8 Jameis Winston Football Realities

October 6th, 2017

Joe’s A-list photo team capturing Jameis Winston as he enters the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway yesterday evening.

Man, the Jameis Winston freakout is overcoming far too many Bucs fans this morning. There have been no calls for benched-by-the Bears Mike Glennon yet, but it’s feeling inevitable.

For the frenzied, frantic and foolish Jameis haters emerging after last night, here are eight things you should soak in about America’s Quarterback:

*There is a chemistry/timing issue between Jameis and DeSean Jackson. But why are so many hanging that on Jameis? Hey, Jameis was at every single spring practice; Jackson was not. It’s a two-way street and understandable considering Jackson’s speed is like nothing Jameis has ever worked with at the professional level. So Jameis looks a little tentative at time throwing to Jackson, but he has great chemistry with other pass catchers. It will come.

*Jameis is 23 years old with 36 career starts. Drew Brees is a Hall of Famer. Matt Ryan is in his 10th season coming off an MVP award and a Super Bowl appearance. Cam Newton has accomplished as much as Ryan has, and has over 100 career starts. Jameis deserves your patience and has earned it through his work ethic and overall body of work.

*Jameis is better than Marcus Mariota and more durable. And Jameis certainly was a better leadership choice for this franchise.

*Yes, it’s rare that No. 3 has a razor-sharp start to games. Bucs offensive totals in first quarters are bad since Jameis has taken over. That absolutely has to end, but Joe must drop some of that on Koetter not adjusting to Jameis’ abilities or inabilities. Koetter must do more to play to Jameis’ strengths early.

*On that note, the playcalling is not doing Jameis a world of favors. That short catch and explosion by Jackson in the fourth quarter last night? Where was that hiding? And what the heck is the steady allergy to throwing deep shots to Mike Evans, 50-50 balls he’s going to turn into 75-25 balls. We can all see that Jameis has a lot of success playing up-tempo. Well? There have been great NFL offenses that have utilized that often through the years. And the Bucs certainly have the horses to do play fast. Jameis’ misfires aren’t on Koetter, but there are two guys on the steering wheel of the offense.

*This year, Jameis has cut the interceptions (three out of four games with no picks) and has done well protecting the football and has eaten fewer needless sacks. That’s development. And some of that glory goes to the coaching staff.

*Nearly everyone associated with the franchise will tell you Jameis’ presence has led the charge in transforming the mentality and culture of the team. That should mean a lot, especially considering where this franchise has been since the midseason collapse of 2011. Heck, the Bucs haven’t had two or more wins in their opening four games since 2011.

*Jameis would be the first to tell a fan or anyone to judge him on the team’s record and postseason status at the end of the year. It’s all about “Ws” for Jameis, and Joe thinks it’s completely fair to judge him that way this season, given the cast around him and his experience.  The “great” quarterbacks are only great because they win. Take a deep breath and give Jameis a break. He’s not on the Bucs’ list of problems.

But you’ll still hear needless complaining from some of our “fans”. The mariota crowd can just shut up as he’s injured again. As for the game last night, that play calling was horrendous. We also had 4-5 drops that I can think of off he top of my head. Hell brate had three himself, one thatwvas a touchdown. All the Jameis haters need t go find another team, he’s not going anywhere. Did he okay great last night? No not until the 4th when koetter finally switched things up. Jameis’ stats are up acrossed the board. I don’t see New England fans bitching about the 4 or 5 throws brady threw terribly last night. Fan base is such fair weather fans

  2. Idahobucsfan1145543 Says:

Just bring in competition at qb folk doesnt get a pass winston shouldn’t either koetter needs to stop calling the plays as well everyone saying if folk didn’t miss different game how about if winston didn’t miss ? We should be getting tds not choking for 3 downs when we need a score. Tired of seeing it and I want this team to win but with winston playing like that we won’t win many games.

  3. Gencoimports Says:

The offensive game plan was terrible and Tony Romo called it before the game started – Belicheat played Koetter the same way he played the similar-styled offense under Joe Gibbs when he was D.C. of the Giants: play more zone and take away the big plays. The Bucs offense is designed too much off of play action for deep passes and not enough to pick at the defense underneath. We should have seen more screen passes and pick plays early. More checkdowns. I would have loved to see Jameis use Sims and Humphries the same way Brady was using White and Danny Amedola (so) but it didn’t really happen until it was too late. I blame our coaching and game plan more than I blame our QB.

  4. buc15 Says:

Winston is human & will have some bad days, or is that not allowed? He did start off rough but the play calling was just as bad.

  5. NutterBuccer Says:

Winston had 9 intlast year at this point and 8 in 2015 at this point. Plus his completion percentage has gone up. Does he still need work, yes. But right now it’s on the play calling and the kicking. Good news is we got Martin back, alexander and David shoukd play next week, and were 2-2 And getting healthier.

  6. NFLNut Says:

    ******************

Jameis is the greatest and most accomplished 23 year old QB in the history of football.

At his current age, Tom Brady had 6 (as in “six”) CAREER passing yards … Jameis just went over the 9,000 (as in “NINE THOUSAND”) last night

People need to thank God for Jameis and R-E-L-A-X

    ******************

  7. mark2001 Says:

Agree with most of it Joe…. but he is forcing the ball and missing open receivers, overthrowing open receivers doing poorly particularly in completing throws on third downs. That is hurting us, not killing us. But if doesn’t stop, it will kill any hope for the playoffs.

  8. DB55 Says:

Those complaining simply don’t know Jameis. They marvel at the first qrt heroics of Mr. McCoy yet ignore his 4th qrt play while at the same time criticizing Winston’s 4th qrt heroics. It wasn’t just Jameis, Brate of all people was dropping mad passes.

  9. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Yes, the game plan was garbage. I really think Dirk needs to give up play calling.

  10. Stud Says:

When do the excuses stop? Last season it was he had no weapons, he now has weapons and is overthrowing open guys, throwing behind receivers and continues to throw into double coverage when he locks onto one receiver.

I rarely see him audible or change things up at the line of scrimmage. Don’t let the stats fool you, his awful throws on 3rd down killed any chance the Bucs had at winning.

  11. Buc1987 Says:

All off season peeps looked at the schedule and said stuff like : Oh boy we could easily start this season 1-4.

