeah, better than most, but the brand and the team will always come first. I say trade him to Cleveland during the off-season, and then either go after Garrapolo or one of the colllege studs coming out in the next draft. Hue Jackson is such a good QB coach, maybe he can help JW become all he can be, I hope he can, but it’s time for a change in Tampa.

    Always, GO BUCS!

  108. Archie Bunker Says:

Could the mysterious front seat passenger be a drug dealer? That would make situation very difficult to explain.

  109. NFLNut Says:

^ Or maybe it was Michael Vick, Tyrod Taylor, Larry Fitzgerald or Patrick Peterson, all of whom were also in town for the same event Jameis was and hanging out together … and Vick and Fitz have an actual rap sheet!

  110. DavidBigBucsfan99 Says:

It’s a funny thing these Bucs fans are. Some jump right off the Jameis boat some remain loyal without proof or evidence. Some make statements from male point of view others from a womans though some are men. There are some who have always had an agenda against Jameis those are obvious. One thing the haters never picked up on is he never denied anything he did, he admitted he had consensual sex with that erica chick but denied the rape part. She sued him but got zip but sure enough got paid by FSU. He has kept his nose clean the whole time he’s been here doing good things in the community but at the first sign of even saying something not acceptable by some even his so called supports jump on him. He has shown how he genuinely cares about his team and other people but it’s not good enough for many. Now this new woman waits two years to make public what happened. From my understanding her recollection she couldn’t even get it right who was up front in the back or how may people were in the car plus she didn’t even know it was Jameis AND many people condemn him. Sounds just like the rape case. How long now do you think it will take for her to go after his money now?

I wonder how Steeler fans acted with Rothlesburgers rape charges. This is just conjecture because I don’t follow the steelers in any way but I doubt he goes through much like Jameis because he’s white. Like it or not in Ameika many whitemen still hate seeing blackmen with white women and that’s why so many convicted Jameis from the the getgo even though her changung stories showed she was lying and the fact she went straight for the money was obvious but that don’t matter. Tampa Bay is full of banwagoneers so Jameis will never be allowed to live a normal life in Tampa or Amerika either.
