DeSean Jackson speaks

Joe was very pleased to see and hear a team-first DeSean Jackson speaking at his locker following the Bucs’ kick-in-the-groin loss to the Patriots last night.

Despite America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, continuing to overthrow Jackson, including when he was wide open for a home run touchdown strike down the right sideline tonight, Jackson didn’t throw a fit.

He’s not happy about it, but he’s not a pouting diva.

And frankly, all the fuss about Jacskson getting upset after a bad Jameis throw on a two-point conversion against the Giants on Sunday was overblown.

Joe would much prefer guys who care about their performances than the alternative. Jackson finished with five catches for 106 yards on nine targets.

Listen to some of Jackson’s takes below.

Jackson was also seen consoling Folk after his 3rd miss, hardly the actions of diva.

  2. dexterOHMAN Says:

trade jameis this year and take a qb in the draft. goff, wentz, watson all outplaying winston not to mention mariota. the browns rookie deshone kiser would be a better option. fitzmagic is still backing up which blows me away, he should be pushing jameis for starter

  3. Grt2 Says:

Dexter are you serious… joe block this guy please
You think this is Jameis fault
    Brate dropping everything
Folk can’t hit the ocean on a boat
    Dexter go away

  4. HarlemBuc Says:

Yo Dexter, do me a favor bro… kick F’n rocks… who the F are you even? I’m tired of all these mfers who only comment after a loss… trade Jameis?! Then right after I know a nice bridge in Brooklyn you can dive off

  5. HarlemBuc Says:

My bad Joe… but we need to clean house of all the b!tcha$$ness in this fan base… it’s disgusting
Bar full of Giants and Jets and Pats fans and got respect from all of em… then hear these no nuts talking about trade Jameis for a prospect?

  6. dexterOHMAN Says:

in my opinion hes getting outplayed by most 3rd to 1st year QBs. sure folk is not a good kicker at all the worst in the league most likely but d jax was wide open-miss doug for a first down-miss and those are only two in a game filled with miss fires. i liked jameis but i mean its his 3rd year, he gets goood time in the pocket and has weapons. 14 points is just disheartening. Harlem hit me up w/ the addy of the bridge ill pull up

  7. Idahobucsfan1145543 Says:

@harlembuc how many years are we going to stand for mediocre play by jw3 im tired of keeping quiet when will we have a change and not be embarrassed on prime time games or any game for that matter im sick of sticking up for winston when he plays like piss…

  8. LifeOfABucFan Says:

You all have to be careful in these parts..it’s Seminole country…of course Jameis can’t do anything wrong..

I love Jameis..but he’s got to step it up NOW..it’s his 3rd year and his accuracy is in question..Heck he even said that himself!

Not trade for him..not yet..but something has to be done..those wild passes, under pass, over-pass..when he throws deep, I literally turn around..can’t watch..

  9. Capt.Tim Says:

Desean didnt sound at all like a Diva.
I apologize if Ive misjudged him.

Hopefully, He and Jameis get some timing going- and we hit those long throws.

  10. HarlemBuc Says:

Idaho… wassup man, never talked to anyone from there… I know Jameis has been sloppy this year. But we gotta get behind him… this team is a couple near misses and about 3 impact guys away from being a serious contender
We are almost there. I know we lost tonight but we came seen close

  11. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“trade jameis this year and take a qb in the draft. goff, wentz, watson all outplaying winston not to mention mariota.”

It’s really hard to take people serious when they are this stupid.

@Dexter… yeah bro soooooo the Brooklyn bridge don’t really have an address…

  14. HarlemBuc Says:

Literally millions of people “pull up” to it a day… ain’t that the point of a F’n bridge🤔🤔🤔🤔
    Cmon dude smarten up

  15. firethecannons Says:

folk lost us 9 points along with loss of momentum after every missed kick, koetter needs to get a better play caller

  16. Nole4JabooANDdBucs Says:

    What Hawaiia Buc said…

NOTE TO ALL NON-TROLLS AND ACTUAL BUCS FANS:

Do NOT waste your time replying to trolls like DexterOhMan … they aren’t serious and if they actually are serious, they are obviously mentally-impaired and need meds just to get through the day … just let them waste their own time with their idiotic posts and when they see that no one ever responds they will disappear I believe.

Anyways … solid game all-around … had the champs beat if not for Folk … no team in the NFC is “obviously better” than we are, so we have a legit shot at winning the NFC this year which is way ahead of schedule as far as I’m concerned

  18. Mike Johnson Says:

SO much for the loss to the …”Suddendly found our Defense against Tampa Bay”.. Patriots. Its done..Over. We’d better be ready for the no nonsense Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals up next. Because you see my fellow Buckaroos, The AZ Cards have a coach like Bellacheat..who makes in games adjustments and finds creative ways to win..unlike Our vaulted Mr Koetter. So ruck up Bucs. Better be ready!

  19. darin Says:

Great job Smitty. Bad job Dirk. Not sure why dirk isnt calling different plays against certain teams. The patsies gave them the same look most of the night. They finally, after 3 plus games, run a slant. Djax takes it about 50. Last week they finally ran a draw, that one only went for 36. A few draw plays against patsies would have worked and that slant was there all night, not just that once in the 4th quarter. Cmon dirk. That was a terrible game plan. Yep its time for folk to go but he sure wasnt the only one who bombed that game. Wasted a great defensive effort. Go Bucs

  20. danr Says:

I have been here a while and I will say this. If Jameis does not get control of whatever causes him to ignore his fundamentals (and lose all accuracy)in the first half of games, excitement, nakedness, whatever You want to call it… it will continuously stunt ant ability for this team to build any offensive rhythm, win TOP or ever be a legitimate contender. If this keeps up he will be good enough for us to imagine the potential for years….just good enough and charismatic enough to keep us from ever making the move to a better QB.

