Are Bucs Primed For All-In Free Agency Move?

January 14th, 2017
CalaisCampbell

Gargantuan Pro Bowl DE/DT Calais Campbell could be an instant game-changer.

Everything the Bucs have done since their season ended smells like a team ready to push all its chips into the pot.

Just look at the power play on Mike Smith yesterday.

Team Glazer and Jason Licht are not messing around.

And why should they? The Bucs were 9-7, beat stud teams like Seattle, Kansas City and Atlanta, and they have a mountain of salary cap room and a franchise quarterback, in addition to key veterans in their primes.

Tomorrow is today.

Joe’s been eyeing manbeast Pro Bowl Cardinals defensive end/defensive tackle Calais Campbell, who is one hell of a player and a durable one. The 6-8, 285-pound monster has missed six games in his nine-year career.

Campbell, 30, is coming off an eight-sack season and is a versatile force, especially for a coordinator like Smith, who isn’t afraid to adapt to players’ strengths.

Cardinals media has been writing for months about how Arizona likely will let Campbell test the free agent market in March. Word is they won’t pay him the roughly $10 million per year he’ll command.

So what about the Bucs? They’ve got the cash, and Campbell would qualify as a championship move, a real upgrade to the run and pass defense.

He’s not Simeon Rice, but he’s a player that legitimately keeps offensive coordinators up at night.

Campbell is a model citizen and a documented philanthropist, and an on-field terror that general manager Jason Licht knows all about from his days as a personnel chief with the Cardinals.

Yesterday, Father Dungy told JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman that the Bucs just need one more “guy on each side of the ball who can turn a game around.” Campbell could be that defensive guy, if you share Dungy’s full take on the state of the Bucs.

Joe would applaud a Campbell signing. But the Bucs certainly have all kinds of directions they could explore and take for a massive-impact move in free agency.

Joe just hopes the Bucs keep the urgency flowing through the 2017 offseason.

Or JPP. We may even get the 3 finger discount, but has to be a long term deal. He will not sign anymore one year “prove it”contracts. Still a beast! Campbell would be ok too, but will be much more expensive.

  2. BuccaneerByBirth Says:

So what, give him Gholston’s money?

  3. Birdman Says:

The Cards run a 3-4 though.. Campbell is a hell of a player, and maybe the scheme wouldnt matter much, but I think we’d prefer a 4-3 guy.
I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I wouldn’t mind JPP at all, and I bet he wouldn’t mind coming back to Tampa.

  4. Trubucfan22 Says:

Campbell is a pass rushing will gholston. A guy who can run stop and rush the passer. I would love to add a guy of his versatility to the d line. He could play any position on the d line in passing downs. And be a dominant run stopper at DE. Screw gholston, upgrade that roster spot and sign Calais!

Great talent can’t be taught. A new scheme can be.

  5. Kalind Says:

Rather have JPP and he’s from around Tampa. Bring him home.

Also, Dontari Poe, Eric Berry are musts. Love to get Kirpatrick (CB) as well.

  6. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I’d take CC and JPP over Poe and Berry.

There’s no reason why We couldn’t fill Calais Campbell into Clint Macs position.

Can you imagine a starting D-line of Noah spence, Calais Campbell, Geral Mccoy, and Jason Pierre-Paul. With Rob ayers, Clint Mac, Akeem Spence, and Will Gholston as DEPTH!

I can see Jay Hayes doing freaking DAMAGE with a rotation that stacked.

  10. PABucsLover Says:

Campbell is a very nice player, but for 10 million? Seems a little hefty, for a player on the wrong side of 30. While Smith can adapt play calls, Campbell could, just my opinion, play some DT since he’s from a 3-4 or be rotational with Ayers on the end. I’d still like to see the Bucs pursue Kenny Stills from MIA. Great vertical threat and also is only 24! Everyone wanting Berry, the chance that KC let’s him go are low. I would focus our attention to Jacksonville’s safety.

No first round RB please. WR if Davis is there. Invest in the trench.

  15. @Hands2theface Says:

Brandon Williams, DT of the Ravens is perfect for run stuffing.

  16. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

JPP didn’t even consider Tampa last off season. I wouldn’t expect him to sign here.

  17. NutterBuccer Says:

Campbell could easily come in and start at DT next to McCoy. I like that idea a lot. And resign Gholston as well. Ayers, Campbell, McCoy, Gholston, how do you run on that? And spence and jac smith coming in on third down along with McDonald as depth. He may be 30, but we have plenty of youth on this team, now is the time to get solid proven players that are home run signings even if you have to pay a little too much. Cut verner and Doug Martin and boom there’s 13 million to give to cambell.

  18. Poor Glennon Says:

One big name signing!!! We are not winning the SuperBowl next season. We are trying to make the playoffs. Nobody comes from out of nowhere and wins the Bowl. It’s a process. I think they should sign 5 cheaper depth guys. One will surprise and become a starter. One or two will be disappointing and get released. Two or three will be quality backups. With this kind of cap cash. I don’t want to hear all the injury excuses this year. Other teams are down key players all the time. But it’s next man up because they have quality depth. All teams have injurys. Having poor WR depth was the GM”s fault. The team had a v good season. But Light is still on the hot seat. His drafts and FA signings have been questionable. Owners need to make sure he’s not gunna sign a bunch of costly high risk free agents to save his job!!!

  19. macabee Says:

My FA list in order of preference:

    1. DE JPP
    2. LG Kevin Zeitler (only if JR Sweezy not available)
    3. CB A.J. Bouye
    4. WR Terelle Pryor (don’t overpay)
    5. RT Rick Wagner

Pick any three! We get better!

  20. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The only knock on Calais Campbell is his age. He may have been durable in the past, but he’s going to turn 31 just before the season starts. That is when the injuries start happening for most players, especially line players. He’s going to want 3-5 years too.

He’s a good plan if we can’t get Jason Pierre-Paul. He would buy us time until next year. But he’s not going to be a sack monster for us.

I really, really want Jason Pierre-Paul. Wanted him last year too. He won’t turn 29 until the post season next year. If the Giants are dumb enough to let him go, Licht needs to offer the farm.

Then we could go 90% offense in the draft.

  21. Pick6 Says:

10 mil is about what the bucs are paying ayers. the team can certainly afford it, and Campbell’s consistency should make them comfortable in pursuing him at that price. Of course, many other teams flush with cap room and playoff promise will be thinking the same thing

  22. Poor Glennon Says:

Garcon is a FA. SIGN HIM!!!!!!!! 6M per for 3 years.

  23. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    My dream Free Agent acquisitions.

Latavius Murray RB: Competant NFL Every down Starting back.

Kenny Stills WR: Speed and hands baby. Would fill the role of a solid #2 that could stretch the field for ME13. Shouldn’t break the bank.

Cordaralle Patterson KR/PR: Explosive returner and open field runner, potent screen Catcher(LOL)

Terrance Williams WR: Legit #3 with solid speed.

Calais Campbell DT: Big tall freak. Makes tons of plays in the running game, and generates pressure on the QB. Can play DE in obvious running situations. Big Improvement over Clint Mac.

Jason Pierre-Paul EDGE: Stud defensive end when healthy, gets to the QB and is very effective in Run Defense. Plays predominantly on the right. Also Represents an upgrade over Will Gholston

Byron Bell RT: Solid starting RT. Started for the 9-7 Titans and contributed to the league leading Rushing attack. Bring him in and let him compete with Demar Dotson for the starting Job. Worst case scenario he is a hell of a lot better than Swinging Door Cherilus.

  24. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I feel strongly that with those Additions, and Drafting say, O.J. Howard in the First Round of the draft, Derrick Brooks prediction of a playoff win could become a reality.

  25. Mojiska Says:

You get him and poe, run downs you have ayers, poe, gmc, campbell. Passing downs you play ayers, Campbell at dt, gmc and Spence. Resign gholston for depth (versatile) and our line is pretty well set for a few more years. Focus on o line, wr, secondary in draft.

  26. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @poor glennon
U sound like an idiot. If there is a GM with the LEAST amount of heat on his seat in the league it’s Licht

  27. Poor Glennon Says:

DE is tough. Get 6 sacks…nobody wants you. Get 5 legit sacks and 4 garbage time sacks. When the opposing team is down big. And everybody is willing to overpay for 9 sacks

  28. Red86 Says:

Dungy I love ya, but we need more than one guy on both side of the ball.

  29. ndog Says:

After watching Campbell on wired he is exactly the kind of player/leader that Licht looks for.

  30. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Last year in free agency the Giants Signed 10+ Unrestricted Free agents from other teams, as well as a couple of there own players. And went from a team that was almost there, into a playoff squad.

I’m Asking for 7 or 8, and of course bringing back our own guys the matter, Gholston/ Mcdougald and so on.

We can freaking do it! Lets make it to the Show baby!

  31. Erik w/ Clean Athletics 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans' Says:

Anyone who definitively says ‘We’re not winning the Superbowl next year’ is a pessimistic moron.

We’ve had 2 years in a row where we could’ve made the playoffs with a few plays going our way that didn’t.

This team is on verge of breaking out and becoming dominant.

Which could definitely happen next season and could also possibly result in a Superbowl.

Sorry if the truth is too harsh for the pessimists to handle, but that’s the Truth.

  32. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

I’ve been saying it JOE, we have to buy the chip this year, but that’s not in a bad way. Poe is who i want, sign him and JPP for defense. Sign Pryor and Stills and you get your #WeaponsforWinston
If not JPP then yea Campbell. But it’s time to go all in, spend to the max, close to it anyway after you resign GODZILLA Evans
Man this offseason is gonna be the best ever to enjoy. Mark my words Glazers keep ticket prices reasonable and that stadium will once again have a waiting list. These BUCS are different… Truly a different mind state now

    WhatdaBuc,

You and my wife would make great shopping buddies. I have to remind her when she leaves for the mall, remember we’re going to need food too! lol.

