Martin, McDonald Out Sunday

October 28th, 2016
Can't go.

Can’t go.

The Bucs have declared who will not play Sunday with injuries.

Running back Doug Martin and defensive tackle Clinton McDonald are out.

Martin is not a surprise at all as he is still battling to return from suffering a hamstring injury at Arizona. McDonald, himself battling a hamstring, practiced this week but was limited in each session. He was deemed not good to go today.

Defensive end Robert Ayers and center Joe Hawley both fully participated in practice today. Joe already reported that Ayers will play Sunday. He and Hawley are listed as questionable, as is Gerald McCoy (calf) who was limited in practice today.

Not too bad. I’ll take Ayers over McDonald any day…

  2. BucFan20 Says:

Hopefully there are no ” set backs” between now and Sunday!

  3. Pickgrin Says:

Would be nice to get back to “full strength” at some point but if Ayers and McCoy are both playing – its better than 2 weeks ago when neither was. McCoy alone made a pretty big difference in our Dline’s effectiveness vs Sab Fran IMO.

Rodgers has run well the last 2 weeks so DM still not being available is mostly covered. Akeem Spence has done a decent job in McDonald’s absence as well – but there’s definitely a difference in capabilities there.

  4. Buc1987 Says:

But tmax said Martin would be back…

This game will be a physical dog fight. Hopefully, Smith will have his backups ready in the secondary. We’ll see. DK’s 24K offense is salivating at showing their chops on Sunday. I’ll have it on Bucs Radio. Go Mighty Bucs!!

  6. 813bucboi Says:

    28-24BUCS….GO BUCS!!!!

  7. Buc1987 Says:

Right now after thinking about this game all week I’m at Bucs 27-24 on a FG with 10 seconds left Aquayo clanks it off the left crossbar and it goes in. Or he misses it and they go to OT.

That’s where I’m at. Even threw in the scenario.

  8. ElioT Says:

Any DT in draft > Roberto.

  9. orlbucfan Says:

Man, I don’t know. First off, what’s the weather report? Thank gawd, it’s a 1PM start. My big question is the defensive secondary. Crabtree, etc. aren’t chopped liver. Del Rio will also have Carr throwing to several receivers like we do. His players are vets and healthy; we’re the walking wounded AS USUAL! This could turn out to be a great football game. You’ve got 2 head coaches who are offensive-minded talents. Our ? is our defense. Special teams will be fine even with Aguayo. I’ve already picked the Bucs. I did it back in the 1-15 days. Go Mighty Bucs!!

  10. DB55 Says:

Del Rio is a hack. Koetter will eat him alive for brunch.

  11. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Hell yeah DB55 im with you. We will pound the rock again, and Jameis will pick them apart off of the play action. Expect to see Jameis Winston and Mike Evans explode this week fellow Bucs fans. And I know our young Hogs will dominate the Offensive line of scrimmage. Bucs Win Baby! 4 and 3 and First place this week boys! COMPETE!

  12. pick6 Says:

clinton mcdonald is in the Vincent Jackson zone. Inspirational veteran leader whose body is betraying him. Didn’t he incur the injury warming up after the lightning delay vs Denver? And that was after finishing last year on IR, just like VJax.

also like VJax, good dude who experienced nothing but losing down here and probably heading into his last 10 (or more, a guy can dream) games as a buc

  13. R.O. Says:

Maybe McDonald or both nacknin the short week. hopefully.

  14. Chris Says:

Man, if we could win, playing for first place Thursday night, midway point of the season. I heard Bog Hog is going to have special Koetter themed tailgate party at his place Thursday.

  15. The Buc Realist Says:

    @pick6

CM98 has not played 1 full season yet in his long professional career!!!!!!!

    Go Bucs!!!!!!

  16. Kobe Faker Says:

I think raiders offense going to force this game wide open

Too many playmakers on their side with carr getting the ball out quick

Oak is going to stretch the field and bring the hammer lat murray down our throats. Everyone check the size of lat murrey. He is bigger than mini no-where spence

You know what happens when you cant contain either run or pass…like fat kids like cake

Oak is going to stack the box against the run. They are damned if they get run on this game. Del rio might even suit up. They know koetter is going to be predictable run run pass clown

However…if koetter the clown opens up the offense with shep and setup the run/quizz with the pass…we will have a shootout

Ex fsu kicker will make or miss field goals

    30-24 oakland

City of tampa will be screaming all game long

    “Where the fvk is shep”

  17. Blake_Bucsfan Says:

Hell nah KoBe FAKEBUCSFAN We will involve shep this week, noah spence will continue to improve this week, as our Defense takes another step foward. As VH3 and Grimes and Mcdougald Shut down the Raida’s aerial offense. And as our Pass rush and blitz packages get even more pressure onto Carr than we did onto KaeperStink. And we WILL force him to make mistakes. BUCS WIN 34-20

  18. Fred E. Buc Says:

Short and to the point. I think the Bucs “get it” now, and they are fairly healthy considering. This will be a tough game, but let’s get a win in prep for the Thursday night pajama party against the Dixie Chicks.

