“It Doesn’t Really Matter”

September 26th, 2016
Crestfallen after loss.

Crestfallen after loss.

The Bucs got their first score when middle linebacker Kwon Alexander got a 38-yard pick-six against the almighty Case Keenum.

After the game, the heart and soul of the defense, the Jameis of the defense, Alexander couldn’t care less about his touchdown. Didn’t want to acknowledge it.

Why? Because the Bucs lost.

“It doesn’t really matter,” a crushed Alexander said. “We lost. I don’t keep up with stats if we don’t get a victory. So it doesn’t really matter.”

Joe did get Alexander to admit yesterday’s pick-six was his first. He did not get one while playing for LSU.

    Such a long way to go for this team.

    So little talent and so many holes to fill and I’m not so sure meathead Licht is the man to fill them.

    Wasting careers of McCoy and David right now.

  2. "The kevin" Says:

    This team is light years away from being good.

    Change coaches all the time same old results.

    Pathetic

  3. Bucsfanman Says:

    Well said ElioT!!
    It’s kind of hard to blame scheme when you don’t have talent. I had higher expectations for this defense. We continue to give up big plays all over the place.
    At least we can rely on our kicker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Coulditreallybeworse? Says:

    i love all the fans that say it’s only game 3. It’s like they forget who we play the next 2 weeks.

    1-4 and I bet everything we lose to the niners as well.

  5. rayjay1122 Says:

    Why do I even put myself through this every season. Just a glutton for punishment I guess. This team just does not know how to be winners. A good team would have dusted the Rams yesterday. The Bucs are sadly yet again not a good football team. Not trolling, just the truth. I met my wife in 2005. The Bucs went to the playoffs against Washington that year and we went to the game. That is the last time they made the post season. My wife being from the North East is a Patriot fan and I have tried as well as herself to turn her into a Bucs fan, but there is just nothing for her to want to cheer for because they play so lousy. The freaking Patriots win with no name QB’s and injuries, still manage to win because that is what they know how to do. The Bucs just know how to lose. SMH!!!!

  6. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

    Draft needs in order: 1a. DE, 1b. burner WR to open up the field, 3. Safety who knows where he needs to be on the field

    Rams 1st 2 weeks on O: Gurley averages 2.5 yards per carry, NO offensive TDs and everyone wants to know when they bench Keenan.

    Against the Bucs? SUPERSTARS!!!! I want to throw up.

    Alexander, is a football player, that the is tired of losing, he need a defense coach that will allow him to blitz and to stop playing scared. The GM need to be fired today. He is the mastermind behind this losing attitude. That would send a message that this losing with not be tolerated. Player’s do not like this GM, because he has no ideal how to talk to the modern day players. The owners need to fly to the raven’s front office and make a deal to sign their top assistance to their GM. Pick up Derrick, and fly to where ever Gruden, is located and beg him to coach this team. leave their and fly to Dallas and do what ever, need to be done to sign their defense coordinator. Tell the GM to fine the nasty and best offensive lineman and start their rebuilt from their. And stop cutting every football player,that get in trouble and stop letting the media and the fans run this team.

    I can’t even begin to comprehend the nonsense you are spewing. This defense is bad but not because all the players are bad. Which explains why or cast-off players go on to good careers. The defense is only as good as it’s weakest player, not it’s best. So we aren’t GMC or LVD or Kwon good. We are Conte BAD! Teams find ways to exploit your weaknesses, and Conte had a lot.

    While I refuse to be such a Debbie Downer like some of the troll posters on this site, I must admit, yesterday was a kick in the nuts. I get sucked in every year…I believe we can win every year. I grow weary of having my dreams dashed. I got everything I wanted…Dirk, Smitty, Jameis. I guess be careful what you wish for. I do think it is still too early to give up. I think the Joe’s were right about the team being 7-9 or .500 this year. Please Glazers…Don’t fire everybody this year. Give Dirk a chance to figure it out. I totally respect our staff, Jameis is a winner, Kwon is the man! We need additional pieces and time to gel. All this being said, I am tired of being embarrassed. Kennum??? Really??? The most plays given up in the league over 40 yards??? Yikes. I still love my Bucs. Yesterday really hurt.