  21. danr Says:

Yes i know he has games where he comes out hot. That makes nights like tonight and against the rams so frustrating… and needless.

  22. danr Says:

*wow not nakedness i typed amped-ness

  23. mixxx31 Says:

Dexter, you are a popcorn fart.

  24. RayJameisStadium Says:

The Jameis to Jackson connection will take us to the Super Bowl. We will not depend on Folk after that. Patience. Is coming.

  25. Long Season Says:

    Folk must go.

  26. Go for the face Says:

What terrible losing mentality you guys have. This was nothing short of a disgusting embarassment on offense against an awful defense. Spare me the victimization, weak ass excuse of “wellll if Nick Folk made his kicks!” That was only part of the problem of a vomit inducing performance. Biggest game in years Bucs players say. That’s so cute and adorable. Yeah thanks for your participation, how very Bucs of you to take a huge shi in front of a national audience. Jameis is so inaccurate it’s appaling. Dirks incredibly vanilla offense. And you guys wonder no one wants to watch this team or go to games? Keep being in denial then. Take your L, your upcoming 8-8 season and just be happy with your participation trophy

  27. Doolnutts Says:

Why are so many people shocked when someone calls out Winston?? The dude can’t miss these major throws period. It isn’t just this game… he consistently misses major throws game after game and tonight with desean deep and Martin on 3rd and 3 it was more of the same.

This is his 3rd year and if you actually look around the league and take off those FSU blinders you will see other 3rd year, 2nd year and 1rst year qbs are out playing Winston by a large margin.

Tony Romo said it all game… this is the year he needs to take the leap and if he doesn’t take that leap hitting wide open receivers and stopping those damn over throws we need to be prepared to weigh options and it is really that simple.

  28. HunterBucsFan Says:

JOE – Can you please block DexterOhFOOL?! It is Bucs fans like this that draw the ire of Gerald McCoy’s of the world. If we want to keep our franchise players we need to respect their talent and efforts. Go find another team to speak ruining ramblings of. #TeamJameis

  29. Jonzey17 Says:

Winston did good he threw for over 300 yards and we had a lot of drops. We should have won that game easy but we missed 3 field goals. We need a good kicker bad.

  30. PistolPete Says:

I’m sure it’s been said but the drive in the second period where we gashed them…..and then we ABANDONED THE RUN GAME.
Above and beyond the missed kicks and the drops and the inaccuracy….the fact that we threw on nearly every down made me insane.

  31. JB Says:

Bad offensive play calls, terrible kicking, and a QB that seems to be regressing with more quality playmakers on offense than ¾ of the league. Yet if you criticize Winston, you’re deemed a moron by most here. This team and its fans deserve what we received from Jameis, Folk & Koetter last night. Hate to bring politics into this, but I have a feeling if you polled all those defending Winston’s rather pathetic play last night, you’ll find that 99% of them will tell you what a terrific job their POTUS is doing. lmao.

  32. Bucsalltheway Says:

I think aguayo was the better man in that kicking competition….bring him back at least his misses wasn’t super ugly

  33. CitruscountyBUC Says:

Dexter doesn’t know his @$$ hole from his elbow. Jameis is first QB in NFL history to pass for 4,000 yards in each of his first 2 seasons. Rodgers got to sit and learn from Fabre for a few years. The kid is 24…give him a bit of a break.

  34. The Anomaly Says:

Jameis was obviously forcing the ball to Desean. Not good. I don’t think this was a good fit for us.

  35. Fozybear46 Says:

Well as a real Bucs from since 1978 I have lived thru some of the worst years any NFL team could go thru, but I have seen some real talent the Bucs have gotten thru the draft. HOWEVER I am starting to question Mike Smith, how can you not make adjustments at half time? Pats ran the same play 4 times shallow slant, play too soft of a zone, poorly timed blitz. No double or bracketed coverage. Everything can not be the Offense fault, the Pats walked down the field most of the second half, our front 4 keep us in the game. But that secondary really lost war on the field. Folks should be put on waivers, but who will you get? that is the issue …there are no kickers in FA that is even close to Folks so we are stuck with Folks. But Please fix the secondary…Cards have a lot more speed in the WR then the Pats and we got our butts kicked! – Fozy out…wanka wanka wanka

  36. grafikdetail Says:

jackson is just a competitor… few years ago i saw him storm out after a rapper he was sponsoring lost a battle LOL dude just doesn’t like to lose… rather have a sore loser over a happy loser

  37. grafikdetail Says:

Idahobucsfan1145543 is really mediocre play calling, stubborn stick to my scheme like lovie, basic vanilla 1983 joe gibbs offense having dirk koetter LOL

  38. SOEbuc Says:

I don’t understand why it has to be a connection deep down the sideline. Let him run the fifteen yard post and run for 40 yards like last night. One more yard ahead of those guys and that would’ve a 60 yard TD. I think those numbers are right.

  39. mike10 Says:

Wow, after close video study I realized something I hadn’t seen before, DJax cut off the cornrows !

  40. g720 Says:

One day Koetter will learn that JW can’t throw a deep pass and will learn to let him throw slant passes over the middle and let the receiver run after the catch. One problem with that is that JW doesn’t know how to lead a receiver with his throw and they constantly have to stop or reach back for the ball and get tackled since he is so inaccurate with his passes.

  41. Jimmy T Says:

Marriotta? Keizer? Dexter I want what u r smoking!! Mariotta is never healthy and when he got hurt they weee down 30-14, Kizer is horrible because he is a rookie. I have no idea what u r looking for but u r insane if u want another QB here. I know it pains u but barring injury Jameis will be a Buc for 15 yrs at a minimum.