According to OTC, the Bucs have 70mil in cap space and maybe 7mil more depending what they do with the Martin guarantee. So they’re loaded, but have to resign some of 17 FAs, set aside about 7mil for the draft class, and may want to extend Mike Evans now rather than later.

The cap has been going up at about 10mil a year, but some planning will be needed to extend Winston which will be huuuge!

In principle I’m with you, but remember, we’re going to need some food too! lol.

Oh and thanks for coming by macabee.

  39. Defense Rules Says:

Poor Glennon, you got me thinking about what we should expect next year. Super Bowl? Probably not, given how many starting ‘holes’ we have now and our obvious lack of depth. Playoffs? We’ve got a decent chance, although I expect the Falcons to stay strong, the Panthers to bounce back (not sure how far), and the Saints to probably stay close to an even record.

Looks to me like the Bucs have to make some significant changes just to make the playoffs. In 2016 we ranked #18 in offense and #15 in defense (points). In the last 50 yrs, the average defensive rank for a Superbowl winner was 5.63 while the average offensive rank was 6.10 (the combined rank average … CRA … of the two was 5.87). So we have to improve considerably to join company like that. It’d be nice to improve on BOTH sides of the ball, but several recent SB winners have shown that’s not absolutely necessary (like the Giants in 2011 & 2007, the Saints in 2009 and the Steelers in 2008 … all had a CRA over 10 but were typically good on either offense or defense).

With the outstanding coaching staff that we have, my suspicion though is that the Bucs will try to improve our ranking considerably in these next 2 years on BOTH sides of the ball. Improving in the trenches will be a primary focus I think (our run defense was not playoff caliber by any means, and our running attack left a LOT to be desired). With several DLinemen coming back from IR, the addition of a DE like Campbell AND a DT like Poe will give Smitty the ‘beef’ he craves on defense. On the offensive side, would still like to see us ‘beef up’ our OLine, to improve the running game & short passing game especially.

  40. Defense Rules Says:

macabee … Love the food analogy.

  41. Eric Says:

Can’t get excited about free agents.

They put on s bucs jersey and suddenly suck.

  42. Stpetebucsfan Says:

Sign ME13 to a long term contract now before it gets even more expensive.
    That’s my first move.

My next move is to check with ME13 and see how he feels about Pryor. If both ME13 and #3 are cool with bringing in Pryor then give him VJAX money…he will be a better receiver than VJAX..he has 4.4 speed and is a gifted athlete.

If ME13 and #3 sign off then we’ve upgraded our WR’s dramatically and added team speed.

Then draft Dalvin Cook! Another 4.4 40 coming out of the backfield and he can catch the ball.

Take the rest of draft picks and spend them on the BPA in the trenches on either side of the ball…for me preferably the D line depending on who we get in FA.

  43. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

    Macabee
Hilarious but great analogy. I hate shopping though, being a dude. But seriously, I know we some interesting choices to make. Crucial to the run.
Yea and like ’87 said come by more

  44. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

    St Pete
Yep if #13 signs off, damn I hope so. Then it’s all bad for the rest of the league. I ask you though if Cook is gone and OJ Houston is there. Do we grab him or Fournette
We usually agree from what I see. So your opinion would mean a lot. Thanks

  45. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    OJ Houston?

  46. Natedawg Says:

We need a kicker priority number 1

  47. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

Yea Blake, best TE or 2nd best RB

  48. salish_seamonster Says:

I’m on board with whoever Licht and Koetter think can most benefit the team. That said, a monster DE like Campbell would fire me up! People have their FA fantasy lists, but the coach and front office are working with more information and know what kind of people they want to bring into the locker room.

  49. Stpetebucsfan Says:

There has been a lot of chatter about how RB’s are easier than WR’s to find in later rounds and that you should never spend a 1st rounder on a RB. I think too much is being made about position…game changers are game changers and RB’s can be just as effective as WR’s. Let’s see where the top ten at RB and WR were drafted.

    Running backs
    1) Elliott 4th overall pick…high first rounders bust 20% less than the last 1st rounders…remember the bust rate climbs significantly within each round…at 19 we’re in the center of the first.
    2.) Jordan Howard 5th
3.) Demarco Murray high 3 rounder
    4.) Jay Ajayi 5th
5.) Leveon Bell Mid second rounder
6.) Lesean McCoy later in the 2nd round
    7.) David Johnson 3rd round
8.) Blount UFDA…fell out of the draft after his sucker punch against Boise State which went viral. Not really a good example although there. Although I get the fire that brought that about…it followed a game from the preceding year with lots of late hits…Blount fell victim to bad blood and lacked self restraint. Some folks here want to take a chance on Mixon…not sure about the bad blood that made him punch a woman…I pass thank you.
    9.) Devonta Freeman 4th round
    10.) Lamar Miller 4th round
Some great recent backs…AP 4th overall!!!! Marshawn Lynch 7th overall!!!
    WR’s
    1.)TY Hilton 3rd round
2.) Julio Jones 1st round 6th overall with five pick tossed in by Atl to move up!
He’s arguably the best in the league but were the 5 picks worth it?
    3.) Odell Beckham 1st round 12th overall
    4.) Mike Evans 1st round 7th overall
    5.) Antonio Brown 6th round 21 WR’s selected ahead of him!!! ****
    6.) Jordy Nelson 2nd round
    7.) Brandin Cooks 1st round
    8.) Amari Cooper 1st round 4th overall
    9.) Michael Thomas 2nd round
    10.) Jarvis Landry 2nd round

You guys make want you want out of this. IMHO the draft is a crap shoot and you take your best shot. The average draft position of WR’s versus the RB’s is not that much higher. All Pro players at WHATEVER position normally require high draft picks…then there are always the diamonds that are occassionally discovered.

If I did this for MLB’s wonder how many are 4th rounders like Kwon.
You can have your favorite players but their position shouldn’t be the determining factor other than team need. Dalvin Cook in the 1st makes as much sense as Mike Williams or any other WR.
I think perhaps the ONE place we all agree is that the draft will be a product of our FA moves.

I do not know if we’ll be able to get Cook and certainly not Fournette because we won’t wish to pay the price to move up…I like the big guy from Texas but again I do not follow it like LUV and some others here. They are the guys! Last year I can honestly say I learned as much from JBF posters about the draft as I did Walter Football or other experts.

Again bottom line…I think there is a LOT of luck in the draft. Outside of QB though you should be able to find at least a starter in the first two or three.

Watch this and tell me you wouldn’t want O.J Howard over Cook.

Imagine what Jameis could do with a Tight end of his caliber. Who would Defenses double team in the Redzone? Mike, Cam, or O.J.

Our offenses 2 biggest problems this year were stalling out in the Redzone, and Lack of a running game. This a really deep draft for Running backs, and thats without even including Joe Mixon. Plus there is a guy named Latavius Murray who’s an Unrestricted FA.

I Think that O.J. has the potential to be a Gronk/Jimmy Graham/ Tony G Type talent in the near future. And we all know what Koetter did with Tony G in Atlanta.

I am really hoping we have a shot at him at 19.

  57. Trubucfan22 Says:

I think licht looks a lot at the leadership qualities when he is looking at FA Vets.

Who is the responsible Vet WR on this team? For years jackson was that vet leadership for WRs. Without him there is a large void. We need to fill that. Kenny stills is a solid deep threat, but his attitude has made him expendable to team. If he signs someone where else this off season it would be his third team in 3 years. If his formers teams are taking a pass on such a young talent, them that tells me he isnt a high character guy. And probably not someone the bucs will pursue. I could be wrong. But i think licht is very conscience of the type of players he signs. That first year bit him in he butt, hes since learned from those mistakes.

If we got Mixon in the 3rd and Jake Butt with his injured knee in the 4th, that’s 3 first round talents in the first 4 rounds. What do u think?

  61. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Think about this also guys. Out of the 4 teams playing today we have beat 3 of them this year. And 3 of the last four with the failclowns. We are a few pieces and plays away from being on TV this time next year

  63. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Sorry, forgot about the other 2 games. Lol still 3 out of 8 is ok

  64. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    Blake

I love Howard but there is at least one other TE, the kid from Miami…but I just think we get more out of a stud RB in our offense than a stud TE.

I get how Koetter used Gonzalez a generational HOF TE…But DK will use whatever weapons he has.

    I’m not a Nole…nor a Gator…nor a Bull…I root for all three teams as a Floridian.

But I haven’t seen anybody explode like Cook! He’s through the hole in a nansecond and the DB’s can’t catch him. He can catch out of the backfield.

Imagine you’re a DC…you have ME13 to worry about…then on the other side the 6-4 225 Pryor who also brings 4.4 speed and athleticism and can take the back end off of a D…now you have Cook who will be one of the fastest men on the field and can catch out of the backfield.

Oh…and then you still have Brate for your possession receiver and red zone threat along with ME and Pryor.

Here is what I want next year…I never again want to see a Doug type get into the secondary only to be hauled down from behind…I’m tired of having no speed at WR!

Just TWO players…Pryor and Cook make us incredibly explosive on offense.

There are others..I’m open to suggestion…but I want SPEED…I want to EXPLODE on offense. We have the QB…we have an OC oriented HC who is very creative….show me the speed…

Ultimately you draftniks give me this…I want to lineup and know that on EVERY play there is the possibility we can score six from anywhere on the field.

Pryor and Cook give us that speed…but I’m sure there are other combos.

U know I love me some Dalvin, but I think I have come to the conclusion that cook will not be there when we pick and it will cost ALOT to move up and get him

  67. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

St.Pete he a hater. He had a personal beef with Dalvin Cook. Must’ve boned his girl or something. Wish I could be around him to see his face draft night.

