All-Pro Year?

November 24th, 2017

Back to Orlando?

Joe is confident Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy will make another Pro Bowl this year. Dude is having a helluva season.

But Joe didn’t realize how big of a season McCoy is putting up. The Bucs media relations department pumped out a cool nugget Wednesday. Below are the highlights:

GMC has 20 quarterback hits this season, most in the NFL for any defensive lineman. He has 10 tackles for loss, tied for the most among defensive tackles with Atlanta’s Grady Jarrett. GMC has 5.0 sacks, third among all defensive tackles trailing only Cincinnati’s Geno Atkins and Dallas’ David Irving (six).

Yes, those are Pro Bowl numbers and maybe, just maybe, GMC might be an All-Pro selection? Joe may have to pester eye-RAH! about that, since he is Tampa Bay’s only national voter.

If GMC has a couple more monster games this season like he had at Miami, that’s All-Pro stuff.

And to think there are sober Bucs fans that want to run this guy out of town.

I concur. Just watch the tape. Team are putting two guys on him on 99% of the plays. It is not his fault that the other DLineman cannot take advantage of the created mismatches. Too many fans bash this buy because he is not the typical loudmouth defensive player that feeds their own ego by either self promotion on the field (after a play) OR making the headlines off the field.

  2. Buccaneer scotty Says:

    I don’t get the haters he’s my favorite buccaneer!!🏈🦃🏈

  3. SB Says:

Lol……..nice taunt Joe. I will come back and read this thread later.

  4. Lamarcus Says:

    Yup. Out of town.

Gmc is chasing these probowls not titles

We fans are chasing a freaking playoff game. This is where the producers and the consumers are not on the same page = confusion

Idk about any other fan but I want playoffs. Not probowls.

    Pass

  5. tmaxcon Says:

joe you need to raise your standards…. The face of the Basement years has never won a single meaningful game in ish 8 years of quitting on coaches and disappearing when it matters most. You clearly need a drug test or a psychological evaluation if you think a quitter and soft arse career loser deserves accolades like beast and stud.

gmc is a doll playing soft career loser nothing more

  6. America's Groper Says:

I wonder how much those stats were padded by losing teams like the Fins and the Jets. Seen many of ttime1 OL from the opposition push him aside to open the running lane

  7. Bird Says:

    Haters gonna hate

    And players are gonna play

So funny that he is the problem with the Bucs for most fans. Gets doubled every play yet the 3 other dline man around him can’t win one on one matche ups. Sad. So sad.

  8. Pickgrin Says:

Stud DT. Glad he’s on our team. tmax is a moron.

  9. Tampabaybucfanr Says:

Expecting one Dlineman to “win” a game is absurd.
    s
I guess ignorant “fans” need someone to blame now that Steve Spurrier & Michael Clayton are no longer playing.

I think expectations are high for GMC because of his money & draft pick….but the blame for losing falls squarely on the shoulders of Mark Dominick. Think of all the losers who are no longer with the team….but it’s hard to pick on them.
And, if Licht doesn’t turn around soon….he will join Dominick.
eIf you think trading GMC is the answer it’s because you think we will get something meaningful for him……why would we if he is as $hitty as you think he is. That makes no sense.

  10. Lamarcus Says:

I’m not hating it’s the truth

How could gmc have 2 good games in 10 games and all of sudden he is all-pro? ??

I like and follow mcdonald 98 cuz he knows what it takes to win a playoff game and he has a sb ring. Winner!!! Definitely in a age where players are defined by RINGS

    Gmc = Jason Taylor lol

  11. Lamarcus Says:

Jason Taylor without the playoff games to speak of.

  12. mattj1621 Says:

Lamarcus, you make 0 sense. He’s not chasing pro bowls because he’s getting sacks and quarterback hits. That’s what he has to do to get the Bucs another ring.

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    tmaxcon Says
“The face of the Basement years has never won a single meaningful game in ish 8 years…”

First off, its a team sport, and you know it.

Secondly, there have been meaningful wins over that period. They may not have made the playoffs, but they have had meaningful games and won them.

And thirdly, you are no real authority on McCoy becaue all you ever, or will ever, do is hate on him. He could get 11 sacks this year, the Bucs could somehow make the playoffs, and you would STILL hate on McCoy…and claim he had nothing to do with it.