    OVERREACTION MONDAY… SOME OF YOU GUYS ON HERE REALLY NEED TO RELAX . AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS THAT I MUST NOT BE A DIE HARD FAN . I HAVE LITTLE LEAGUE FOOTBALL AND CHEER PROGRAM WITH OVER 150 + KIDS (@NORTH TAMPA BUCS) . SO IM A TRUE FAN TILL THE END. BUT THE REASON FOR MY WORDS TODAY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLING FOR PEOPLES HEAD . ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT JABOO IS NOT A FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK IS JUST CRAZY . HE IS THE 1 PLAYER THAT MESS THIS TEAM RELEVANT. MIKE EVANS IS BIG TIME THE REST OF THIS OFFENSE IS 2ND STRINGS . AND WE STILL PUT UP 32 ON A GREAT DEFENSE. NOW HERE IS WHERE THE PROBLEM IS OUR DEFENSE IS MISSING A LOT OF PIECES DEFINITELY SAFETY (both ) DEFENSE END . SIGN GREG HARDY! HOWEVER OUR BIGGEST HOLE IS DOUG MARTIN ABSENCE . HE IS THE DEFENSE BEST PLAYER . OUR COACH LIKE TO THROW THE BALL SO WHEN YOU LOSE A WORKHORSE LIKE DOUG YOU SCORE QUICK AND YOU MAKE YOUR DEFENSE VURNABLE BECAUSE THEY ARE ON THE FIELD LOANGER AND MORE PLAYS . SO EVERYONE JUST RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR WEEK .

  12. orlbucfan Says:

    No HC/GM Musical Chairs after this season!! We fans and the players demand that ownership lays off for 3 years starting now. No firings. PERIOD!! Our team needs some ##### employment stability.

    Mike Smith has GOT to let Banks play. Yank Conte. He stinks. Denver receivers will eat him alive. Screw that, MS. I can’t say enough about Kwon, LVD, and GMC ‘cept that they were awesome and reminded me of the SB D. DK goes into only his 4th game as an HC. True educated Buc fans are patient. We know who we are. 🙂

  13. Pat Says:

    Simply put- Chris Conte was awful yesterday. The Rams targeted him and it worked nearly every time. He was a weak link on that defense that the Rams exploited throughout the day

  14. Pat Says:

    It’s funny actually now that I think about it… Chris Conti plays the position Mark Barron was drafted to play for the Bucs. It’s as if the Rams said let’s rub it in the Bucs face for trading Mark Barron to us by exploiting the position he was supposed to be successful at with the Bucs. It worked out very well but the Rams

  15. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

    @ rayjay

    “…Why do I even put myself through this every season….”

    Amen brother! I too drank the kool-aid. I too, was pumped up about the Mike Smith hire. I too, was excited about the huge additions of talented CBs. I too was hyped about drafting Spence and adding Ayers. But nothing excited me more than the potential improvement of Jameis.

    IMO, I am still pumped about Jameis’ preformance. But who knew our Safeties would look so lost; who knew we would allow so many ghastly “explosive” plays on D, who knew Lovie would have done a better job of creating sacks on the opposing QB, who knew?!

  16. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

    @Pat

    “…It’s as if the Rams said let’s rub it in the Bucs face for trading Mark Barron…”

    I agree, it is ironic. And it is a good point. But lets keep in mind, as a S, and now as a LB, Barron’s weakness was coverage. Most of Brate’s big catches were bc Barron was responsible for covering our TE’s

  17. BugHogHaynes Says:

    Now you need stability, what I been telling you before ya’ll BACK/STABBED LOVIE, but I ain’t gonna slapp you in the face with it, because I agree with you, we just need our GM to not have the last word! What a dummy for drafting a kicker by giving up a valuable pick! Am I right Realist? What say you Tmaxcon? 13 games to play with 8 games to win!!