The Bucs are 2-2 with LOTS of games left to be played against lesser teams than the Pat’s. I know it’s the day after. Calm down.

Is Folk gone yet? FG’s are a big part of a game. When an offense stalls and they, the offense with Jameis, put the kicker in range. The kicks need to be made, or dayum at least be close. Kyle Brindza anyone? Yeah why not?

When I start worrying about JW. Then you know there’s a problem.

    Go Bucs!

  12. LargoBuc Says:

I hate the pro Mariota crowd. They talk about Jameis like he is just some scrub and they are smug about it too.

  13. JB Says:

Jameis, the Bucs and the local sports media need to understand why there are so many disgruntled Buc fans out here. We’ve been swallowing gallons of the kool-aid they’ve been pushing on us since we drafted Jameis. Last nights performance had many of us wondering if that kool-aid isn’t the same we used to see @ Grateful Dead concerts back in the 60’s. All we heard ALL off season was what a high powered offense we were gonna have this season. Where is it? I blame the local media and the Bucs front office for most of this. But we need to quit accepting the crap sandwich offense we keep seeing! Will the offense improve? I believe it will, because I shudder to think about what excuses we’ll be seeing if it doesn’t. This team easily has a lot of playoff worthy talent, but we aren’t seeing all that much of it right now, and besides the kicking game most all the blame lay at the feet of Jameis and Dirk.

  14. Stud Says:

Let’s stop with the age thing, it’s not impressive. He left college after 2 years playing because, he red shirted his first year. Brady, and other QB’s played 3 or 4 years in college.

If I work at a job and make the same mistakes I did in year 3 that I did in Year 1, I’m gonna get let go. Jameis is not making that next step 3rd year QB’s need to make.

  15. go for the face30 Says:

“I don’t see New England fans bitching about the 4 or 5 throws brady threw terribly last night.” – Thank you sooo much for the stellar false equivalency. I think after about 18 super rings and shi Brady deserves the benefit of the doubt JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE.

You know who else looks terrible for 3 quarters and “picks it up” in the 4th? Blake Bortles, and every other mediocre to bad quarterback. But thats cool, enjoy your participation ribbon.

  16. DB55 Says:

I keep telling ya Jameis is NOT Koetters qb. Koetter likes pocket qbs and Jameis does his best work outside the pocket. Jameis doesn’t throw 40-50 attempts he throw 28-35 in desperation time. Koetter wants Matty ice back and can’t bring himself to change his old tattered playbook. But wtf do I know?

  17. DB55 Says:

Time to call Jimbo Fischer or even better BRING CHUCKY BACK!!!!(oc)

  18. Stud Says:

Prior to the draft we were told Jameis had a high football IQ and was the most pro ready QB since Andrew Luck. If he was so Pro ready why are we still making excuses for him 36 games in?

Why is it that the local media are scared to criticize an erratic and inconsistent QB?

  19. mark2001 Says:

So DB…would you rather McCoy “pace himself”, have us down two or three TD, and put all the weight on Jameis shoulders to make every pass perfectly to bring us back? And BTW, when Jameis is in that situation, INT’s seem to be just around the corner (not unusual for most QB’s in that situation). This loss is on the Offense and ST….period. And if Jameis is concentrating on one or two receivers and forcing the ball, that isn’t play calling…he just isn’t seeing the other open guys the D is giving up.

  20. Cgmaster27 Says:

Stud- SO the three missed kicks had nothing to do with I a losing? Or the 5 drops? Or the dropped td pass by Brate? I know people like you pin it on Jameis no matter what. No excuses for for him he missed some throws, but so did Brady. some of you are just waiting now bitch about him after every throw. You were all invisible after last weeks game.

  21. D-Rome Says:

Did you guys see that amazing throw to Cameron Brate? Jameis has his flaws but there are only a handful of QBs in the NFL that could make that pass. He’ll be fine.

  22. stavi Says:

    Joe,

For the record, I am not a Jameis hater. I wanted Jameis in 2015 and love everything he brings to this organization. However, through 4 games this year I just haven’t seen the progression that many of us were hoping for. Maybe some of it is Koetter’s fault, or maybe we’ve just seen what Jameis is going to be. Through their first 36 starts, Jameis has numbers that are slightly better than Josh Freeman’s, and if you compare the weapons/coaching of each, that isn’t saying that much (and Jameis was the #1 overall pick!).

    Freeman: 701/1171 (59.9%), 8005yds, 47td – 40int, 82.2 rtg. (17-19 record)
    Winston: 751/1256 (59.8%), 9330yds, 57td – 36int, 86 rtg. (17-19 record)

People were talking about Jameis being a dark horse MVP candidate this year and that he was supposed to make that big jump, but he has consistently shown us that he is inconsistently a good QB (hope that makes sense). It’s still early in the year and I hope Jameis has the year that we are all hoping for, but he needs to play better. His pregame speeches are going to fall on deaf ears if he can’t deliver during the game. That would be like Nick Folk trying to get everyone fired up!

  23. mark2001 Says:

Call Jimbo…you must be kidding….Chucky…I thought he was a great coach, but he isn’t coming back.

  24. Buc1987 Says:

“Stud- SO the three missed kicks had nothing to do with I a losing? Or the 5 drops? Or the dropped td pass by Brate?”

If none of this happens, no one says a peep about JW.

  25. Maze Says:

I can only imagine some of the morons you have to deal with on Twitter, just look at some of the comments around here

  26. mark2001 Says:

D-Rome…he did have a handful of great passes…out of what? 46 attempts? Frankly, at this time I’d take a little more Brad Johnson consistency, and a little less pure arm talent.

  27. Buc1987 Says:

Stud…it’s a 16 game season. Let’s talk in week 17 or perhaps even week 18.

  28. Loyalbuc96 Says:

Jameis did not lose us this game. He played just good enough to win. Did he help us win the game with his play? NO. If folk made one more of his missed field goals we would not be trying to force a touchdown with 3 seconds left and instead trying for a field goal.Winston is going to have games like this where he doesn’t make those around him better and that’s ok. No QB is going to be perfect all the time.

  29. AlteredEgo Says:

“Jameis is the greatest and most accomplished 23 year old QB in the history of football.”
    different game now….rules favor passing

  30. German Buc Says:

I consider myself as Jameis’ biggest fan this side of the ocean. Maybe he’s sloppy, but he gives us a shot to win games and he gave us a shot to win this game. I appreciate that.

