Everybody’s Back

Mighty foe awaits, explains a former Pro Bowler.

So what’s really most scary about the Arizona Cardinals?

Joe’s got an answer for you via the former Cardinals great and 2004 NFC sacks leader Bertrand Berry.

Joe really recommends the interview of Berry below from his visit to WDAE-AM 620 this week. Berry is a radio host in Arizona and really hits on a lot of neat pregame points in advance of the Bucs-Cardinals clash on Sunday.

Berry notes the Cardinals offense, ranked No. 1 in the NFL last year and No. 2 in points scored, returns every player who gained a yard or scored a touchdown.

That’s impressive stuff, which is why every fantasy football players known to man is well versed in the Cardinals’ weapons.

Berry also explains that the Cardinals’ fan base is in full meltdown mode after the loss to the Patriots last weekend, and that has led to extreme pressure on the team.

If TB somehow starts fast, and gets a lead, watch out. The Card implosion will begin.

  2. Defense Rules Says:

No question that the Cardinals have talent, but so do the Bucs … and lots of it. In the NE game, Carson Palmer went 24-for-37 (65%) for 271 yds with 2 TDs (both 1-yd passes to Fitzgerald). But he was also sacked 3 times … the Bucs should be able to get to him. Johnson scored the other TD rushing and had 16 attempts for 89 yds … an impressive average, but 1 run was for 45 yds (take that away and he averaged only 3 yds per rush). Interestingly to me, both Fitzgerald & Johnson were on the field for over 95% of the Cardinals plays … wow.

Defensively the Cardinals were decent but not spectacular. Gave up 24-for-33 (73%) for 264 yds to Jimmy Garoppolo (who?) … Jameis & the Bucs should be able to do reasonably well passing against that defense I’d think. Pats only threw deep on 4 plays (hit on 2-for-4) … all the rest (29 out of 33 passes) were short, and pretty evenly distributed across the field. Again, the Bucs should be able to capitalize there with Martin & Sims especially. Cardinals had very little rotation with their LBs & secondary, but did rotate their DLinemen a bunch. Bucs hurry-up offense might give their DLine fits. Should be a great game.

  3. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Jamies and the offense better bring it, because Arizona’s offense will be full steam ahead. I expect them to pull out all the stops to put up a ton of points.

  4. Mojiska Says:

Cards d looked average last week. Need v jax, hump, sims, ASJ to have good games cause Peterson will be on evans a lot. But behind him they don’t have good corners, and Mathieu is still trying to find his game coming off an injury. Glad we play them early, that secondary is our best shot to win.

  5. Kobe Faker Says:

Bruce Arians going to go 100mph

He is going no huddle and see if we fixed our communication breakdowns

crossing patterns from Fritz and Floyd all day long

Dirk was conservative in the 4th quarter

Jaboo and the off could have scored a td blindfolded and iced the game

Jaboo had 2 pass attempts in the 4th quarter

    2? really dirk really?

this whole year if we lose, I want Jameis to lose it in his hands

let arizona beat jameis not our coaching

    Its all about the process

  6. GhostofTedford Says:

Run heavy, run often. When this schedule first came out I looked at the first five games and just shook my head. We win Sunday and being 5-0 to start the season is not unreasonable.

  7. The Other Side of the Coin Says:

Watch out for panic mode. If the cards are freaking, mistakes are likely to be made. Looking for Buc defense to grab a couple if INT’s, one with a pic six.

  8. Pickgrin Says:

The pressure is on the Cardinals to win – and the Bucs are in essence playing with house $ this week and coming in loose and confident. I could see that working in our favor.

2-0 would be a GREAT start to this season. Not gonna get my hopes up too high because AZ has a lot of talent on their roster. But then again, so do the Bucs. Especially on offense. Whichever defense performs better will probably determine the game – along with turnovers of course. Hope we can force some. If we win the turnover battle and don’t make too many stupid and untimely mistakes – The Bucs are certainly capable of winning this game.

  9. Mike Johnson Says:

Make no mistake about it Pickgrin..There is enormous pressure on the Cardinals to win Sunday. They have been called out by their GM and coaches.
There Key is Palmer. if he starts fast? Watch out. If he starts slow, you gotta keep the pressure on him. because he is the type of Vet who seems to have that..4th qtr magic. Although the cards look a little slower this year, You just cannot say they are after 1 game and preseason. WE..gotta be on top of our game to the max. That stadium is twice as loud as ATL. And they always sellout or come close. We must weather that 1st half storm they will send. I’m hoping DC Smith gives the Def Line a blow here and there. They started to get winded during Sundays 4th qtr. And the hogs on that AZ O line will wear you down. Yes, we have a chance. But that Defensive pressure gotta go up another notch this Sunday.. This will be a tough dirty physical game.

  10. Stpetebucsfan Says:

Remember after last week’s win…Koetter’s first…then the comparison to coaches who won their first…like Schiano who turned out to be busts. LMAO

Quinn and the Falcons won their first FIVE last year. We better not do that or the stories will be…Bucs win first five but don’t get excited because remember the Falcons did that last year and look what happened to them.

IMHO last week’s win simply freed us up to do what we need to do…play the schedule one week at a time. If we had lost…that would have been five in a row dating back to last year and our confidence would have been tested more than I wanted to see.

This now is just another game. Yeah against a quality team…pre season favorite to compete for the SB…so I get that it’s a bit of a measuring stick…but overall…it’s just one more game.

I’d love to win but I’m still looking for the same thing I was last week…no injuries and no stupid penalties. We were one for two last week…no stupid penalties but losing Jack Smith was a bummer.

  11. 911bucs Says:

I’ll be at the game in Az Sunday, just hope I get out of the stadium alive after a Bucs win!

  12. Vegabuc Says:

Don’t worry 911Bucs. Arizona fans are not Eagles fans. Sheer your team and be loud. Good luck and enjoy a win (hopefully).

  13. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

The cards have this the cards have that. Blah blah blah blah blah. The cards don’t have a Famous.. Nothing else needs to be said.

  14. cometowin2 Says:
