Dirk Koetter talks attraction

How many sides are there to America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston?

Well, when it comes to football and leading the Buccaneers, there is only one Jameis — for all. There is no changing face or message for the cameras and/or players and coaches, says Dirk Koetter.

The winning Bucs head coach had all kinds of sincerity and passion in his voice when discussing this topic recently on the Buccaneers Radio Network.

There’s not a fraudulent bone in football Jameis, Koetter explained to a fan.

Bucs Fan Ben: We know Jameis is a great leader. As fans, we get to see it on TV, we get to see it in the media. What can you tell us about his leadership that as fans we may not be able to see for ourselves?

Dirk Koetter: Oh, boy. That’s a good question right there. I would just say … everything about Jameis’ leadership is genuine. And, you know, I’ve seen players in the past that maybe sometimes their leadership that the fans saw wasn’t 100 percent genuine. Maybe some of that was a little more talk than action. And I don’t want to name any names on that, but I have seen it. And I can assure you that Jameis’ leadership is 100 percent genuine every day. And I think that’s one thing that players, coaches, fans alike, I think that’s one of the big reasons they’re all attracted to him.

Joe will add that it’s not just Jameis’ walking the walk when it comes to leadership, it’s how easy and naturally it comes to him that is intoxicating to those working with him.

Jameis is the ultimate football alpha dog — a very rare breed, too.

    BANG BANG!!!….shots fired GMC….LOL….GO BUCS!!!

  2. LovieBall Says:

GMC is a good player but any time he gives the pregame speech we lose. His speech before the Cowboys games was super weak.

  3. Ed Says:

Love JW’s fight and ability to extend plays, The biggest improvement for him to get into a top 10 NFL QB is to be able to hit receivers that are moving target especially vertical deep balls when his receivers are in one on one coverage and have the be beat or turned around. Too many overthrows/uncatchable passes.

Everything else about his game is elite except that point. Love to watch him play.

  4. tmaxcon Says:

    LovieBall

Some good has come from Soft Servs weak Speech its now being used to treat viagra overdoses and sex addicts worldwide. Nothing can get up or stay up with speeches like that. So

  5. RustyRhinos Says:

Tax Rotflmao thanks I need that.

  6. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Tmax right people. We can’t truly expect to win BIG depending on the play of teddy bear gmc.

  7. Erik w/ Clean Athletics 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans' Says:

Jameis is the Alpha Dog of the entire Tampa Bay sports community and we are all better off because of it.

Thank you, Jameis for being the Real Deal.

  8. Stpetebucsfan Says:

To a certain group and you know who you are! LMAO

It’s one thing to say that GMC is awful, doesn’t deserve his money, isn’t Warren Sapp, is soft, is a horrible leader…yadda yadda yadda.

I disagree but it’s your OPINION. None of you EVER backs it up with actual facts other than to try and blame everything on GMC..what game did he take over…the other ten guys are meaningless what game did he take over?

Fine with your questions but there is one meme growing that is just totally freaking absurd.

That not only is GMC not all that…that HE is a singular reason this team cannot win…errr…despite the fact they DID win 9 last year.

If any of you believe that a SINGLE player on this team is such a cancer I understand why you feel the need to speak out. This team has had it’s share of cancers from JFro to Winslow to pick your poison.

But if you guys think a Pro Bowl DT who averaged 8.3 sacks over the past four years is killing our team because he’s a nice guy? You’re not slamming GMC..you’re slamming every other Buc. Who the hell gets demotivated because one of their Pro Bowl teammate who produces 8.3 sacks a year from a position that is increasingly producing less sacks…DE’s and LB’s now dominate sack numbers not DT’s…a guy who has been nothing but class disturbs you….you need to check yourselves in the freaking mirror.

Every player contributes something different. Nobody is all over LVD because he’s quiet…ME because #3 provides enough juice for the entire offense.

GMC is not Ayers when it comes to being a pitbull. But he freaking averages 8.3 sacks a year and yet some here not only want to trade that away they actually believe THIS TEAM CANNOT WIN BECAUSE A PRODUCTIVE PLAYER IS TOO NICE. You can’t make this stuff up.

  9. Erik w/ Clean Athletics 'The Kwon Alexander of Bucs Fans' Says:

    I agree, St Pete.

    It’s silly…

  10. B Dawg Says:

Agreed St. Pete! You are saying what I think everytime I read this board.

  11. Eric Says:

Couldn’t agree more stpete. Well said.

  12. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Go back and watch dallas see for yourselves how times he turns his back to line of scrimmage.

  13. captjimbo Says:

I think it’s safe to say we have more pressing issues than replacing GMC.