But what was that last play?
If he throws a 50-50 jump ball to Mike (75-25 as you quote it, Joe) I am fine – no matter the ball is complete or not, just going with the percentages. Hump and Brate were open, a throw to one of these two and I am just as fine, no matter which outcome. But instead, he throws the ball in OJ’s back – with OJ not even expecting to be the target! That is giving me a heart attack.

So please Jameis, show us (once again) you are able to bounce back. AZ is the place to do so, take the ruins of this game and rise like a Phoenix.

  31. Conte Piscateli Says:

The issue with Desean and chemistry is frustrating because they want that deep ball so bad they keep forcing it. As we saw last night Desean is equally explosive with the ball in his hands on short routes. Get the guy the ball early on easy throws and watch defenses worry. Stop trying to force the deep ball is not Jameis’s strength. Square peg, circle hole again

  32. Poor Glennon Says:

I have 0 confidence in this guy. To be consistent enough to get us to the playoffs. Let alone win a playoff game! If i was coaching the opposition. I’d get him moving in the pocket. When he stands in there he’s better. He looks like the tin man when he gets moving. And will throw with bad footwork. His deepball is atrocious as well.

  33. chipbuc Says:

Hey stud where are you after wins. Winston is held to such a high standard it’s unbelievable. Just relax if folk makes the kicks, we are talking about a win, instead of how Winston sucks. Relax and let Winston progress at his pace not yours. People expect a 23 year old to play like a 10 year vet. Not very realistic.

  34. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Did someone really just say we need to bring someone in for competition at QB………. SMH the Bucs have some kf the dumbest fans in all of sports haha. It was great to hear Pats fans turning on Brady last night. After seeing “pats fan” last night I would put mkney down that 75% of “florida man” stories are generated by a pats fan.

  35. Shane Says:

There will always be Jameis haters. Neither offense looked great after the short week but damn Koetter HAS to do a better job at putting this offense in position to succeed. The play calling was horrendous.

  36. Dicko14 Says:

The fact of the matter is that so far Jameis isn’t living up to the expectations we all had for him this season. No doubt some of that is down to the play calling but it’s unnaceptable to be 1 out of 7 on 3rd down or whatever we were at some point in the 3rd quarter, surely he has some leeway to change the plays at the line of scrimmage? I want Jameis to succeed as much as anybody but we need to see more and we need to see it soon.

  37. DB55 Says:

FG’s are a big part of a game. When an offense stalls and they, the offense with Jameis, put the kicker in range.
    ——————
Big part of Jameis game. There’s a reason Aguayo was the best fb kicker in ncaa history. Folk makes his kicks we are 3–1.

Btw the Raiders have a kicker named Giorgio Tavecchio who should be available by week 8. Perfect accuracy and booms from 50+ yards.

  38. TheBucsAnthem Says:

STOP GIVING JW a pass joe

If a QB doesn’t play well and have shown a consistency of doing the same thing over and over gain (that’s called a trend)……then “it is what it is”

Don’t throw stats in our faces…….noone cares about that…….I’d rather has a qb with not impressive stats, but instead he makes the key plays to win the games.

This team or franchise cannot sustain slow starts every single game

    or the overthrown balls

or locking into receivers and throwing INTs or hopeless passes to ME13.

……..but sure, JW in the QB 23 yr old with all the great stats.

Let me bring back what Raheem Morris said “STATS ARE FOR LOSERS”

Look, Joe wrote here to ultimately judge Jameis on wins and playoffs, like all franchise QBs are.–Joe

  39. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

Kicker lost the game. Jameis was a little overwhelmed but he’s getting better every week. Those long balls will get there. He’s still young. We need to be patient.

Licht needs to be very upset with the mess he’s created and he needs to fix that kicking situation ASAP.

    Jameis is just fine.

  40. Shane Says:

Fire Koetter. Let’s see what Jimbo Fisher can do

  41. Wausa Says:

I 100% agree with you Joe.

I know fans want things to happen quickly(I want that too), but this franchise was the worst in the NFL three years ago. Jamies is obviously still learning but this should be his rookie year if he would have used his eligibility up in college. He is the best QB this franchise has had by a an enormous margin and I am extremely confident that he will do great things this year and the years to come.

I know stats are not the whole story but right now Jamies is 3rd in passing yards in the NFL, 7th in Yards per Attempt, 6th in TD passes and 12th in passer rating.

  42. ElioT Says:

Jameis and Koetter have to get this offense clicking asap.

Jameis needs to calm down in the first half and focus on hitting his open targets. The pass protection is there and he’s got a decent running game. He’s got to be able to sustain drives, capitalize on turnovers and put up TDs.

Koetter needs to help out and do a better job with play calling and game management. He can’t abandon the run so quickly, especially when Doug is running for 8 yards a clip. Why Charles Sims is on the field so much is a mystery to me.

The defense has hung in there. They were already limited in terms of proven talent (CB, DE) and depth and they were decimated by injuries like we’ve rarely ever seen.

    2-2 isn’t bad, and it’s still early, but…

This offense is healthy, loaded at every position, with the #1 pick behind center in his third year under the same system.

Dirk and Jameis count NOT ask for a better set-up and there are ZERO excuses.

It is TIME to step up and take it to the next level.

    Go Bucs!

  43. DB55 Says:

9 wins last year and most of youz were ecstatic, he’s currently pacing ahead of last yr and you guys are bitch’n?

Raise your hand if you had the Bucs beating the pats prior to last night. I know I had this game down as a loss and I garuntee 99.9% of you bums did too.

  44. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

One more thing. We got beat by TOM BRADY. The defense held him to 19 faking points. So much to be excited about with this team.

  45. Buc1987 Says:

    16 game season!

  46. Bobby M. Says:

You can win with Jameis, I have no doubt but…..

When Jameis has 30+ attempts….Bucs winning pct 38%

When Jameis has 35+ attempts….Bucs winning pct 22%

  47. NJBucsFan Says:

As someone that wanted Mariota over Winston, I can say I was wrong. I’m glad JW is here. We have to take the good with the bad. The thing I really appreciate about Winston is he self-scouts and identifies what needs to be corrected. If he can turn his 2nd half efforts into full game efforts…we will be really dangerous.