I don’t know if you are a racist, an idiot or if he did something like sleep with your sister in the past, but he will never measure up in your eyes. And as a result? You will never measure up in the eyes of most of us because of your bias.

  14. SB Says:

Lol so despite being double teamed almost every snap he still…….
Leads the NFL in QB hits
Tied for the lead in TFL
and is Third in the NFL in sacks and he sucks………………..

Yeah, some of you need to follow professional knitting or something.

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Lamarcus Says
“I like and follow mcdonald 98 cuz he knows what it takes to win a playoff game and he has a sb ring. Winner!!!”

And how much did he actually play in the Superbowl game? Hmmn?

  16. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    2 good games!? Lmao

  17. Mike in LOL Says:

@Lamarcus – for you to believe McDonald is any good and think GMC sucks means you must be blind, stupid or both. They aren’t even in the same league, GMC is a top tier NFL talent and one of the best in his position in the league for many years in a row. McDonald by comparison is a pretty good pop warner player.

The GMC hate is the most blindly misdirected junk I’ve ever seen. One dlineman is never going to win a team a SB so to think that is what makes McDonald better than GMC is pure ignorance. GTFOH

  18. Lamarcus Says:

Gmc only play good against “weaker cupcake” teams anyway. The bigger the game…..gmc disapeasr from the face of the planet. No one says NOTHING. He plays the quitting dolphins have a decent game for once or twice and now HE IS ALL PRO? Come on man full of Thanksgiving food or sh……..

  19. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Agree Joe GMC deserves whatever comes his way.

The guy who seems to only get props from the guys who play with him and his coaches and our fans…but not much national attention is Brent Grimes.

This year he’s gets nothing nationally because of the Buc’s record and the number of games he missed injured.

But Rick Stroud made a compelling point yesterday that Grimes is this teams MVP. When he played this year the Bucs were 4-3…when he was out injured the Bucs were a winless 0-3. Causation or mere coincidence? I’m with Stroud I don’t believe it was simple coincidence.

I can see why Miko gets so upset!!! Grimes 19 ints the past five years are second only to Richard Sherman’s 20. Sherman earns 14 million a year….Grimes gets just 6.5 million less than half. I’m not saying Grimes is Sherman’s equal…I think Sherman brings more physicality…I AM saying he’s better than just half of Sherman.

If we sign him next year I’m with Miko….PAY THE MAN!!!

  20. Joseph Mamma Says:

Absolutely an All-Pro Year. For Adrian Claybourn.

  21. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @tmax

I’ve always liked you but I’m starting to feel pity for you. Dislike GMC all you want but your posts are coming across as moronic. There is NO ONE player in this league who is totally responsible for his team’s success or failure!!!

Not even Brady or Aaron Rodgers who come close…but NO ONE player is responsible for the results of 52 other players and a dozen coaches. It’s just stupid Tmax.

Furthermore your own charges are mindless. You think you throw GMC under the bus by claiming his “soft” attitude is responsible for our bad records because the team then reflects it and becomes soft.

But think about it TMAX. You are throwing EVERY freaking Buc who has played during our bad seasons under the bus including LVD and all the rest.

I don’t want a single player on this team who would be so weak minded as to let the attitude of another single player somehow determine his success or failure.

Even if you were right and GMC infected this entire team…then you need to trade the entire freaking squad for being so weak minded that they let ONE player…and a DT not a QB at that…infect them and turn them into losers.

If that happened TMAX they were already ALL losers!!!!

  22. Lamarcus Says:

Gmc has not had a year. He had a good week or 2. He is all pro for that ok……

Gmc doesn’t get doubled. He easily move to the pile and yall fan boys make excuses by saying he is doubled. No he is tripled. No no that time he quadrupled. NO he pushed ASIDE to the pocket and his gap is wide open for big gains.

    Gmc is wayyyyyyy overated.

  23. Bobby Says:

Sure, Claybourn has 6 sacks in 1 game and he’s All-Pro. Geez. This site has an inordinate amount of stupid posts.

  24. Mike in LOL Says:

Lamarcus, you think that your silly opinion and the opinion of this site’s biggest troll tmax outweighs the opinions of nearly every fan, player, Coach and commentator?

Naw bro, your ish is whack. I’ll take a little of whatever you’re smoking

  25. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    Mike

OK you can have some of what Lamarcus is smoking but you must share!!!

And don’t Bogarde that joint my friend. LOL

  26. Lamarcus Says:

    Lol.