  14. DB55 Says:

    St Pete

None of you EVER backs it up with actual facts. THIS TEAM CANNOT WIN BECAUSE A PRODUCTIVE PLAYER IS TOO NICE.
    ————————
With all due respect last time we had this convo I posted articles with Sapp, Simeon Rice, Brooks and King all expressing the same concerns over GMC.

Should I post the articles again?

  15. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Now when you count the number of times you see him do just that afterwhich count the number of times you see him take steps to his right or left opening up holes that zek ultimately ran str8 thru. This is just one game example there are others. I personally never count another man’s pockets least of my concerns. What does concern me is expecting a certain level of play during the duration of a game an not seeing it. That’s a legitimate beef. That fact that JBF is split down the middle when it comes to him says it All.

  16. DB55 Says:

    Nole

The stat sheet says he didn’t play vs Dallas. Are you confused? Sure a guy w 8.3 sacks per year doesn’t just dissapear during the biggest game of the year. He must have been injured that game, no?

  17. JameisDungy Says:

    Clean up his mechanics.

Add more speed at wr, te, rb and watch the Bucs take off.

  18. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

My issue is this some seem to be enamored by the idea of adding another DT in the draft. Fine. As long as Fameis is equip with weapons first. gmc is not the future Fameis obviously is. Some have the Jerry Jones syndrone, refuse to let Romo out the building so as to prove everyone else wrong. Aint happening.

  19. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I mean how long are we going to say “get gmc some help” before we realize it is of more importance to get the franchise QB some tools. How long???

  20. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Mr. Licht get JPP in the building for a chat and all our gmc problems would be solved. Ayers should have him in speed dial.

  21. Pickgrin Says:

And yet another JBF article gets overrun with GMC haters spouting their nonsense. Its bad enough when Joe throws raw meat out to this bunch with GMC articles designed to click-bait the haters which he does regularly – but to take over completely unrelated articles like this and like happens too many times is just ridiculous. Get some perspective you GMC hating imbeciles.

And good job calling them out with some reason St Pete – but as you can see – their entire perspective regarding GMC is simply unreasonable….

  22. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

I’ll take that imbecile Pick don’t change the fact mr. aww shucks pie.

  23. ImJustHereForJameisNews Says:

I’ll start by saying McCoy is one of the best DTs in the league right now. That being said, everything I’ve seen from him in terms of pregame speeches and trying to inspire his teammates or being a firey leader come off as flat and almost not genuine. He just doesn’t have the knack of motivating his team, and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that, he can still be his pro bowl self just think it’s time for him to take a step back in the huddle and time for Kwon and Ayers to take the reigns as vocal leaders on that side of the ball.

  24. Stpetebucsfan Says:

    DB55

I haven’t read any of them suggesting a trade. And I certainly have NEVER read anywhere but here that ONE player (aside from a QB) can literally keep a team from winning. Especially if that player is one of the most productive at his positions a any player in the league.

You can post the OPINION’s of disappointed former Bucs….I respect DB’s Sapp is just an assswhipe I could care less what he says unless he’s giving me the lowdown on how to score ladies of the night…on 2nd thought I think I’d pass on his advice there as well.

8.3 sacks per year the past four years…he’s always mentioned among the top five DT’s in the league.

I’mjusthereforJameis has nailed it. GMC’s personality is not that of #3 or Kwon or other vocal leaders. He was only a leader because the team suckked and had no other people to look towards. For a couple years there he was the ONLY good player on the team.

So most of us, not all, believe GMC is a very good player, with weak leadership skills. We have #3 and Kwon for that so just chill and enjoy the run we’re getting to take. Seriously does anybody believe a man who lives his Christian faith cannot be a football player? That this SINGLE player, despite his production, despite the league wide accolades, is a strong enough power to keep this team from winning? I think far more highly of this team and this organization to believe one guy who isn’t a natural leader but produces can wreck and entire team because he’s just tooo dang nice.

  25. Stpetebucsfan Says:

BTW I like GMC but I’m open to LEGITIMATE criticism.

Seems to me the ONLY legitimate take in opposition is that we can get more bang for the buck. Looking at the sacks coming from the DT’s league wide..it’s DE’s and LB’s who get the numbers…I think GMC is still worth his contract.

But that at least is a rational argument. Bring it with some numbers that prove he’s grossly overpaid. But to claim he’s such a cancer that he’s getting the entire D to lay down is just out there.

  26. Bob in valrico Says:

we need a big run stuffing tackle and then McCoy and Macdonald can rush the passer.McCoy uses his speed, where Macdonald uses his strength.Even though
I believe he is miscast as the run stuffer. He should be rotating with McCoy.

  27. Pickgrin Says:

NOS-BOS. Anyone who thinks that GMC is a detriment to this team and that we are better off without him than with him is indeed an IMBECILE!

If that shoe fits you in this case – then I guess you will wear it proudly as tmax and DB and numerous others with no clue in this regard do regularly.

