Take The Points

September 16th, 2017

Suspicious of Bucs.

From a short-term investment point of view, stay away from the Bucs Sunday.

That’s the word from the one and only Chris “Mad Dog” Russo of SiriusXM Radio fame.

Russo, who hosts a show on the channel that bears his nickname, has a segment every Friday highlighting picks with long-time TV personality and Vegas Stats and Information Network guru Brent Musburger. One of Russo’s picks was taking 6.5 points and the Bears.

Deep down inside, Russo isn’t sold on the Bucs, partially because of their brutal history in the post-Chucky era.

“I never trust Tampa,” Russo said. “Tampa is a team, they didn’t play last week. I can see them being a touch rusty. I never trust them in their building. They don’t have a great home field advantage. [There will be] a lot of Bears fans at Raymond James. With John Fox [the Bears] will be competitive. They will play hard. They can run the ball. They have the little kid from North Carolina A&T who had a big game last week. Glennon against his old team — Phil Simms said he thought Glennon played really well in a losing game against the Falcons. They are giving up a touchdown and that is essentially what you are doing here. And Tampa has to earn that and Tampa hasn’t earned anything as far as I am concerned.”

Russo has a hunch the Bucs will win but it will be a nailbiter and investors should steer clear.

No shyte Sherlock. Neither has any other team.

I can’t believe some of these guys get paid to say what they say.

He’s right about no home field though. Tis been that way for awhile.

  8. Buc1987 Says:

    Bucs 24 Bears 14

Home field advantage will be there in a BIG way. With all the Stick Carriers in the building, I dare a Bears fan to make noise during our offensive series. And Glennon was a pick throwing machine in training camp against our defense. So even with rust, I expect our Bucs to show up and play strong.

The Bucs must cover the spread bc if they can’t beat the bears convincingly then how do you suppose they’ll beat the Vikings, giants or pats?

  11. tnew Says:

We can go 0-19 versus the spread as far as I’m concerned. Just win baby!

  12. Bird Says:

Hopefully we can serve up a big fresh turd for that guy!

    17 to 10 Bucs.

  16. Pickgrin Says:

Bucs cover the spread. Likely by a decent margin. 27-13 is my guess

    Russo is weird to me.

    Bucs 35 Bears 9

  19. Greg Says:

Mad Dog could not find Tampa on a map of Hillsborough County….31-14 Bucs and I have financially backed up that prediction…sorta…teased it down to 1/2

  20. Mark Says:

Amazing how confident folks are going into the game. I think there will be a ton of rust and a couple of miscues early on. The Bucs wil bounce back but fall short. Bears 24-20.

He was just down here two weeks ago. His kid goes to school at University of Tampa.