  48. bkbuc Says:

Jameis played well when it mattered the most. Yes, he was pretty awful the first three quarters, yes the receivers dropped a lot of passes but he gave us a chance to win, like a true franchise QB. My biggest gripe, besides kicking, is the play calling. How come it took us four games to run a slant with djax? Look at how much success he had with it! Why didn’t we target Evans more? WHY DID WE STOP RUNNING DOUG WHEN HE HAD 5.6 YPC?!? Doug gave me life when he had the ball. Why is Sims III still on the team? Okay, he has decent hands but he is definitely slower than last year and he is just plain bad in my eyes. Defense surprisingly balled out. The sky isn’t falling.

  49. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I had this game as a loss too

But after all the “gifts” the pats gave us to win the game

and after all the JW missed opportunities……this loss shouldn’t have happened.

    Sure fold screws the pooch

but playing bad offense and bad QB play until the 4th quarter isn’t going to get it done either

    Pick your poison……JW or Folk??????

  50. Hawaiian Buc Says:

People are saying hire Jimbo? Nothing you can ever write can be taken seriously from now until the end of time. Smh

  51. Cgmaster27 Says:

Buc 1987, I know we have some clown fans on here still upset their boy mariota is injured again. They can’t wait to pin every loss on Jameis. Could he have played better? Yes, !no one is making excuses for him like they seem to believe. It just makes them fee better to be miserable. But yeah let’s just draft another qb because they just grow in trees. Some fans are beyond clueless.

  52. JabooBuc Says:

    a couple of thoughts:

First, these kicking issues reaffirms why selecting a kicker in the 2nd round was not a bad idea. Sure, the player failed but can anyone argue the importance of the position?

Second, the play calling is fine. The execution is mediocre and a lot of that is on Jameis. He is our QB now and has shown enough to be excited about the future. However, he needs to be sharper. The plays were there last night and the players failed to execute (missed throws, dropped passes, penalties). A lot of points left on the field.

Third, there is a lot of potential for this team to be great and we should be excited. If they can keep this defense healthy so it can continue to gel, then it will be dangerous. Same with the offense. This is a work in progress and i can see things getting better, sans kicking game.

  53. DB55 Says:

Koetters playbook is designed for Dan Marino, Peyton Manning and any other statue you can think of.

CHUCKY would have run Martin down Bellicheat throat! Then hit Jac on screens and tosses. The pats looked soft and CHUCKY would have tried to break their spirit but Koetter spent at least an entire qrt forcing the ball to Djax. Okay!

Oh and by the way O.J. Howard has exactly 3 catches for 17 yards on the year and still haven’t seen him as a Red Zone target. But wtf do I know?

Last thing, I told ya coach B ain’t worth a ship and coach munchkin is even worse!

  54. TheBucsAnthem Says:

You can win with Jameis, I have no doubt but…..

When Jameis has 30+ attempts….Bucs winning pct 38%

When Jameis has 35+ attempts….Bucs winning pct 22%

    ———————————————————————————-

Where did you dig up these stats????

  55. ruggyup Says:

No, Joe, JW is not on the list of Bucs’ problems. But, he certainly is right up there on the list of reasons. Nice to have a Jackson even if you can’t come close to getting him the ball when wide open for an easy six. Lots of hat here, still waiting for the cattle.

  56. Mike Johnson Says:

Why is it coach Koetter cannot make game adjustments? Everybody in TB talks about..How great he is? We should be having defenses scared of our Offense. Just look at our receiving corp..on paper. You’d think we were capable of at least 30 pts a game. Kpetter needs an offensive coordinator. Because he’s not seeing or understanding what teams are doing to him. I blame our loss directly on him, the kicker and yes, a slow start by Jameis. Our rag tag Defense played well enough for our offense to win this game. Our Offense..FAILED. Thus, Mr Koetter..FAILED!!

  57. D-Rome Says:

D-Rome…he did have a handful of great passes…out of what? 46 attempts? Frankly, at this time I’d take a little more Brad Johnson consistency, and a little less pure arm talent.

Holy crap, 46 attempts? I didn’t see the stat sheet yet. I’m with you, I’d rather see Brad Johnson consistency. Also, let’s not forget Brate dropped a TD pass thrown right at the numbers.

If Jameis really threw 46 times then the Bucs didn’t run enough and that’s on Koetter.

  58. Couch Fan Says:

There are people who simply hate Jameis and will say anything just to bash him. However, Jameis is doing himself no favors by completely over throwing receivers who are wide open. You can only use the chemistry excuse so much. Jameis has to shoulder some of that responsibility. Other than that though I agree.

  59. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Mike Johnson

    Actually,

I think Koetter did make adjustments after he seen Winston cannot hit the broadside of a barn (deep ball sucks) after 20 yrds……….

  60. EA Says:

Patience has run out, fans are tired of promises about Winstons upside, Useless stats are irrelevant. Vocal leadership only takes you so far and eventually you have to back it up otherwise your team mates will doubt you.
Eli manning isn’t much of a vocal leader but he has 2 rings.
It’s not all on Winston, perhaps coaching staff isn’t game planning to his abilities.

I predicted a 9-7 season but what I’m seeing out of the Koetter/Winston combo the last 2+ years I’d be glad if we win 6 games sorry.
The kicker debacle only reinforces my pessimism about this offense.

  61. Matty K Says:

As a lifelong Bucs fan, I am ashamed and embarrassed by most of these so-called Bucs fans that post these comments. The ignorance is real. I guarantee you these are the same clowns begging for Glennon to start over Jameis in year one. Jameis has changed this franchise around in 2 years and we’re on our way to greatness. Sadly, when we’re in the Super Bowl, these same morons will be patting Jameis on the back and will be his number one fan.

  62. DB55 Says:

Jimbo would make a great OC and FSU sucks so pay the man and let him do what does does best, be the Jameis whisperer.

  63. grafikdetail Says:

thanks joe!! someone finally put some blame on the Dirk! seems like every pass play is 20 yards down the field & low percentage throws

  64. Wes Says:

Well said Joe. Everyone needs to take a chill pill. We are 2-2. Not 1-3, not 0-4.

And don’t forget Jameis’ play beat the NYG. Not Folks leg. He almost friggen missed it.