  68. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @Mike Evans Goat

Were Davis available there, then heck yes, I would love to draft him. However I think that Mike Williams will go top 10 and that Davis will probably get snagged 10-17. I don’t even talk about Fournette anymore, because as much as I love him as a prospect its almost certain that he’ll be a top ten pick.

O.J. Howard I think has at least a 50 50 shot at being there for us at 19. Let me put it this way, Were Cook and Howard both there, I’d still take Howard lol.

But yeah I think that Corey Davis is a beast, and that Mixon would be a steal of a pick in the 3rd round, since he hasn’t had any problems during his time at OU, and would most likely be a 1st rounder if not for his offense as a minor. Haven’t looked at Jake Butt, but i’ll tell you that I’m not a fan of drafting players with recent significant Knee injuries.

All in all I’m with you tho Goat.

  69. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I feel what you saying GOAT. But what I’ve noticed over the years is how done guys end up in cities that are geographically near the area they played in school. I’m telling you we won’t have to move he’ll be there at 19.

  70. WhatdaBUCisthis Says:

    Yes Blake lmao my bad.
And yes I look at @LUVMYBUCS like our accountant. Just like the movie… Love it
St Pete. Yea there are more knowledgeable posters here, but like I said. Great minds think alike
What a difference this year was. No bickering or fighting on here lately. Just everybody screaming for THEIR favorite wish list to take us on this run
    Awesome

  71. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    1) Elliott 4th overall pick…high first rounders bust 20% less than the last 1st rounders…remember the bust rate climbs significantly within each round…at 19 we’re in the center of the first.
    2.) Jordan Howard 5th
3.) Demarco Murray high 3 rounder
    4.) Jay Ajayi 5th
5.) Leveon Bell Mid second rounder
6.) Lesean McCoy later in the 2nd round
    7.) David Johnson 3rd round
    8.) Blount UFDA…

Dont Know about you NosBos but I saw ONE 1st round Rb picked on that list.

And I’m telling you right now, Cook is so over hyped its not even funny. Watch, in 5 years he’ll be a middle of the pack back.

  72. LUVMYBUCS Says:

  75. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    @StPete

The main difference between David Njoku and O.J. Howard, other than the fact that Howard probably out weighs him by 20 pounds, is that Njoku is a Tight end in the vain of Tim Wright, he cant block to save his skin. Howard is Motherfreaking animal and manhandles opposing DE’s and Linebackers, both off the line of scrimmage, and in the open field.

    Everybody talking RB n WR
What about D. Smith replacement for SLB?
Any thoughts. I drew a blank thinking about this
    S.o.S

  77. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

So let me get this str8 there experts making comparisons to Charles,McCoy and Faulk but my eyes deceive me when it comes to what I watched from the kid the Kat three years. Really guy???

  78. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Move – Utility Back Alan Cross – over to Long Snapper

Draft Jaylen Samuels as the new HB

  79. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@NosBos your eyes can tell you what ever you want. And we can argue until the cows come home. How bout this, I bet you $50 that Dalvin Cook does not end up a Buccaneer. And I’ll bet $100 you that in 5 years time, People are no longer talking about Dalvin Cook as a “dynamic” runnning back.

Can you put your money where your mouth is? I can.

  80. Pete Mitchell Says:

I’m sick of hearing how 10 million is a lot for a good football player just because he’a thirty years old.. I sure hope the Glaziers don’t turn back into tight wads. News flash… the cap is going up!!!! 10 mil in the NFL today ain’t the same as it was five years ago. Plus if someone doesn’t want good football players on their team because they would have to pay them then they should get involved in a university. This is NFL, with very few exceptions talented rosters cost money. We have a solid young core and relentless leaders on both sides of the ball in Jameis and Kwon. Spending upwards of 10-12 mil a year on a guy like Campbell should be a no brainer. Let’s do this. Let’s go BUCS!!!

  81. USFBUC Says:

Leggett out of Clemson is the TE we need to draft if we can’t land Howard. Leggett had a huge game against Bama and a defense filled with NFL players.

  82. Rod Munch Says:

Everyone has money – that’s the issue. Players will have to want to come here. Not sure we’re at that point yet, but Jameis recruiting FA’s might be the most important thing we have going, just not sure of the 22 year old has that kind of pull around the league quite yet.

  83. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ watthebucisdis
Daryle Smiths replacement us already on the rost, his name is Devante Bond. We have some good back up Lbs, plus you don’t want to spend alot of $ for a guy who isn’t on the field when wE are in nickel. And with all of these 5 wide sets teams are in nickel much more than they used to be.

  84. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ rod
JW3 is 23 now. Lol just sayin

  85. LUVMYBUCS Says:

If Jalen Reeves-Maybin, has recovered from his injury – and enters the draft.
He would be a nice late round pick-up

Any thoughts. I drew a blank thinking about this

    FA
    • A.J. Klein

    or

    Draft
    • Jalen Reeves-Maybin

  89. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I don’t see the point of discussing the draft until we know the free agents that are brought in, and the free agent surprises that hit the market.

  90. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Blake_bucsfan

    Got LUV for Pee-Rhine.
Hopefully we pick’em up in the 4th or 5th round.

But the only kid that really reminds me of Sproles – is Tarik Cohen

Get a bar of this kid

    Tarik Cohen
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsimHbxxFd8

  91. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@LUVMYBUCS DUDE I LOVE TARIK COHEN! His tape is freaking awesome! And you’re right, now that I think about it Perine is more MJD like than sproles.

Yeah I would love Tarik in the 5th or 6th if we were to pick up L. Murray in Free agency.

  92. Blake_bucsfan Says:

My favorite tarik cohen play is the one where his Qb fumbles the handoff and he picked it up and runs it past the whole D for like 50 yards. He is certainly a shift littl little bugger, My only concern about him is that he played against nothing Defenses.

  93. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    *shifty

  94. Pickgrin Says:

Agree Joe – its time to move all in. “Win Now” mode from this moment forward.

We have 2 years to play with $ wise until Jameis, Kwon, Marpet and D. Smith will be eating up a good chunk of our salary cap. Evans too after this year or more likely they will use some of this year’s cap space and $ to give Mike a new deal and can front load it a bit to save some cap space for down the road.

  95. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Blake_bucsfan

Lol, yeah the kid’s vision, and athleticism – is unreal.

  96. macabee Says:

    LUVMYBUCS,

Did this mock for PR last week!

    MACABEE 2017 MOCK DRAFT

Draft Strategy – Weapons for Jameis Winston

    RD1 – WR Corey Davis
    RD2 – TE Bucky Hodges/Jordan Leggett
    RD3 – DE Tanoh Kpassagnon
    RD4 – DT Nazair Jones
    RD5 – WR Josh Reynolds/Kenny Golladay
    RD6 – SS Nate Gerry
    RD7 – KR/PR Tarik Cohen

The Bucs need a daring and exciting KR/PR. I am impressed with the toughness and vision of Tarik “The Human Joystick” Cohen out of North Carolina A&T. He could be another gadget guy ala Darren Sproles to bring another dimension to the offense.

  97. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Let’s go seahawks

  98. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Blake send me yo number or do I need to send mines??? I’ll take that bet.

  99. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    macabee

Over the years – I’ve always respected your draft picks.

    Questions?
-Tanoh Kpassagnon 3rd? I like the kid – but do you think he’ll go that high?
-I see no offensive line picks?
    -No late round corners either?

  100. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    That’s easy money. I’m (407) 600 1796. Ask for Mike bro.

  101. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    macabee

I buddy of mine lives in Greensboro – told me check out the kid on MaxPrep.
Couldn’t believe the kid’s acceleration from a dead stop.
    -Jump cuts like Barry Sanders.
-Plus he can take a lick.

    Rare Breed

  102. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    Alright! Lets go Hawks.

  103. Stpetebucsfan Says:

I think the draft is cyclical. For example we’ve all heard that this is a bad year for OL. If the cupboard is bare don’t force it.

Same is true for all positions. It’s been a good run for WR’s in the past few years with only Zeke as an All pro candidate at RB. That’s why I placed AP and Marshawn Lynch in the mix even though they’re no longer the major players.

I’m just thankful we got our QB when we did…it seems thin at QB to me this year.

For those trying to score the next Antonio Brown or the burner who blew up in KC this year IMHO there are two places you fish is you’re trying to find a steal.

It seems to me that most not all of the great late round picks are either tainted…it’s why Mixon will drop beneath his actual value making him a good pick if you like dudes who lose control so much they beat women…it’s also though why we got Noah Spence. There are youthful mistakes and there are players with mental issues…can you say Lawrence Phillips…greatest RB evah next to Jim Brown..a mental mess…or Richie Incognito…personally messed up on 4-5 teams….or Noah or #3 who just pulled immature stunts.

The safest and best place to gamble is perhaps going to the small school route.

All you guys pimping Corey Davis may be on to something. Everything about him appears to be great except the level of competition…same conference as Antonio Brown! And we all know the Jerry Rice story.

We’re all going to be arguing over RB versus WR versus the trenches and yet this year’s draft is actually loaded up with Safeties….really good safeties.

Jabrill Peppers has been compared to Charles Woodson and he’s the 3rd best safety on many boards behind OSU’s Malik Hooker…Two top national scouts from NFC teams said that Hooker’s skill set is the best they’ve seen from a safety since Eric Berry. But forgeddahboutit! He’s a top ten pick

But then comes Jamal Adams from LSU another great safety and of course Peppers.

I would not be shocked at all to see us pick a safety with the 19th or better still maybe even able to trade back and pick up some picks and still get either Peppers or Adams depending on the teams ahead of us needs.

Think Smitty would love a great safety who can cover and perhaps free his corners for more man to man…just speculating here. Not to mention would a great safety FINALLY put an end to TE’s tearing us new one?

