Louis Murphy Talks About “Demanding” Jameis.

Talks Jameis 2016

Louis Murphy has caught balls from about 10 starting quarterbacks.

Joe shared a great, telling quote from America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, about how he needs to be more demanding with wide receivers as part of a maturation process.

So Joe thought it would be prudent to get rehabbing receiver Louis Murphy’s take on the situation.

Murphy knows plenty about getting in synch with quarterbacks. Remember, he’s played with Eli Manning, Cam Newton, Carson Palmer, Josh McCown, Mike Glennon, Jason Campbell, Jamarcus Russell, Bruce Gradkowski and others.

On this topic, Murphy is fully vibing with Jameis, who talked of developing trust with receivers so he can anticipate throws safely and to exact yardage.

“It’s a process,” Murphy said of getting in lock step with a quarterback.

“I agree with him,” Murphy said. “It’s all about making a play, and having precision in our routes, our route depth and also run after the catch. If that’s on his mind for us to do that, to be more precise with our route depth, then I’m pretty sure all of our guys will take hold of that and give him what he wants.”

Murphy said yelling at Austin Seferian-Jenkins in front of the team, as Jameis did yesterday, should not be received negatively. Jameis has the credibility in the locker room to be that kind of leader in 2016.

“Yeah, man. It’s all in love,” Murphy said. “I don’t think Jameis would be coming from a bad place. I think it’s something that he sees from a quarterback standpoint. With the dialogue between all the receivers and Jameis, we can get him what he needs. We need that vocal leader that’s going to push all the players to a higher standard.”

Jameis, as well as other successful people in ANY industry know that you never down talk to anyone who works with you or for you. All he was doing is bringing out in ASJ the talent and ability Jameis knows he has..deep inside, but it’s there..

A true leader indeed..Go JAMEIS!! Go BUCS!!

  2. tmaxcon Says:

as much as I don’t like him as a player or think he can help bucs. he is right and appears to be a decent dude. still don’t think bucs can count on him. glad he is a good teammate

  3. Buccfan37 Says:

Hey! Murphy is on board with Jameis encougaging the team he leads. Bringing out the best or bust.

  4. Defense Rules Says:

Murph is a class act and a dependable WR. Hope he heals up completely, because the Bucs will need him down the line. Injuries happen as we’ve seen year-after-year, as much to WRs as anyone. Loved his take that Jameis’ words to ASJ “should not be received negatively” because that’s not the kind of QB Jameis is. As LifeOfABucFan said “you never down talk to anyone who works with you or for you.” Right on.

These are off topic, plz forgive me.

Any idea why the Cowboys game isn’t on NFL Network tonight? I thought blackout but know it can’t be that since Miami is 300 miles away.

Bucs staff missed on a great looking DT, 65 A. Johnson for NE. A 2nd year guy UFA who was cut from Miami and Washington. the guy looked unblockable and fast in that 1st preseason game.

    @joe
glad that did some fact checking on the jameis -ASJ situation.ASJ has given
several interviews and he seems to be getting his head straight.there are reports out camp that he has had a very good two weeks.Including 3 TD’s yesterday in the red zone and being singled out by Koetter. Koetter is a wise
old fox and I predict ASJ will either be 1A or 1B TE and Koetter will turn ASJ around.

  7. Brion Says:

Is it me or in that last paragraph is Jameis talking to himself while referring to himself in 3rd person?

  8. LifeOfABucFan Says:

    I agree with Bob..

and stan..not sure either..I was hoping to catch the game myself..

  9. CocoaBchBuc Says:

I have Slighthouse Cable (darn it Joes, you got me playing with names now) and it is on independent channel. Missed 1st Qtr due to this silliness.

  10. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Brion its all you because thats a quote frim Murphy NOT Winston.

  11. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Joe and Pablo both got me changing names around too..

my son James is Hames…he hates it..

  12. DallasBuc Says:

That’s weird, he said nothing about the “shaming” Jameis, only the “demanding” Jameis.
Who are those Drama H(J)oes sweating up a hothouse of players shaming players?

  13. SB with Jameis Says:

Yet again, a Cowgirls fan posing as a Bucs fan

  14. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

stanglassman, there are no more blackouts, and NFLN doesn’t carry all the games at the time of airing.

  15. stanglassman Says:

Yet the game was blacked out. I knew it wasn’t by the nfl unless they bought those words too like Super Bowl. It was strange it was listed in the paper and on the TV guide. Frountior customer service had no clue and it didn’t seem to be or another channel in my package.

  16. Buccfan37 Says:

All those old Tampa Bay area Dolphin fans can’t let go, like the plague.

  17. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Stan..seems it was Frontier’s doing..everybody I know that doesn’t have Frontier got to watch the game..another reason now why I miss Verizon so much..
