Jameis Gets A Carson Palmer Comparison

Many Bucs fans are wincing at the headline here.
But take a deep breath and keep reading.
New Bucs backup QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had lots to say about America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, this afternoon at One Buc Palace.
Primarily, the veteran raved about how much command Jameis has of the team, and he lauded Jameis’ communication style and leadership. It was pretty impressive considering Fitzpatrick has only been in town a few days.
Fitzpatrick referenced it so many times that Joe had to ask who Fitzpatrick could liken Jameis to during his many stops in the NFL — strictly from a communication/leadership perspective.
Fitzpatrick paused and said Carson Palmer was the first guy that popped in his head because of how well Palmer commanded the attention of the Bengals years ago.
Of course, fans and Joe want Jameis to be something more than Palmer turned out to be, but it still was a nice call by a wise veteran full of fresh admiration for the guy he’ll be working alongside every day.

Not on topic, but Adam Schefter is reporting that Tampa will be awarded Super Bowl 55 in place of Los Angeles because they had to move back the opening of their stadium back a year.

If the Bucs are managed properly it’s possible the team could play a home game in the Super Bowl.

I’m fine with the Palmer comparison as long as it’s 2015 Palmer. Also calling it now, 2021 Buccaneers team will be the first in NFL History to play in a Superbowl in their home stadium.

As far as the palmer comparison well I take it as well the best QB he played behind was palmer so I understand what he saying so i think he saying hey I seen the only person I saw like this is palmer

Just watched Fitzpatrick’s press conference. What a great guy. Very impressive. Seems smart with a great attitude.
