“Chef Swaggy”

September 14th, 2017

Grillmaster.

“Hard Knocks” isn’t quite over.

Yes, the season series of “Hard Knocks,” which just ended last week, featured the Bucs. It was cool stuff and Joe got a great deal more entertainment and insight from “Hard Knocks” than any Bucs preseason game that he can recall (not just this summer).

Who will every forget Riley Bullough, Bobo Wilson or Playbook McSoftie?

Or for that matter, the memory being seared into our hard drives of shy, practice-hating, kicker-heckling, tree-grinding , non-contact-football-loving Swaggy Baker doing a tree?

Hang on Bucs fans,”Hard Knocks” isn’t quite over.

You see, since the series ended, NFL Films, which produced the series, has a ton of unused footage. So on social media, NFL Films is pumping out additional scenes.

One is a cool cut of Swaggy at home with his wife Jamila and daughter Aria. Really cute scene. Looks like a Norman Rockwell image of a young family. An All-American family. Swaggy and his wife are playing bubbles with their little daughter and while Mom fawns over her, Dad fires up the grill for lunch.

And it seems, Swaggy is pretty damned good with the grill. He talked about how he got good at cooking in college and he used to host Thursday Night Football cookouts at his home in Washington for all the Redskins’ defensive line. He often treated them to wings.

“If anybody wants to put their wings up against mine, I welcome it,” Swaggy said.

You can watch the scene below. Makes Joe hungry.

  6. Rob in Land O Lakes Says:

Swaggy, I’ll accept your chicken wing challenge. We’ll sell tickets and the proceeds go to Irma relief. FYI… show up on the field this Sunday big guy and make something happen.

  7. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Maybe Swaggy’s chef skills are good enough to lure “bbq lovin'” Logan Mankins out of retirement…..we could always use quality depth.

  8. Buddy Says:

Can we move on from hard knocks? It really wasn’t that informative or good besides the first episode. One of the worst ones done.

  9. NYBucfan Says:

i don’t know buddy have you seen the last couple of seasons of hard knocks ? i couldn’t watch after the 2nd episode. the seasons with the rams, falcons , and texans were all horrible in my opinion no personality on those teams. at least we got to see some interesting exchanges between dirk and jameis and i think swaggy and bobo saved the series the last 2 episodes

  11. Destinjohnny Says:

What a nice family. Love seeing this stuff.

  15. Garv Says:

I’m not convinced “Swaggy” is at all serious about his job. All I see is joking around and avoiding practice. Now constant complaining about having to practice in pads this week at all. Until I see SOMETHING on the field I’m concerned the Buccaneers have made a mistake signing this guy. Start walking “Swaggy”, we’ve about had enough of the talking.

  16. pick6 Says:

jordan howard, tarik cohen, dalvin cook. put their butts to the fire in the next 10 days and i will enjoy it more than anything you could BBQ for me

All Eyes..are on..YOU!!! You can open up a frilling restaurant after your playing days or..after this yr if you don’t start delivering!
