    Y*S

    Go Bucs!!!

  2. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Joe, I thought this was supposed to be the Jason Licht-bash article where you call him out for drafting a TE that we don’t need cause Brate led the league in TDs?

  3. Jason Says:

    Wooooooo!!!!! Ecstatic we got him!!

  4. LifeOfABucFan Says:

    LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!

Told you guys!!! We are going TE!!! and we got Howard!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Told you all!!!!

  5. WideRightDevil Says:

Bama, you must be some kind of special stupid for not utilizing this dude. Damn.

  6. K2 Says:

    Awesome!!!!!!!!

  7. webster Says:

    Nole…..u owe me a jersey

  8. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Jesus, Life, I’m glad you’re humble.

  9. Love and Warrick Dunn Says:

Barnett was kinda who I was hoping /thinking, but totally stoked with this pick, If Dalvin slides, trade up.

  10. theodore Says:

In two TE sets, Howard will make a great decoy to get the ball to Brate more.

  11. WeAreLost Says:

This is going to be a great year for us bucs fans.

  12. LifeOfABucFan Says:

That’s right BuccanEric…this little lady said we were going TE and so many were like..Nah, we’re going with cook..

Damn right I can say it again..I told you all, it’s TE in the 1st!

  13. LifeOfABucFan Says:

I’m just shocked he made it to 19..thank God all these teams wanting a QB!

Now let’s go get Mixon!!!! then defenses will have nightmares going against Jameis and his weapons!!!

  14. Blake_bucsfan Says:

What’s sad is that this is the first time Joe has posted O.J. Howard’s reel.

I’ve been repping this kid from Day 1. Said it over and over, my favorite player in the draft.

Literally could not be happier right now.

  15. Zbucs Says:

I believe the Bucs did not expect him to be there at 19.

  16. feelthepewterpower Says:

Unbelievably stoked for this pick, and here’s why: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlYbWrNF-9Q&t=267s

  17. D-Rome Says:

Booger was wrong. This is a great pick. The FSU whiners can cry somewhere else.

  18. Buc1987 Says:

    WOW!!!

    Woooo hooo

    Evans
    DeSean
    Hump
    Brate
    Howard

    Oh and wait….we’re NOT done!

  19. Dave Says:

    Excellent
    Howard in the middle
    Evans on the outside
    Humphries in the slot
    DJax over top
    Simms out of the backfield
    Rodgers running ball unless….
They make a play and get Cook !!!

  20. Buc4Lyfe79 Says:

The DUNKANEERS HAVE RETURNED, GO BUCS!!!

  21. BuccaneEric75 Says:

    87, you’re taking this well.

  22. NJBucsFan Says:

Where is NOS? I’ve looked on every story

  23. Atlbuc28 Says:

Unbelievable…. im stupid syked and after 13 years …moving back to St Pete in 2 months!… Christmas just came early!!

  24. Buc1987 Says:

lol Dave…and Howard can block too!!

I would say as an FSU “homer” he was the BPA for the O.

I mean I forgot about him even sliding while watching it.

Howard at 19 huh? A Buc? This is freaking awesome!

  25. Dave Says:

I will give props to BLAKE and LIFE for mentioning Howard/TE in the past.
I did not see it for two reasons.
    1. Brate has been excellent
    2. I thought Howard would be gone top 10

Very happy with that pick though

  26. BuccaneEric75 Says:

I think Nole might need that Korean fireman to save him!

  27. DR FEELGOOD Says:

Wide right devil. We DID utilize this dude!!! And he’s a badass!!! We utilized his awesome blocking skills to unleash our multiple 5 star RBs on people while our defense stayed fresh and devoured teams. And when defenses pinches in, he was a play action beast! Once we get our RB, we shall be lethal!! No way he should’ve been there at 19. He upgrades our OL and our passing game with one selection. Enjoy, Bucs fans!!! He’s special.

  28. Buc1987 Says:

Draft’s too deep to trade up for Cook at this point.

Let the draft come to them. Mack in the 3rd and give Smitty love in the 2nd or every girl’s hero Mixon in the 2nd.

  29. DallasBuc Says:

Makeup pick for screwing the pooch on Sefarian-Jergens!

