Choking On The Final Drive

September 25th, 2016
Ugly finish

Ugly finish

For a quarterback who made a huge name for himself in pressure situations, America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, sure choked in his decsision-making on the final play.

Man, Jameis had legitimate room to run for a game-ending touchdown attempt, and he had receivers in the end zone to try and hit with a 15-yard pass and/or possibly draw a penalty. But instead, Jameis hesitated, got caught in no-man’s-land, and the Bucs’ chances whimpered away as Jameis ran too late and got stopped at the 5 yard line.

Game over.

What makes it even more discouraging was the Bucs had more than an hour to mentally run over that final drive because of a lightning delay.

Jameis was no franchise quarterback on the final drive. And seconds earlier, without pressure in his face, Jameis missed an open Vincent Jackson at the goal line.

There’s surely no guarantee Jackson would have caught the ball. Lord knows he’s struggled mightily, but Joe would have liked to see him at least be given a shot with a decent throw.

Sad times, Bucs fans.

VJAX & AGUAYO, DRAGGIN THIS TEAM DOWN!

SOFT ASS MOTHERFCUKERS, GO NURSE YOUR TENDER LEGS< YOU SOFT ASS MOTHERFCUKERS!

  3. Ben the GA Buc Says:

VJax also dropped a pass that would have put us inside the 10.

Bad finish all around. Gonna take a while to get over that one.

  4. Supersam Says:

Winston has serious accuracy issues. Simple as that.

  5. stevek Says:

I am pissed about waiting an hour plus just to watch a freaking no-throw.

I could not agree more, Joe, there needs to be a run or pass there, not a WTF moment like the one we witnessed.

  6. LargoBuc Says:

We are going to have to see that stupid ass play non stop for the next 24 hours.

  7. This Guy Right Here Says:

HAD YOUR BACK THRU THE PRESEASON AGUAYO!… TURNS OUT, YOURE JUST MENTALLY SOFT!!!

    FCUK YOU DUDE!!!

  8. gotbbucs Says:

He’s not a franchise QB yet. Great QB’s don’t hand the opposition TD’s. He has a nasty habit of throwing picks deep in his own territory.

    He’s Kirk Cousins right now.

  9. Dan Says:

Good players dont stay good when they are in Tampa we are not a good organization love the Bucs but we have been awful since 08

  10. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Why didn’t they stop the clock after the Sims catch!!!?????!!!????

  11. rrsrq Says:

Team is predictable without the threat of the run, Sims is nice but he is no Doug

  12. Tampa Tony Says:

Please stop referring to him as a Franchise QB. He clearly is the farthest from it. Jameis and the defense are the biggest problems this team is facing. The kicker is right behind them

  13. Buccaneer scotty Says:

7-9 is looking like a great season! What a fin joke!!

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Except for the last series….Winston played great…..but it’s the last series that cost us a come-from-behind victory.

Aguayo cost us dearly……but our defense looked really soft and gave up too many big plays….again.

  15. Jimmer Says:

Simms not getting out of bounds really hurt.

  16. iamkingsu Says:

    @Joe

Can you please make a suggestion to Koetter Winston or whoever that in the redzone can they take a shot to Mike Evans or Vincent Jackson mainly Evans. Their size is their skillset in the redzone.

  17. rrsrq Says:

Sam Bradford threw for 177 yards today, no AP, but the Vikes got a pass rush and safeties

  18. chargedcbh Says:

This team has NO SPEED nobody can separate. Its going to be a long year. Smith stop shaking and baking, just hit the FN hole!!

  19. MadMax Says:

JW3, the fk man? You couldve ran that ish in for the td!!!!!!!!

Im beginning to think we’re stuck with another hyped QB who isnt what he’s supposed to be. I hope not, but its looking that way….smdh.

  20. Ben the GA Buc Says:

    @Supersam

Winston had 62% passing efficiency. It’s not really an accuracy issue.

We had no bombs today. No deep threat. All intermediate routes in zone coverage. We have to get someone who can stretch the field and open more of it up.

I know that’s not the main issue but I don’t even want to talk about the defense today.

  21. Bucnut2 Says:

JW sucks- simple as that.He sucked early, sucked late and is NOT a franchise QB.

  22. LargoBuc Says:

My trust in Jameis is low. I do not have confudence that he will lead us to victory. He is not a difference maker. He is a young, inaccurate qb with bad mechanics and he is not yet good enough to win you games. If Jameis is farther behind than many thought, I dont know if Koetter survives a 5-11, 4-12 season.