  104. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    macabee

What No LUV for – Damontae Kazee, CB, San Diego State?

  105. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@NosBos its a bet my dude. Easiest 50 bucks I ever made.

  106. Bucfaithful Says:

Joe I think Demarcus walker out of Florida state is the answer

  107. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Stpetebucsfan

Sorry , U know I respect your opinion Sir.
But I just don’t see a Peppers on the Defensive side of the ball.

  108. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    @LUV

You know the guys projected beneath the top two rounds waaay better than me.

If you sign off on them I’m cool. I look to you for rounds 4-6…and that’s where the real talent evaluation comes in….a player in the top two rounds is going to be good…it’s gets dicey after round 3.

  109. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Poor Glennon had one of the poorest posts I have ever seen. We have gone from 2 wins to 9 in two seasons and everyone is talking playoffs for next season. What planet are you from that you think Licht is on the hot seat. And for what its worth if they play their cards right in FA and the draft they may be contenders next year. Solid defense and a franchise QB are the key ingredients typically. If they can get a running game going, add a 2nd WR and add some key ingredients they may be ready!

  110. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    LUV

Well Hooker’s going to be long gone…how about Adams would he upset you?

How comfortable are you with Tandy and McDougald. Could we use a stud at S?

  111. Stpetebucsfan Says:

So Julio Jones just used and abused Richard Sherman. If that had been VHG our whiners would have slammed our guy instead of crediting the best WR in the game.

All DB’s get beat on occasion even the best!

  112. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Stpetebucsfan

Lol, neither one would upset me.
Was hoping the the kid from Texas A&M would enter the draft – Armani Watts.
But decided to stay another year.

Outside of that- I wouldn’t be opposed to us resigning McDougald.
An Picking up SS John Cyprien.

  113. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ luv
Don’t forget about budda baker @ S. They say he us more of a honey badger type player than peppers. Plus peppers has ZERO ball skills

  114. macabee Says:

    LUV,

Scroll up, see my FA picks for O-Line, CB. Bucs moved Ryan Smith back to CB too.

NFLDraftScout rated Kpassagnon – 3rd round. Charlie Campbell/WalterFootball has him going in the 2nd round. None of this means anything until Senior Bowl and Combine.

Pretty sure my mock will change a couple of times! lol.

  115. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Be sure an jot my number down Blake.

  116. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I mean I expect you can just pay me thru paypal. But you got it. I’ll be sure to hit up about my money.

  117. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    hit *you* up that is.

  118. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I’m ole school bro,ion bite hit me up.

  119. Stpetebucsfan Says:

Wow I’m watching a great game between to good teams….and then it hit me!!!

We beat both of them in the regular season. We ARE NOT THAT FAR AWAY!

  120. Erik w/ Clean Athletics 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans' Says:

In my view, Dalvin Cook (or OJ Howard, who I love) & Terrelle Pryor would put us over the hump to propel us to dominance and everything else in addition to those moves would be a bonus and just make us that much better…

We were seriously only a few plays away from achieving my 12-4 prediction for the season…1.Take away the Jude Adjai-Baremah Pass Interference in the Raiders game 2. Change the Jameis overthrow of Vjax in the Rams game and 3. Let us have had 1 drive on offense late in the Dallas game and we would’ve finished 12-4 this year with a possible Superbowl run on our hands…

  121. Pat Says:

Tony Dungy is right… The Bucs need one Playmaker on offense and one
Playmaker on defense and they are good to go. The important thing to note about what Dungy says is that the person is a Playmaker not just a starter like a very solid Darrell Smith. So… In both free agency and the draft Jason Licht should approach it that way one playmaker for the defense and one playmaker for the offense in free agency and in the first two rounds draft guys that are not only BPA but definitely playmakers- 1 Offense and 1 Defense. This seems to make the most sense instead of trying to throw a bunch of darts at every position that we could use an upgrade. It would be more wise to take a more surgical approach to building the team at this point

  122. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Julio beastly. Think anyone in those stands concerned about what they gave up to get him Blake. Answer: @ H3ll no!!!.

  123. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Alvin Kamara any1? Good rb who can be had late 2nd or 3rd round. They say he will be a workout warrior so he may rise a little.

  124. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

And keep corey davis, the next Julio Mike Williams.

  125. JameisDungy Says:

I hope Bucs fans are watching the Falcons.

As much as we like Humphries are you seeing what a true speed threat like Gabriel brings to an offense?

We need two of those guys.

  126. Deminion Says:

I would love Goliath Campbell!!! Put him anywhere on the line…. and get a RT and WR in FA we good !!!

  127. Pat Says:

Are the Atlanta Falcons the most talent depraved NFL franchise of all time? They certainly have a couple of players now that are pretty good that’s for sure but throughout their history anybody who was good such as Brett Favre and Deion Sanders made their mark on other teams not with the Falcons. Wow… they have got to be the most boring and uneventful NFL team in history.

  128. SB with Jameis Says:

First off……….”U Can Put Cheese On them Grits”………..LOL….Only way to eat em.
Secondly I am loving the camaraderie going on and actual discussions occurring over how to better OUR team! It is SO Nice to Believe that we can be Contenders again. 🙂

  129. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@NosBos I love Mike Williams too, but Julio he is not. Julio Ran a 4.39. Mike Williams is probably closer to a 4.5 flat type of guy. Don’t get me wrong dude, I love everything I’ve seen from MW, but Julio is a different breed.

Also, I pray that Mike Williams has a long, productive, healthy career, but, The severity of the Neck injury he incurred in his sophmore year is definitely worrisome. Like I said I wish him the best but that is a scary injury history.

  130. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    Jameis Dungy

We need two of those guys.

Amen Jameis!!! I want us to be explosive next year with the ability to get six from anywhere on the field.

Two indeed….Pryor if ME vouches for him….and Dalvin Cook. We add two dudes with 4.4 speed at critical spots in the offense.

If Pryor doesn’t pass muster I wouldn’t mind Desean Jackson. By all accounts he still has some speed and he could be the 2017 version of Joey Galloway for us…a speed burner with a few years left.

  131. SB with Jameis Says:

    Stpetebucsfan Says:

    …………………………………………………..
    AAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNN
Leave it to one of my favorite posters to point this out to me. Guess I have been too busy lately.

  132. Blake_bucsfan Says:

And Dalvin Cook definitely isn’t in the same caliber athlete that Julio is. Julio Jones is 6’3 225 and moves faster than Cook. You simply cant compare Julio’s worth to a guy thats 5’11 205.

  133. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Dungy more than one way bro. Gab nice but Hump will be just as effective once there is another threat on the other side. Welker was never associated with speed.

  134. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

We get it blakester he boned your girl. Trust and believe I’ll be highlighting his entire career to you every highlight on the next level. Trust when it comes to that kid you will made to look stupid. A way you already appear when it comes to that young man.

  135. SB with Jameis Says:

Sup Mike………..Good to c ya man.

  136. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Again tell me why we people that get paid to analyze athletes are making Charles,McCoy and Faulk comparisons smart guy.

  137. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

F@$! what anyone thinks SB I love yo @$$ Big bro.

  138. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

You don’t think Dalvin could’ve made that exact cut Blakster??? Get real dude.

  139. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

See what a FSU RB can do for ya.. Dalvin 3x Freeman.

  140. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I wish you lived in the O. Cause I’d come see you bout my money.

  141. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

ME not quite Julio, but Dalvin more than Freeman. Imagine for a second people.

  142. Blake_bucsfan Says:

those same people that get paid to analyze are not always right. I could name countless examples but I’ll stick with 2. There were people in the media, and professional scouts, that thought Jared Goff was worthy of a first round pick.
And Tom brady was a 6th round draft pick with zero buzz of any kind in the media. Analysts are paid to talk, not to be right.

  143. Blake_bucsfan Says:

And we’ll see come Draft night, When Dalvin cook gets picked by the Ravens, or some other team ahead of us. And you owe me 50 bucks.

  144. SB with Jameis Says:

@Blake. I know Nos Bos personally. I can tell you that he is a man of his word. If he loses he will pay. Hope you will too. Betting and the losers paying is becoming a thing here on JBF.

  145. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Oh trust me SB, I’m no welcher. Like a lannister, I always pay my debts. But this bet right here? Easy money.

  146. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

OMG that man used goff as an example. And SB told you right, if I lose I’ll have you go to your local Wal mart and wire it to you.

  147. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

But tell me this Blake, why dose out make since for one of them to draft him and not us if he’s there at 19. According to you He has bust written all over him.

  148. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Lol why walmart? And am I wrong bro? Were people not hyping up Goff before the draft? I know i wasn’t imagining it.

  149. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Wal mart cause I don’t know you. And that’s easy.

  150. Blake_bucsfan Says:

He won’t be there at 19, and all kinds of people are overhyping him, and Running back needy teams will see the fools gold and take a bite.

  151. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

See what a FSU RB can do for you. Dalvin 3x Freeman.

  152. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

So you felt that way about LT,Faulk and McCoy and Charles??? They’re college numbers resemble each others.

  153. Blake_bucsfan Says:

All I can do is trust what my eyes tell me homie. And for some reason they tell me Dalvin aint gonna be all that. And If he goes to a team where they try and overuse him, he’s gonna get hurt.

  154. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

goff had a losing record in college. Nuff said.

  155. Blake_bucsfan Says:

That didn’t stop analyst’s from dubbing him as the #1 pick dude.

  156. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Your logic getting weaker bro. You try sticking to Fournette more to your liking because he’s a bigger back. This lameness you throwing now is light like Charmin toilet tissue paper.

  157. Stpetebucsfan Says:

The Falcon would have four more points if Dvonta was Dalvin.

Dalvin NEVER gets pulled down from behind with that kind of head start.

