Two Bucs Ruled Out; Three Questionable

December 2nd, 2016

chris-conte-1021The Bucs’ official injury report is in leading up to Sunday’s game at sunny San Diego.

First, it’ll be the Keith Tandy show at safety.

Chris Conte has been ruled out with a chest injury that prevented him from practicing all week. Hopefully, Tandy plays better than he did against the Rams.

Second, center/guard Evan Smith is still out with a knee injury.

Gerald McCoy has a bad foot and only practiced on a “limited” basis in today’s underwear football even at One Buc Palace. Joe’s not worried, though “limited” is a red flag on a Friday.

Jacquizz Rodgers (foot) and Brandon Myers (hip) are questionable, too.

In all, the Bucs are a pretty healthy team for December NFL football.

Fair point, he let one get away from him vs the Rams but I’m confident he’ll shine along side McDougle.

Missing Conte is a serious concern.

Really hoping Tandy has the scheme down and our pass rush shows up, or it’s going to be a long, long day for the defense.

    Isn’t today Friday?

Thanks Joes. The very best Bucs news site on the planet, all year long. I never miss a post. Keep it up. Go Bucs

Letting Banks go. Smart move, Mike Smith. Oh well. This game will pit our young, improving offense against a perennially great offense NFL-wise. I have been following DK for 2 seasons now. We’ll show up. For once, defense and special team will be the backup performers. As to the final score.. we will surprise a few more folks across the nation. Go Mighty Bucs!!

  6. GhostofTedford Says:

I think Tandy has improved and will surprise come sunday….The keith Tandy show with special guest Mcdougald and Mr. Noah Spence.

I’m not worried b-Mac has been playing great for us at free safety so he should help Tandy

  8. Pickgrin Says:

Tandy has given up a couple plays this year – but he’s been around here for awhile and has always looked pretty steady when called on to play safety in real games.

  9. SeattleBuc Says:

Tandy can handle it. He’s smart, tough, had some pics under Schiano. He’s a salty vet by now.

  10. JonBuc Says:

How many of us thought we’d ever “miss” Conte? I didn’t. He has rallied quite nicely of late.

    Next man up!

What’s going on with Ryan Smith is he showing any signs of progress?

    This^^^
I was never a Conte hater but I’ve never wished we had him as much as I do now.

  14. Lamarcus Says:

We still should win this game Joe but I hope we don’t come out flat. West coast games

  15. Pickgrin Says:

Waterboy- Ryan Smith is a 4th round project at Safety.

He had played CB his last 2 years of college after playing his 1st 2 at Safety – so he’s got some catching up to do at being taught how to play safety at the NFL level. They like his speed, coverage skills and tackling ability though which is why he was drafted where he was.

Hopefully he can compete for playing time at safety next season.

  16. unbelievable Says:

So we assuming McDougald will be covering Gates most of the game? Or combo of LB and slot corner?

My concern w/ Tandy is his size. Very small for a safety.

  17. SB with Jameis Says:

Been reading several Chargers’ blog sites. They are very nervous to say the least.

    coming out flat
Not likely to happen now. See, this is it: last week was the most fun our guys EVER had playing football. It made all of the humiliations they have endured as a Buc worth it, they realize now that they never have to feel like they used to again. They cannot wait to get back to the game now, cannot wait to crush, focus and dominate the next team. They now know anything is possible.

  19. JonBuc Says:

No Lovie Dovie to hush Russell Shepard or anyone else trying to fire up the team…

  20. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Suddenly……this game is looking more like a slug fest

…….this game will come ultimately down to which team out coaches the other since their isn’t a big mismatch talent wise on either side

  21. SB with Jameis Says:

    Nicely said firethecannons.

  22. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Chris Conte is no surprise, given the signing this week.

This list could be much worse.

    Waterboy Says
“What’s going on with Ryan Smith is he showing any signs of progress?”

Although they are cross training him at safety (he was a corner), I think the main reason he was picked is for returns. Have to say…I’m not impressed so far. But then, how many return opportunities has he really had, given all the touchback?s

  23. DayOnePaul Says:

When Tandy was exposed against the Rams, we were not putting together any kind of pressure on the QB. No DB can be shut down without a pass rush.