  23. The Dom is gone... Licht??? Says:

    —–
Last boneheaded play aside, Jameis is what kept us in this game. We couldn’t count on our defense to do it. Jameis is the one who put us in position to win. Him and Bryan Anger. Anger may be the player of the game today.

We HAVE a franchise QB. He just can’t do it all by himself.

  28. LovieBall Says:

Wow you people are sad. We would not have even been in a situation to win the game without Jameis. This was a defensive and time management failure.

  29. FlumundaCheese Says:

60% completions, 400 yards passing, but jameis sucks? Put the blame where it belongs.

  30. iamkingsu Says:

Ridiculous post. You think the game would be this close with Glennon at QB? GTFOH.

  34. BucsFan30 Says:

Dirk Koetter (aka the worst gameclock manager in the NFL) coached the killer instinct out of Famous Jameis. Never seen Jameis so timid in my life

  35. iamkingsu Says:

  37. Rojas Says:

The whole game isn’t on James, not his fault Jackson is playing with no effort. Seemed like every time we made a big play there was always a holding call on D Smith or Dotson. Why they didn’t call a time out after Sims catch, I don’t understand.

  38. iamkingsu Says:

    @bucfan

That was my next comment. I didn’t watch the game but I’ve never seen JAMEIS hesitate on a throw in his entire life

  39. Chris Says:

The whole effing team is soft, sorry, 90% of this team is soft . The friggin Rams scored a seasons worth of points on us. Simms doesn’t go out of bounds. Vince Jacksons back to his boozy, selfish disappearing Charger days. I could get deep on our safeties. We have no pass rush, the greatest pass rusher since Simeon Rice, where’s he? Is he even playing? Agauyo , it’s unbelievable that’s there some of you still trying to defend that pick with the obvious holes everywhere on this team. THIS TEAM IS WEAK, gonna drink me some Ohio moonshine and drown my sorrows

  40. LargoBuc Says:

And it is really starting to look lile Koetter should have either stayed OC or let him walk. His rapport eith Jsmeis is not winning us games. Then again, if Jameis looks this bad with a coach and a system he “knows” imahine hom in another new offense. I just don’t know anymore.

Wasn’t that after VJax dropped what would have been first and goal?

  43. Buccfan37 Says:

Jackson would have caught that ball if thrown to him for TD and win.

  44. gotbbucs Says:

You can’t get that lost on the last play of the game.

Vincent Jackson is toast, we have no #2 reciever right now. Without any speed we won’t to dick on offense.

  45. Buc1987 Says:

    But.

I could feel it in my bones.

    We we’re supposed to win.

  46. Rob Says:

Should have pump faked and sprinted and dove for the win. Any real Franchise quarterback would have done that. The Anointed one, America’s qb (lmfao) cropped the bed. That’s your boy Joe

  47. Hck61 Says:

Jameis is a promising 2nd year quarterback thats it . The head coach had his head up his ass should have called time out and regrouped . Message to Dirk kottier use your time outs you can’t carry them over to the next game !

  48. Aristotle Says:

Still glad we have Jameis, with him on the team, I still believe there’s a chance. What’s with this organization and hating Connor Barth, he got the best out of the Bucs each time. #Karma #NewKicker

  49. Rojas Says:

Think it’s time to call up Butler from the PS.

  50. Deathaneers Says:

Jamarcus Winston is not a franchise QB. Enough said

  51. EA Says:

He ran until well after the line of scrimmage and then stopped to look who was open WTF.

The Chucky and second round draft pick curses are alive and well, the hype for this season is over.

Americas QB, Pro bowler Jameis Winston stood there lost at most critical play of the game, just like Jeff Fisher predicted.

  52. This Guy Right Here Says:

Someone call some SJW FEM Nazis on Aguayo… The way he just fcuked this team today…

  53. Buc1987 Says:

Yah I had no idea WHY he wasn’t running for the the TD as I was telling everyone in my house he was going to do if no one was open.

Crushed and baffled. Come on 21 year old kid, get it together…

  54. BUC IT Says:

Personally I’d rather blame Dirk on not using that other time out! Are you kidding me??? Or what about our 2nd round I mean 2nd rate kicker. That also cost us the game cause we went for 2 twice! So I mainly put this L on Koetter and Licht!