I’m taking something else from this game….the Falcons are freaking great on offense!!!

You better bring our A game or you get mauled. Now that loss doesn’t seem quite as embarrassing. When Matty Ice is on with JJ they’re tough to stop!

  158. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

No one thought goff was going to be good. Seems to me you’re the type that hangs your hat I everything the media says when sometimes its clearly not warranted. I’m cut from a different cloth bro.

  159. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Ok, nothing I’ve said regarding things that have already happened has been untrue. And There’s no reason to try and prove to you why Fournette is clearly a better prospect than Cook homie, because neither of them are gonna be Buccaneers.

And If you recall I told you that Fournette can do everything cook can do just as well or better in addition to be being bigger and stronger.

You need some ginko dog? I think you might.

  160. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

St.Pete but they keep talkin o line and defense. Like we ain’t in need of some fire power to deal wit these boys.

  161. Joeypoppems Says:

I agree with Blake on this bet. I think Dalvin Cook will be drafted in the 14-16 range (Eagles, Colts, Ravens). I tell you what tho. Now that I watched some tape on Joe Mixon, if he runs a sub 4.5 forty at the combine/pro day to me he is the #1 RB I want. He is incredibly talented. As long as he aces the interview process he will be a STEAL at #50 overall

Also, the only reason I’m bringing any of this up, if you remember, is to make the point that the media is constantly wrong.

You were the one that was trying to use the media as the crux of your argument.

Again tell me why we people that get paid to analyze athletes are making Charles,McCoy and Faulk comparisons smart guy.

Smart guy. Bust out the ginko dude.

  164. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Poppens Chris Johnson ran a combine record 40 and didn’t go until 24th to the titans. A team that was located right next to where he played college ball.

  165. Stpetebucsfan Says:

I’m not going to cry if we get Fournette although I prefer Cook. Fournette seems a little more powerful, Cook is more dynamic and explosive.

I have no idea which way we’ll go but I value running back a lot more than most here apparently.

One thing I hope…is that whoever our running back can catch out of the backfield! Be awful nice if he had 4.4 speed after he catches it.

  166. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Doofus they were clearly attempting to sale that kid to the L.A. fanbase. They obviously didn’t buy it.

  167. SB with Jameis Says:

Sorry guys………I am an ex drug addict who turned his life around and deserved a second chance. That said I think women beaters have a harder recovery road than cocaine addicts. Something wired in their brains wrong. Hate em

  168. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

St.Pete I wouldn’t mad either if Fournette became a Buc. That blake has an issue wit Dalvin being selected tho. Ishh would crush his soul.

  169. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I hear what you saying Big bro. I wasn’t present and don’t know the details to the situation. But let me say this. The neighborhood I grew up inn from around the age of 7 to about 13 or 14 both sexes got it inn bro. Wasn’t no way around it.

  170. Joeypoppems Says:

@Stpete RB is an important need to fill in the draft. This RB draft class is stacked. Fournette and Cook wont be the only feature backs in this draft. That is why people are against taking a RB round 1

  171. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    Blake

the point that the media is constantly wrong.

Exactly. Alas so are Joe and we JBF posters. And even the NFL pros blow a lot of picks…can you say Ryan Leaf…Jamarcus…on and on.

There’s a pretty cool site (Joe sometimes frowns on links so you’ll have to google)
from datascopeanalytics. They define “bust” pretty accurately and then they plugged in the results.

By the end of the 1st round the bust rate is up to 20% and climbs to 50% by the end of the 3rd.

This not only proves your point about the media…it shows that even the paid pros get it wrong 1 out of 5 times even in the first.

From the end of the 3rd round on even the pros can only hit on 50%

This is why I do not havee much invested in my mock drafts. A lot of luck involved.

Bobby Beathard the legendary GM took this to the extreme. He traded down every chance he got to stockpile picks and increase his odds.

BTW Nice GOT reference Jamie Lannister.

  172. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    @Joey

Agree this is a strong year for RB’s and weak in OL…QB’s do not excite me but we do not need on anyway.

And so that Kid from Texas might be OK but only seven catches scares me.

    @SBwithJameis

Have you seen the HBO special on the life of Lawrence Phillips. Just watched it today. Really really sad. Dude might have been the most talented RB since Jim Brown but he couldn’t get past his inner demons and violence with women.

I’ve already excused myself from the Mixon debate because I’m the son of a wifebeater. I’d love to see some little guy or a woman beat the snot out of Mixon…I’d be rooting for someone to hurt him as badly as he did his woman.
I loathe bullies who pick on people not their size…..but that’s just me and I totally agree that he’ll be a value pick….UNLESS of course he goes all Lawrence Phillips.

  173. Blake_bucsfan Says:

By no means would my soul be crushed If we drafted Cook. I would be disappointed yeah, but if he became A Buc, Which I do not see happening, I would hope for the best and support him. Just absolutely do not see the need to Trade up for a RB in a draft loaded with talent at that position.

  174. Ndog Says:

I will settle this argument Dalvin Cook is better period. More make you miss, better vision, better route runner, better hands and plays through injuries. No much debate but Blake is just like everyone else blinded by the ESPN hype train of everything SEC as Fournette is just another by product of that machine.Time will show us all and Blake will go into hiding. Remember how we were all told Gurley would be all world? Yeah…….

  175. JameisDungy Says:

    Huge off season for Licht.

Can’t expect the Panthers to be that bad.

Kyle Shanahan has taken Matt Ryan to a level beyond what Koetter could.

Saints seem to always give us problems/we can’t score against them for whatever reason.

We’ve got speed on defense. We need speed on offense.

    Bring in Pryor or Jackson.

Draft Cook or OJ HOward if Cook is gone.
    Figure out the damn oline.

  176. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Whats funny to me is that I’ve watched Gurleys college tape, and its more similar to Cooks than Fournette. Other than the obvious difference in size, most of their big plays are just them running in a straight line, or slipping thru piss poor effort tackles. I don’t think I’ve seen much worse tackling than some of the plays on Dalvin Cooks highlight Reel. Where As Fournettes reel and game footage I’ve seen rocked my face off. It’s just not in the cards for us to Get Leo Fournette, thats why I don’t talk about him.

  177. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Boy so you full s@$! Its ridiculous. Gurly looks nothing like Dalvin on tape. Gurly is a str8 line runner just like zek. Wrong try again guy.

  178. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Also never been a Fan of Todd Gurley, Called it when they wrongfully gave him Jameis’ Roty award. Knew that his season was a fluke. And I Feel about as enthused about Cook as I did about Gurley. Call me crazy I don’t really care. I trust my eyes. And more often than not they do me right.

  179. Blake_bucsfan Says:

And I say to you, Dalvin is a Straight line runner just Like Gurley and Zeke. Thanks for making my point for me dude.

  180. Ndog Says:

I love the Shanahan comment, I wonder if having Sanu, Gabriel, Freeman, Coleman, and a all pro center have anything to do with Ryans improvement? No your right it must be all coaching. You people say some of the most ridiculous things.

  181. Joeypoppems Says:

@Ndog better vision is debateable. They both have great vision. Cook can make guys miss more, but Fournette doesnt need to with his physicality. I agree with everything else. Either way its an intriguing argument that will not only go on here on JBF but throught the entire draft process.

  182. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

You ain’t never seen a jump cut from Todd Gurly. Now pull up one of them links and oeuvre me wrong.

  183. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Haven’t seen that many from Cook to be honest. I see A lot of rounding the corner, slipping through easily made tackles, and straight line running from him though. Plays like that make up the majority of he production at FSU.

  184. Ndog Says:

Everything you say makes you more wrong as he is anything but a straight line runner. Watch the games man then comment, until then don’t waste our time.

  185. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    the*

  186. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I HAVE. Don’t know what you want me to say. He is by no means a shifty back. He doesn’t have an arsenal of moves he makes people miss with. Just a lot of fast running and slight cuts.

  187. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Poppens I’m a fan a of Fournette. Boy nasty. Som like that contact stuff me I want my RB avoiding it like LeShean McCoy dose.

  188. Blake_bucsfan Says:

  191. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Blake you got plenty insight. Smart as h3ll. But your bias against Dalvin is rooted in something else.

  192. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    He nice Blake.

  193. Blake_bucsfan Says:

It’s really not, I’m just not that Impressed with his film dude, he makes a few good plays here and there, but nothing that makes me say “HOLY CRAP GOTTA HAVE HIM! TRADE AWAY THE FARM FOR COOK!” Nope. Just Fast running and running wild thru crap tackles.

  194. Joeypoppems Says:

@NosBos Dont really think its fair for u to call anybody biased lol. If Cook has the same career but went to any school other than FSU would you be beating the drum for him like you do now?

  195. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Poppens don’t pretend to know dude cause you don’t. I give a s@$! about where a player played in school. Bucs comes first wit me homie. My Big bro SB can attest to that.

  196. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

And Blake you don’t rush for that amount of yards just dinning in a str8 line. Try again.

  197. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Just telling you what I see bro. Sorry?

  198. Buc1987 Says:

    Falcons are for real.

Like I said I picked them to win the whole damn thing about a month ago.

Shyte just dawns on me. I dunno why.

  199. Buc1987 Says:

I’m done talkin about Cook myself.

  200. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I really wish I didn’t feel this way about Dalvin Cook, so that I could be with you guys, but I do. And no amount of Dalvins Cook tape I’ve watched has been able to sway me into thinking differently. Like I said I would support him if he did end up in Pewter and Red. But I’d rather us pick a Game-changing Tight end or Reciever with that number one Pick.

Especially in a draft LOADED with running back talent. And when Latavius Murray is an Unrestricted Free agent. Value just isn’t there in the 1st round. We are not a running back away from being Superbowl champs. Just doesn’t make sense to pick one that High.