  30. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Dave, I was posting about OJ the same time as Blake, until Joe started responding how dumb that was, then I let it go. lol . I’m still waiting for the “Jason Licht Bash” article soon! Lol

  31. BuccoDav Says:

It’s a shame, but pretty predictable, that NOS didn’t show up on the boards tonight and face it like a man…

  32. Rob Says:

Great point dr. .he will help our offensive line but he’ll help in the passing game and the running game. So he’s going to help Jamis with some amazing catches. He’s going to help Jamis with some amazing blocks. And he’s going to help all running backs get through some wide-open holes

  33. jmoneyisback Says:

One good college game made this guy a first round draft pick. Amazing. Ask yourself why the #1 TE out of high school barely got 1500 yards in his college career and a whopping 7 TDs in what has proven to be a very mediocre conference. LOL. What a waste.

  34. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Dave..thanks..I kept mentioning him for months..I didn’t think we would get him since we picked at 19..NEVER did I think all the craziness from the teams ahead of us, wanting a QB that bad…

When I saw he kept dropping down, my son called me from work and told me..”Mum, looks like you’re getting OJ Howard”..

Until Titans were done, I didn’t want to believe it…

  35. BuccoDav Says:

    Eric,
Why would you let Joe take you off your spot? He’s been terrible at taking the pulse of this team… Johnny Football…

    Rob said it the best..exactly!

  37. Buc Fan South Tampa Says:

    Damn skippy

  38. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Top 10 pick at 19 great job bucs!!!!!! # weapons for Winston

  39. Blake_bucsfan Says:

^ O.J. is the complete package and had way more than just one good game, even if it didnt show up on the stat sheet.

It’s simple really dude, Bama is a run 1st offense. Amari Cooper was the focal point 3 years ago, Derick Henry was 2 years ago, and they used him as a blocker very frequently.

Calling it now, O.J. Howard, within Dirk’s scheme, will be the best Receiving weapon drafted in 2017.

    Mark it down non-believers.

O.J. falling to us at 19 is a straight up gift from God.

  40. jmoneyisback Says:

    The Bucs will regret this.

  41. JonBuc Says:

I agree Blake….never thought he’d ever fall to 19…some “mocks” had him top 5-6. I’m thrilled!

  42. DR FEELGOOD Says:

jmoneyisback. You have no clue to say what you said. You obviously haven’t watched him play. He hasn’t had only one good game. You have to look at the philosophy of Bama, which I stated in my previous post. OJ Howard is a unique talent, and I know you’ll look back on this pick happily. Teams cannot defend Evans, Jackson, Brate, Howard, Humphries. Period.

  43. JonBuc Says:

For those of us longer in the tooth, shorter on patience…this is Jimmie Giles all over again…great hands, speed…hope he wears #88 as well!

  44. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

    Alabama barely used Howard’s talents.
Tampa is now a scary scary team.
I mean, if you are a defensive coordinator, who do you cover ?

  45. LifeOfABucFan Says:

JonBuc, someone sent me a Tweet today with OJ wearing a number 88 Bucs jersey..even my Twitter followers, all 2000 knew I wanted OJ!!

  46. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Saints players already commenting on our guys!!! LMFAO!!!! They’re like bring them on!! LOLOL!!!!

  47. Gencoimports Says:

He and Jackson will make every other receiver and back on this team better, including Evans.

  48. cmurda Says:

Every girl’s hero. LOL. Well done 87.

I’ll be happy with either Mixon or if we somehow have Dalvin fall to us. If they get picked before our 2nd rd pick, then go defense in the 2nd and think Mack or Alvin at RB in the 3rd rd.

  49. DPewter Says:

Love how all these “fans” wanted Dalvin. I’ve been saying TE since day one, 4 years running calling bucs first round pick. Suck it Joe!

Bucs became a top 5 offense with this pick.

  50. Mo_Downs Says:

    OJ Howard..??

Yes, The Force is strong in this one..!!

  51. SOEbuc Says:

Hell yeeeees!!!! Dont know how he dropped to us. Top receiving and blocking TE!!! So freakin beautiful!!!