  55. Buc1987 Says:

This Guy…I called my mom and told her I’m going to Tampa tomorrow to string Aguayo up by his nuts!

  56. DallasBuc Says:

It wasn’t as bad as all that. He made some throws that got us in position. He made a few accuracy and decision mistakes. It’s frustrating but he is young. I love the way Winston competes. We kept fighting back and fell short at the end. Not as upset as I was a week ago

  57. The Dom is gone... Licht??? Says:

Missed FG xtra point lost us the game! 2nd Rd pick!

  58. VaBuc Says:

Jameis isnt the answer plan and simple mock drafts : WR, Saftey(and in free agency) defensive end of course , kicker, kicker, saftey, RB

  59. Dee Says:

Look at the points this defense has giving up.Wow

  60. BuccaneEric75 Says:

BUCNUT2, WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST WE DO? DO YOU WANT TO TRADE JAMEIS RIGHT NOW? LETS DRAFT A QB NEXT DRAFT?! DONT HIDE NOW! YOU ARE THE IDEA GUY! WHAT NOW???

  61. Chris Says:

Wait for 620 to make excuses for them and say we are not loyal fans and jumping off ship to quickly.

  62. 1nebuc Says:

This is a 22yr old young man that is trying to turn a a team around with a bunch of second string players. Im so passed right now cause we lost . He bounced back strong . the int was not his fault . Robert Quinn is a beast . The problem is we are giving up 40 points a game.

  63. Chris Says:

The mental weakness and indecisevness , it’s par the course for this team. We saved two timeouts for what????

  64. This Guy Right Here Says:

87, That little fcuker cost us the game….

Cause he’s a mental fggaot, too weak in the dome!

  65. mike10 Says:

Well we know who we are. Got waxed by a good team last week and lost to a bad football team that hadn’t scored a TD before today….

Sad times indeed. So much preseason hype for this same ol crap.

    My crap list:
Grimes, Verner, Mike Smith, Noah ghost Spence, VJax (again), AGUAYO and JW (saw his inaccuracies again)

  66. ARGH_M8E Says:

These bums r gonna kill my father… not a joke, GET IT TOGETHER!!! Not cool

  67. This Guy Right Here Says:

Chris, go suck your moms cok. This was on Aguayo, period! And in turn on Licht!

Tell me how salty your moms balls are.

  68. ChrisNC Says:

Well we ignored the signs at FSU, but having a local kicker was more important than more weapons or safeties or another pass rusher

  69. iamkingsu Says:

The man threw for 405 yards and 3 tds mf’s.. That was horrible clock manage to after a delay of a hour. Facing 3rd and 11 with timeouts Rams backed up inside their 5. You must assume you’re getting the ball back. And when you use your timeouts

  70. acwilder Says:

Wow. You have to love the same people who were claiming Jameis was the savior after week 1 are now ready to move on from him as a QB. If you don’t think Jameis is going to be a franchise QB you have not been paying attention to the garbage we have had at QB the last several years. Is he going to make some bad plays along the way? Yes. Is he going to improve along the way? Yes.

  71. BUC IT Says:

No way Jameis would’ve ran for a TD. No chance. We did not lose on that play. We lost because of the time out or because of our kicker or our pathetic defense.

  72. Rod Munch Says:

You guys are dopes. He had no one open, hesitated on the play to keep the Rams defenders back on their guys – they thought he could still throw the ball. He had to go 15 yards to get into the endzone and got to the 5 before anyone touched him and was only caught because his o-line gave up and let him get hit from behind. Wow, really pinning this loss on Jameis when he brought them back from down 2 scores with 4 mins left and got them to the 5 yard line? Really. Give it a rest morons, Winston was great and went down trying to make a big play. The Rams have an excellent defense and he ripped them apart for 400 yards and 3 TDs, he more than did his part. The Bucs defense meanwhile was terrible, they gave up 31 points to the worst offense in the NFL. David and Kwon had good days, the safeties and corners were terrible.

  73. iamkingsu Says:

You leave a timeout and extra down to go on the board?? Only the bucs

  74. Pit Says:

i think Joe said Winston is our Savior. What if Joe was wrong ????

    OMG the world is ending.

P.S We still have to find our franchise QB.Winston is not it.

  75. tnew Says:

agree that Jameis choked, but more disturbing is Koetter saving timeouts. Clock can’t be at zero with timeouts on the clock. Horrible clock management. That was a big fail.

