Green Light For David, Smith

September 24th, 2016
Ready to play Sunday says Bucs coach.

Ready, says Bucs coach.

Injuries hit Lavonte David and Donovan Smith his week.

However, both will be ready to play Sunday.

That’s the word from Bucs coach Dirk Koetter last night as he spoke on “Late Hits,” co-hosted by Gil Brandt and Alex Marvez heard exclusively on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Alex Marvez: Coach Koetter, question for you: Lavonte David, Donovan Smith. How optimistic are you that they will be good to go on Sunday?

Dirk Koetter: Yeah, they are both good to go, those guys. Donovan, we gave him a day off on Wednesday. Lavonte David has been full-go all week. We have some injury issues but we are glad that we have both of those guys at full strength.

On the injury report released late Friday, both David (shoulder) and Smith (hip) were listed as “questionable.” Apparently, the questions have been answered.

Hope JW is on target, I have feeling defense will come all out this week to revenge last week performance.

    Koetter vs greg williams

Lets see what koetter does if the defense shuts down the screen game and blankets mike evans

Koetter couldnt figure it out vs arizona….lets pray

Shutting down the screen and Mike Evans should open things up for a heavy dose of Adam Humphries and Cameron Brate.

I’m not sure Koetter couldn’t figure it out against AZ. There were plays to be made that our players left out on the field. #3 was the main culprit but his receivers didn’t help either. That int to Petersen will get broken up by ME 3 out of 4 times.

Losing the star running back didn’t help either. Yeah an OC has to make adjustments during the game and at half and I’m not saying Koetter had a great game…just saying I never fear another coach outwitting him in terms of the chess game.

Nice to be back to talking football.

I think falling behind the way we did in Arizona made our offense easy to defend. Early in the game with Martin in we moved the ball. For this reason I think it’s crucial we get an early lead this week. If we can get the Rams out of hand the ball to Gurley mode I think winning gets a lot easier. But that early lead is easier said than done.

    Hey hey a bright spot.

Need a patient, lots of sweeps, screens, short passes to Brate (he can catch), Sims, (he can catch, too) Hump (already a fan), etc., keep Fisher guessing. He’s a smart HC. Smith needs to let Banks play. Earth to Joes: DON’T FORGET THE COUNTDOWN CLOCK TOMORROW!! We need all the luck we can get. Go Tampa Bay on the Bay Tomorrow!!

I forgot to write “patient game plan.” Old Age in dogs. 🙁

  9. Buccfan37 Says:

At this point players are fully ready to go if they can walk straight without limping or wincing.

Given the ferocious nature of the Rams D line I’m particularly glad that Donovan will suit up to protect #3’s backside.

The NFL network says Lavonte David is out.
    What the heck?