  52. ptwalk Says:

I wanted Cook, but this is a gift. Did believe he could possibly be there. If we get Mixon or Cook this will be the scariest offense in the NFL.

  53. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Bucco, Blake started firing back at Joe before I was even awake, so I just let him do it for me! Lol!

  54. The bucfan 88 Says:

I already believe we are a team nobody wants to play period if we get cook or mixion we will be a contender

  55. DPewter Says:

DB in the 2nd hopefully Buddha Baker and a RB in the 3rd. Perine would be a godsend but Marlon could work.

  56. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Ive loved Howard, but the only thing that worries me is his college production. I know they say he wasn’t used properly and Saban came out and said that he didn’t know what he had, but talk is talk and how could a coach like Saban possibly not know what he had when he coached him for three years or so? I know he’s a defensive coach, but either Saban is the dumbest coach on Earth, is too stubborn to change his offense, or he is just talking up his player. One of these is true. Which one?

  57. biff barker Says:

This guy can fly. Love the YAC potential. When Koetter and Licht said they wanted speed they weren’t kidding.

  58. unbelievable Says:

I’m with you Blake, this is who I wanted most, although I would have been okay with 1 or 2 of the DT/DEs….

It’s a good day in Tampa Bay!

  59. Lunchbox Says:

This is the first pick in a LONG TIME that I jumped up and cheered!!! This is a GREAT pick. Just reinforces my belief that Licht will go down as the best GM in Bucs history if he isn’t already!! AWESOME!!!

  60. biff barker Says:

How Saban used him is irrelevant. The skills are all there. How Koetter uses him is all that matters.

  61. Lunchbox Says:

Now if we could either get Mixon (he won’t be there), or Willis in the 2nd, and if Willis, Perine Mack, or Hunt in the 3rd, we’re GOOD.

  62. BuccaneEric75 Says:

When I think of Winston throwing to OJ, I think of the Pro Bowl with Winston throwing to Walker! YAC TDs, baby! Like I’ve said, our 2 TE set will send confusion throughout the defense. Run? Pass? PA? Who knows! Using OJ to block instead of a 6th OLman will help the run game and the pass game. This isn’t a luxury pick, this is a game changer! Let’s play right now!

  63. Blake_bucsfan Says:

^ So freaking true brother. I have never been more confident in Jason Licht than I am right now.

2017 will be another grandslam year for our ACDC lovin’ General Managers.

Can. Not. Wait for Week 2 against Duh Bears. Ray Jay will be rocking all year long. This year is gon a be special.

  64. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    Manager*

  65. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Yea Blake, Koetter said that Licht told him OJ was the only player that he wouldn’t trade back if he was still on the board! Got his guy!

  66. Oxycondoms Says:

congrats to licht for not getting overexcited like last year when he traded up for aguyao . You can tell there is an anxious side to him that probably led to that move last year

  67. NFLNut Says:

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stumped for O.J. right from the start and explained that Jameis loves 2-TE sets and that OJ Howard would be the best possible pick as he is a true 3-down TE that never needs to come of the field … however I didn’t actually think he would still be on the board at #19 as the chatter was he could go high as #4 or at the lowest #10.

OJ is the type of player that could be with Jameis for the next 10+ years, have a HOF career and be one of the best TE’s to ever play the game!

    I AM STOKED!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I will say that if we get Cook or JOE MIXON, we could have the scariest, most talented, most dynamic and flat-out BEST group of 5 skill players in the entire NFL.

Mike Evans and D-Jax on the outside with OJ and Brate on the line and either Cook or Mixon in the backfield … NO DEFENSE COULD MATCH UP WITH THAT … that would be sick!!!!!

  68. delson Says:

Alabama didn’t have a qb for howard. But when he got the ball he showed his playmaking ability.

  69. bucNation Says:

dalvin, kamara, mixon, foreman all still available in guessing at least 1 is still there when we pick

  70. USMC-Buc Says:

    Few big notes.

    1. He never steps out of bounds on his own

    2. His explosiveness and ability to get deep quickly off the line is amazing, 3 second drops he’s 30 yards down the field

    3. His ability to run screens, wow a TE who can take a screen behind the line of scrimage for 15 or more yards is impressive, that gives the play caller a very rare and hard to guard play.