  65. Idahobucsfan1145543 Says:

I don’t hate winston and i don’t like mariota at all but something has to change we are 1 field goal that get missed from being a 1-3 team again it doesn’t look much different then the last two seasons if defenders didn’t drop ints the winston gave them it would be really ugly right now we need a change for sure #nomoreexcusesforwinston

  66. Big Stinky Says:

Had to wait until today to post about the game last night, had to give myself time to think about what happened last night. Wanted to blame Jameis for the loss at first because of how bad he played to start the game. Both QB’s started out slow last night but Brady overcame 2 turnovers to win, wish Jameis could do that. Our defense held the #1 offense to 19 points and we STILL lost. I am starting to have NO faith in our offense, we can hardly score 20 points. STOP depending on the kicker to get your points, STOP throwing the ball deep on EVERY pass play, and CATCH the effing ball when Winston finally puts it in your hands. This chit is crazy to watch and I am getting sick of it. Dirk needs to call shorter passes more often since Jameis CANNOT seem to go through his progressions, it’s hard to watch. We are NOT going to make the Playoffs the way we are playing right now AND that is unacceptable with the talent we have. Wish Jameis was more accurate and consistent with his play. Hope one of these days I will be happy that we picked him with the #1 pick. He’s getting better (I guess) but is STILL all over the place with his throws. The next 2 weeks are NOT going to be easy but hope we play better than last night. Don’t want to give up on the season before the middle of the season. No excuses! Playoffs or Bust! Go BUCS!

  67. Bobby M. Says:

    NFL.com has game logs for 2015, 2016 and 2017…..its pretty simple math. Look at games with 30+ attempts…I counted 27 total….he won 10. Games with 35+ attempts…I counted 18…he’s won 4.

  68. LongSeason Says:

Plus we have a kicker who has dropped 16 in the last two games into a stinky rest stop toilet. I don’t blame Jameis. I could also see the chemistry starting to build with DJax and Jameis last night.

  69. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ LongSeason

I dunno what u talkin bout bruh ……….I don’t use stinky reststop toilets in order to NOT catch a disease like nick folk had last night

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!

  70. BucsFan90 Says:

Koetter sucks. There is a reason why he and mike smith couldn’t do sh!t with a talented atlanta team

  71. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Joe
“That short catch and explosion by Jackson in the fourth quarter last night? Where was that hiding?”

That is a terrible take!!!!!!! The Pats dared JW3 to beat them with the deep pass and when JW3 could not, The Pats defense dictated to the Bucs Offense!!!!!! At the end of the game they switched to a soft zone to keep everything in front and eat up the clock for the win!!!!!!
Oh, please. That has nothing to do with the Bucs doing more to get Jackson the ball short and, hopefully, with some space. –Joe

  72. holymoly13 Says:

First time Bucs have opened at 2-2 in awhile. This is a good game to build on, holding brady to 19 points is not bad. Jameis is still missing some throws, but so is every other QB in the league. When David and Alexander come back, defense will only get better. And last but not least, turn Jameis loose !

  73. Charlie Says:

@Bobby M – go look at stats for a lot of QBs and you will see the same thing. You throw a lot of passes when you are behind. Brate dropped a touchdown in two straight games. How is that Winston’s fault?

  74. DBS Says:

Who was the head coach last year? Now he can’t do it? It’s his fault? Who threw for 4000 yards 2 years in a row but last year had no weapons? Well he has weapons now . And now it’s on Jackson? I guarantee Brady could hit Jackson! Forget the age crap. that is out the window. Excuses are over. Even if Folk had hit one of the field goals then you can bet the Pats would not have punted but gone for the score. Nobody knows what would have become of that situation. So to even think we may have still had a chance is a wild guess. Yes there were dropped balls and a stupid penalty. But bad passes and the usual slow start lost that game.

  75. Bucs Sam Says:

    *Excuse

Reality is really the only thing Jamies is right on is the measurement is W’s. Once again the Buc’s are in last place in the division.

Hard to get existed when we add weapons and get the same results.

So far JW is all talk and hype. Don’t sing it, bring it.

  77. RayJameisStadium Says:

    Great article Joe!!!

It is time for Koetter for also to step up his game plan. Doug being back will help balance the attack. A bad field goal kicker calls for Jameis and DJax to get their act together ASAP!

Koetter better take advantage of Smitty’s wisdom and coaching. When his contract is up he will be gone.

Word on the street is Licht is reading JBF is aware of your plead at DE. He will be aggressive next year.

    Go Bucs!!!

  78. RayJameisStadium Says:

Hopefully we have a repeat turn around by this team like the one after last year’s Thursday night spanking. This time is the offense taking off!!!!

  79. Stanglassman Says:

The kicker that might be available week 8 is sea bass.

  80. BurgDweller Says:

A lot of people forget just how young Jameis is. Drew Brees wasn’t even a starting QB until he was like 24 or 25. Still plenty of time left for Jameis.

  81. Tony from Los Angeles Says:

I abhor Buc fans that can’t understand how special having Jameis as our QB and the fact he is as good as he is at the AGE OF 23.

All of you complaining about Jameis are the types that complain about everything and are just unhappy, dissatisfied people. The haters. The naysayers. The guy on the couch complaining and doing nothing.

We are sooooo lucky to have a guy who is still only roughly the age of most first year QBS who enter the league and is as good as he is. He went toe to toe with the defending world champs and the GOAT at QB and had them on the ropes to the final play despite the worst kicking game in the NFL and numerous drops that killed drives.

I’m tired of the commenters on this site who say things like “bring in competition”. Or who complain about Jameis. You will never be happy about anything in life if you can’t understand how special the Bucs current situation is. You’re blind. Educate yourselves. Stop whining. No one cares what you have to say.

  82. Not there yet Says:

No one is freaking out, at this point he is an average quarterback at best. He’s out franchise quarterback, hell Miami dolphins have a franchise quarterback but doesn’t mean because your given that title you can’t be called out. If he had played for any other college team they would be calling for him to be benched. Here’s played average and if that continues they’ll continue to be an average team. He’s not a playoff quarterback yet

  83. Bobby M. Says:

“that’s a lot of QBs”….provide valid data. And adding a WR dropped a pass….guess what “a lot of QBs” have passes dropped. What about the absolute miss on Jackson wide open down the right side….That’s a TD as well. My statement is on the body of work and he’s shown no data that supports him carrying the team….yet.

  84. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

@TheBucsAnthem pffft hahaha well said. I think that slant to djax was the start of that adjustment to get him the ball but within that 20 yard range. Which is fine. 20 yards of the catch were YACs.

