Don’t Poke The Bear!

June 28th, 2017

Incited by NFL Network.

Sooner or later, folks are going to figure out it best not to diss Kwon Alexander.

The “Jameis of the Defense” is always looking for reasons to motivate himself even further than normal, which is often off the charts already. Any little slight seems to spark Alexander to run to the gym and beat up a set of weights to work off the frustration.

Yesterday, when Willie McGinest of NFL Network picked his top-10 linebacker units, the Bucs were not included. This news made it’s way to Alexander’s Twitter timeline and Alexander had a one-word response.

Bullsh!t!

Well, that was straight to the point, wasn’t it?

One of these days, folks are going to learn not to rattle Alexander’s cage.

In the meantime, Joe frankly doesn’t mind folks giving Alexander, the NFL’s leader in solo tackles last year, further motivation to tear some running back’s head off.

When you’re inept in coverage, what do you expect? It’s a passing league. I hope Kwon improves.

  3. Defense Rules Says:

Willie McGinest was pretty good in his day & probably knows a thing or two about LB play. His Top-5 (Broncos, Chiefs, Panthers, 49ers & Raiders) each have some well-known, established LBs in there. If McGinest was strictly projecting anticipated 2017 performance, I can see why Bucs, as a LB unit, wouldn’t rank in his top-third. We’re starting an unknown (and still undetermined) rookie at SAM, Lavonte had a so-so year on the other side, and Kwon is still growing. And Bill, Kwon did improve in coverage last year in Mike Smith’s defense, and he should improve even more this year. Bigger concern IMO is that he gets blocked out of position too often, exposing the middle. I think having a stouter DLine (addition of Baker particularly) will help Kwon’s game more than anything.

There’s always room for improvement…In the case of Kwon and LaVonte, they’ve both been slighted since they entered the league…I expect this young Bucs squad to unleash hell this season…There’s no more excuses; on paper, this is arguably the most talent we’ve had on this team top to bottom maybe ever…That said, games aren’t played on paper; we have to prove it on the field…Respect is not given, it most be the earned…Let’s go Bucs, lets get our respect…

    Go right ahead….

    ..poke the bear

    …pull the tigers’ tail

    …throw stones at the rhino

    and tease the gorilla!

The cage door opens at kickoff.

  7. Pa Privateer Says:

I hope the whole dang defense plays angry and ticked off. Seriously, it’s time that the Bucs as a team just be mean. The disrespect will only stop after winning and physically blowing up the other team. Bring back the swagger, and bring back the fear that the Super Bowl Bucs team brought.

Kwon needs help lvd has proven his mentally weak and has started slow the last two seasons. Lvd has spent too much time around the career loser cancer93

  9. Bucsfan951 Says:

Maxi aka the boner killer comes in with his gibberish. I’m thinking we should set up a go fund me to help bring maxi a lady friend (or guy if he prefers) for a night to release some of his anger… I’m guessing it’s been a long while since he’s had any type of “fun” like that.

  12. LakeLandBuc Says:

Why should he include the Bucs in his Top-10 LB units. We don’t even know who our starting Linebackers are.

  13. unbelievable Says:

I think you mean we don’t know what the starting stronside LB is? LVD and Kwon ain’t going anywhere.

Lakeland you’ve turned into the most negative poster on here. Congrats.