  201. Joeypoppems Says:

    Well said Blake

  202. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    87

I hope you are as accurate with your SB prediction next year!

BTW I agree completely. The Falcons have some serious firepower and Quinn will have a functional defense.

They are the team that worries me next year . I think Cam had a career year in 15…his body is getting beat up…their stud RB is 30…they still have some players but I think they’ve lost their mojo and team chemistry. The Saints are playing out the string for both Brees and Payton…but the Falcons…they’re going to be the division monster next year…until we knock them off!

  203. Ndog Says:

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think we are getting Dalvin and no I would not trade up for him, but is going to be great and I hope the stinking Panthers don’t get him. Having to play him twice a year would really suck. Also if Matt Ryan wins the MVP this year it would mean every QB in the NFC South has won the MVP. Of course just our luck to have to play in the toughest division in Football. 3 MVP QBS in one division? Freaking ridiculous!

  204. Ndog Says:

Latavius Murray is not a difference making runningback. I would rather have Quiz Roffers than Murray. Heck the Raiders been trying to replace him all year long. Plus he has like 4 pro bowlers on his oline and he still do crap on the ground. Hard pass!

  205. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Yo

  206. CROM Says:

A plugger f or d-line, and 2 speedsters for wide receivers. How they pick em is the scouts job. But we don’t need to go all in and just spend money because we have it.

  207. BigMacAttack Says:

I want the Bucs to move up if necessary and draft Mike Williams from Clemson. He’s a game changer like Mike Evans.

  208. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Blake send me that bad tape of Dalvin bro I wanna review it. Clearly you’ve seen something that I haven’t had the pleasure of seeing.

  209. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Mack he is the next Julio but many here rather Corey Davis or John Ross. Funny.

  210. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @big mac
Likely not going to happen. He will be a titan @ #5 and it would take WAY to much to move up that far. Plus @5 we could get a great talent on defence in Malik hooker or Johnathan allen

  211. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

This is no longer about Dalvin being drafted by the Bucs. This about you proving he is about to be garbage in the NFL. Send the video bro.

  212. CROM Says:

For now what we need before the draft is a plugger for the d-line and 2 receivers with speed in FA. one of thwm may work out, if not use the draft and trade down for players that are hungry!

  213. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    So everyone can watch it.

  214. LUVMYBUCS Says:

  216. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

  217. BigMacAttack Says:

I would be happy drafting Corey Davis if not MW

  218. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

  219. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

  221. LUVMYBUCS Says:

LUV it -when brothas provided proof to back up there Sh!t

Like what I’m seeing NOS & Blake.

  222. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

I’m starting to think that the biggest impact player on offence for us @ 19 would be Oj Howard. (I think Cook will be long gone) BUT that depends on if we get a Wr2 in free agency. Think about this. Our TEs on the roster now can’t EITHER catch or block, none can do both. But with Oj Howard he is an EXCELLENT blocker AND rieceiver. We can become WAY less predictable with our formations. And that would give us 3 big time red zone threats.

  223. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Some needs monitor Moore’s Bitcoin account..lol

  224. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Mike Evans GOAT

He solid – but I like Engram the back of the 2nd round though.
Dude attacts the middle of the field – solid YAC too.

  225. BigMacAttack Says:

    Bucs also need another LB

  226. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

The texans have the talent but Brock dose suck.

  227. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Brady good lawd man

  228. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    @ big mack
What makes u think that? We have Devonte Bond on the roster to replace Daryle Smith. Our LOLB is taken off the field every time we go into nickel, which is somewhere around 75-80% of the time. The position has lost alot of value in today’s NFL

  229. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Let me be clear bros I in no way shape or form as arguing that Dalvin is the only talented RB entering this draft. Their are many. But to act like it would be unwise to take Dalvin if he were there at 19 considering our current RB situation is beyond me.

  230. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Imagine if our d line could play like that. WOW

  231. SB with Jameis Says:

I am kinda buzzed and have read every word on these here comments. Thanks fellas for the fuzzy feelings. 🙂
    Cool read.

  232. BigMacAttack Says:

D Smith isn’t fast enough. Bond is good. It we could use another with speed. Need more speed on defense. I like Eric Berry as a safety though.

  233. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Fuzzy feelings? That’s a new one LOL

  234. SB with Jameis Says:

    Lol indeed Mike Evans GOAT.
The bourbon is making my humor receptors kinda fuzzy. 🙂

  235. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    SB

    lol

  236. SB with Jameis Says:

What’s up my Brother LUV?!?!? Ain’t it Good to have so much Hope and Faith in our team?!

  237. Joeypoppems Says:

@NosBos the only thing “unwise” about it is that there are plenty of other talented RBs in this draft that will fall to the 2nd or 3rd round. Look at it like this. After OJ Howard there is a significant drop off to the next best TE (due to his blocking imo). After Corey Davis and Mike Williams there is a significant drop off to the next best WR. After Cook and Fournette there are a lot of other RBs that can be highly productive. Kamara, Mixon, Foreman, Jamaal Williams, Perine, Gallman. They can all be great starters and be picked on Day 2. That also goes for Corners, Safeties, and DL. Now if Cook and fournette were the 2 clear cut RBs this year then I would be all in for 1 of them, but there will be better value for RBs in round 2

  238. Ocala Says:

Dalvin will be incredible but unfortunately I don’t think he will get close to our pick

  239. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Chillin Brotha – I’m sitting over here, a little buzzed as well.

Yeah, Its real good to finally be in this position.
Hopefully this time – our big free agent acquistion – isn’t a punter.

4 the last time F-U Dom.

  240. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Let’s pay this Bouye guy some big $

  241. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Mike Evans

Would be shocked if Houston – lets him walk

  242. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Yeah, let me dream lol

  243. SB with Jameis Says:

LOL LUV…………I am looking, or hoping rather, that we can land Campbell, Short, or Poe, in that order, first and foremost. I would like to see us land Short (cause Fock the Panthers) along with either of the others and shore up our DL. FA is the answer there I think. Pryor is our FA answer to WR if possible. That would allow us to attack OL and RB in the draft.

  244. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    Osweiler is SOOOOOO BAD

  245. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Poppems I get what you’re saying. If we take O.J. is he becoming a day one starter???

  246. SB with Jameis Says:

    This^^^^

  247. SB with Jameis Says:

Dam you Mike for getting in the way of me laughing at Brock Osweiller
    🙂

  248. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Think about that for a moment. Our current guy had 8 TD receptions. I wanna hear your opinion before I go further.

  249. USFBUC Says:

Damn a ton of posts here. I’ll pass on Jahad Thomas, he doesn’t have that break away speed. He is shifty but he doesn’t leave people behind.

  250. Trubucfan22 Says:

Licht with his cardinal ties, will certainly be eyeing up Calais. He knows the type of player he is. He is the type of veteran leader that Licht covets. A very passionate guy who loves football. JPP is a freak athlete, but an idiot. I wouldnt be in the least bit upset to have him be a buc, but when it comes to leadership and what it takes to be a champion, i’ll take Calais over him every day and twice on Sunday.

  251. SOEbuc Says:

Campbell, Eric Berry, and a CB. Build offense through draft. We also need to get a big time LB in the next couple years.

  252. SB with Jameis Says:

I am a Joe Money man to the Core. This said I am on the Brady bandwagon currently. This guy can do ANYthing if you can give him 3 seconds.

  253. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    😊Brock terrible man.

  254. SB with Jameis Says:

I can’t wait to see Jameis be able to throw a touch pass that well. I Believe he will be able to though.

  255. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    Anything wit 3 seconds.

  256. SB with Jameis Says:

    LOL BRO 🙂

  257. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    He coming Big bro.

  258. SB with Jameis Says:

Houston is looking Alot like the Bucs right now. Defense is giving all they have and creating TOs. Offense not generating enough points. We have never seen that before have we Guys?!

  259. Joeypoppems Says:

@NosBos Absolutely. We run a lot of 2 TE sets. OJ Howard and Brate on passing downs and in the run game we can either use a traiditonal 2 TE set with Stocker and Howard or in the jumbo package (extra OL as an elligible TE) He could replace stocker. OJ Howard is an instant upgrade to this offense.

  260. SB Says:

Is this legal? ‘Cause this is how people respond to me.

  261. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    Okay I respect that logic.

  262. SB Says:

When you drink some bourbon and want some Tacos………..:)

  263. SB with Jameis Says:

So the Ostrich can run! Lol

  264. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Poppems with what you just articulated you now have me thinking about Howard. Let me be clear, I’d rather have Dalvin because in my opinion we don’t have a starting RB. But who would you rather acquire first O.J. or Corey Davis???

  265. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    SB

Yeah -Kwann would be a solid pick-up.
Would be shocked if Carolina – lets him walk though

  266. SB with Jameis Says:

Nos……….you only need a good Threat at RB if you have a Legit Franchise QB, a true 1WR, 2WR and a receiving TE.
OL makes RB IMO………Our Run Blocking Sucks!

  267. SB Says:

Yeah LUV. I would be surprised too. But I would be WAAAAYYY More HAAAPPPYYYY

  268. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hz_TN_sC0Ww

Keep in mind these are not terrible plays in there own right. Just my Perception of them. Also note that if a play goes unmentioned, I think is a pretty good one with nothing to say about it. but here you go NosBos. Also keep in mind i’m not saying Dalvin is a Garbage college back. Just That the majority of these plays do not happen frequently against Competent NFL defenses.

0:24 Rounds the corner, Runs in a straigt line througha wide open alley into the endzone.

0:35 Off to the races through a wide open hole, makes a pretty good cut on #2 to get past him, But then runs thru a group of
3 dudes who could have and should have tackled him. And reaches paydirt.

0:50 3 more god awful tackles, then running in a straight line for the endzone.