  85. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

Yall cant forget those dropped passes man, faking Martin and Brate. Not much Fameis can do with that. He can catch for them too.

  86. Bculaw Says:

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!

JW played a bad first half of football. Period. The Bucs lost by five to the defending Super Bowl champions – 18 with arguably the greatest coaching staff and greatest quarterback in NFL history. Our kicker missed two makeable kicks goals and our Surehanded TE dropped a pass that hit him in the chest in the end zone. NFL Games are won or lost in the details and execution. There was plenty of blame to pass around last night, and some should certainly fall on our quarterbacks shoulders. But, anyone who is calling for change or competition at the position is just a rube.

The same quarterback the struggled so mightily in the first half threw for 225 yards and what should have been two touchdowns (including a would-be game winner) in the final quarter with near perfect decision making and accuracy. do you think quarterbacks that are capable of doing things like that simply grow on trees? JW3 is inconsistent right now. He is also out of sync with his number two receiver. And, he had stretches last night where he rushed throws to his safety valves, and looked a bit confused by the defense of scheme the patriots were running. In my mind, it is really simple. It is far more likely that our 23-year-old quarterback can improve upon these deficiencies than it is for the Buxs to find another QB that brings as much to the table as “good Jameis” does.

The guy shows all the signs of being really, really special when he is in rhythm. For two weeks in a row, he has been at his best in crunch time. How about we see if we can keep him in rhythm more often before we give up on him.

  87. Capt.Tim Says:

    Jameis did his part.
He did all it took to beat the Boston Bastards
He drove the team into very makeable field goal range twice.

You guys expect him to kick the damn ball, too?

    Jameis is a great Qb.
Right now. Wouldnt trade him for any other QB in the league.
Play calling was bad last night. To many forced attempts to hook up with Desean Jackson
I dont think that was Jameis decision

  88. AlteredEgo Says:

    ^^^ drug test

  89. Skyline Crew Says:

I’m sorry, but these are all excuses. This loss is absolutely on Jameis and Folk. Jameis killed so many drives with his inaccuracy. The commentators even commented on it several times.

Yes, we would have won if Folk could make a kick, however, we could have won if Jameis could get the ball in the same area as the receiver. He can’t throw back shoulder throws. He tried to force the ball to Jackson too many times. He ended up going to Brate over and over and over because he is timid with his long ball. Thankfully Martin was there to get yards for the team.

Jameis has to do better with accuracy, right now he looks like a scrub playing football. So many of you claimed we would win a SB in year 3 with him. Guess what, I didn’t believe it then and I don’t believe it now.

  90. volbuc2 Says:

IF anyone really thinks JW should be traded or benched your an idiot and don’t know anything about nothing especially football. I mean honestly your a loser if you really feel that way. I think most of your are social media freaks that probably do nothing all day but get on these message boards and live your life instead of a REAL life. SAD!!!! this fan base might be the weirdest in the league unfortunately.

  91. Q Says:

You got to let him mature alone…you take away his aggressive instincts you get what we had last night….hes now afraid to throw passes because he wants to play safe….let jameis free and it will open up

  92. ndog Says:

So everyone on this board that is killing Jameis today would have nothing to say if Brate just catches a perfect thrown in the end zone, or if Folk just makes two of those FG’s or if Doug Martin catches the ball right in his hands on 3rd down or if Dirk actually ran the ball when they are playing cover 4 every play and just giving us the run. I mean people look at what you are saying. People say be careful with the ball check (zero turnovers), give your team a chance to win check (TD dropped in the endzone and setup two makeable FG’s). Plus he did also throw for 334 yards and a TD. Again if the players around him just do their job we win that game and the narrative is 100% different. For example Brady threw a pick, fumbled the ball and missed a wide open streaking Hogan for a 70 yard TD but his fans are saying he was awesome and cheering his name while leaving the stadium last night. But you see his kicker was 4-4.

  93. Destinjohnny Says:

How do u fix inconsistency with accuracy?
It’s kinda like teaching height or speed.
3 in no way is a bust but he has accuracy issues and he always has.
He my qb though and I love his make up I have to admit

  94. Pickgrin Says:

    Correct on all points Joe.

Jameis Winston is far and away the best QB this franchise has ever had at only 23 years of age.

Is he a finished product? Of course not. Will his play continue to improve over the next 2-5 years. Yes.

Winston coming into his 3rd year is nudging into “top 10 QB” territory despite his “shortcomings” and gives the Buccaneers a reasonable chance to win any game vs any team we play – as evidenced last night.

Out of synch too often is the best way I can describe our Offense through 4 games.

Sometimes its an errant throw by Jameis, otherwise its a dropped pass, an ill timed penalty or an occasional bad play call that stalls this offense too often of late.

I agree that we should be doing more quick throws – slants, bubble screens, short hooks, quick outs to the flats, etc early in the game to establish rhythm and keep the chains moving. I also agree with Joe’s point that Winston seems to do better playing up tempo. Would like to see more no huddle at times other than the 2 minute drill.

This QB – this team – and this season are works in progress. Stay tuned Bucs fans. We have talent on this team and once the offense starts really clicking we will be hard to beat. Let’s hope it happens soon.

In the meantime – its nice to at least have a competitive team again….

  95. daveman Says:

Jameis should be traded or benched. He is simply living up to the hype about as closely as many of his passes are to our receivers. He doesn’t suck. He’s just not very good. He’s mid tier and showing no signs of improving.

  96. daveman Says:

er, should NOT be traded or benched.

  97. Cgmaster Says:

Anthem listing qbs front this years draft. Haha. You realize everyone of those guys is underachieving this year, or so you just not watch football at all?

  98. ndog Says:

No Realist, outside of a few 3rd downs they were dropping everyone most of the game and playing cover 4. We were running routes right into the teeth of their defense and did not adjust. When we started calling plays with shorter routes then bang we started moving the ball. They did not switch their defense we switched our offense just to late. Why do you think we could run the ball so we on them? They had two safeties back deep almost all game daring us to beat them the long way and we just refused to adjust till we got into the 4 minute offense and then we did it. We should have went with the 4 minute offense the entire game and we would have probably blown them out. I am dead serious cause we were the better team on the field just not on the sidelines last night.