  76. Tbbucs3 Says:

The Heck has Noah Spence been? What was all that pre draft hype for? the guy cant block shed, so what if was good in D1AA competion, This is the next Michael Ghost Johnson.

  77. iamkingsu Says:

    @rod munch

That’s why I had stopped commenting on this site. It’s some morons on here

  78. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Jameis may have choked on the last series…..but he put up over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns at 68% against a very good defense.
I’m not worried about Jameis Winston going forward…..but our defense….that’s another matter.

  79. This Guy Right Here Says:

Winstons still legit, even as Roberto fcuked him in the ass today.

But dont worry Roberto! This isnt on you… Its actually on the Dude who gave up some serious draft dollars, to pick up your soft mentally-weak ass.

Jason Licht, what the motherfcuk were you thinkin???=

  80. Chucklehead Says:

Cant put it all on Jameis. Sims should have stepped out of bounds but stayed in and cost us a lot of precious time, Vjax dropped one inside the 10. Cant believe it went down like it did. Im tired of getting trounced by scrubs and getting owned in our own crib. Fix it now!!!!!!!!!!!!

  81. Kevinm Says:

Bring back chucky pay him what he wants

  82. Rod Munch Says:

iamkingsu – I think it’s the sports talk radio generation of morons, they think they have a “hot” take that will impress everyone because they’re so edgy, when in reality they’re just bores that don’t even understand the game they’re watching.

  83. Kevinm Says:

Have a respectable team again under gruden he would never tolerate this crap

  84. Dork butter Says:

Where to start? Defense is just good enough, if you had an average offense. Unfortunately, sorry to say, Worst combination, dumb players and physically weak compared to league. Jamis weak mentally, hate to see where he’d be without all the “time” he puts in. What was that last play. He will NEVER be a top QB, wasted pick like kicker. Dorks play book is weak and makes players look like they have a load in their pants. Vjax soo bad, back up TE better that all, should have been playing all along, what does that tell you. Dork and his offense is not the answer, will take another regime, QB, bigger RB to go with Simms, etc to ever get better. They are somehow even worse than LA

  85. iamkingsu Says:

    Chucklehead

How did sims cost precious seconds when you have 2 timeouts at that particular time?

  86. Buc1987 Says:

This game came down to more than the final drive.

The Rams put up 37 points on us and our secondary is atrocious.

Aguayo can go hang himself for all I care at this point and I mean it Bonzai.

  87. Pit Says:

    JOE for GM!!!!!!!

  88. This Guy Right Here Says:

    Aguayo fcuked us today… period.

and I had this little fcuks back, all thru the preseason… telling folks he’d get over it…

turns out, he’s just a mentally soft little fggaot, capable of bringin down this team on any given sunday.

    FCUK YOU AGUAYO!!!

  89. Kevinm Says:

Spend money on a quality coach defensive end and number 2 receiver

  90. FIRETHECANNONS Says:

I was yelling for them to take a timeout after the sims catch and I was shocked they didn’t. Jameis didn’t play a great game but he helped put up 36 points. I have zero, actually negative confidence in the kicker to make anything at this point. I don’t put this all on our QB I think the defense played awful again. Idk why we always make Case Keenum look like Aaron Rodgers but we do.

The pick 6 was not his fault that was just a great heads up play by their defense, as well was that strip/fumble return. Our defense always lets us down. We put up 32 as a team (+4 if we had a kicker) so it’s easy to blame Winston cause that last drive was less then to be desired. But honestly, it was the defense, yet again.

  91. Buc1987 Says:

This Guy Right Here…I TOLD EVERYONE BEFORE THE DRAFT ON HERE THAT WOULD LISTEN.

I’m FSU and I HATED the Aguayo pick. Not even for the trade up, that was just MORONIC anyways.

I hated the pick, because I THOUGHT Aguayo lost his mojo in 2015.

    Am I right now?

    Can YOU hear me now?

  92. tnew Says:

chuckle… don’t blame Simms… I thought it was good to get an extra bunch of yards. Two timeouts on the clock, thats on the coach.

  93. MikeCK Says:

Some of you guys are morons…I’m sorry.
Claiming that Winston is “the farthest thing from a franchise QB”, or “we can’t trust him” or even “he had accuracy issues”. Really????

He was 36/58…that’s 62%. Several drops today. How does he have accuracy issues and have a 62% completion percentage.