  18. Pat Says:

    @Harry

    Agree about Baron and his play with the Rams yesterday. He did manage to make one play that turned into a big interception though.

    My point was more focused on the offensive of philosophy of the Rams for this game. They looked at the weakest link on our defense and exploited the hell out of it. That is what won the game for them. I do not believe it was Mike Smith scheme that mailed the box yesterday. In short, Chris Conte did slightly better than I would have done out there. I am a 53-year-old white man who is balding and has horrible knees

  19. Pat Says:

    @Big Hog
    I really loved it when the Bucs hired Lovie Smith. However, he was terrible as a head coach here. He had to go. His defensive scheme does not work anymore unless it comes with John Lynch Derrick Brooks and Warren Sapp. Upon further review I believe the Rams merely exploited the weakest link on this defense namely Chris Conte. It was clear from the start of the game all the way to the end that they were going to target Chris Conte the whole game and it worked

  20. Harry in Costa Rica Says:

    @Pat,

    And Tandy looked like me getting juked for a TD – a 60 yo, white guy with bad knees and back. lol

    As bad as our D looked yesterday (spit for sacks, giving up huge chunks of yards, making Gurley look like the stud he is and making Keenan look like the stud he is NOT), NOTHING looked worse than our safety play (or lack thereof). I think if I were Mike Smith I would have pulled Tandy and Conte and put Verner and Hey Jude out there at S, even though that is not there position. Conte and Tandy were HORRIFIC!!

  21. 813bucboi Says:

    @bucsfanman says….”It’s kind of hard to blame scheme when you don’t have talent. I had higher expectations for this defense……

    no one said that last year with lovie…..the crazy thing is we have more talent on defense now than we did last year and the defense actually looks worse….maybe with the talent we have now year3 under lovie would’ve been better than year1 with smitty….at this rate with the defense giving up an average of 33points per game smitty will be gone by week9….GO BUCS!!!!

  22. sho nuff Says:

    BugHog…Lovie was as stupid as they come…he had NO PLAN on defense and drafted stupid…he set this franchise back 3 years….own it

  23. Waterboy Says:

    Agree with 1nebuc and Harry in Costa Rica!

    I didn’t drink the media kool-aid this off-season and stayed realistic about what this team is at this point and what they’re realistically capable of. I think a lot of people really wanted to believe that Lovie Smith was so bad that he was holding the team down and by replacing him this team would immediately become a playoff contender. Reality is this team is still missing quite a few pieces and although they’re much better than last year they’re no more than an average 8-8 team. Another off-season of bringing in new talent and continued growth by Winston and a few other young players should push them a little closer but as of now they’re not what a lot of you have fooled yourselves into thinking they are. So brace for several more angry Monday mornings before the seasons over because reality is coming whether you want it to or not.

  24. Bucsfanman Says:

    @813- My statement was a backhanded slap to all the people crying about the Tampa 2 and Lovie’s defense last year. We’re not good, and we were supposed to be better with the infused talent.

  25. 813bucboi Says:

    @sho nuff…same can be said about smitty’s trash defense with no plan and no adjustments after halftime….licht drafting a kicker instead of 2 players that could’ve helped this team on defense may set this team back….thru the first 3 games last year, lovies defense didn’t give up an average of 33 points…smitty’s defense has….the defense has regressed…own it….GO BUCS!!!!

  26. 813bucboi Says:

    @bucsfanman….got it….great job….GO BUCS!!!

  27. America's Commenter Says:

    What’s the common thread in all the Buccaneers losing? It started when Malcolm Glazer fell ill and the Glazer boys took over. The fortunes of this franchise are not likely to change as long as the same people who have blown so many decisions are in charge.