1:22 Rounds the corner, 1 guy misses an opportunity to tackle him, then he runs in a straight line for the endzone.

1:33 Look at this run, and tell me with a straight face that the run wasn’t the result of piss poor tackling.\

1:45 Hits the crease with pretty good speed, rounds the corner, and takes of in a straight line.

1:55 Yet another example of, you guessed it, some really poor tackling.

2:05 I actually kind of like this run, Like how he got low to get past the guy in front of him and actually used his really tiny body to get lost amidst the big nasties.
That being said, at one point here, his head is in the stomach of guy right in front of him that by all rights should
have been able to bring him down.

2:16 Wide open hole, one slight cut on dude taking a bad pursuit angle.

2:20 Straight out of the benny hill show, 2 different pairs of defenders collide with eachother instead of making a tackle.

2:27 & 2:32 hit the crease, run in a straight line for the endzone.

2:41 More 3 stooges-esque defensive play. Makes one pretty nice step back juke at the end tho.

2:48 Turns the corner when no edge has been set by the D, Slight cut, endzone.

2:55 we see our first Jump cut, its a nice one, and then off to the races in a straight line for the endzone

3:10 Gets skinny through a crease, you know because he is tiny, slight cut, then its straight line running.

3:24 Wide open on a wheel route, straight line yada yada.

3:32 Up the gut going straight ahead thru 2 bad attempts at tackles.

3:37 Yeah Jameis is gonna run an option, you wish. Slight cut, straight line.

3:48 Thru a wide open hole in the D, rounds the corner, straight line.

3:55 Right up the wide open midde, running straight ahead, makes one good cut at the end.

4:03 some more crappy tackling on display.

4:11 Some more corner turning, and pretty bad tackling

4:22 Dalvin Cooks best attribute, he gets around the corner going pretty fast. And Takes advantage of Defenses that cant set an edge.

4:28 Pretty big hole, Straight line running.

4:40 2 would be tackles, uses his skinny frame that prolly won’t hold up to an nfl pounding to slip behind his guys butt, and more
runnin straight. Seriously watch this one in .25 speed 2 guys behind the line have the opportunity to get there hands on him and just dont.
It’s not like he ripped thru them with he man strength, its just looks like poor effort to me.

4:53 Probably the first example I’ve seen of a broken tackle and not a missed tackle. Good play her from Cook.

4:54 More tackling woes, and corner turning.

5:15 Perfect opportunity for him to turn a corner going full speed unmolested into a sprint. The thing he does best.
Unfortunately the chances a back has of doing this versus a competant Nfl Defense, are few and far between.

5:29 wide open hole hitting 101

5:37 “another big hole straight up the middle” well said game caster, took the words out of my mouth.

6:02 The casters are beginning to speak for me.

6:08 Big hole, best part of the play is the block laid for Cook by the full back.

6:15 more big holes, more corner turning.

    6:27 more bad tackling.

6:34 over pursuit by the Blitzer on the option, Pretty wide hole to run thru because of it.

6:39 more of the same. Corner turnt, Striaght line ran. No D in sight.

    6:47 good jump cut.

6:54 More good Blocks, more bad D.

7:03 Straight line up the gut.

    7:13 2 decent cuts.

7:29 Cuts to the corner, Runs Straight.

7:38 Decent size crease, Turns thru, and runs straight for the paint.

7:43 Wide open hole, Runs straight thru it.

    7:47 Thats a Good catch

    7:51 Thats a s(p)it tackle.

7:57 Big hole, good cutting tho. Even better straight line speed.

    8:26 More corner turning 101

8:30 Wide open hole for a skinny body.

  269. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Real talk – worst case scenario.
Hopefully we can add a couple Hawkeyes to the roster – via the Draft or as UDFA’s.

    • Desmond King CB/FS Iowa 5-10 | 203
    • Jaleel Johnson DT Iowa 6-3 | 310

  284. ndog Says:

First off Blake all of these are your opinion so this proves nothing. Also just sitting watching this game thinking if this was a Bucs game Tampa Tony would be saying man we need a new QB this Brady guy is just not accurate.

  285. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I say very Clearly that every comment is my Perception of the play.

  286. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Yeah – I put the hard stuff down an hour ago.
Sam’ing it up – the rest of the night though

  287. Joeypoppems Says:

@NosBos I’m hoping we can address WR through Free Agency so I would prefer to get OJ Howard.

  288. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

😊So you come back with a highlight reel of some of greatest moments at FSU and expect me to find fault in his play??? Really Blake.. I respect diligence its gangsta but you haven’t convinced me bro.

  289. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    Get you Poppems.

  290. Blake_bucsfan Says:

I can’t say definitively whether Dalvin Cook will or won’t be successful in the pro game. I can tell you that I don’t believe he will be. Thats all any of us can do at this point in the game. Thats all scouting is when it comes down to it, Granted, professional scouts are armed with a lot more Technical knowledge of the game of football, but I have been watching it all my life, And My Judgement of players has served me pretty well in the past. Like how in 2014 I had my fingers crossed and prayed in front of the T.V. for us not to draft Jonny 8ball.

And my eyes don’t see a generational Talent in Dalvin Cook. They see a dude thats pretty fast and has solid vision.

  291. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Video sick tho. Bout to watch it Again.

  292. Blake_bucsfan Says:

And you basically just outted yourself NosBos, your admiration of Cook stems from the fact that he played for YOUR seminoles. A team you love. There’s no possible way you could analyze any of those runs beyond, wow that was a great run by my guy.

You’re bias towards FSU football simply won’t let you.

  293. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Also one of my main goals here was to show that on the majority of his big plays, he’s a straight line runner dude.

  294. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    poppems

    I hear U

    Hopefully we can sign (FA)
    -Terrance Williams
    -Pierre Garcon

    Draft/UDFA
    -Evan Ingram TE
    -Jaylen Samuels HB

That would be one mean verticle attack

  295. ndog Says:

According to Blake no one FSU played can tackle and is slow. Oh yeah no coaches in that conference can coach defense either. We will just ignore the fact they did have the best record in nonconference games this year or that they did they best in bowl season or that they won the national title. Yeah Dalvin Cook just tore up a bunch of crap teams. Oh yeah he also 2 years in a row, tore up the Gators top 5 defense but I guess they are slow and can’t tackle as well despite having 5-6 players drafted this year, how did Fournette do against them again? And yeah you are correct Michigan does have a horrible defense that is slow, can’t set the edge, and really has zero talent. I mean how in the world did they end up with a top 10 defense nationally cause they suck? Your right Blake everyone FSU played sucked yet Fournette played against a bunch of tackling machines, I mean when he didn’t miss his 6 games dude to injury, but he runs with “power” so the fact that is not durable already means nothing

  296. Joeypoppems Says:

@Luvmybucs Jaylen Samuels is a guy I’m not familiar with but I’ve seen his name be brought up a few times so I will watch some tape of him soon

  297. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Nope. Not true. I broke down every play individually. Pointed out the bad tackling when it was there. And never made any such claim. Simply stated that These type of plays where a dude hits a hole that could be seen by Stevie Wonder, and Blows past dudes running straight ahead. That it’s not that impressive to me.

Sorry if you Love Dalvin Cook so much that you get butt hurt when people don’t share your opinion of him.

  298. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

You download that video as example to convince me and anyone that will listen to you that Dalvin is over hyped. Wow. Bro let me hit that s@$#.

  299. SB with Jameis Says:

Am I allowed to post this way yet?

  300. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Good to know the Pats are winning. Falcons won’t beat them if they go to the SB. I really do not want them getting a Superbowl win. Falcons fans are super obnoxious.

  301. SB Says:

Am I allowed to post this way yet?

  302. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Show us all Fournette’s video and Corey Davis video and any other player you feel would be better for the Bucs to draft over that Dalvin video you sent. Thanks for that dude. My argument done.

  303. SB Says:

Watching the Great Defensive performance by Houston I don’t think any team Other than Atlanta can beat them. Yes I said it.

  304. ndog Says:

Have you watch Fournette? That is same thing his tape shows smart guy, that’s how you get 200 + yards in games. What do you have tape where Fournette carriers 11 defenders down the field. I really love that one where everyone went all gaga when the Auburn defender jumped on his back. That is about as bad technique as there ever has been but again that is just the SEC hype train in full mode. All I know is we will find out soon enough unfortunately neither one will be on our team.

  305. SB Says:

30 minutes later and I need another Bourbon and Coke.

  306. ndog Says:

Only the Patriots can get to play the Jets and Buffalo twice AND get the worse playoff team in years in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Boy when their luck runs out they could go 0-16 like 3 years in a row.

  307. SB Says:

“Their” luck doesn’t run out until Belicheck AND Brady are gone.

  308. I'm tired and 87 is right! Says:

    Now that is a man.

  310. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

You ain’t think I could do that ishh did you😁.

I’ll post the video’s sure, but I’m not spending another hour for each video breaking down play by Play.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MKKnCz8OSc&t=72s

Leo Fournette. There’s a lot of straight line homerun plays on this vid too, keep in mind that Fournette outweighs Cook by 25 pounds and still runs pretty much the same speed. However there are also plays like the one at 0:44, where after gettting through a nice sized hole, Fournette sets up a defender with a shimmy, then hurdle jukes him, Lands, Takes of Full speed again, and Barrels his way through another defender, Puts him on his a$$ and extends his 6’1 230 pound body 5 yards into the endzone for a score. I’ve never seen a play that explosive made by Dalvin Cook. I’m just gonna come right out and say that.

And the Run directly after it at 0:52 where Leo meets a dude in his hole, And Puts the kid in a coffin. Shows Tremendous balance, springs into full speed, makes a nice cut off a block, and hurdles his blocker. Then drags a dude wrapped around his waste for 9 more yards.