The guy throws for 405 yards! 3TDs and 1int that hit Sims in tje hands…and that’s STILL not enough.

Defense gives up 320 yards and 37 points (even with 14 off turnovers that’s 23) and your putting it on Winston!!

36/58 405 yards 3TDs and 1int….that is franchise QB all day. I don’t think he makes that TD run at the end, he is slow. Looks like a hole but YOU didn’t see what he did. He led that team down for the “go-ahead” TD with less that 3 minute left and the defense gives it right back…but it’s Winstons fault. Bucs left 5 points on the field in missed conversions and another 3 on a missed 44yd FG but Winston can’t be trusted. Unbelievable.

Guy puts 26 points up with 405yds, and only 1int. What else do you want? He shouldn’t have HAD to be there with seconds left. The game was won but the defense blows.

  94. The Dom is gone... Licht??? Says:

No for JOE he would bring back DOM!!!!

  95. FIRETHECANNONS Says:

    Helped put up 32 points*

  96. Dee Says:

The defense choke every week thats 80 points in two weeks.

  97. Buc1987 Says:

Sorry not before the draft, but during the draft…

  98. Me? Says:

I’m not overreacting enough to say Jameis is a bust, that’s insane-he has a lot to improve on, but he’s 21 years old, give him time. He definitely played well enough to win this game. The defense, poor clock management and Aguayo lost this game. The kicking game obviously needs to implove, whether it’s our second round pick or not

  99. FlumundaCheese Says:

We didn’t need to make a run at travis benjamin, mohammed sand or marvin jones though…vjax mfs. Give me a break.

  100. Chris Says:

Lol 87. We’ve been in agreement since preseason Aguayo. Well at least for me, the pressures off. I know where this teams going ,it’ll make watching Sunday’s more enjoyable for me. I’ll root for individuals I like , Winston, despite the bonehead play , Humphries, really like him, Evans looks to have a big year. But to even hit .500 for this team would be a far stretch. And chill That Guy, my moms dead and you’re an ass for that insult , Internet tough guy.

  101. Chucklehead Says:

    Iamkingsu

Because he fell inbounds when he already had the first down. I dont know about you, but that saves me from having to decide to burn that time out if he simply steps/falls out of bounds. That put us in a tough situation. Hurry to the line of scrimage or take the time out? Obviously, the game wasnt won yet and you need that t.o. in case of a sack .

  102. MadMax Says:

Against a Rams team Rod! Yes they have a formidable defensive front but I know what I watched. I think half of those yards came in the last 10 minutes. Their DB’s suck….but the over throws JW put up were worse.

But seriously, that last play, he looked confused or something. He couldve tried to run it in. I dont know what happened. It was very Freemanish!

  103. DallasBuc Says:

Maybe we should to turn to Glennon?

  105. BucsFan90 Says:

Mike Smith’s defense is HOT GARBAGE. At least Lovie had the excuse of not drafting any defensive talent during his 2 years. Wtf is Mike’s excuse?

  106. Pewter Lou Says:

Joe,you really need some like and dislike buttons ala Facebook on here so we can thumb down some of these dumba$$ comments. It wasn’t a perfect game from JW,but y’all are free to roll with Mariota if ya think he’s putting up something better. We were in a position that we shouldn’t have even been in in the first place. Jesus dudes, missed kicks,no pressure, horrible safety play,AGAIN. No doubt this is a kick in the nuts,AGAIN,but to pin this on Jameis as the goat is ridiculous.

  107. Dlavid Says:

Having to go for two late in the game because you have no confidence in the kicker and he put you in this situation to begin with . Get on the phone Jason .

  108. Bculaw Says:

Can’t hang this one on JW. Period. He was one of the bright spots in this game, and is one of the few building blocks we have right now. Lord, this defense is bad, though.

for whatever reason.accurracy issues or possible turnovers, believe Jameis is being told to take no chances and check down.Foolish to turn Jameis into Captain Checkdown.I,ll take the gunslinger Jameis even with the accuracy issues over a timid captain captain checkdown who is afraid to make a mistake.
Expected a more aggressive approach from Koetter,Time management was
very reminiscent of the last two years.Jameis made a dumb play at the end of game, but Koetter successfully ran the clock out on his own team.

No, bad play by Winston but we ain’t even there without that drive before by him. He was throwing darts and the great jump ball to Evans. No, this loss is on Koetter, Mike Smith, Licht and Aguayo.