  28. 813bucboi Says:

@nole….I agree…how much more help does he need?….we got spence and ayers….now it looks like we will be getting another dt and de in FA and/or the draft….

what has his sacks produced?….playoff berth?….nawl…more like losing seasons…I would rather have his sack totals down and his tackles and TFL up…..

this team needs a run stuffing dt…someone who can clog the middle and stop the run….but what the hell…he’s such a nice guy, he deserves an extension….GO BUCS!!!!

  29. 813bucboi Says:

the ole sang is true…nice guys come in last!!!!!….GO BUCS!!!!

  30. Dirks Great GranPappy Says:

Ppl are complaining we’re over paying for a top 5 dt in the league yet we have 80?Mil cap space after all is said and done?! Yet you guys want to throw money at gang signs desean Jackson or nobody Terrell Pryor? Really guys?

We can use his money better. Dudesies, we have 80 frickin million to “use better” even with this guy on payroll. And 813 is saying we got spence and ayers!! Lmao. Who is Noah spence. I love him and hope he will be what we all dream he will be but right now the guy is a rotational scrub. Ayers? Please. Playing pisst off has gotten him 10 sacks how many times?

Give it a rest guys. Get the bitter bears out of your butt

  31. Dirks Great GranPappy Says:

Nice guys come in last and assholes finish first. Not always my friend. The boz and Tim tebow. Suh is such an upstanding gentleman and role model so no wonder the guy has done absolutely zero.

  32. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

The usual haters are so dumb and so predictable. As soon as I read one line in that article I knew the GMC haters would see that as an opening. Koetter has been coaching for decades but the imbeciles immediately assume that he is talking about one specific player. For what it’s worth, I don’t think he would throw one of his best players to the wolves. The clueless guys are grasping at straws again. Yeah, an all pro is the problem with our team and needs to be replaced. Such an embarrassment to have dumb fans like this.

  33. Stpetebucsfan Says:

Let me try to bring a little self deprecating humor to the GMC debate.

Some here believe you need to be a total, thoughtless, selfish jerk…can you say Warren Sapp…to be a great player. I disagree because of examples on that same Buc team like DB55…a gentleman but would you want him peoed at you?

Both side in this debate could produce endless lists of names with arswholes who made it big and nice guys who DID finish first. I honestly do not believe either is a prerequisite. So if you CAN win with decent humans why the rush for jackwagons.

But I am prejudiced. Both my wife and my son continually chastise me for being too nice. LMAO. I tell them I’m cool with the criticism. Just make sure my tombstone says….Here lies SPBF…he was just too damned nice.

Oh the horrors of being perceived as a nice guy.

  34. Buc1987 Says:

What does GMC and possums have in common?

Both play dead at home and get killed on the road!

  35. Buc1987 Says:

    Got some funnies for ya…

1.According to a new poll 91 percent of people are satisfied with their lives. The other 9 percent are Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans.

2.Why do ducks fly over Raymond James stadium upside down?

    There’s nothing worth crapping on.

    3. How do you keep a Buccaneers fan from masturbating?

You paint his dick New Orleans gold and he won’t beat it for years!

  36. Buc4Lyfe79 Says:

Perhaps Coach just fired a shot back in atlanta’s direction with alluding to players whose leadership wasn’t 100% genuine.

  37. Buccaneer scotty Says:

There is nothing wrong with GMC! Most of you are just stupid and your never happy unless your crying and complaining about everyone on the team ! Even 5 time pro bowlers wtf ? So happy you and Joe don’t run this team!

  38. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

What 813 said. I give a s@$! About sacks,I care more about strip sacks,TFL and over all disruption of an offense thru timely appearances in an opposing teams backfield. I dare any of you supporters to direct me to some film showing a game where we get 2/3 of those from gmc. I’ll be waiting,I wanna see this.

  39. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Scott I sat idle in these discussions initially. They force me to pay closer attention to his game. Sadly you obviously can see what side of the coin I ended up on. Again its not about sack totals, we should all see him in the backfield at least 4x a game. D@$! is once a qtr too much to ask??? Someone anyone up direct me to a link.

  40. Nole on Sat- Bucc on Sun Says:

Some bad @$$ offenses in these championship rounds. To think people wanna go S,DT or DE in the first round. How are we ever suppose to put some points on the board. The object is to score the Most right???

  41. Q Says:

Dont care what st Pete says …he does not watch football in its entirety ….half the sacks is given to aunt geraldini…all he has to do is be next to the player sacking the qb and they give it to him…thats the truth….i cant tell you how many times ive seen mccoy get past the oline and a runner runs past him..or how many times hes read a play to think its a pass and they run at him….the ONLY reason mccoy is double teamed is his strength and i give him that…take that away and hes straight garbage …and if you want pointers on how sapp geta ladies then i suggest you go to nebraska ave or call a escort