  99. Bucsace Says:

I hope Jameis doesn’t look like he did last night when game 16 rolls around, because 3 NFL seasons invested in a QB is long enough if he continues to struggle by the end of this season. Big passing stats are nice, but beware the “Stealthy” bust

  100. Joel Says:

In the world of instant gratification, fans have to have everything now. They see flash in pan guys like Mariota and Prescott and think that’s the norm. Jameis will have a career that is longer and better than either of these new clowns.

Be patient Bucs fans. Think of how far we’ve come since 2014.

  101. firethecannons Says:

Koetter is not the answer/solution, his play calling needs to be addressed to Winston’s strengths

Joe can you do a piece on Koetter play calling

  102. BrianBucs Says:

Jameis was very good for one quarter last night and not very good for 3. But guess what Bucs fans, very good or very bad you are stuck with him.

  103. ndog Says:

I just don’t get you people, please rip him all day when he makes bone headed plays like he did in Minnesota but last night he was fine. Was he perfect no but neither was the “great one” and everyone is acting like he was something special last night. Heck he was playing against a rookie middle linebacker, and two 2nd year linebackers and a rookie safety making his first start and Jameis had a better game.

  104. Ryan K Says:

ANOTHER COP-OUT BY BUCS MEDIA ! SHAME.

    Oh my. Where to begin.

“Take a deep breath and give Jameis a break. He’s not on the Bucs’ list of problems.”

Not on the list of problems. So, Joe, Winston’s accuracy is not a problem for this team right now?

How about going through his progressions, is that not a problem for this team right now?

How about picking up the blitz? Are you really going to tell me that is not a problem right now?

How does Winston do with deep balls ? Does that need any work ?

Just amazing. I ask all of you loyal Winston supporters who would rather throw blame on the fans then Winston, What does Winston do that is so special?

Honestly.. and by the way. I have Winston’s jersey. I wore it Thursday night. I wore it when I went to the game in Minnesota with my family. I wore it when i went to the game in Arizona last year. I support him. I cheer him on. But, I AM NOT AFRAID TO CRITICIZE HIM.

What does Winston do that is so special?

Great guy. Great leader. Rah-rah TO THE MAX. What else?

I often hear “he has a strong arm” when describing Winston.
If he is not an accurate QB consistently, and is not good with the deep ball, what does that really mean/accomplish ?

How CLUTCH IS WINSTON? How many big time games does he win ? I KNOW I KNOW ! he is young. You will not be able to use that excuse forever. Winston is NOT A CLUTCH QB. HE IS NOT AN ACCURATE QB. HE DOES NOT READ THE FIELD EFFECTIVELY. HE IS NOT GOOD GOING DEEP. LETS GET REAL.
Do not be mistaken, i do not think the season is over. We are 2-2. This season is alive and well. I hope Winston gets better, but the way some media/fans refuse to point out when Winston fails reminds me of the MSM AND HRC.. to a degree…

  105. SteveK Says:

Jameis was inaccurate for most of the game. We were 0-6 on third downs until the 4th quarter. That’s anything but “fine”. Jameis can improve, but he was by no means precise with the football. It could be bc Brady was throwing the ball for the other team and Jameis is no Brady.

  106. buc it Says:

These posts are just crazy. He just needs to learn to go through his reads. Fella got hit many many times the past two seasons and that will put some fear in anybody. He’s going to rebound folks.

I think you’re right. That’s a big contract they can unload.

  108. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

We win this game last night if Brate catches the first TD thrown his way.

Or if the refs don’t call a bogus hands to the face penalty on Evan smith that had no effect on the play, on Jameis’ TD run.

Or you know, if the professional kicker we employ had made 2/3 kicks. Of which the 49 yarder and 31 yard are expected to be made every time.

  109. Wausa Says:

We have some world class idiots on this board that are even suggesting to bench or trade Winston.

Jamies is the best QB the Bucs franchise has ever had and it’s not even close.
Jamies did not play his best for the first 3 quarters last night(Coach Koetter bad play calls contributed to that) and then in the 4th quarter you see how good he is.

Replace Folk with Gostkowski and the Bucs would have won last night by double digits.

  110. Skyline Crew Says:

For those saying that if we win nobody is saying anything…I disagree. His inaccuracy is a big problem whether you want to accept it or not. It’s funny when Glennon struggled, it was all his fault and nobody else. Now that Winston is struggling, it is everybody’s fault and not his. Winston has an accuracy problem and he needs to fix it now or he will be a mediocre QB now and forever.

You are correct, Brate should have caught that pass, but how many other passes could have been caught if Winston was accurate. You try to save him by giving one example, but we define him based on his body of work, which was inaccuracy. He couldn’t even make the back shoulder throw and the commentators were all over it. Come on guys, fair is fair, the kid is inaccurate and that isn’t the play calling or anybody else’s fault.

  111. Rod Munch Says:

All you Winston bashers dolts do is talk about turnovers – and now he has two games passing for over 300 yards with 4 TDs and ZERO turnovers and you pieces of garbage complain about that. Do me a favor – if you’re a Winston basher go play with fireworks around a gas station.

    God bless.

  112. ndog Says:

Skyline how many bad throws did Brady have? Cause I can give you about 5 which is roughly the same amount as Jameis. Brady threw a horrible pick (1), the very next series had a guy wide open on a slant and threw it right into the ground (2), he missed Hogan wide open and threw it into double coverage just out of the reach of Cooks (3), he threw another ball that Evans almost picked where he forced an out pattern (4) and lastly on the last drive he threw a ball way behind his rb (5). Now Jameis missed D-Jax (1), over threw Martin (2) threw the deep ball that could have been picked (3) missed Brate on a deep corner route (4), missed Brate on a under route where he forced it to D-jax (5). What else you got that were horrible throws. So he was 24-46 which is 52%, with 1 TD, BUT Brate dropped 3 passes, Evans dropped 1 pass and Martin dropped one, so if you those were caught he would have been at 63% completion % with 2 tds and zero turnovers. So you’re telling us that is not good enough?

  113. Wausa Says:

    Thank you @Rod Munch & @ndog

  114. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Tony Romo hit the nail on the head, as did Ronde Barber, when he said we have no hot read adjustments to a blitz.
Tony Romo showed how New England motions a Man, to get the defense to reveal to Brady what kind of coverage it is going to be.
It would sure be nice if we copied success for a change, instead of failure.