  117. DallasBuc Says:

Welcome Ben in GA. I just spent my weekend in your beautiful state.
Problem is that there are too many situational failures at once. That’s on the HC and I expect improvement each game.
In the previous regime we get blown out. At least we continued to fight back and compete.
    Facts

  118. Chris Says:

And they’re why we will have at least two losses to Carolina, one or two to the Saints and one to the Broncos. That’s nine losses and no telling how many more. Just think, the Rams were more anemic than the Titans team we loss the first game to last year

  119. Buc1987 Says:

Correct Chris….WE lucked into Jamesi Winston.

    The stars were aligned.

Lovie sucked and we got Jameis.

  120. iamkingsu Says:

24 + 40 + 37 = Blame Winston?? Stop somebody maybe he won’t be pressed to score every friggin possession. Because the kid is going down swinging every time despite that last play. It’s all he knows. Despite that last play

  121. Not there yet Says:

Winston didn’t choke. The reality is he’s a second year player with heart and fire but he’s a second year player and the fact that a team full of veterans anointed an unproven player in the NFL tells you that strong willed players on this team are still out numbered by the weak minded and veterans who are used to losing with this franchise. We’re not even close and neither is Winston but he’s on his way one he stops throwing high to 6’5 receivers

  122. Buc1987 Says:

    Preach it Dallas.

  123. Tbbucs3 Says:

There are many problems on our team, Offense is not one of them. Were still a top 10 ten offense but a bottom 5 defense. Our defense frickin stinks man, we could of hired one of the best D coordinators in the game in Swartz but no we hired our buddy. This has been worse than Lovies defense. We have no kicker, Aguayo is not ready for the NFL.

On to the might Denver Broncos.

  124. Chris Says:

And whoever said he overthrew VJax at the five wasn’t watching the same game I was, hit him right in the hands

  125. Buc1987 Says:

Blame the 21 year old franchise QB that puts up GAWDY numbers against a purty good Rams D?

I’ll save that for Bucnut2 and wtfever clowns that are left and are just trying to pull him down for some ulterior motive or reason.

Jameis Winston will win a Super Bowl for YOUR team and VERY soon.

You can take that to your mama’s bank and your bank as well.

  126. Waterboy Says:

Some of you guys are funny and ridiculous! I’d love for them to have the last play back but I was very happy with Winston’s overall performance. The reality is and always has been that this team is still missing quite a few piece and not a legit playoff contender.

  127. Chucklehead Says:

    Iamkingsu

Heres my theory. Any time you need a score in the 4th qrt and less than 2 mins left and you are able to get out of bounds…. you step out.
Obviously, this didnt have that much of an impact on the final result but it did burn 15 to 17 seconds off the clock in crunch time. Not sure why they didnt burn a time out, I wasn’t on the sidelines, but we could have definitely used those extra seconds. Between the weather delay, running out of time, dropped catchable passes, and that final play, the team choked. I was simply pointing out the fact that it wasn’t all on Winston. Team loss.

  128. BucFan20 Says:

You know, all I seem to remember is people hollering about? A franchise QB with the game on the line in a comeback situation having the brains and skills to pull it off. Knows exactly what to do and does it. Does that sound familiar? Now who were we told had all this. Did all this and could do all this? There was the perfect chance and he froze! So don’t give me the EXCUSE we should never have been in that situation anyway.

  129. BigHogHaynes Says:

Where are you Tmaxcon & Realist, they will tell us all who to blame this loss on! 13 games to play and 7 games to win!

  130. iamkingsu Says:

    @87

JAMEIS wil win multiple Super Bowls here

  131. Chris Says:

Big Hog, we might not match Lovies total last year and that’s sad, because , despite your beliefs, Lovie sucks to high hell Just, Licht sucks worse than he does

  132. Chris Says:

Gives us a defense with toast Conte and toast Tandy.

  133. Buc1987 Says:

BucFan20…..what would GLENNON have done today?

    STFU!

    Next!

  134. Chucklehead Says:

    Iamkingsu

“Jameis will win multiple super bowls here”

Im 100% with you on that.

  135. BucFan20 Says:

Real internet badazz 87. Your just a litte upset your boy let you down!!

  136. lightningbuc Says:

LMAO! People talking about multiple Super Bowls? Can Jaboo kick, can he play safety, can he rush the passer, or play wide receiver, can he be a competent GM? This team has so many holes, to talk about a Super Bowl, no matter the QB, is sheer stupidity!