U don’t need to be a crackhead to realize gmc is overrated. McDonald is way better!!!

  27. not there yet Says:

Not bad numbers but pro bowl is all about the stats so is GMC but that’s not bad at all especially for a guy who sucks at playing the run. I’d run him out of town for a switch to a 3-4 with the return of Noah Spence. What’s more likely, we improve by finding two stud defensive ends and running back in next year’s draft or drafting a big hog in the middle and letting our linebackers run wild. Which option would pay immediately dividends with or without GMC?

  28. tmaxcon Says:

the bottom line is the dude has never won a meaningful game, quits on coaches, and has Captained more blowouts than any team captain in bucs history which says a lot since all the franchise does is lose. you guys can cry all you want but the only thing that matters is win losses. you guys pound your chest when the guy does his job 2 or three games a year but when it matters most he never ever has came through. i could give a rats arse what anyone thinks the bottom line is the dude is a soft career loser that does not have the drive or desire to truly be great. what you call good character is actually bad character…. do you want your kids growing up knowing it’s OK not to do your best each and every play. or that it’s ok to quit on coaches if you don’t like the message. you people are clueless and soft. the only thing that matters is on field results…. nothing else matters and the results that have been produced under gmc’s tenure as team captain, face of the franchise and highest paid player are laughable at best and definitely sad. you keep cheering for the smile I’ll keep hoping for a winner. i’ll give you low standard buc fans credit though you finally have stopped with the he is a leader crap… make fun of 3’s eating w’s all you want but that pregame speech gmc the clown gave is only good for curing viagra overdoses.

  29. Bucsfan951 Says:

The level of stupidity on this site is truly funny. I seriously get a good laugh reading tmaxipad and lamarcus’ posts. Two dudes who have zero qualifications as nfl analysts. I bet they don’t even watch every game on tv!

  30. tmaxcon Says:

gmc should offer his speaking services to Hollyweird maybe it will help with the sexual harassment FAD.. nothing stops sexual aggression like a gmc pre game speech.

  31. Buccaneer scotty Says:

[And, that will get you run. — Joe]

  32. Lamarcus Says:

    Tmaxcon

Ur right man. Jw eating Ws gives me a better message that a winner is on the team than ANY THING GMC HAS TO SAY ABOUT WINNING. Period

    Other losing culture news:

Let another Ayers get credit for his sacks and then we have problem all hell breaks lose. We get blown out embarrassing fashion and we are just ‘FLAT” ????

YALL GMC FANBOYS ARE FUNNY AS HELL.

  33. Lamarcus Says:

    Tmaxcon

    I’m dying right now. 🙂

    Blahahaa

  34. tmaxcon Says:

another thing you low standard folks led by JOE….. it was the damn dolphins with a crap oline and a 3rd string qb… wow just laughable…

where was he against dallas last year; i’ll remind you he was used like a prison transvestite. where was your superhero several times this year when the defense came out flat and quit… a true mark of a great player is making players around you better which gmc does not. you fools have selective memory. glad it works for you living in fantasy islands basement… if it was an important game little Tattoo (rip) would man handle your little girl all game long.

  35. Lamarcus Says:

    Tmaxcon

What’s funny he wasnt getting his stats and he went throwing his coach under bus. Now he gets sacks and yes gmc is all pro???
    Gtfoh.

  36. tmaxcon Says:

what adrian slowburn did with 6 sacks is a dominant beastly performance. sorry realist… i know that’s your guy

gmc has never ever had a game like slowburn.

  37. Ray Rice Says:

LMFAO… Aunt Geraldine has one ok game and you are all on the nuts. Pathetic.

  38. tmaxcon Says:

too many buc fans confuse popularity and smiles with greatness. lol hilarious.

  39. SB Says:

tmax…..you are WithOut a doubt the Dumbest football fan I have ever met in ANY fanbase. That is saying a great deal too. I stopped reading anything you post about a year ago but I had to do it today just to get a laugh. My wife knows ten times what you know about football. Carry on though as I’m sure you will.

  40. Lamarcus Says:

Warren Sapp: “Listen, I was watching Gerald McCoy reach down and help the running back up and help the lineman up. I was like, I almost threw up.”

    Lol

  41. bucs_365 Says:

tmax clearly has a little sand in his vag!na and he’s blaming Gerald.