  115. Rayjay1122 Says:

OK. This is a very short summary of our issue. Also, yes I was at the game, so these comments are from someone who attended but have not seen it on TV yet which in my opinion gives a lot more be of a clue as to what is going on.

Winston: as usual, very inconsistent with ball placement . Even completions or usually not in a good spot for our receivers to run after the catch. Yes he is still young but his inaccuracy is doubtful to be fixed by coaching.

    Folk……no comment needed.

Koetter: D- grade. Terrible game management and play calling. Look, you chose your QB and he has too many weapons to make excuses. He has patterns that he is good at and others that he next to never completes. Also, please stop with the long passes. Winston even overthrows DJax we which is hard to do. The play calling was about as bad as the lack of execution by the players.

Doug Martin: Played well. Ran hard with success then was not used anymore
Maybe a plan to limit his touches since he was not active the past few weeks. Still no excuse. Stick with what is working DIRK!

  116. Hawaiian Buc Says:

It shouldn’t, but it blows my mind how quickly so many of you panic because of a game or two, and want to blow things up. Give me a freaking break! We’ve done the blow everything up several times, and how has that worked out. Stupidest thing is, we’ve got complete morons on here talking about hiring a college coach!!! WTF people? Do you even think before you type?

My goodness, we were 20 yards (or a short FG) away from beating the world champs, who were desperate (and who never lose 2 in a row). We have a 3rd year QB who is setting records, changing our losing culture, and is 1 game removed from a game winning drive, and some of you idiots think he’s not any good?

This is professional football. You win some, you lose some. I hated losing this game as much or more than all of you, but that doesn’t mean we need to make changes (aside from Folk – that dude has got to go, and he will). Dirk is a good coach, Licht is a good GM, Jameis is a good QB, and we have a good team. We are 2-2, and in good shape. If you are going to lose a game, the best one to lose is to an AFC team (for the tiebreakers). R-E-L-A-X

  117. Dave Says:

    Winston will be fine.
He has the want to, the know-how, the desire, the dedication, the work ethic.
All I have heard is how this offense is predicated on play action to a degree. Well, they should open up the first quarter with short passes and runs, then start stretching the field.

  118. Dave Says:

    Hawaiian Buc

    Well said.
At the beginning of the season almost everybody here probably saw them being 2-2 after the first four games.
They are improving and will continue to improve. They are going to be a 10 win team fighting for the division

  119. cgmaster Says:

Interesting watching Koetter conference today. He said there was about 6-8 dropped passes today. Strange how most of the Jameis haters can’t see that. Also the last play was “executed Perfectly by Jameis” , per Koetter, Howard never turned around. Jameis was off last night but some of you don’t know squat about how things work without throwing all of the blame on Jameis.

  120. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Yes @cgmaster, Jameis even pointed to his own eyes when talking to Howard, after the play didn’t work, as if to say LOOK next time.

  121. Rayjay1122 Says:

It for sure was not all on Jameis. Still, Jameis is terribly inaccurate on certain routes. Why do we keep throwing these bombs that as soon as it is thrown, we all know it will be either overthrown, out of bounds or intercepted. I like Winston but he has a long long long way to go to be an elite QB, which may never happen. Any guesses how bad Brady would have clobbered us if he had ME 13, D-Jax, Hump, Brate and Martin? This is on Winston and Koetter as well as our soon to be ex kicker.

There are several options on these plays, so is it all bad play calling or is it mighty mouse trying to be Superman.

  124. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Rayjay1122,

If, if, if, if, if. I really hate the “if” game. Tom Brady is the greatest QB in the history of football – and it’s not even a question. Why are you comparing a 23 year old QB to him in the first place? That’s the wrong mentality.

Jameis is better this year than he was last year. Maybe not enough for any of our liking, but as long as he’s improving, we have nothing to complain about. He has had no turnovers in 3 out of 4 games. He doesn’t have the luxury of making easy throws in this offense. He pushes the ball down the field over and over and over again. No one is going to be perfect on those kind of throws. You’re going to miss a few. But to suggest he should just stop throwing deep is just plain dumb. You keep working at it, get better at it, and eventually you will be good at it. So many fans want things to be instant, but it just normally doesn’t work that way. Be happy he’s getting better, and enjoy the best QB this franchise has ever had.

I like the point Joe made about Mariota. The fact is that Winston is equal or better talent wise than the Titan qb and lets face it, if the Bucs had taken Mariota over JW and Mariota missed games including when he pulled up with a hammy like he did in the Texan game last week a lot of the JBF posters would be labeling him a bust and probably complaining about not drafting Winston. JW is not perfect but I bet a large majority of teams would not mind having him as their starting qb, especially if they now have a starter that is on the backside of 35 or so like NO, the Chargers, Giants, Pitt, and yes even the hoodie and NE….

Did anyone notice how great Romo was in the booth ? As bad a QB he was you would think he was the best to every play the Game !!! It’s easy to sit An do it from a distance!!! But when bullets are flying different story !!! Romo stacked !! Got kicked outa Dallas by a rookie !!!

  128. ME13 Says:

    Romo sucked!!

  129. ME13 Says:

He constantly compared JW3 to TB12 an Peyton Manning !! Manning was a choke just like Roma !! JW3 seems to always give us a chance!!! For that I want to say thank you Jamis !!! Don’t listen to the bandwagon!! They will be on an off as long as you are here!!! Do what you do !! Family we with you

  130. ME13 Says:

Hats off to the D !! They balled out against the best to every play the game !!!

  131. ME13 Says:

We are so blessed to have Jamis !!! Can’t believe I have to take time to tell y’all bandwagon fans just how lucky we are!! Get off the ship !! Come talk to me in 5yrs an let’s just see where Jamis stacks up to the Greats!!! Let’s make sure we put Romo stats up there in the pic to!! It only took him 7 yrs to win a game in Dec !!! How many times did Romo give Dallas a chance to win !!!

  132. ME13 Says:

Sorry bout the Rant !!! But it is sad that some are to dumb to know we are building something special !! Blows my mind

All of your comments here Point to one reality….We all luv Jameis but he’s got a long..long ways to go. He’s gotta..calm down…and learn to read Defenses better.
He will get there. Buts its gonna take him a couple more years. And Koetters got to get himself an offensive Coordinator. He’s missing quite a bit of game adjustment things offensively.