  137. iamkingsu Says:

When we get into the redzone can we target Mike EVans please got d@mn?? That was the knock on Koetter in Atlanta he didn’t target Julio in the redzone. That’s why he was usually around the 6-8 TD range under Koetter.

  138. Ana Says:

Last I checked, neither the kicker or the QB play on the defense!
Remember when Warren Sapp used to say” give us 17 points and we’ll win”? Now we had an offense that can put up 3 times as many points, too bad now our defense gives up 4 times as many! Everyone take a deep breath and place the blame where it belongs !

  139. Silent_Partner Says:

Tried to warn you Buc fans that Koetter isn’t HC material. He’s an amateur. Only good thing that as he goes down in flames, few people outside of the morons posting here will blame Jameis for it, and he can get a real coach whenever the Glazers admit their mistake, hopefully by the end of this year.

  140. iamkingsu Says:

    @lightningbuc

Considering that franchise qb’s last about 15 years I figured that in between that time they can draft or bring some of those missing players in

  141. Chris Says:

87, not with this team and this culture. We need a lot of help. Defensively we need someone that scares the other team, like Donald and Quinn, like Von Miller. Like the legion of boom. We have no one on this defense that strikes fear. McCoy, he’s ok, but does not dominate a game period. We need d backfield. We need more winners, this team takes a 40 – 7 ass whooping , and are they fired up? At home? Didn’t even feel like a home field advantage. It truelly is the Den of Depression

  142. Serge Says:

I have never witnessed a game where the team runs out of time with timeouts left.
They need to go on the 4th down in field goal territory, at this point kicker is just a liability.

  143. celly Says:

you guys do realize that this is the same Rams defense team that held the Seahawks to 3 points points last week, right?

Does it suck that Aguayo missed some kicks? Absolutely. But guess what? Kickers miss kicks. Happens every week. No kicker is going to be 100% on FGs for the season. And with the new rule change, many kickers aren’t even 100% on XPs anymore.

This game is on Mike Smith and the defense. Plain and simple.

You allowed a Rams team that hadn’t scored a TD all season to put up 37 on you. Yeah, we had key players out on defense, but to allow 37 points? Unacceptable.

Given the way the Rams have played all season, 32 points should’ve been MORE than enough to beat them this week.

  144. Buc1987 Says:

Chris…it takes time to build, but I have no worries.

  145. Dr A Says:

No doubt the defense sucked but they did enough to win if we had a real place kicker! Kid shouldn’t be on the roster, we can see the preseason wasn’t a fluke now! and licht needs to take the heat as well his gamble has already cost us a game!

  146. DallasBuc Says:

Thought Winston balled out today against a very good defense. No sacks, right? Winston can’t tackle Tavon Austin or sack the immortal Case Keenum.
    Stop the madness

  147. Dr A Says:

Cell you know what kickers also do? MAKE KICKS! Something he has failed to do for 2 straight games. Chip shots at that.

  148. celly Says:

In what world is giving up 37 points “doing enough to win”.

  149. Bucsalltheway Says:

Two time outs and not one used to stop the clock. This one is on the coaches they Jameis out to dry on this one. It’s the naked truth. Watching the first quarter I didn’t think Jameis would even throw career high in yardage but he did. Dropped passes and back to back weeks where Simms glorious hands gave up a pick. Mop and bucket time they need to clean thing sh*t up forreal. Vincent Jackson was a gametime ghost I get it but don’t. Him and aguayo need to be replaced ASAP with expansion players

  150. Dr A Says:

In the world our kicker makes a pat and 41 yd kick!

  151. Bruce C Says:

    NFC SOUTH wide open….. Chilllllll

Lets bounce back and beat the Super Bowl champions next week.

    In Jameis we trust!

  152. Jason Robinson Says:

All i can say about these comments are WOW….a 22 year old throws for 400 yards, 3 TDs, keeps us in the game and this is the thanks from one of the WORST fanbases in sports? Yea, he should have run, but if he did and got stopped, the hate would be over that too. The majority here talking ish are straight up clowns. What do u want Mariota, 2ints, lost fumble and a loss today too? This team is cursed with a fanbase of FOOLS….lol.

  153. celly Says:

The irony in your statement is that even if we had those extra 4 points, we’d still have lost by 1.

    Facts are facts.

32 points is usually enough to win an NFL game.
Your defense giving up 37 points is NOT acceptable in any form.