Oh and the run directly after that at 1:00 where he cuts back behind a block, Shows off the Jets, And burries yet another dude at the end of the run, defender got absolutely slobber-knocked. For a forty yard TD.

At 1:10 you’ll see a pretty juke, and a 230 dude runnin with 4.4 speed. Don’t even get me started on the Knock out blow Delievered at 1:22. NASTY!

Before I get ahead of my self and leave another wall of text, I’ll show you my favorite plays on the reel. The first of which happens to be the very next play show at 1:33 where he displays what i believe should have been called for aggravated assault, savagery, and Unnecessary embarrassment. Disgustingly vicious stiff arm.

The next is at 7:13, where Leo Fournette shows the fire and anger with which he runs. He is out there not just to do his thing and win, but to destroy the will of those who would step in his way. Pure Attitude shown on this 12 yard run.

  312. Blake_bucsfan Says:

3 plays into your video. Dalvin Fumbles. Great video dog…

  313. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Did you watch my vid??? Did you hear him use words like elite??? What about that part where he said FSU had 6 different o linemen combinations this season. And still out performed Fournette..

  314. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnqO2WvKoTM&t=52s

Here’s Corey Davis’ tape. I dude you yourself referred to a few days ago as AB 2.0

So I’ll let the footage do the talking on this one.

  315. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Yess you gotta love the commentary. I never said he was perfect just raw as h3ll. Did you catch his comparison at the end Blake???

  316. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Yea Davis gone be raw as h3ll thing is he’s a future number 1. We already have one of those bro.

  317. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Having 2 number 1’s aint a problem dude. It’s a Blessing. Look At Big Ben’s receiving corps. And tell me its a bad thing to have 2 number 1’s.

  318. Blake_bucsfan Says:

*A* dude.. sorry its late, The later it gets, the more typos i’ll have.

  319. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Problem is dose a number 2 WR that could be a number 1 for others teams really become a necessity cone draft night. When you don’t have a starting RB on your roster???

  320. Blake_bucsfan Says:

It does when he’s the best player available. Think about man. Go down the line of teams that need a Rb picking before, us. And consider that most people share your opinion that Dalvin is all that and bag of potato chips.

The browns need a Rb, and they have 2 first round picks ahead of us.

You could argue that the Jags need a Rb.

Matt Forte getting up there in years, The Jets might want a rusher.

    Panthers need a Running back.

    Colts need a Running Back.

Ryan Matthews coming off injury, Darren Sproles aging, They need a Rb.

AP is a 31 free agent, they might want a Rb.

And the Ravens need a Rb.

If Fournette is as good as I think he is, And Cook is as Good as you think he is, then by all rights they should not be there. When we pick at 19.

  321. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    poppems

    Respect

  322. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Okay now you talking some since. Its that Dalvin will under perform. In truth it comes down to you feel like others he’ll be long gone. The narrator on muy vid said any where between 12 and 14. We’ll see what’s up draft night I suppose.

  323. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

    -I meant not that

  324. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Well know, i feel both ways about it. I’m not sold on cook being as good as people are hyping him up to me, based on my personal perception of the plays I’ve seen. And simultaneously feel that he won’t be there when we pick.

  325. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Well *no*… see the typos are freaking real.

  326. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

He’ll be in the league here shortly. You’ll be able to see for yourself what he capable of on the NFL level real soon. I’m signing off. Lets do it Again tomorrow.

  327. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Indeed we will. A pleasure as always. I will always partake in discussions about the team & game that I love. Later dude.

P.s. I look forward to collecting my 50.

  328. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Ad long as we don’t take John ross over Davis or Howard I’ll be happy

  329. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

    ^^ *as

  330. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@Mike Evans Holy crap are we in complete and utter agreement on that my dude.

  331. Blake_bucsfan Says:

John Ross is another fools gold prospect in my eyes as well.

  332. SB Says:

I am with you on that one Blake. Ross may be a Talent but it Definitely is not in the top 2 rounds.

  333. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Oh and I finally finished watching the link posted by NosBos, and I gotta say that I think Lesean Mccoy is a poor comparison to me. Shady is MUCH shiftier and much more elusive than Dalvin Cook.

  334. Buc Fan in NC Says:

Dalvin doesn’t break tackles enough to translate well to the NFL IMO. Reggie Bush had speed for days and was way more elusive and look how well he turned out. The great RBs have 2 of 3 attributes. Size, Speed, or shiftiness. Dalvin only has speed.

  335. HolyBuc Says:

    1st: OJ Howard
    2nd: Mixon
    3rd: KD Cannon…Shelton Gibson

  336. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

We’ll see what Jason Licht thinks on draft night.

  337. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

And if he doesn’t do this and doesn’t do that then that would lead me to believe the chances are good he’ll be there at 19. I mean according to you jbf experts he’s a bust in waiting. The 18 teams in front of us prolly will see the same deficiencies y’all see and say to themselves nahh we’ll pass.

  338. TarzanTheBucsFan Says:

We have way more pressing needs than rb. It is a great rb draft and we can get a good one anywhere from 2-6. Humph is our number 2 wr, o line is meh at best, brent grimes isnt getting any younger, more d line help and maybe a safety(depending on what light thinks of tandy). I dont like using our first round draft on something that we dont need badly. Cooks play may or may not translate to the nfl. He needs more physicality. I definitely do not agree on using cook as our first round pick.
    We’ll see.

  339. Buc1987 Says:

Guys the draft is in May. 🙂

  340. TarzanTheBucsFan Says:

    Its actually in April

  341. LovieBall Says:

@Blake Man, a lot of missed tackles or bad tackles for one guy, huh? Not seeing the trend there? Dalvin is just good at slipping and breaking tackles.

  342. Poor Glennon Says:

Sign Evans. Front loaded 2017=30M then 8M per for the next 4 years. 66M over 5 years

  343. Poor Glennon Says:

    62M over 5 years

  344. Buc1987 Says:

Okay I’m glad you’re all here at this time of the year, but the draft is over 3 months away.

Is that better. Let’s talk FA’s.

  345. Blake_bucsfan Says:

@LovieBall Its all on the film dude. Idk bout you, but when I was Dalvin Pinball in between 4 dudes who all get there arms wrapped around him, while he’s not even going full speed, and none of the kids take him down, I call that bad tackling.

The type of tackling that for the most part doesn’t happen against good NFL defenses.

  346. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Also, if you watch the video I posted, and watching it while reviewing the Notes I made, You’ll see a few of the teams against which the plays occurred, Usf, Wake Forest, Miami, etc… Not exactly power 5 teams.

Louisville aint that bad of a team, but watch the run at 1:33 seconds on the video, And tell, that none of those 4 guys could have dragged him to the ground if they were worth a s(p)it.

Running and slipping through arm tackles in the open field with a head of steam is one thing, It’s another thing to watch 3-4 consecutive guys all get there hands on a dude that only weighs 205 and can’t take him down after wrapping up, that’s just piss poor effort dude.

  347. Trubucfan22 Says:

I like how blake analyzes dalvin cooks plays as “terrible” tackling, instead of the ability of Cook to make people miss. His speed and agility makes it hard for defenders to get a solid hit on him. His speed is what makes those defenders look terrible. Against a regular RB with average speed those defenders would be in better position to make a solid tackle. But when dealing with the raw speed of Cook, he just makes them look terrible (ACC competition is terrible anyways, but even worse than they really are).

Im not an avocate in drafting cook, but I will certainly give the credit. He is a tasmanian devil in the open field. Hard to size up and get a solid hit on.

Highlights, are just that highlights. I prefer to see what a player is doing wrong when i do an analysis. We know he has great speed and quickness. But what is happening on the 1 and 2 yard runs that arent in the highlights? (I live in wisconsin, dont watch nole games) that is where you learn about the ability of a RB. Because even though blake doesn’t five credit where if is due, he is partially right, giant holes and bad competition will be hard to exploit in the NFL.

  348. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Thats all well and good dude, But the Plays I pointed out, are the occasions where people do get solid hits on him, and just don’t take him down. That’s bad tackling dude idgaf what you say based upon your preconceived notions of Dalvin Cook.

NosBos asked me to post a video and Detail why I wasn’t impressed with Cooks film, Based upon my own Objective perception, I did exactly that.

  349. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    I’ll point them out again.

Open up the youtube link, Go to 0:50 in, and tell me that if those 2 wake forest kids were NFL linebackers, that he wouldn’t have been tackled for a 4-5 yard gain.

And then watch the run at 1:33, matter fact watch it at half speed, and tell me that the attempts made at tackling him aren’t absolutely comedic.

  350. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Also just tallied it up. In my post, I commented on 50 plays. I mentioned Bad tackling 16 times. Not even half did I say were plays with poor tackling on display.

Having watching every single Bucs game for the past Decade, I can tell you what bad Tackling looks like…

  351. Blake_bucsfan Says:

    having *watched*

  352. Joeypoppems Says:

Lmao you guys are still going in on this debate

  353. Jason18994 Says:

From reading other posts on this site. It seems like if you say anything bad against any FSU player. You automatically get ripped apart for having an opinion. I believe dalvin cook is good running back and if someone takes him 1st, 5th, 10th, 19th overall that’s great but do the bucs need him I think we have more pressing needs then a running back. There were multiple games where if JW had a open receiver or tight end we would have kept a drive going or maybe would have won a close game.

  354. Blake_bucsfan Says:

What? I freaking LOVE Jameis Winston. I’ve been a fan of Jameis since the first time I saw him play at Fsu. Don’t have a bit of bias towards the Seminoles, They last 4 games I went to, I was doing the warchant for Jameis on 3rd downs, and for Roberto when he was Kicking.

You’re the second person thats tried to imply that I don’t like Dalvin because I hate Fsu, or because I’m a gator fan. When neither is true.