  19. Rrsrq Says:

Move Ayers WG to inside on passing situations, the only problem is that Spence is way better rushing from the right side then left, that’s where Ayers plays, this is where we will miss Jack Smith

  20. unbelievable Says:

I really don’t know what the outcome will be Sunday, I could see it going either way, honestly.

So far I’ve picked correctly for the Bucs win/loss every week except against LA, a game we could have, and should have won. This week I really don’t know.

Well actually I guess I do— It’s going to come down to our defense, specifically pass rush. Will it show up?

  21. SB with Jameis Says:

Well, as some of you know I was still alive in my Eliminator pool and I took the Bucs as my Pick. Still alive and these are the teams I have used in order from week 1. Houston, Baltimore, Miami, Washington, Green Bay, Tennessee, and Tampa Bay!!!!!
THAT my friends is Kicking ass. That being said if Tampa were still on the board for me this weekend I think I might take em. We Will beat the Raiders! I can feel it.

    ………………
    Same here UB

  23. kobe Faker Says:

this is what rick stoud tweeted

#Bucs coach Dirk Koetter said because @LSUShep10 is such a key special teams player, he’s limited to 30 snaps on offense.

who said that after that great game by shep in 20 snaps, said koetter the clown was going to still give him limited snaps as a rotational partime player? After sheps performance on the field where it counts, woulnt anybody with eyes agree he should get more snaps? whats this nonsense from Kobe the fool? the team has a better chance of winning and be more successful with shep on the field. The defenses has to play different when shep is on the field..Why is this poster saying this ridiculous comment?

    WHO DID?

WHO SAID THOSE BOLD COMMENTS AFTER SHEPS PERFORMANCE?

    WHO?

    IT WAS I…KOBE FAKER

And on sunday, at all the bars, at the stadium, at all the family gettogethers, all the parties, and in my moms basement……

ALL THE BUCS FANS IN THE WORLD WILL SCREAM

    “WHERE THE FVK IS SHEP!”

  24. unbelievable Says:

Nicely done SB! Getting Miami, Wash, and Baltimore out of the way early.

Figured out who you’re taking this week yet?

  25. godzilla13 Says:

Not good that Clinton McDonald is out. Better to be safe than sorry. Yes, Akeem Spence really needs to step up and help the interior line and put some pressure in the pocket. John Hughes should see some more snaps, I like his intensity. At 6-2 320 he is a perfect nose tackle. To beat the Raiders we need to run the ball, pressure Carr and Winston can not turn the ball over. Both Raider CB’s David Amerson and Sean Smith both had INT so far this year. With Robert Ayers returning and Gerold McCoy playing well the Bucs will have there work cut out for them with a really good Raider OL. The Jaguars’ runners averaged 6.5 yards per carry against Oakland last week, and Spencer Ware had a 131-yard performance against them the prior week. Jacquizz Rodgers should be able to get the running game going.

  26. Buc1987 Says:

    Nice take Godzilla.

  27. SB with Jameis Says:

Thanks UB, yeah, this week was kinda tough. I am going with Minnesota to not lose two and a row. They are playing Chicago

  28. SB with Jameis Says:

Now that you mention it and I get a second look I am thinking maybe the Jets

  29. Pit Says:

Joe what do you think on that fan group?

    Let’s get organized!

  30. Pit Says:

Kobe faker everybody will say where is Shep but nbdy will say Kobe faker was right. Just saying. So stop bitching about it.

  31. Joe Says:

Joe what do you think on that fan group?

Joe’s missing something here. What fan group?

  32. SB with Jameis Says:

Hey Joe, I know that Oakland hasn’t beaten a team with a winning record. The Bucs have. This home game win for Koetter is kind of scary. 3 Road wins by a losing team the previous…..well who cares how many years, coming in looking for their first Home win is Erie. I think we will win. The Irony of the whole thing is just kind of spooky. Especially after Ira’s article earlier today

  33. Lord Corn Says:

Kober Faker = Rus Shep’s close family? Former lover?

  34. Kobe Faker Says:

I will disclose my true identity soon…then everything will add up

  35. unbelievable Says:

  36. godzilla13 Says:

Thanks 87″ I can’t wait to see Penn vs Ayers go toe to toe!