  42. SB Says:

    ^^^^ Lol……..http://media.fyre.co/EtpfcmBSRn6NYMYOUKt7_sandyvag.jpg
Sorry Joe but it had to be done

  43. Bob in Valrico Says:

Tmax does a remarkable job of not letting the facts confuse him from his talking points. Distract and change the narrative.,thats the ticket for Tmax.
10 Tackles for a loss means GMC has been heavily involved in stopping the run.
Only Dt that has matched in this category is Grady Jarrettt who is 4.5 sacks
behind the current sackleader for DT’s,who also happens to be Gmc.

  44. DB55 Says:

    🍦

  45. DB55 Says:

    SB

That’s the most realistic caricature of GMC I’ve ever seen. Nice find!

  46. FortMyersDave Says:

Man, I understand the pessimistic Buc fan: the fan who thinks the Bucs are going to find a way to 4-12 or 5-11 this year: bad but probably picking out of the top 6 in the draft thus missing out on the top “can’t miss” players all Buc fans are eyeing in the 2018 draft though when the Buc get a pick in the top 6 or 7 it does not always work out well (Bo Jackson, Broderick Thomas, Gaines Adams, Charles McRae, Keith McCants, Vinny T,etc…..). Much of this can be blamed on Hugh Culverhouse but the stigma sticks and the revolving coaching door and drafts like the 2016 one help perpetuate it…. So yeah I get being down on the organization but still somehow hoping the team will find success…

What I do not get is poster like this Tmax/Lamarcus. Not sure why he/they are always interjecting their hate for GMC into every thread that pops up on JBF. Its almost like clockwork. JBF puts up a post on anything concerning the Buc and sure enough; it somehow gets twisted into a hate GMC post….

Look, Gerald is simply not the charismatic leader that many wished he would be when he came out of Norman and is not another Sapp or LeRoy Selmon (but I doubt there will ever be another #63 on or off the field). Yet Joe is right the guy is having a solid season and looks to be a team player, toughing out injury and is not the reason why this defense is struggling. Then you have the haters saying that GMC simply pads his stats vs bad teams, well isn’t that true for a leaders in every offensive and defensive category? Players do well against the bottom feeders of the world and not so well against the elite teams, not just GMC. Heck we complain about how other players run up the numbers on the Buc secondary. Thus this pad the stat argument is just another reach by haters……

Anyhow, hope the Bucs somehow get the W in the ATL, catching the ATL a bit flat after a MNF game vs a beat up Seahawk team that probably did more to lose on Monday than the ATL did to win as Seattle gave away the W via poor coaching and play calling. Have a great Thanksgiving weekend JBF and Bucs fans….

  47. Bob in Valrico Says:

    @DB
There are times I trust Stevies Wonder’s vision more than yours.

  48. Buc believer Says:

The great “stats” GMC puts up along with 8 bucks will buy you a beer at Ray Jay.

  49. Reach87 Says:

Once again Tmax comes thru with his moronic posts. Zero credibility, football knowledge or understanding of team principles or leadership. Same moronic venue every post. Happy Holidays. Moron. Go Bucs!

  50. DoNUTS Says:

I know these 2 things are fact:

IF tmax or Lamar ever got to meet #93 in person, they would be total Pusses and not say squat like they do in here behind their computers. They would be first in line for his autograph and fawn over him like a bunch of princesses.

Second, my 7 year old – who just started watching football this year – knows more than you 2 ass clowns.

Go Bucs! GMC is a winner and good person whether u like it or not.

  51. DoNUTS Says:

Nice post Fort Myers Dave… you said it more eloquently than I could.

  52. Capt.Tim Says:

I feel so bad for Tmaxipad, db(IQ)55,and lamuncher.
To love someone so much. And to have them reject your advances.
McCoy is never gonna like you guys”that way”. Instead of feeling bitter and rejected- the 3 of you should just move on.
This ongoing pouting is really annoying the rest of us.
Try Kaepernick- I bet he would appreciate being your love interest!

    Angry crush boys aside,
McCoy will garner even more accolades this season- all deservedly on his way to Canton.

And for those who dont remember- McCoy is alot like LeeRoy Selmon- Personality wise.
Both were dominant, great players, Greater men.
And both lead thru their actions. Neither are rah-rah type people
Main difference is LeeRoy was a DE in a 3-4
McCoy would be a great DE in a 3-4.