This loss is on Mike Smith and the defense, whether you want to accept it or not.

  154. Dr A Says:

No if he hits those kicks there’s no need to go for 2! That’s 6 points bro.

  155. Dr A Says:

Oh btw the irony of your statement is the defense gave up 30!

If Roberto hits the pat and fg we don’t need to go for 2, twice! Of course I’m assuming he hits the pats after the other TDs we score maybe that’s where I’m wrong.

I won’t disagree the defense played like crap, against a terrible qb. But if our kicker does his job we win simple as that.

  156. Dr A Says:

Also if he hits those 4 then we just need a fg to win it at the end!

The defense giving up 30 to case keenum is unacceptable I’ll agree with that, but despite that we still should’ve won if our kicker did his job. Unless your me is Jason Licht or Mrs aguayo I don’t understand why you’d want to shield him.

  157. BigStinky Says:

This game should’ve NEVER came down to a final drive, but franchise QB’s can usually lead a 4th quarter comeback. If the Rams don’t return that fumble for a touchdown we win. Or, if that pass didn’t go off of Sims’ hands to Barron we would have won that game. No way we should have lost this game though. Guess I was wrong thinking this team would win 9 or 10 games this year. There are plenty of players we could blame this game on, guess it was a team loss. It’s a shame that JW has ONLY won 2 more games than Glennon. Jameis has a much better OC than the 2 that MG8 had in his first 2 years. I just wish JW didn’t overthrow wide open players on a regular basis. Not blaming him for this loss but he did have a hand in it. Plenty of blame to go around.

  158. RealBucFan Says:

I laugh at the majority of these comments. It’s why I stopped coming and reading Joe Bucs (Nothing against you Joe, it’s the ignorance of the comments, just gets me heated), the national media is right about TB fans, it’s not a educated fan base. I’m seeing comments saying Winston is the problem, smh, or blaming Jackson, or Aguayo, well here is a fact, a 22 year old qb is not supposed to make all the right decisions like a 30 year old veteran, but guess what, he is way ahead of any 22 year old qb I have ever seen, we are DAMN lucky to have this man under center. And for ya’ll to dog VJax is just straight sad and f’ed up, remember he is coming off some leg injuries, and do you ever think he might not be 100% yet? Nope. Ya’ll dog him. And last Aguayo, you can’t teach the amount of talent this kid has, there is a huge difference from kicking in College to the Pro’s, he has 1 bad game and your dogging him. Well let me teach you something about sports in general, it’s never about one guy, it’s about a team, and right now you are seeing a very talented young football team going thru growing pains with a new HC (Who is also learning how to be a HC in this league, remember he has never been a HC in NFL), a brand new defense, and yes our defense is not good, but it’s our 3rd different defense in 4 years, you cannot gel as a unit in 1 off season in a whole new defensive system. It won’t happen. But I guarantee when it does later in the season, you will see this Bucs team go on a nice 5 game win streak. In the game of football you win as a team, and lose as a team. I see a team trying to get that break thru win, and I think it might be next week. If we go into our bye week 2-3, that is a huge win for us. We are close, we need a signature win, to wake up that dusty, winning mentality we had from 1997 to 2005. It takes 1 signature win, ONE. And if we can hand the defending Superbowl Champs their first loss, that’s pretty defining, Den is due for a down game. Even if we don’t do it next week, we can do it in front of a national audience in Carolina. We come together next week, get the win and everyone on this site will be like I never said anything bad about this team. People, if you are a Real fan, like me, you will open your eyes and see we have a talented young football team, and a young qb that will give you TB fans a lot of wins in his career, and a superbowl or 2. Grow up, love your team no matter what, babies point fingers, and support your Buccaneers. My peace has been said. (Miss ya Joe, just can’t deal with this)

  159. Jim Says:

After it’s all said and done, Famous Jameis choked on the last play; choked on the five yard line with the ball in his hands. What, 6’4″, 230 lbs.?

  160. jay Says:

coach DK. have V.JACKSON SIT HIS LAZY ASS DOWN AND WATCH A REAL WR CATCH THE BALL LIKE HUMPHEYS. HE WILL GO AFTER EVEN BAD PASSES..HE TRIES…IF V JACKSON DOESN’T GET HIT IN THE NUMBERS …FORGET IT….TRADE HIM OR BENCH HIM….MAYBE THEN HE LL PLAY…FOOTBALL.
